Update 4.2.1 didnt do anything at all.

I just updated my ipods software to the new 4.2.1 version and looked it up to find all the stuff it should have added. But my ipod has NONE of the "new" stuff it was supposed to add.
It shows on the apple.com website that a ipod touch 3rd generation is supposed to gain the following:
multitasking,
AirPrint,
VoiceOver,
AirPlay
and that wall paper of the metal or bubbles. The screen behind the apps and icons that you would see all the time.
But NONE of this is on my ipod touch 8gb third generation. How would I get these on my ipod? All this "update" did was take another bit of the space away (yet again). I bought it in Feb. of this year and it had 7GB on it. but now after all these updates it only has 6.8GB. But it didnt add anything so why did it take even more memory away?
So does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the stuff on my ipod that it should have from this update.

And my ipod doesn't have the print option, the double clicking home button doesn't do anything. Nothing at all happened from the update. I tried restarting my ipod, turning it off for a minute then back on, unplugging then replugging, pretty much everything I could. And still didn't do anything.

My iPhone 4s has suddenly stopped making a noise to tell me new emails have arrived, this was after an ugrade to IOS 7.1.2.

I omitted to say that it only occurs when the screen is locked - if I'm looking at something on my phone when an sms or email arrives, the phone 'notifies' me with a sound but doesnt do it when its screen is locked. Email messages and sms's (texts) still arrive but I get no sound to tell me they have.
The MUTE swith is in the correct place and I have tried resetting the phone with the Home and Sleep buttons several times, still to no avail.
I have noticed on the forums that many people are suffering or have suffered the same problem but Apple are never forthcoming, of course, -

resolve the problem with your account.

I am unable to update my apps or to buy anything after I created a new password. I am able to logon but nothing seems to work after i log on.

You might try completely signing out of your Apple ID on the affected devices, then signing back in.

I was updating from IOS 7.1.2. to IOS 8 the update ask for it.
After update IOS8, I can't do anything.
I try to restart the hard way by puching both button's
Ather doing this it goes down. Ather pushing the starting button the only thing I see is the logo.
It stay's (now for an hour) and nothing happens.
So now my Ipad is useless,

If you are stuck at the Apple logo, the you will need to put your iPad into recovery mode. One you do that, plug it into iTunes and use iTunes to restore your iPad. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that back on once the restore is complete.

so ive dediced to update my ipod and my itunes said that they cannot connect my ipod i tried updating itunes and that didnt seem to be the problem. does anyone have any ideas?

We updated our phones and now we are running out of memory. Never happened before the update and we have not added anything new. We have hardly anything on our phones. Why am I having to remove stuff that has always been on my phone.

I hAVE A 2011 macbook pro, i've noticed that hardrive usage from 180 gig went up slowly to 260 gig after several months, and i didn't even install any software or saved anything at all that big? Why is that? Is it becasue of the many software updates that Apple sends? I already checked my files but i don't find anything that would cause that much of a big jump.

i bought an ipod touch it worked for a while then it went in to dfu mode and said to plug in to itunes and i did but that didnt do anything and it wouldnt show up on itunes ethier plz help
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
