Update and uninstalation issues

I just updated and downloaded Adobe Reader11.0.4, however the older version 10.10.7 is still on my control panel and I cant remove it. What should I do, will this create a problem??

Use the cleaner tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then reinstall 11.0.4 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and update to 11.0.5 from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5674

  • Installing and Uninstalling Issues

Well, I turned on my computer today to find that my version of the Flash Player is no longer valid. Fine, now worries. I tried to install the new version, but I kept getting errors. They said that it was unable to complete installation becuase I had no actionlist. Whatever that is. I've spent the last few hours looking for a few solutions. I tried uninstalling (via the download from Adobe) but that doesn't work either! I keep getting a "Not a Win32" error of some kind. Point is, I can't uninstall the leftover files from my last update, and I can't install the new update. I'm currently using Firefox. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is your operating system & version?
Try downloading the installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • Helix bios update and firmware issue

Hello. I recently had an issue - my keyboard dock stopped working entirely and I had the fan issue. I installed the firmware update and also updated my bios - with success, the keyboard dock now works.,
The first time I restarted my Helix 3xxx series.... it didn't work.
The issue I received is on windows 8.1. I loaded, logged in... and received a black screen. The cursor was there, and I could do CTRL-ALT-DEL, but nothing else loaded.
I looked it up, and previous lenovo laptops had this issue when upgraded to 8.1 - black screen, cursor, nothing else.
The issue with those laptops was with an AMD display driver - but I do not possess said driver. After going through their solutions many times, nothing works. I can run it in safe mode with networking, but trying to run standard is without fail. I updated my display drivers with no luck.
I don't know what caused it besides the apparent bios/firemare update. I do not know what else to try.
I can't even do a system restore because I dont have a USB drive to do it with.

F.23 is F.23 despite the discrepancy in the release dates. You have the latest BIOS.

But the folder operation is functioning.
    What should I do?
    Help!!

I don't have an answer to fix your problem unless you have your hard drive backed up onto another hard drive, but the answer would of course be obvious if this were the case.
I would like to point out that everybody that has a computer, laptop or desktop, should have their entire hard drive backed up onto another hard drive. It should be considered as a requirement, not a luxury.
Next, before ever installing a software update, you should run the "Repair Disk" function and also the Repair Permissions function of the Disk Utility app, from the install DVD. If there is corruption in your disk directory and you go ahead and install a software update, all manner of problems may arise.
I never let the software update Install automatically. I always download the update software, then do the preventive disk repair, permissions repair, then do a fresh backup of my entire hard drive, then run the update software's installer. Now if anything goes amiss, I am not out a thing, and I am in a good position to troubleshoot. So far I have never had any problems with any updates but this method will pretty much make sure that if you do ever have a problem you are not in any trouble. Just restore from your current, fresh backup.

  • Updating and syncing issues from iPhone to iPad

I have two issues.  I just got new iPhone and after creating an iCloud account all my contacts will only appears numbers on my phone (no names attached to the contacts) and now that updated my iPad to io5 nothing will sync with my iPhone. I checked my settings and wifi is on as well as photo stream is on.  I'm so confused!

Assuming you are using the same AppleId on both devices (Settings App > iTunes & App stores), you should be able to open the itunes app, select Purchased from the lower menu and download any items you have purchased on the account.

  • 8.0.2 update and Template issues

Here's an FYI & observation after the update to 8.0.2. My machine has both Logic Studio and Logic Express installed. After the software update yesterday, Logic Express startups up by presenting the templates dialog box offering all the templates as would be presented in Logic. Choosing any template not in the Logic Express set understandably creates error after error, but otherwise it seems to be a trivial issue.

    Hey there tjbliven,
It sounds like you are not able to use the dictation feature of iOS 8, becuase the microphone icon is missing. It seems to me like Siri may be turned off, which would cause the icon to not be there:
    Siri settings - iPhone
To set options for Siri, go to Settings > General > Siri. Options include:
    Turning Siri on or off
That should get the dictation feature back for you.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • 10.6.4 Update and Bluetooth issue

I just updated to 10.6.4 and my MBPro now doesn't allow bluetooth keyboard or mouse to wake when sleeping. The option to "allow bluetooth device to wake computer" is greyed out. This wasn't an issue prior to the update.
    Any ideas?

