  • Apps won't update. When I click "update" it just opens the app. Also, "update all" option is unavailable (grey) iphone 5

I have an iphone 5, I have many apps to update. when I open App store and go to update app, it just opens the app. I closed down all my apps and restarted my phone.  please help. thanks.

I noticed the same problem yesterday on my iPhone 5 (7.0.3)
Update all option was greyed out and attempting to update individually just opened the app.
I did a hard reset and bingo, worked first time.

  • Firefox 8 and 9beta. Back and Forward buttons greyed out. Right click menu also has forward and back greyed out. Updated all plugins, then disabled all plugins and extensions and started in safe mode. No change.

My forward and back buttons are greyed out after update to Firefox 8. Tried to move to 9 beta, but same behavior. Back and Forward also greyed out in right click menu.
Attempted to fix by updating all plugins and extensions, then disabled all plugins and extensions, and then tried to start in safe mode. Nothing worked.

You could have backed up your profile folder. If you did, [[Recovering important data from an old profile]] can help :)

  • Updated to ios7. Ipad decided it wanted a password, after a day of ios7, and after exhausting all options it "disabled" itself. Tried all the Apple suggestions. No luck. Anyone else have this problem and did you find a solution?

Nothing about 7compensates for this betrayal.

I read the set up information after the update.   When it asked if I wanted to add password I said no.

  • 10.1.3 - Edit Table dialog - all options are disabled?

How come in 10.1.3 when selecting edit on an existing table under a database connection, that all the components of the table are not-editable? For instance you can't delete a column?
Is this because the editor doesn't have the ability to generate ALTER scripts? Or a bug?
    CM.

    Chris,
You should have the ability to delete columns unless the column in used in a constraint, in which case you are forced to alter the constraint first before being allowed to delete the column.

  • Wrong Apple ID: How do I change the Apple ID prompt when Updating All Apps?

How can I change the (wrong) Apple ID from the password prompting dialogue when I am already signed in Apple Store with my own ID?
    More details of my problem:
When I try the Apps' Update-All option in my iPod 4, the password dialogue prompts me with my girlfriend's Apple ID; YET, I AM signed in the Apple Store with MY own Apple ID.
I have already verified my ID under Settings/Store. I have also signed out, signing back in with my Apple ID, just in case. No problems there, for I DO sign in with my own ID ok. The problem is just the prompt dialogue for password, when I try to use the 'Update All' feature it prompts me for password with her ID, not mine.
If I go back to Apps and choose the Categories (or Top25) menu, at the bottom of the page, it shows me signed in (my Apple ID). If I try to update one Apps it will do ok. But if I try to Update All it will prompt me for password using her ID, waiting for me to type in HER password. I cannot change the Apple ID on that dialogue (static). If I use my password, it will return the "wrong password" dialogue.
How can I change the prompt for the Update All? What is going on here that I AM signed in but my iPod prompts me with her ID. My iPod is registered under my Apple ID. I have already tried the Hard reset by pressing Home and Power buttons simultaneously, to no avail. I am also using my own network to go Online. I am also with the latest OS in my iPod and my Mac's iTunes.
    Thank you!
PS This problem is not occurring in my iPhone 4 (same account) nor my Macs.

Does not work for me. (My iPhone is not jailbroken.)
I downloaded a paid app "Imray Marine Rules and Signals v1.5" in the USA with my original account (Account1) then moved countries and needed to create a new Apple account (Account2). If I get 'Info' for the app, it is registered to Account1.
A new version 1.6 of the Imray app has now been released.
I have set up only Account1 on the iphone (settings - App Store) and both Account1 and Account2 in iTunes on my computer. My iphone always tells me there is 1 app to update. However, when I try to update this app on my iphone, I get asked for the password for Account2, then the download fails as it says I do not have a paid earlier version to update.
When I am logged into my computer iTunes as Account1 and try to update it on the computer iTunes, it says there are no apps to update (although my version of the app is definitely the old version).
When I search for the app in iTune Store, it tells me I have already downloaded version 1.6 of the app and the download button is grayed out.
If I temporarily delete the app from my iTunes then try to re-download, I am asked to purchase it again.
If I log into iTunes as Account2 then try to download it, I am asked to purchase it.
Any ideas? I feel I have tried every option and no success.

  • Where Did "Update All" Go?

It used to be that when I had multiple apps that needed to be updated, there was an option in the App Store to "update all."  They would then update in the background without the need for any more input.
Recently though, that option seems to have diappeared.  At the top of the screen, there are two buttons: "All" and "Not On This iPhone."  To update those which show a need for updating, I have to scroll down a long list, and then update one at a time.  Worse, each time I update one, the phone kicks back out to the main screen showing that particular app loading and then installing the update.  To update another one, I have to go back into the App Store, scroll down the list, and repeat the routine again over and over for each app.
Did something in the software change, or is there something I can do to get the convenient "Update All" option back?

