Update Apps don't clear from Update list

After updating an app in iOS7 my iPhone 5 still shows the updated app in the Update listing, but with an Open status.  How do I clean out the Update list after all updates have been successfully applied?

It appears that this is by design!
With iOS 7, you are no longer a slave to the constant need to update your apps. John McCain should be totally happy.
With this new automatic update feature, though, it might be nice to see what’s been updated lately. To do that, it’s just a quick trip into the guts of iOS 7. Here’s how.
To figure out what’s been updated, as well as when it was last updated, you need travel no further than the App Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Tap the App Store icon on your Home screen, and then hit the Updates button in the lower right-hand corner. You’ll then see apps that have been updated, sorted by the date they were updated. Pretty neat, huh?
You may see some apps that have not yet been updated. You might have automatic updates turned off. To turn it on, navigate to your Settings app, tap on iTunes & App Store, and then toggle Updates to ON.
You may need to wait a bit for the updates to start happening, but now you’ll get your apps updated without any input on your part.

  • Updates don't clear from the app store

This is not so much a question on how to fix, but possible bug issue.  In the past when you would update and app, when the app update completed and you closed the app store, the next time you opened the app store it would be empty.  Now  that I'm on iOS 7, I close the app store and come back, the updated apps are still on the update screen with the date they were updated.  Unfortunately, they don't clear when you sync then with iTunes and it appears that they eat up precious disk space on the device.
I haven't added anything new, but have 9 updates and lost nearly 400MB in the process.

  • Apps don't sync from iPhone to iPad

Just got an iPad and although my apps from iTunes/iPhone have transferred to my iPad, the information didn't transfer....it's like it's two separate accounts...is there a way to sync them up so the information within the apps transfers back and forth and stays up to date? I have tried to figure this out, but am having no luck. Thanks in advance.
    Sue

Syncing an existing app on iTunes to a different device is like adding it new to that device.
You must enter-configure your specific info.

  • Why don't updated apps clear from list?

with ios7 automatic updates turned on the newly updated apps do not clear from the updated app list.

They do after about a week.

  • Macbook Pro Retina EFI update 1.2 doesn't clear from software update list after installing

I've had this problem for a few weeks.
I install the update via the App Store, the system restarts, but afterwards I get a notice from the App Store that the same update needs to be installed. If I look further down the list of installed items it does record the update as being installed, but I'm not sure if it was really installed.
Note: I have tried to install the update manually w/o the App Store, but I still get a notice from the App Store after restart that the update needs installing.
This isn't  huge deal, but it's kind of annoying that I'm not sure if the update was installed or not, and frankly, my OCD kicks in whenever I see that this update is still not clearing from the list of items to be installed.
By the way, the update has to do with the nvidia card not losing performance after the computer wakes up.
    Thank you

    Hi there
However, I spoke to Apple and was  given the following advice:

    Thank you for contacting Apple.
Based on the details you provided, we think you might find the following information helpful:
OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer's PRAM

  • How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id?

How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id? So this way the update always fails because it asks for someone else's password. I don't have the app on my mac, it only appears in the update list. It's just annoying, because the update keeps appearing, and the reminder keeps reminding me that I should install a new update.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Why does the update list not clear after the app update with the new 7 system?

Can I clear the update list, it is getting full, from all the updates. It say open only when I do it is still there.  Help please.

Easiest way to clear list is; go to settings>general>date and time and set date manually to a point at least one month in the future (I set mine to two months ahead) and then open App Store and check for updates. The list should now be clear. This is just an update history list. When finished just turn on auto date/time or set it back manually if you like and list should still be clear. If you do nothing the updated apps should start to drop off the list in about two to three weeks.

  • Trying to update an app from appstore (updates list),but requests a pass for an apple id that is not mine! how can it be?

Trying to update an app from appstore list, but requests a pass for an apple id that is not mine! how can it be?

The app must have been downloaded by somebody else that used their Apple ID on your iPad, since purchases are always tied to the ID that was used to make the purchase. Unless your iPad is glued to your side 24 hours a day and nobody has ever used the iPad but you, then anybody that has ever used your iPad could have done it.

  • How can I get Apple Remote Desktop to disappear from my App Store updates list?

My Apple Remote Desktop software shows up in my App Store updates list.  But I have already updated it to version 3.6.1 and it shows as "Installed".  It is greyed out and will not go away.  Any ideas on how to make it disappear is most appreciated.

All the suggestions I have read have not worked for me.
    But you can try:
Running Software Update from the Apple Menu
Logging in to the Mac App Store with the account that purchased ARD
Deleting various Apple Store .plist files
NB I haven't tried removind ARD and reinstalling.

  • How do I clear the completed updates from the list?

Since this new update my update list doesn't clear when the updates are done.  How can I clear it?

    Hi Duhhuh,
Updates remain in the Update folder (not sure how long, but for awhile). This is because with iOS 7, users can opt to have their updated downloaded automatically, so they remain in the folder so you can see what has recently been updated.
You will notice that they are grouped by the data that they downloaded on.
This is just an informational list. It does not take up any memory.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • I have installed the latest OS X Updaate 10.8.4 - several times on my iMac, with restarts, but it won't disappear from my App Store update list.  Why?