I am thinking there was a problem with BT and sleeping of MBPs. I have a bluetooth mouse and disabled that feature in 10.6.3
I don't need my mouse to wake my MBP anyway. Sorry I am not much help. Just stating my view.
I just checked my computer...that area is not grayed out on mine and I am at 10.6.4.

  • 2.2.1 update and call issues

    Hi all,
I was very happy with my iPhone and the 2.2 software update, things were running nicely and I hadn't had any troubles, which is why I decided to go ahead and install the 2.2.1 update when it was released - and I have had nothing but trouble...
I live in an area where Vodafone coverage is not great, there are however certain areas where I can go to get almost full reception; this was the first problem that I noticed - I no longer get full reception here, it's now two or sometimes three bars.
The second problem I have is when I go to make a phone call, when the call is establishing it now takes sometimes up to 40 seconds of silence to get to the ringtone! With 2.2 it almost seemed instantaneous, and now there is this massive delay which is infinitely infuriating!
I think this second issue may be linked with the third, which is pretty much the opposite. When I end a call there is another long delay, though not normally as long as the setup delay - 15-20 seconds. Pressing the home button takes me back to the home screen with the green bar at the top saying the call is in progress, pressing the green bar takes me back to the call and allows me to press the end call button again, to no avail. All this whilst the call timer is still counting.
The last issue is with the calls itself... Now when I make a call, about 50% of the time it will drop out in the first 30 seconds of the call, I will not get a call failed message (which I had seen a couple of times in the past); it will just sit there like the person on the other end of the phone has gone silent and the call timer will still be incrementing. This coupled with the call end and redial delays make for an almost 1 minute round trip from the call dropping out to me calling back - this is extremely infuriating!
Now, I thought I could just roll back to the 2.2 update when everything was peachy... How wrong I was; it appears that the baseband has been altered in such a way with the 2.2.1 update that the 2.2 update cannot be restored to the phone, I've even gone to the lengths of jailbreaking the phone only to realise that the baseband cannot be rolled back, even if the firmware is.
So, this puts me in a situation where I have an infuriating phone to use because I cannot roll back to the last known good update for it - it was reasons like these call issues that I moved away from Windows Mobile and Symbion devices. My iPhone was great until this update - I just want it back to good working order!
I've tried restoring the phone, rebooting the phone, restoring to a 2.2 release (gives a #1013 error when trying to update it). Is there any way I can get this back - or is there a 2.2.2 release planned that will solve any of these issues?
    Cheers,
    --ryan

Have you done a reset (hold the sleep/wake & home button until the Apple logo appears)? A reset will often correct many issues you may have with the phone.
If a reset or restore does not correct the issues, you could try a new SIM from ATT or make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the phone looked at.

  • 1.3.5.1 Updated, and Now Issue With Incoming Calls

Since updating to 1.3.5.1, any time I mute the ringer on an incoming call, it mutes the ringer until right before the missed call notification, but then plays the ringer again briefly.  This defeats the purpose of being able to mute the ringer in the first place.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

This occurrs any time I press the volume rocker key to mute the ring of an incoming call.  After the initial time when it played an extremely brief snippet of my ringtone (factory installed "Older Phone" ringtone), it has randomly switched between the short ringtone and a electronic squeal noise.
Since I know the slightest software change can kill a seemingly unrelated feature, I'll try to be as detailed as possible.  For my phone setup, it is completely stock (phone no.5 after misc. slider/screen/charger door issues, haven't had time to change anything yet) My ringtone volume is set to maximum with vibrate also on, system sounds are also set to maximum with the default tone. I have no non-app catalog programs or patches installed.  I use a Touchstone back cover, although the phone was not on the charger when I noticed the issue.
The only downloaded apps on the phone are Pandora, Tip 'em!, Stop Watch, Fandango, Good Food, Mileage Monitor and gDial Pro (which has not been set up yet).  With the exception of Pandora, none of these apps have been used since I received this replacement phone.  They were all just automatically downloaded because my previous phone had them.  I have e-mail accounts through Cox, Yahoo, and Gmail, none of which are synced to contacts, calendars, messaging or tasks.  I do have my Palm profile and EAS through my work in a full sync capacity.
    Hope this helps.

