Update changed all photos to icons

I updated my phone this morning, first cyan and then denim.
I newer updated before. The update have changed all my photos to different icons.
Is there anyway i can get my photos back?
I havent saved them anywhere than my phone.
Thank you

Hello, capriole. Welcome to the Microsoft Mobile Community! Do you mean the phone only shows icons instead of thumbnails of the actual photos you have in it? Is it possible for you to share some screenshots of the icons you see? What's the exact model of your mobile device? Have you tried checking if your pictures can still be accessed using a PC via USB connection?
Since the issue happened after the SW update, have you verified if the system apps have been updated as well? To confirm it, go to your phone's settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates.
Let us know how it will go.

  • Changing all photos in event to SAME date

I have many photos in an event that have a variety of dates.  I would like to change all photos to the SAME date.  All I can figure out to do is change the first photo, but then all of the other photos are time-shifted and still have different dates.  Other than changing the date of each photo individually, what can I do?  Thanks!

Select them all and use the batch change date and time command

  • Most recent update changed all font sizes. What is best method to change back to to preexisting Fonts

The most recent update changed all font sizes (smaller). What is the best method to enlarge?

yeah, that's what I ended up doing late last night because the white font against pale gray background was driving me nuts. I hadnt changed anything. been using the same theme for about 4 months but then all of a sudden, like I said, the font color mysteriously changed.
    anyway, thanks for your help.

  • Want to change ALL photos in finished project from 'Tint' to 'Color Tint'

Is there an easier way to change all photos that have a 'tint' effect to another effect without having to manually go into each image?
I have a nearly finished 90 min doc that has a plethera of stills that I have added a 'Tint' from Image Control effect. However I have found that in many of my dissolves there seems to be some green frames thrown in the mix, (ONLY within the dissolve?) Anyhow, I found a work-around:
By changing the original tint effect from dropdown----Effects; Video Filters; Image Control; Tint
    to
Effects; Video Filters; Quicktime; Color Tint.
For whatever reason, this corrects my random 'green frame' action.
So does anyone know if there is some kind of batch edit that I can do, that recognizes all the images w/ Tint and change it to Color Tint in felt swoop?
If not in FCP 5.1.2, maybe in 6?
    Thanks,
    Zack

    hi,
boring but you can add the effect to the first still. Then apple -C it. Then select all the clips you want to change (apple-click will select no contigous clips) then select Remove Attributes from the edit menu. Select the Filters checkbox. Then select Paste Attributes from the edit menu. Select filters again and you're done.
    hope this helps

  • Change all photo lengths at once

Is there a way I can go in and change all of the lengths of imported photos in a slideshow on the timeline at one time, rather than picture by picture?
My son is wanting to make a stop motion animation and we can do it one by one, but it is becoming too time consuming.
    Thanks

Select a continous string of photos in your timeline. Go to Media/Photos/Show Photo Settings. Set your duration in the duration box. Click on Update. All the photos will change to the same duration that you set.
    Another way:
Drag the first photo into your time line. Control click on it. Select Show Info. Manually change the duration to whatever length you want in the duration box. Click on Media/Show Photo Settings in your iMovie window pane. It should show the length you set as the duration. Now drag in the rest of your photos, and they should all be the duration you set.

  • Reader 9.1.3 update changes all icons to Adobe

The other day when Adobe Reader "automatically" updated all of the program icons were changed over Adobe icons and nothing would open up, other than an attempt to open up in Adobe Reader (obviously without success.  I finally uninstalled Reader and all icons magically returned to normal and all was right with the world until I tried to open a .pdf file (obviously without success as I now had no Reader!).  I tried to download the program again this morning and had the same issue all over again.  I once again had to uninstall Reader (it's not easy when EVERYprogram file you have now seems to be associated with Adobe Reader and some of them were startup programs!!!  I actually had to go into msconfig to shut them down and then reboot before uninstalling Reader.  I wasn't impressed!!).  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (currently up to date courtesy of Microsoft (?)) and I do have Adobe Acrobat Standard Ver 8 Standard.  Does anyone have any ideas here?  What's going on?  I have seen a number of others with this same problem on both Adobe and Microsoft forums, but so far no solutions.