They would only be where you put them.
You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update.
If you failed to do this, then they are likely gone.
You can try a restore from backup.

  • "Update All" not working in App Store - ios 7

I seem to be having an issue with the App Store on my iPhone 5 lately, where the App Store says i have multiple updates available for my apps, when the "Update All" option at the top is greyed out and it cannot be selected. When i try to select Update now for each individual app, all it does is launch the app in question, but does not update it. I tried turning the phone on and off to no avail. The next thing i'm going to try is connecting to to my computer and let it update that way, but why wouldn't it work on the phone itself?

  • "Update All" Greyed Out On App Store Updates Page

I have noticed that when I go to the App Store to update Apps, the "Update All" option is greyed out. There is more than one App to update in every case and I end up having to update each individually. However, when I update the first individual App (1st selected not necessarily 1st in list), the "Update All" option becomes available and functional.
This occurs on iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.2 and NOT on my iPad 3 running iOS 7.0.2.
Anyone else notice this and/or have a solution?
    Thank you very much.

Yes, I have also seen what you have reported. This looks like a bug.

  • Is there a way to "update all" serially?

Is there a way to use the "update all" option in the app store to update my apps serially.  Right now, if I try it, it invariably complains that I don't have enough memory.  However, I can update the apps one-at-a-time.  Clearly, it is trying to update everything at the same time.  I would like a procedure for updating all of the apps, without requiring me to do them one at a time.  As it stands, when I have a large queue of 50-60 updates, it takes nearly an hour of constantly restarting the app store update to update everything.

I would have to agree with Demo. My usage and update paterns are pretty much in line with his. I don't recall ever updating more than 10 or so apps at one time and have never had an issue (at least one I couldn't blame on server issues or the vendor ). Occassionally a vendor will make mass changes to an app, but most of the time the changes are extra features, security improvments, or stability improvements. Getting the update as soon as possible is to you advantage.
If you are in a position where there are that many apps to update, an alternate to the one-at-a-time approach would be to do small groups.
As for being able to control the serial progress, you can suggest that to apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

I just want to be able to USE iCloud on my phone
To do that, you don't go to iCloud.com on your iPhone. You use the apps that all your iCloud data is synced into, such as Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, Safari (for bookmarks), Photos (for Photostream) etc.

    Hello babichanjacob
Change how it syncs by enabling Manually manage music and videos, then you can drag and drop the music that you want on your iPhone. Revert it back to test to see if that resolves the issue.

I have a ton of files on my iPod and just got an iPhone. Last time I updated all my files were lost; how do I prevent this from happening again?

    Max,
It really can take very long to import and process so many images - I would not dare to make a prediction.
Can you open the Activity Viewer?
From Aperture's main menu bar: Window > Show Activity.
This window will tell you the filename of the image that is currently being processed.
if you are seeing, that the import is still far from being finished, you might to pause certain tasks directly from this panel, like the generation of previews or scanning for faces. I'd let the import run, if you see that it is making progress.
Have you enabled very time-consuming options, like the generation of high resolution previes or scanning for faces and places? if yes, and the import is not making any progress at all, I'd disable thes options in the Aperture preferences for the initial import. You can add these later for the projects where you want to use these features.

  • How to Get Rid of Update Option on an App, iPhone, iPad etc...

    Dear Apple,
I understand this is not possible, yet!
Please fix this one annoying oversight/bug you have had for ever. The option to "Update All" is great but it's useless if you have one or more apps that you don't want to update. Not everyone wants to update everything, agreed? Why not give us all an option to select an app that we wish not to be included in our updated list of apps to our devices such as our iPhone, iPad etc...?
For example, I have Splash id, 4 since 2008, if I do an "Update All" which is crucial (because I have many, many apps to update at a time and I like to update them all at once on my WiFi once every month or so) I'm forced to update Splash to version 6. I don't want 6 because this version is "not compatible" with the Desktop Version! I use the desktop version everyday to sync all my new passwords etc....
In order to make the Desktop version work I need to pay Splash yet another $10 to upgrade? I'm happy using my old version, it works fine.
So because you don't have an option to exclude this app with the updates, I have to sit there for hours just updating my apps one by one?
Appears to be an easy fix, how has this slipped by you for sooo long?
There has to be many of you out there experiencing this problem. If this post goes viral maybe Apple will see it and do something about it?
    Thank You
