"Update All" Stuck -- Solved!

No, you can't cancel it. But you CAN make it work instead of waiting for three days and having it still not complete.
My iPad was trying to update 200 apps (I collect a lot of free stuff I never use, so sue me). Can't cancel. Can't even delete 'em if they are waiting to be updated.
So, looked at the screens. A bunch were "waiting" but another bunch (I am guessing about 20) were "installing".
This thing was thrashing. Timesharing itself to death. The install procedure takes long enough as it is, if 20 are trying to do it simultaneously it will take a long, long time.
So. Tap on all of the "Waiting" icons so they read "Paused". This will prevent them from starting up with "Loading" when one of the current "Installing" frees up an active slot. Go away for an hour or so to give those 20 active "Installing" apps a chance to work themselves out.
Now. When you get back, check to see how many are still "Installing". If all you find are "Paused" then you are ready to continue. Tap on one. It may go to "Waiting" briefly, or it may go straight to "Loading". After "Loading" it will go to "Installing". But, it will finish in the normal amount of time.
Activate the remaining "Paused" apps one at a time. Maybe two at a time, but no more than that. What I have been doing is as soon as one goes from "Loading" to "Installing" I tap another "Paused" to get it to start "Loading". Sometimes the second one goes to "Installing" before the first is finished. At that point I wait. With no more than two active at a time, and you can get it done in a reasonable period of time. The downside is that you do have to babysit the process.

Yes, you won't be arrested for shutting it down. Depending on what was being updated, the machine may or may not start up properly (or at all) afterward. If it doesn't, post back for advice.

Two other things to try -
Power your iPad off for a minute and then back on again.
Double tap the Home button, locate the updating apps (one by one) in the bottom task bar, press on it until the red minus sign comes up and click it. Repeat for the remaining apps. Try the updates again but do them one by one rather than Update All.

HP printer and Firefox 4.0.1 not talking....prints from Explorer fine..help, I have reset the printer in config and updated all plugins...still not working. I want to use firefox but can't if I can not get this issue solved.

I have tried the obvious....CP and made sure the correct printer was selected and it wasn't set to print to file. I then did the about:config and reset the printer. I have also updated all the plugins with none of the solutions working.
Please help...I really don't want to have to use Explorer everytime I need to print something.

my guess is that you are not connected the internet, thats why the iPod is unable to complete the update.
Try connecting to the net and the updates should be done in a few minutes

Todd, have you "thrown the switch" to tell Palm Desktop to direct the data to Outlook?
Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.
You said you're "using the Outlook 2007 Conduit" -- does this mean you installed the Outlook 2007 Update on top of Palm Desktop 6.2.2? If so, that may be a problem as 6.2.2 comes with 2007 compatibility built into it!
I have read several posts recently where a user made the same mistake, and it caused some problems. If throwing the switch above does not fix things, I'd uninstall/reinstall Palm Desktop, but do NOT install the Outlook 2007 patch.

solved the issue today. first sync with itunes, so all the stiff you bought on the mobile will be backuped.
1. uncheck sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be erased from mobile device
2. check music player on the mobile device. just the unwanted songs will still be there
3. go on the iphone to settings, general, usage, music player. there is just a few mb from the remaining unwanted songs. swipeleft and erase the content. switch iphone off and on again
4. repeat step 2. there will be no data. otherwise repeat step 3
5. check sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be back again but not the unwanted songs.

You can undo a lot of changes, either via changing settings or prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page or via extensions.

I have been unable to "update all" apps through my iphone and ipad. all my software is up todate, i have been to see numerous apple genious's and i even traveled to Cupertino to try and solve this issue. i am able to buy single songs, single apps, etc. the only Clue i can give that might have a relation to the issue is before the problem started, I was signing up for icloud and my itunes username totally disappeared from my devices. i was able to "resecure " the same username, but i think that somehow itunes to differentiating the two identical user names i had??? but as i said, i can still buy single apps, music, etc.