    Solution 1: Registry fix
Disclaimer: The registry contains system-related information that is critical to your computer and applications. Before modifying the registry, be sure to make a backup copy of it (Win 7, Win Vista). Adobe doesn't provide support for problems that can arise from improperly modifying the registry. Adobe strongly recommends that you have experience editing system files before you modify the registry. For information on the Windows Registry Editor, see the documentation for Windows or contact Microsoft Technical Support.
Apply the applicable registry fixes available at the following links:
Download and save the applicable file: For Win Vista or Win 7.
Unzip/Extract the contents (.REG file) to desktop.
Make sure you have administrative privileges. Then, right-click on the .REG file and select Merge.
    Restart the machine.
If issue persists, Implement Solution 2.
Solution 2: Force a refresh of the icon cache.
In order to refresh the shell icons, follow these steps:
    Click Start, Default Programs.
    Click ‘Set your default programs’.
Select a web browser, email client or any other item in the list.
Click the ‘Set this program as default’ button.
    Click OK.
If issue still persists, then reboot and check.
Solution 3: Purge and rebuild the IconCache.db file.
    Method 1:
Show Hidden Files and Folders: Vista; Wndows 7.
Browse to ‘C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local’ folder and delete the hidden IconCache.db file.
    Reboot.
If issue persists, repeat Solution 2.
    Method 2:
    Using Command Prompt:
Close all folder windows that are currently open.
Launch Task Manager using the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC key sequence, or by running taskmgr.exe.
In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
Click the End process button when asked for confirmation.
From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…)
    Type CMD.EXE, and click OK
In the Command Prompt window, type the commands one by one and press ENTER after each command:
    CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
    DEL IconCache.db /a
    EXIT
In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run…)
    Type EXPLORER.EXE, and click OK.
    Reboot.
If issue persists, repeat Solution 2.
Solution 4: Create a new local Administrator user account and test the issue.

  • Update thumbnails - all photos gone, please help

I was prompted to update my thumbnails in my iPhoto library. I chose yes and now all my photos are gone.
I tried already the alt key and I am being asked to create a new library or to choose an existing one. If I choose again the existing one it opens empty. I tried as well the iPhotolibrary Manager but it recovers only my photos, no events, dates and the library is then a bit messy.
Anyone experiencing the same problem? I am using iPhoto '08 7.1.5.

This won't help you know but in the future if you have similar issues the tip at the end of my signature below can help you quickly recover.
*HOWEVER, I think I've found a way you can get that Library6.iPhoto file out of TM:*
1 - while *in the Finder* open the Backups.backupdb folder on your Time Machine drive.
2 - drill down to the Pictures folder in your user account for the date just before the problem occurred.
3 - Control+click on the iPhoto library package and select Show Package contents from the drop down menu.
4 - locate and drag the Library6.iPhoto file to your desktop.
5 - replace the damaged file with the one from TM.
I think that will do it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Change duration of all photos

How do you change the duration of all photos? I have over 100 photos in my movie, and they automatically import at a default length of 5 sec. Is there a way to change the default import setting for clip/photo duration? Or is there a way to batch change all photos in my movie to a set duration if I want them all to be the same length? Rather than changing the length of each photo individually...

There is a problem with the photo settings for very short clips from stills. The Ken Burns setting goes wonky for clips less than 18 frames -- not just the zoom extents, but number of frames, also.
While you can set a still to a minimum of three frames (0:00:03), you cannot do it from the Photo Settings dialog box -- and you can only make the settings one clip at a time.
If you double-click on a frame (or control-click and choose "Show Info"), you'll get a "Clip info" dialog in which the clip's duration can be changed to 0:00:09 frames. But you may have to change your work-flow habit just a bit. Select the target photo in the media panel. When the Photo Settings box appears, uncheck Ken Burns, reduce the duration slider to minimum, and zoom and position the shot as desired. Then click "Apply" to place the still photo on the clip viewer. Once your photos are on the clip viewer, double-click them (one-at-a-time) to open the Clip Info window for that clip. Set your intended duration and move on to the next one.

  • Changing ALL icons

I found a really cool folder icon, and I'd like to know if there's a way where I can change all of the icons in a folder without going through each one? I'd rather NOT use third-party software to do this. Appreciate any help, guys and girls!

It doesn't mess up mine, but I know what I'm doing, and I have a clone of my current system, and all my own data backed up multiple times.
First of all, the "really cool icon" you've found must be in the icns format. If it isn't, stop right now.
The one you need to change is here:
    "/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/GenericFolderI con.icns"
If you don't know how to get there, stop now.
Drag the GenericFolderIcon.icns onto your Desktop (it will be copied, not moved) and rename it to something like GenericFolderIconOld.icns and then rename your replacement to GenericFolderIcon.icns. Remember, it MUST be in icns format, just giving any old thing the icns extension doesn't make it an icns file. Then drag your replacement icon into the Resources folder, you will be asked if you want to replace the original, and be told that you can't. The warning is in a dialog box with two buttons, one says Authenticate. Click it, then give your admin password when asked. You will at least have to log out and back in, and might even have to restart for the change to take effect.

  • HT203421 I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps.  Does anyone know what is happening

I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps.  Does anyone know what is happening here? Even updating an older game app resulted in the original game icon changing to the new identical icon that all new apps are appearing with.  This new icon is like a page with a ruler, pencil and paintbrush. Any tips on how to stop this or how to revert to the icon as it appears on the app store would be appreciated.

  • 'All Photos' is sorted randomly. Cannot be changed.

