Update 2.0, is it included with new touches?

I was just wondering, because I want to know if I get an iPod touch, if I'll have to pay $10 for the update to install apps, etc. or if it is included with new devices.
Thanks.

Hey
If you purchase an iPod online from the Apple Store it will have the latest software available.

  • Does iTunes update songs I imported from CD with new remixed versions?

About 10 years ago I imported many CDs into iTunes. One of those albums, released in 2002, was recently remixed by the artist and released as a separate album from the original, both still available separately, even with new cover art. Before I bought the new version I started to listen to the old one, to refresh my brain. But it was definitely playing the new remixed version. The cover art didn't change and the song files in the music folder say the songs were last modified April 30, 2003. I haven't bought the new release at all yet, so I can't think of any other way this happened. Oh, I don't subscribe to Match.

The article is to download music from your CDs to the iTunes library.
roaminggnome is right, you can only copy the music from your iPod to the computer if they're purchased form iTunes.
You may use a third-party software like senuti, ipodrip, etc.

  • No Apple Remote or Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adaptor included with new MacBooks

    Hi!
I just picked up a new (black) MacBook yesterday from the Apple Retail Store in Meadowhall (Sheffield). I was quite surprised to open the box and find that the Apple Remote and Mini-DVI to VGA adaptor cable are now optional items and no longer included in the package. Okay, they're not expensive (an extra £30.00 to add both of them), but I just thought I'd mention it to let potential customers know.
I have to say that I'm very pleased at the speed bump and the 250GB hard drive though (you can never have too much space). Also good to have 2GB RAM out of the box (rather than paying an extra £90.00 for the 2GB model). Excellent!

bford0001 - 15% restocking fee? Did you buy it from an Apple Retail store? I bought a black MacBook from them just under two weeks ago (a 2.2 with 160GB HD and 2GB RAM) and they let me take it back and walk out of the store without charging me anything!
One other thing I have noticed - why has the L2 cache dropped to 3MB from 4MB? I know the processor is more powerful, but doesn't that mean it would just about level out, because of the reduction? I noticed the same for the £1,299.00 MacBook Pro and that on the other two models, it's gone up to 6MB. Anyone know how this would change the performance?

  • Is appleworks included with new mac computers?

I am planning on buying a new mac mini this summer, but have been told that appleworks will no longer be included. I was also told that there was no program included that would open all of my appleworks documents. What is the word processor that would be included in a new mac, and will it open my old documents?

    This is correct.

documents. What is the word processor that would be

    documents?
The mini comes with demo versions of Microsoft Office and iWork (which includes Pages). Pages I believe will open AP word processing documents but of course not databases or spreadsheets. I don't know about MS Office. Of course you would have to buy either to continue using them.
However if I understand correctly it would be legal for you to copy Appleworks from your old computer onto the new one, provided you remove it from the old computer. It should run OK in Rosetta (this happens automatically). Copy the entire AW folder, not just the application, and also the preferences.

  • Library Update Fails, Itunes will not work with new 9.0 update

I just recently updated the Itunes software.
Since doing it, when I plug my Ipod 180 gig into my computer, or just try to open Itunes, the Library starts to update
I can do nothing else and then when it finishes, it fails.
Itunes closes and I am back to square one.
    WHY?!?!?!
It was fine before I updated. Everything was running smooth.
This new update is messed up!!
What do I need to do to fix this issue??
    Elwood

OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

  • Contact Card Image - Including with new email

I know I am not going crazy.... I could swear there was a way from within Mail (not .Mac) to include you "main contact image" on all outgoing mail. Is that feature not included any longer? If it is, where is that setting buried?
    Thanks for the help!

Send for the wee men in the white coats ...
If you look in your sent mailbox and select a message you should see your image smiling at you from the top right corner of the viewing pane. However, it is not included in the actual outgoing message, and I don't think it ever was. If you want to send an image with all your messages you will need to include it in your signature.

  • Updated 3GS but doesn't include the "new" apps ???

i updated my 3GS phone but it didn't download the new apps i.e. airplay, airprint..

They are not actually apps, at least not apps you will find on the screen. They are features. To use airplay, you must have an AppleTV (the new one). To use airprint, you must have one of the support printers.
If you are on iOS4.2, those features do exist, you probably just are not able to use them because you don't have the equipment they require.

  • Recently added still not syncing with new touch software (3.1.2)

The last 2 versions of the ipod touch os update have changed my recently added playlist. Now it only lists the last songs/podcasts added, so i get things from 2 weeks ago. The list is accurate on itunes. I tried changing the order of the list on itunes and syncing , and still didnt work. Also tried making a new playlist of "Added in last 5 days" and limitnig to 10 items, for example, but still only took last 10 items! Any ideas? thank you

My iPod recently wouldn't sync songs, so I un checked the sync music button and synced it, then when it finished, I re checked sync music and synced it again, hope this works!

  • Will firmware 2.0 be included with iPod Touch if I buy one after 11th July?

I plan to buy an iPod Touch after 11th July (possibly this Sunday) and I was wondering if it will include the firmware 2.0 update.
(I plan to buy it from an Apple store in the UK).

    Most likely, yes.

  • Charger Not Included with iPod Touch?

In December, I have received an iPod Touch. But when I looked in the case, I was surprised to see that there was no charger! There was a cord for syncing onto your computer, but not a charger. I was forced to use my iPad chargers to charge my iPod Touch, and I decided that I needed one.

What's wrong with using my iPad charger is that when I charge one product over night, then the other product ha no percentage.
It should work on your Windows computer or any USB source.  Is it plugged into a USB port on your computer or a powered USB hub?  If so, it should charge.  Try another port.  Make an appointment at the genius bar at the Apple store.  Perhaps your cable is faulty.  Or there is a hardware problem with the iPod.
BobjbkIn, I have no idea what a USB is. Whenever I hook it up as of the way I would to sync it, then nothing happens.
Don't use the port on your keyboard or on a hub.  Try a port directly on the CPU.
    Philly_Phan, I don't know what a hub is.

  • Photoshop CS4 does not recognize raw photos taken with newer cameras. Anyone else have this problem?

Photoshop CS4 will not recognize RAW2 photos taken with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ100 camera. This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4. I paid a lot of money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new camera, but it appears that Adobe no longer updates Camera Raw for CS4 or with newer cameras. When I called the Help Desk to find out if there was some kind of patch I could get to make CS4 compatible with my new camera a gentleman in New Delhi informed me that he couldn't even answer my question until I paid $40 since answering questions about CS4 was a "paid service." I hung up in a rage. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw  update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4.
Adobe does indeed not update obsolete versions of Camera Raw for new camera types.
And guess what: It’s the camera producers who seem to like to change their raws – so how about spreading some of your indignation their way?
I paid a lot of  money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new  camera
The upgrade is cheaper than buying the full version.
Anyway, you could try the free DNG Converter which should be able to handle everything the most recent version of Camera Raw can handle.