Have you tried a Hard reset on your Device?

Updates getting stuck in V2 processed state

Hi,
In our ERP production system EP0, update entries are getting stuck
in 'V2 Processed' state.
Details of the same show that the collective run state is in initial
state for functional module 'MCEX_UPDATE_03'.
Please find the attached screenshot of details.
These updates are gettin stuck for specific transactions like MIGO.
We have already tried running the report RSM13005 but it has not helped.
Please look into it urgently as the system is a production system.

As you checked in transaction SM13 they are stucked in Initial state. There was various states associated with the update like INIT and ERR.
What is INIT status:
Update records which have not yet been processed have the status INIT or AUTO. INIT refers to a complete update record (header, function module call of update and data elements are present), which has not yet been processed however.
What to do: SM13 -> Update records -> Update -> All records/Single
you can set the update administration so that all records with the status 'INIT' or AUTO' (all update records which have not yet been updated) are processed (as far as possible).
Warnings: please check with the user who posted the updates in the first place - make sure that they have not already reposted the update manually. If you are in doubt, please re-enter the data manually rather than using this update function.

App updates are stuck on installing, won't update

I have 10 apps to update. They are all stuck on installing. Have rebooted,doesn't do anything. I can't use the apps either. any suggestions?

Make sure you are getting a good internet connection.
Double-tap the Home button (bottom center of the iPhone), to get the current open Apps. Press and hold on one till they start "shivering" and you get the red "-" sign on them.
Such the "-" on the ones you are having troubles with to close them. And press the Home button again to exit the "shiver mode".
Then reset your iPhone (Press and hold the Home and Sleep (Shut Down) buttons at the same tim, till you get the Apple logo). This will not cause any data loss.
When it has finished restarting, open the Apps you were having troubles with. The iPhone should recognize an incompleted upgrade and restart the download/upgrade.

namely the servlet has to update all its client's HTML pages,when ever a new request is sent from any one of its clients.
for an example.
consider the value of a variable A in servlet is 1, initially
Three pages[b] m1,m2,and m3 are accessing that servlet
and value of[b] A is displayed in m1,m2 and m3
if m1 calls the servlet and updates the value of A to 2.
Then this updation has to be reflected in m2 and m3 also.
This must not be done by the clients,by refreshing itselt, or by sending a request to the servlet at certain intervals.
The servlet itselt has to update all its clients.

Not having used pushlets myself, but having heard about them many times before, I took a look at the article.
Interesting. It never closes the connection to the client, so can keep sending additional info. It seems to solve the problem of updating the page. But at what cost?
When does the "updating" of the page stop?
How do you know if the user is still alive?
How many "listeners" will it be able to handle at one time?
Would the users session expire if they left it on this pushlet page?

Unable to link incompatible devices. Please update all out of date devices

I just recently got the trio kit with two DM100's and the wireless controller.
Linksys Easy Link Advisor (LELA) does not install the controller, but it was able to be installed with most functionality manually. (running windows xp 64)
Right Now I am getting the error "unable to link incompatible devices. Please update all out of date devices" when I try to link my zones named Player1 and Player2 for party mode. When viewing details they show different firmware versions (1.7.3 and 1.23.31). I have tried to update, but they show up as completely updated in LELA.
How can I force a firmware upgrade? I did a search, and the help file was of no use. There is also no download available.
For the next gen of linksys home audio, how about a standard webconfig/telnet where I can define a static IP address for the wired and wireless connections? Eventually I hope to start up wireshark and see how this all works, because the system is cumbersome in its current state.

Basically, Leave it powered on, connected to the internet over the weekend.

You can force the update to happen by using the Media Center Sofware.
   1. Open media center software
   2. Mouse over the DMP-100 player window and right click to expose menu
   3. Select About to see current firmware version and option to update.
I did this, and it updated...eventually. Took overnight (>3hours), and there was no user feedback/acknoledgment that the command had been received/processed/completed.