    Ok, this is very frustrating.
    I have 10.10.3 and Photos 1.0 (209.52.0).
I've just dragged about 9000 photos in Photos (all taken with my various iPhones over the years, correct metadata, EXIF, etc). Everything imported fine, with the exception that the 'All Photos' album is randomized. I see a 2013 photo at the very bottom with a bunch of 2015 photos. At the very top are some photos I took before I dragged the 9000 extra in there. Basically it's not respecting photo capture date AT ALL, and is maybe sorting by date/time of import instead. 'Keep sorted by date added' is checked (but frustratingly, greyed out).
If I go to Years mode, everything is correct as it should be. I can also go into individual albums and sort by date or name.
It's annoying because 'All Photos' follows the same order on my iPhone too, so i'm seeing a bunch of mixed up photos.
If I drag 9000 photos into Photos, why in the heck would I want that sorted by date added?
Anybody else seeing this? I reported this as a bug in the public beta, but no fix so far.
I really want to like Photos, but man…

Yeah, I do acknowledge that it's 'date added' rather than 'date captured' in the post. I just meant that it still appeared random to me.
I figured out what the problem was, and the following post is a solution…
Turns out a bunch of the files (i.e. the ones out of order) had erroneous file creation dates that didn't match up to the actual capture date. Not sure how that happened. Some were saying they were 'created' several years after they actually were.
So it looks like (at least when importing) Photos just scans the file creation date rather than the EXIF data. Maybe it's faster to do that, but it's kind of sloppy of Apple. They should know that file creation dates can get messed up.
To fix all this, I used the excellent ExifTool, which can sync creation/modify date to EXIF. If you don't have ExifTool, the easiest method is to get it using Brew, at http://brew.sh
Once brew is properly installed and updated, simply type into terminal…
    brew install exiftool
Once you have that installed, in terminal I 'cd' to the folder of images and then run…
    ExifTool "-FileModifyDate<DateTimeOriginal" *
The * basically just means modify every file in that folder. I know that UNIX doesn't officially acknowledge creation dates, but this command changes BOTH creation and modification dates to be the same, which is fine in my opinion.
I then reimported all the images and everything in All Photos is sorted as it should be. Phew!

  • All photos can see in small icons in iPhoto, but can't open it or see it!

    Dear all,
I got problem in iPhoto, please help!
All photos can see in small icons in iPhoto, but I can't open it or can't see it when I click on photos (it always appear black & white "!" inside big circle. I even can't sync any of these photos in my iPhone.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Recently chgd Apple ID and PW.  After update all photos were gone from Photo Stream.  How do I get back?

Recently updated Apple ID and PW.  After change, all the photos were gone from Photo Stream.  How do I get them back?

Did you create these notes in the iPad notes App ... I assume?
This support article will explain how you can restore from a backup - which is what you have to do in order to have any chance of recovering your note.
How to backup and restore from a backup
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
But you have to remember, that you will lose any of the notes that you have taken since the date of the last backup. If you synced your iPad last week, then you will lose a whole week of current notes - or whatever notes you have created since your last backup. When you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup onto the iPad - that was on the iPad on the time and date of the backup.
If you backup every day, then all of your notes should be recoverable from the backup - except for any notes that you took since you last backed up. There is no foolproof way to recover everything once you start taking more notes or creating new documents or whatever that you do in an app unless you are syncing those notes with iCloud and backing up all of the time or unless the app is set to sync with iCloud as you work on the files - like in Pages, Numbers or Keynote - Apple's iWorks apps.
If you decide to restore from an iTunes backup you should turn off at sync before you try restoring because iTunes will want to backup your iPad right away when you plug it in and you will lose your old or last backup.

  • I wanted to syncing my itunes to my ipad 2 (ios 4.3.3) and update to ios 5. but i did not have back up. So i lost all photos   other files. Pls help...Txs

    Hello,
I wanted to syncing itunes to my ipad2 in order to upgrade ios from 4.3.3 to 5 but lost all photos + all other files...
    txs for your help:)

Scroll down and see the "Update Your Device Using iTunes" section here:
    HT4623
There is no "update icon" in iOS versions earlier than iOS 5.
The update is very large (over 1.2 gigabytes).  You need a good internet connection to download it to your computer.  Maybe you'll need to take a trip to a city to get a good enough connection.

  • Lost all photos after a software update

I really hope someone can help here as I'm pretty desperate!
My iMac, running OS 10.4.11 recently offered a software upgrade on-line to iPhoto, to iPhoto 8 (7.14)
I accepted and when I tried to launch it next it said it couldn't show any photos and quoted that it needed to update the thumbnails. I accepted that it should do so. Nothing seemed to happen and no pictures showed after the supposed re-build stopped.
On quitting and re-launching I found to my horror that it had lost all photos, events, folders etc. meaning I'd lost over 400 pictures of our 3 year olds.
I searched for advice and have tried some remedies to library failures posted here but to no avail. All I could do was copy in pictures from my hard disc back-up folder and my iDisk but these stop at July 2008. I'm gutted, my wife will kill me so what on earth can I do?
Plus, to Apple - thanks! How the **** can this happen?

There's no reason to panic. Simply you have a damaged database file.
