Update causes iPod Touch crash - help
Hi,
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post...earlier this evening I was prompted to update the software on my 2nd Gen touch. Part way through it stalled and now doesn't work. Apple seem difficult to get hold of! can anyone lend some helpful, friendly advice please?

If you are getting error 21, then read on.
I had the same problem when trying to do the latest update. Took it back to an apple store and it restored first time on a Mac in the shop. Then came home and restored from a back up and put all my stuff back on (never under-estimate the importance of backing up). The shop recommended I re-install I-tunes in case it has got some corrupt data in it, as I know the problem is not my cable as it worked ok with my Nano. So, it should be able to be sorted for you, you need to get it to a Mac.

Was updating my ipod touch and it was all going ok until the white apple with the bar came up and then itunes crashed out, it is still on with the white apple and i cant turn it off please help me this has been like this for 30 minutes
Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

New software update for iPod touch 4th generation? PLEASE HELP!!
Ok so here is the problem: I have the iPod touch 4th generation with software version 4.3 (I have had my iPod for about 7 months) and recently within the past week or so I have started experiencing multiple crashes with many different various apps and games. Just random games crashing and then I noticed it happening with the Facebook app and even Safari on my iPod! I had to get off of my iPod and come on the computer to type this message out because Safari would crash every single time I tried to type this on my iPod! So at first I figured it was the apps and games' problems, but then as more and more began to crash, like Facebook and Safari, I figured it is the Apple software version 4.3 acting up. So I was wondering, is Apple working on a new software update for iPod touch 4th gen.? Or is this a rare problem? Is there anyone out there having this same problem? Or anyone at all that can PLEASE help me?! MANY THANKS!

When updating my ipod touch, it crashed.
When I tried to update my iPod touch today, it crashed in the middle of it somewhere (there is a backup file of at least part of it). It told me I would need to Restore. Restore failed ... so I went to support and followed all the instructions. Updated computer software (twice), disconnected all USB, restarted computer and iPod more than once, tried a different USB port ....
My computer (iTunes) does not recognize that my iPod is plugged in. My iPod has only one screen ... picture to plug into iTunes.
Not concerned about losing any data at this point ... just want my iPod back.
What can I do?If you have tried all of the steps mentioned in support pages then there is nothing you can do except send it back to apple, why they wont acknowledge this as a now very common error I dont know but it is, I got my first Ipod on Sunday just gone plugged it in bang same error you have and none of the advice helps, it just wastes your time...Get on to apple and send it back for repair

- I would start with the following unless you revoed and reinstall all Apple software, not just iTunes:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Hi all, I've recently updated my ipod touch to the ios 6 and now i cant seem to use it with my itunes
whenever i connect my ipod to itunes, a notification saying that i need a newer version of itunes. However, when i check itunes for software updates, it seems i have the current version of itunes

I need help. When I download the ios 3.1 software update to my first generation ipod touch, I click download and i says it will be done in 30 minutes dont disconnect ect... Usually when i download something my ipod flashes download and it shows the time left on the top of itunes. Nothing happens today and it just stays on the instructions page. When I hit done it takes me to the appstore on my mac! HELP!!!!!
