Update Catalog with new Mac

I migrated my Lightroom 5 from a PC to my new Mac. My catalog still has a C: drive and other external hard drives I was using with the windows Computer. I am now trying to Sync the folder with all of my folders on the Mac's external hard drive (different from the one used on the PC) and I am affraid if I uncheck do not import duplicates, I am missing many images because they exist on a different drive of the catalog. Can someone tell me how to remove these old drives from my catalog?

When you reconnect your Lightroom catalog to the photos on your Mac, you need to follow these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
You want to reconnect the top-level folders where your photos were stored as shown in Figure 4.
There is no importing of photos involved, so there is no need to check or uncheck "do not import duplicates"

I have imported all my files/folders into catalogs in LR2.2
But if I add new files to a folder, the files do not show up
in LR. I guess I have to update/refresh the catalog but how
do I do this ? Do I have to import the folder again, to get
all the new files into the catalogs ?

Right click on the folder when in Library and choose "Synchronise folder.....". This will allow you to import the new files in that folder.

There are known technical issues with any older version on Yosemite, even CS6. Some can be worked out, others may not be relevant to you, some will remain unsolved.

Update catalog and new photos?

I have lightroom 5 on a mac desktop. I copied the desktop OS, including lightrom cat and all original photos onto a mac laptop. Since then, i have made changes/edited the photos /cat on the lap-top, as well as uploaded new photos to the lap-top. How can I now sync my new photos and updated catalog to the Mac desktop?

Of the folders that you can see in the Folders panel, right-click on them and select "show parent" just to make sure you can see the tree as it exists on your hard drive.
If the "2012" folder is still not there, pick one of the missing images that should be in the "2012" folder, go through the "find missing" process. This should add the "2012" folder to the Folders panel.

Have you encrypted the backups files from your iPad? If so, that is likely the password needed.

I am talking about iPhoto. In my old Mac even in Books choosing slideshow gives a pop up where you can select a music from I tunes library. In this new one I can stop the slideshow with cursor and it shows music option but it is, as I said dead. Does not response at all to commands.

I can't get the latest 7.2.2 Premiere Pro CC to update on the new Mac Pro computer. Is it not compatible?

CC Manager says I am currently updated to the latest version. When I check my Premiere CC Version I am only on 7.0. I tried manually downloading 7.2.2 .dmg file and it fails.

How can I update Jdev with new JDK

I currently have JDev323 and I wonder how can I update it with new JDK 1.4.

What you should do is update the JDeveloper version that you use - 3.2 is sooooo old.
Get Oracle JDeveloper 9.0.4 and you'll have JDK 1.4 built in.
I don't remember if that feature was in 3.2 but since JDeveloper 9 you can switch the JDK - it is in the online help - do a search for the word JDK.

Updating graph with new data

I have a problem updating my graphs with new data in Illustrator. When I update them with new data each month the y and x-axis tend to change font and size.

You can purchase the enterprise toolkit fron NI, it includes a "database connectivity toolkit".
As regards the design pattern to do you you describe, it will depends on the refresh rate you need and the rate at which you want to write your data to the database.
I would have 2 loops :
- one acquiring the data and putting it in a queue,
- and a second that get the data from the queue, logging data to database and refreshing the graph.
If the write time to database is too long and slows down the graph refresh you place it in another loop.
