Update catalog with new files ? - LR 2.2

I have imported all my files/folders into catalogs in LR2.2
But if I add new files to a folder, the files do not show up
in LR. I guess I have to update/refresh the catalog but how
do I do this ? Do I have to import the folder again, to get
all the new files into the catalogs ?

Right click on the folder when in Library and choose "Synchronise folder.....". This will allow you to import the new files in that folder.

I migrated my Lightroom 5 from a PC to my new Mac. My catalog still has a C: drive and other external hard drives I was using with the windows Computer. I am now trying to Sync the folder with all of my folders on the Mac's external hard drive (different from the one used on the PC) and I am affraid if I uncheck do not import duplicates, I am missing many images because they exist on a different drive of the catalog. Can someone tell me how to remove these old drives from my catalog?

Have you encrypted the backups files from your iPad? If so, that is likely the password needed.

Code doesn't update when uploading new files to website.

code doesn't update when uploading new files to website. I was using an old DW version for a long time then forced to upgrade when I bought my MacBook Pro. Now when I make changes to my pages and link to new files etc on my harddrive, when i upload the pages it won't image because the code still points to harddrive (this did not used to be a problem)... I manually changed the code on the web host site to point to the site and it loaded fine. But now my files on my harddrive also point to the web host files and now don't image on my computer. I never had to worry about this so far and wonder if the new version has a setting I'm supposed to be aware of so that I can design on my hardrive and upload and it knows that the files are being uploaded with it? Ugh hpe this makes sense - I'm NOT a webs designer and the new DW is way more than I use in it's technology.

Library files files are replaced with new files

Almost everyday, when i start iTunes my library files are replaced with new files & then i need to replce the new ones with my backup set

There are a couple of recommended methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one.
Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - Selected playlists in iTunes 7) allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). How can I update Jdev with new JDK

I currently have JDev323 and I wonder how can I update it with new JDK 1.4.

What you should do is update the JDeveloper version that you use - 3.2 is sooooo old.
Get Oracle JDeveloper 9.0.4 and you'll have JDK 1.4 built in.
I don't remember if that feature was in 3.2 but since JDeveloper 9 you can switch the JDK - it is in the online help - do a search for the word JDK.

Updating graph with new data

I have a problem updating my graphs with new data in Illustrator. When I update them with new data each month the y and x-axis tend to change font and size.

You can purchase the enterprise toolkit fron NI, it includes a "database connectivity toolkit".
As regards the design pattern to do you you describe, it will depends on the refresh rate you need and the rate at which you want to write your data to the database.
I would have 2 loops :
- one acquiring the data and putting it in a queue,
- and a second that get the data from the queue, logging data to database and refreshing the graph.
If the write time to database is too long and slows down the graph refresh you place it in another loop.

Help! Lost original folders and files and trying to update website with new information

I lost the original folders and files for my website. I have new files to upload to the site but when I synch, the website still shows the original files. How do I get rid of the old and replace with the updated website files?

1. Are you sure that you are uploading to the proper folder on the remote site?
(have to ask as some people don't realise that the files need to go into a specific folder as specified by their host).
2. Could it be a cache issue with the ISP, Sometiimes it take a while for new files to display if the old ones are still being cached at the ISP level.

Lr folders not synching when I choose synch to update with new files on disk.

I am currently having problems when I try to synch a folder in Lr Library to new files added on my hard drive. This worked before, so what can I trouble shoot to see where the new problem might be???

For me, when I upgraded to Mavericks, my computer was slow for a while - maybe a week or so - until the OS "settled in." How new is Mavericks?
10-15 GB is large or small depending on the percentage that this represents of the entire drive. It would be plenty on a 100 GB drive, and too low on a 500 GB drive.

Action with new file with size from selection

Hello,
I try to record an action that takes a copy of the current image and creates a new file with the same dimensions. The action I record always has the file size of the new image hardcoded in it. I tried to set Preset to Clipboard, but this is not recorded in the action. This is with CS3.
How can I create a new file that takes the current image size into account?

You can record the menu 'Image-Duplicate' to make a copy of the whole image without recording the size. If the doc only has one layer you can also record the flyout menu of the layer's panel to duplicate the layer to a new document. The size will not be recorded.

Itunes won't update nano with new software version

Since the new software update has become available (which I'm hoping might fix my multiples in cover flow issue) I've tried on multiple occasions over a few days to download and install the update on my new nano 4th Gen.
It goes through the licence agreement bit and says it's downloading and will instal when it's done. However after a few minutes it gives an error message that the connection with the itunes server has timed out. It says check your connections and such but all is fine, even itunes own diagnostic connection test is all fine.
I've even tried the restore option but that just dies on it's attempt to get new software too and doesn't get anywhere.
I'm pretty good with computers but this one's now got me stumped.
Anyone got any ideas?

Are you using a dial-up or broadband internet connection? If your using a dial-up connection, that might be your problem. If your using a broadband connectin and your getting this problem, you might just want to contact technical support.

Update TOC, with .eps files connected in the same TOC

HI,
I want to update TOC, and i am unable to do it as .eps files are followed by main TOC.
if the TOC is already created - which file to be added to pragraph tag in add table of content dailogue box. How to recongize which paragph tags were previously tagged in TOC.
Now if i click add TOC> there is nothing on the left side of TOC but create hypertext linkz is checked, still TOC is not working.
When i press ALT+Ctrl click on the topic , no finger pointer appears..
please provide me a solution for this.

1.) I have created a TOC and I want the links to work for whole heading tag, but now the links work only for the page numbers.
How to update TOC with links to heading as well as page numbers.
2. ) Apart rfom this,how to identify which paragraph tag is to be included for the previously generated TOC. Becuase when i try to open this TOC i could not find any paragph tags shown in TOC. how to recongizes which paragraph tags were used to create Table of content for the manual created by others.
