If you want the newest version of the app, delete the pirated version and buy the new version.

On my iPhone 4, the Facebook app won't let me sign on with my account. I can sign on to another account just fine. The first time I sign on with the FB app it goes to the news feed page, says loading, and then flipps between loading and connection error. If I close out of that and try to sign in again it locks up on the logging in page. From Safari or google it goes to the log in page, after entering my email and password it goes right back to the log in page. I have tried resetting my phone, deleting and re-installing the app and everything else I can think of. Since I can log onto another account on my phone it can't be the app, any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Did you buy this machine used or "open box" by any chance?
The free iLife suite is tied to the AppStore now and copy protected, so if OS X was wiped off the drive and iLife reinstalled from AppStore, it's registered to the person owning the AppleID that installed it.
Even if the machine gets transfered to a new owner and had a copy of free iLife like other software Apple bundles with OS X, it can't be updated without the original AppleID.
Surprising Steve Jobs said that copy protection won't work when dealing with the music labels, but on the other hand copy protects everything on AppStore instead of by developer choice instead.
There is certainly a case for copy protection in certain cases, but no to the point it's on everything and becomes a problem for everyone.
Your solution to this problem is either use the original AppleID or delete iPhoto and purchase it from AppStore with your AppleID.
Your pictures are stored it the Pictures/iPhoto Library and will remain if you delete the program.
If you wish not to use iPhoto, and need to get your pictures out, right click on the iPhoto Library and "show package contents" ot get to the Origianls folder.

Try signing out of your iTunes account (scroll to bottom in the app), then sign in again.

Trying to update app but asking me to sign in to another unknown account ID
Hi,
I have the app store icon in my dock indicating that an app has an update. I click the app in the the update section and another window appears telling me I have updates for other accounts and that I need to sign into that accound to update applications for that account. The email address for that account is unknown to me. I am not aware of anyone having hacked my account, but it is in the back of my mind naturally that this has occurred. I have changed password on my account so far. I cannot delete the update from the app store even though I have deleted the iphone app from my itunes list. Any thoughts.

So I bought a brand new macbook from Amazon, and it came factory sealed (Not my first time buying a macbook, last one I bought was from Apple directly) but after I got this, I put in my apple I.D. and it told me there were updates available. I told it to go ahead and update, and it updated about half of the list, but the essential stuff (pages, notes, etc) it says "This software was installed using another Apple I.D. Please logon with that I.D. to install the software." I'm a bit baffled by this as it is a brand new mac and so I don't know why anyone else's I.D. would be logged into this mac. I'm not really worried about it though, as I don't really need to update my pages, etc, as I like what I have, but I'd love for this stupid "updates availble" popup to stop popping up every freaking day!!!
Anyone have any suggestions on finding out how to either gain access to update, or get rid of that "other" i.d. that is somehow associated with my brand new macbook?
I'm running OSX 10.9 if that is of any consequence.Then it simply was NOT Brand New. Doesn't matter what the box looked like when you got it or if you went through the setup pages when you first turned it on. If it is registered to some other Apple ID then someone else had originally registered it and locked it to there ID.
Type in the serial number of the system into this page.

And see when it was originally registered.
Then send it back to Amazon as Used.

I am trying to download an app from Itunes on my Iphone and i keep getting a message saying " Could not sign in. An Unknown error has occurred." Does anyone know why i'm getting this message? I have had the same password for years so that is not why...

I purchased my friend ipad with some applications that already downloaded before. I could use those apps & games easily but when i need to update any, i couldn't because i have to have an App account.
I created a new app account, now i can purchase & download any app but i can't update an old App that was purchased through my friend account.
Please take into your concederation that i don't want to delete the App & redownload it as i don't want to miss my data registed before.

You can't transfer purchases from one account to the other. Your friend had no right selling you the iPod with purchases on it made from his account. -
I cannot delete this account because I do not have a password and it is not a valid account anymore. How can I remove this account from my iphone 4s ?
Just because it is an 'old' email doesn't mean it's not a valid Apple ID account.
Is the email that is showing one of your old email accounts? If so, did you ever edit your Apple ID and change the primary email of your Apple ID to a new email, or did you simple create a totally new Apple ID? -
when i try to update my iphoto in app store it keeps asking me to sign in to my account but i am already signed in can someone please tell me how to fix this.
Sign in with the Account you used to purchase the apps, or that you first used when you registered at the App Store. Oher than that you need to contact App Store support. They're the only ones who can fix account issues.

Just to clarify: I purchased some of my older music in iTunes with an account that got deleted. I cannot recover or use this old account. I transferred music from my old iTunes to a new computer and that new iTunes on the new computer is asking me to sign into the old account to authorize the music. So, is there another way to transfer this music to my new iTunes? I'm using a USB thumb drive to transfer the music. Also, music that was purchased with my current account tranfers just fine.

When you forget your security questions and they ask to send an email to another account to recover the security questions ...how do you change that email?
You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

The email that iTunes wants me to sign into is my mums which is weird because my mum has never touched my ipod so i don't why iTunes is asking me to sign into her account.
I've tried finding ways to change it but i can't seam to.
Another thing is that when i download an app, iTunes manages to get the email right and the box pops up with my email account and not my mums.
Please help me change this because i cannot update my apps.

- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
To change the login
- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
You may have apps purchased with her account that need updating.