  • BIOS Update and Overheating Issue

A big Hello to all my fellow HP Users and a very Good Day to all of you
I have an HP G61-455EE Notebook PC running a Windows 7 ( 64 bit ) OS with an overheating issue - the underside of the laptop runs really hot after a while of usage and the system goes into "Hibernation" with a displayed message due to overheating.
Pursuant to my research on this subject, I have come across advice to clean the fan ducts ( which I did ) and to update my BIOS, and that is where the problem lies.
My BIOS current information : HP F.23, 12/21/2010 and the HP Driver Download lists a new update F.23 ; Released: 2011-01-14. Upon download and subsequent installation with the "insydeflash" program that pops up during BIOS instalation, the current and the new version are shown to be the same and despite procedding with the installation, it still shows the same old version.
I would love all your help and advise on this, as to what I should or should I just go ahead and replace the fan ( Is that even adviseable ? )
    Looking forward to your help
    Cheers !

F.23 is F.23 despite the discrepancy in the release dates. You have the latest BIOS.

  • 10.6.6 update and syncing issues in iTunes with iPhone 4 and Apple TV

After installing the recent OSX 10.6.6 update, I am receiving the following error messages in iTunes 10.1.1 when trying to sync both my iPhone 4 (iOS v4.2.1) and my 1st generation Apple TV (OS v3.0.2):
    iPhone error message:
"The iPhone cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to."
    Apple TV error message:
"iTunes cannot sync photos to the Apple TV because of a problem on your computer. The disk could not be read from or written to."
I'm not sure if this matters - but in the iPhone error message - it does not state if the "disk" is the iPhone or the computer - but in the Apple TV error message it does make this distinction, saying that the problem is on my computer and specifically mentions photos.
Now, once I dismiss either of the error messages, the sync progresses normally and completes successfully. Also, I have checked my computer (MacPro) and all diagnostics (including the internal hard drives) pass with flying colors. And the computer is working fine otherwise - so I have no reason to believe that there is a hardware problem with the computer. And I would find it very strange that I would have a hardware problem with both my iPhone and Apple TV appearing at the exact same time. And finally, both the iPhone and Apple TV are performing normally when in use.
Since this problem did not start until after running the 10.6.6 update - logic tells me that is where the problem probably lies.... the question is how to resolve it - anyone have any ideas?

FYI: I received the following answer to this same question which I had posted in a different area of the forum and it solved my problem:
+Both those symptoms are consistent with a damaged photo cache. If you remove your existing photo cache as per the instructions in the following document, does that get you past the error?+

  • Issue with recent iPhoto/Photo app syncing-updating and deleting issues.

I had sync my mom's iPad to her iPhoto library only to find that I cannot delete photos from her iPad without first sync-ing up to her Mac and deleting photos from iPhoto, first, then re-sync her iPad to delete the photos from her iPad. Her Mac is running 10.5.8 with iPhoto 9 (8.1.2)
Why can't I delete her photos directly from my iPad?
I can delete images/photos if I just send them over email and save them to her iPad photo app without using iPhoto, but it's a long inconvenient process.
Second, I made a slew of edits to her photos after initially sync-ing them to her iPad. The iPhoto makes the updates, but when I re-sync her iPad, the iPad is not transfering or updating its photo app database to reflect the changes I made to her images in iPhoto.
    What Gives?
I am going to have her download an image editing app for her iPad eventually, but for right now we are using iPhoto.
Why isn't the iPad accepting the updated data from the edits I make in iPhoto?

  • Updates and syncing issues with iPhone 4 and MacBook

Tried to sync my iPhone 4 to computer, says "could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." I have a MacBook with OS X 10.6.8; iTunes update 11.1.3; and iPhone IOS 7.0.4. Can someone please give me some direction?

    Hi bikeski1234,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
As a first step, I would suggest quitting your open apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Then sign out of iTunes:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311?viewlocale=en_US
    Restart and/or reset the device:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Then try syncing again …

  • Installating AND Uninstalling Issues

    Hi,
I've never been a fan of iTunes as I can never get it to work perfectly, but I need it to organize my music better.
I'm trying to install and I've got some left overs from previous installs. Nothing I do can get rid of it.
It's the Apple Software Update folder in Program Files. I have admin but it won't delete, It's invisible on Add or Remove, and invisible on Windows Installer Clean Up.
I can't re-install iTunes with this folder here...
Here's the error I get. This shows up for quicktime and iTunes, and even if Auto-Update is not checked.
    http://img442.imageshack.us/i/errorc.jpg/

Try renaming the folder containing the file mentioned in the error message. It may be corrupt so that Windows will not read it.
Renaming it should mean that the installer doesn't see it and creates another one.
It is also worth running a disk check to see of that picks up any errors.