I have installed the latest OS X Updaate 10.8.4 - several times on my iMac, with restarts, but it won't disappear from my App Store update list.  Why?   ..and how do I get rid of it?

I had a similar problem with trying to update using the App Store, and being told that the software was "installed" yet I was still only running 10.8.3.
The App Store was continually saying the 10.8.4 was available but with many tries I still could not download or install it.
And there are a few links to the OSX 10.8.4 (Combo) update that actually lead to a "Cant find this page error" on the Apple site and the App Store.
I did find a link to just the vanilla flavoured OSX 10.8.4 update here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1658 which is a smaller download of 359mb rather than 849mb with the combo update.
The simple OSX 10.8.4 update downloaded fine with Safari and I installed it with no problems from the finder. A few opening's on closing's of the App Store app made the update flag finally disappear.
I have since come back here to report this and then found the link to 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo) at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659 above and found that this link also starts to download the update through Safari and while I decided that I no longer needed it, I would presume that it would still install fine from the finder like the OSX 10.8.4 update did.
So it seems to me that there is a problem with (maybe occasionally) updating from the App Store, but if you download from either of the two "hard" links above and install from the finder it should be fine.

I have a second generation iPad and can't clear the items in my update list. Is there a way to do this. I select them and it just says iS05 required

There is no way to clear the update notifications - unless you delete the apps completely from the iPad and from iTunes on your computer.
Obviously you want to continue to use the apps, so you either have to update the iPad and get the newer versions - or just ignore the update notifications. They will not go away.

  • How do I remove updates from the "all updates" list?

Hello, say I have been getting updates for Windows 7, and I fully migrated to Windows 8, how do I get to remove the updates for Windows 7 from the "All Updates" list within WSUS? I have tried de-selecting the Windows 7 product from the p roducts
and classification option, and I have tried runing the clean-up wizard, but they are not getting removed. Deleting the database and reinstalling WSUS can't be the only option....

Uh... no... they weren't. No such concept exists. However, if you have an Automatic Approval rule configured on your WSUS server, that could account for such an action.
And all of that is aside from why these updates were imported from the Online Catalog in the first place, and not just synchronized normally like other updates.
What do you mean no such concept exist? They were approved by an admin, no one said anything about getting them imported, you are assuming these things, and normal sync was conducted.
Okay, let's clear up some logical impossibilities here. If the Server Cleanup Wizard deleted files, then the updates were DECLINED. Then the downstream servers WILL synchronize those declines, and the updates will be DECLINED
    on the downstream servers.
Yes, that is theoretically how it’s supposed to work, but it does not, for example, my upstream server is showing 223 updates for FEP 2010, but my downstream server is showing 239 updates out of which 21 are invalid software updates.
This statement is logically inconsistent on a number of levels:
First, as noted, if the files were deleted, then the updates were declined on the upstream server, so they should now be declined on the downstream server.
Second, I have no idea what you mean by "red X representing an invalid software update". I'm not familiar with any such icon. Can you provide a screenshot?
Third, the servers are not "still getting the metadata". They get it ONCE. The day it arrives in the environment. After that, it's there FOREVER... unless deleted by the Server Cleanup Wizard.
As I already explained, theoretically the files should be synced up, but they don't and when I say that they are represented by a red X I am referring to the Microsoft's Technical Reference for the Icons Used for Software Updates which you can find here
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848254.aspx
So here is the thing, you are saying that the metadata is there forever, but is it? I mean if the server cleanup gets rid of it that means it’s not there forever, right? Maybe I am missing something? As a side note, I did run the server cleanup wizard, and
it did not remove it since the icons with the red X's are still there...
So first question: Have you used the Server Cleanup Wizard on the downstream servers?
Yes, and it did not help. I am still seeing bad updates, as these ones for example –
Not possible, except by declining the update on the upstream server. Which should have already replicated.
Declining updates does not help me in this scenario for postdated KB's, only for the ones going forward.
I'll still need to figure out what you're talking about here, as I have absolutely no idea about these indicators.
Please refer to Microsoft's reference -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848254.aspx
    No, actually. :-//
    Does it now? :P

  • Apps don't update after region change in itunes!

I have changed my free USA iTunes account region to Hungarian (and added my bank account to it).
After that my previously bought apps don't update automatically, and manually too.
They don't show up in the purchased list either.
I have tried to update Skype manually (I have the 3.7.6 for my iPad), it downloads the newest version (3.8), but still keeps the original version.
The automatic update keeps saying no updates available.
If I redownload any previously purchased it still doesn't show up in purchased list (iTunes says I have to buy again),
Please help me! I can't change my region back to USA, because I don't have any bank account in the US (Apple won't allow to "downgrade" my paid account to free).
    Thanks for help
    Tom from Hungary

Go to the App Store and look for the version dates. Perhaps the developers haven't updated their apps yet.
