Update date approaching want some help before going into store

Hi my renew date is approaching (22nd of this month) I currently have 3 phones on my family plan 1 of which I do not want to have removed and have my current plan downgraded as I wont need as many minutes should this create any problems when I go to renew the other 2 lines on the phone? Thanks for any help just dont want to go to the store and look like an idiot in 3 weeks.

Well you answered part which I kinda new but I'm I able to cancel my that 1 line at the same time which would be the 20th month of the 2 year contract
You cannot cancel the 2 year contract without an Early Termination Fee (ETF) until after the end of 24 months.  Typical ETF's at the 20th month mark are $75 0r $150 depending on the type of phone purchased with the original upgrade.  It will probably be cheaper to maintain the line throught he 24th month.

Have you tried connecting the iPad to your computer and using iTunes to restore to factory settings? These are the basic steps.
    You can read more here.

Do not restore from a backup at the end if you want to restore as new.
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button.
    Click Restore

-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

  • Help: Macbook goes into deep sleep instead of sleeping

Any time my Mac is supposed to go into sleep, like when I leave it alone for 15 mins or close the lid, it goes into deep sleep (hibernates). How do I fix this?
Also, it started happening after I changed the starup disk from Windows to OS X through the boot camp control panel in Windows.

Just reset the SMB following these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 and still having the same problem. However I realized two key things:
The computer goes into Deep Sleep mode whenever I tell it to Sleep (Even if I use the Sleep button in the Apple menu)
The above only happens when the power adaptor is plugged in. When running on batteries Sleep seems to work properly
While typing this up I just realized that a widget I have called Deep Sleep for dashboard might be causing my problems, and sure enough... it is. Apparently there is a setting on there that lets you make your Mac's "regular" sleep mode Deep Sleep and I probably turned this on without realizing it. For anyone who's reading this I'll try to keep you posted on if this fixed the problem or not... if I don't post anything else on here you can assume it's fixed. Watch out if you use the Deep Sleep widget

  • Running extremely slow after most recent software update. Would love some help troubleshooting and fixing, thank you!

Hi folks. Since my last software update, my computer has slowed to a near halt. Help!
    I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.8.2. 2.26 Ghz / 8 gb memory.
I went into the Disk Utility and ran "verify disk," and got an "ok." Verified and repaired disk permissions. No idea if they're relevant.
At this moment the activity monitor is showing 3.79 gb of free memory -- 10 minutes ago, when I was doing nothing particularly differently, it showed all 7.99 gb in use (active and inactive -- I have. No idea what this means.)
It's all beach balls around here, all the time. Any ideas?

Your problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination. In Activity Monitor, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the  Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more memory over time without ever releasing it.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details:

  • Wanting some input before replacing the LCS on my G5 Quad

Hello all, I have a G5 Quad Core 2.5ghz (late 2005 model A1117) with 8GB ram and OS 10.4.11.  Starting a few months ago it began to overheat and go into emergency sleep mode, as well as freeze completely at times, requiring forced shut down.  This has gotten worse over time (once a day to maybe 5-6 times/day).  I didn't make the connection until just a few weeks ago that it was likely related to temps so now I'm kicking myself, worried that damage might have been permanently done because it's been going on for so long.
Of the 4 cores, 2 of them (the 2 on Chip A) are fairly in sync and will run at about 140˚F when performing a certain cpu intensive operation.  The 3rd core when running that same operation will maybe be 165˚F but 4th core will be upwards of 200 - 210˚F+.  If the 4th core gets too hot - boom goes either emergency sleep mode or just freezing/hanging.  Running the computer on the "reduced" cpu setting (energy saver setting) will keep the temps from overheating, but the same disproportionate temperatures are still there when running any given operation-  ie, core 3 is ≈20% higher and core 4 is ≈50% higher than cores 1 and 2.
I've spent hours pouring over similar stories online that people have had, and what they've done about it -mostly having to do with replacing or re-building the Liquid Cooling System.  I finally got up the courage after a good load of research to unmount/remove the CPU board and LCS so I could see if there were any signs of problems.  I saw absolutely no corrosion in the tubing/pump system, no signs of leaks or "crystals" that form from dried coolant.  I didn't go so far as to separate the CPU board from the LCS (a little afraid to take that step today as time was somewhat limited) but when inspecting it closely from all sides (looking between the cpu board and the LCS) I just can't see any signs of coolant leaks or any other problems, other than some dust, which I suppose could be a factor.  After some deliberation, I've come to the following conclusions:
    1)  There must be adequate coolant in the LCS/pump as 2 of the cores are within normal temps.  It seems to me that if there were coolant leaks, pump defects, low coolant, etc, that all the core temps would suffer, not just the 3rd and 4th.
    2)  My best guess is that the thermal paste that connects the LCS to the 2nd chip with CPUs 3 and 4 is somehow worn or not applied correctly at this point.  To me that would explain why one core is slightly overheating and the other is massively overheating - the paste is somehow disproportionately affecting them - just a guess though.
    3)  I'm also concerned that even if I attempted to reapply the thermal paste, that perhaps after months of this the 4th core is somehow damaged anyway, and new thermal paste wouldn't change that.  Just a guess, my knowledge is definitely limited there.
Because of these conclusions, my first instinct is to simply find a replacement CPU board and LCS system on Ebay (like THIS) and replace it.  I REALLY don't see any reason to rebuild the LCS as it seems like I would simply make things worse, not to mention it frightens me.  I could maybe be convinced to reapply the thermal paste but from what I've read you have to be careful you don't apply too much or too little, it has to be the perfect amount and it's hard to apply, etc.
SOOOO... my question is, before I jump and buy a new cpu/LCS, are there ANY other thoughts as to what this problem might be?  Do you feel like I'm on the correct track in what I'm thinking or am I missing something?  I know there are MANY people on here much smarter than me!!!
Let me know if you'd like any additional details, happy to provide them...  Thanks!
    Greg
CPU-B - shot between board and LCS:
CPU-A - Shot between board and LCS:

2 chips, 4 cores, 2 cores each chip.
CPU A is the upper, CPU B the lower.
1 processor with 2 hot cores= poor cooling or a failing processor due to poor cooling.
You must also consider that core loading is not equal. One (or more) cores will almost always work more than the others.
    Blame the OS.
Your analysis also fails to take into account sludge buildup in the LCS.
Just because there are no visible leaks does not mean that the LCS functions correctly.
Same goes for the pumps; just running or running properly?
How about the ethylene glycol? Cars can't run the stuff forever, why should a computer? 2 years is the recommended replacement cycle in a car.
Back flushing sludge from the radiator an important maintenance proceedure.
The stuff in your computer is 7+ years old.
What makes it different than a car?
Only the tires and internal combustion.
Coolant is worn out, I'd say.
Same for thermal compound. Compound of the era was 3-5 years useful life at best.
The thermal compound is baked and has lost thermal conductivity.
    OK.
It's up to you. Learn from all that have gone before and rebuild the LCS and have a cool running Quad.
Or, buy a used LCS that will quite likely show the same behavior as the current one does.
How far in the future is anyones guess.
As for the thermal compound, play it safe and replace it. Use a non silver based compound and you will have safety on your side.
Use Arctic Cooling MX-4 and you will have a high tech, highly thermally conductive, electrically non-capacitive and non-conductive, 8 year high performance compound.
An old tutorial of mine, but it gives you the jist of what to do:
    9AE7FE0E-0CF2-4A7C-8003-489B282582BC.html
AS forthe processors themselves, the OS kexts force the machine to shutdown before damage occurs.
Granted you pushed the machine when it was screaming for help and attention, but, bottom line is that the kexts likely did their job.
Replace all, replace the processors, or replace the cooling?
Me, I would repair the cooling issue, THEN look for other ways to spend money.

  • Total Noob wanting some help

Hi guys I just got new job and they use CF over here. My
first small project is thowing me for a loop just because I've
never really worked databases before. I'm looking for some starting
help. We have this intranet site that everyone here uses to place
orders and stuff, they all use bunches of databases. And what my
boss is wanting me to do is find a way to put a count of all the
items in a database that match a certian criteria on the main page.
So what I need is a way to count database items. Help would be
helpful. Like I said I'm a total n00b and forgive me if you can't
make heads or tails of this. I'd be glad to explain more in depth
    for help. Thanks guys
    Kevin

Well, let says that you want to get a count of everything in
your ITEMS table that has a QUANTITY of at least 3 and a PRICE of
greater than $5.00 (assuming that QUANTITY and PRICE and columns
    within the ITEM table)
A real simple way of handling this app would be to first do
the query and then out put the result. Your entire application
    would be:
    <cfquery name="qGetItemCount"
    datasource="datasourceName">
    SELECT Count(*) AS itemCount
    FROM items
    WHERE quantity >= 3
    AND price > 5
    </cfquery>
    <cfoutput>#qGetItemCount.itemCount#</cfoutput>
And that is it. It only gets more complicated from there, and
you need to strongly consider some learning resources if you want
to excel at ColdFusion. It is an easy language to learn and use,
but, like any other language, it should not be fuddled through.
Note: You'll need to get your datasourceName from your
    administrator.

  • At times when dragging the vertical scroll bar my computer screen oscillates up and down for some time before going blank or not responding to any clicks requiring a forced system restart. What is wrong?

    Hi,
Suddenly while working with Firefox if I happen to drag the vertical scroll bar, a very abnormal behavior occurs. My screen dances up and down for a short time before either going black or getting restored but with no clicks working. The only way to resume is to force a restart of the system.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

  • Need some help before buying my first Mac... please

    Hi
Before I start I have searched for the answers via Google but I'm still getting maybe type results.
Can OSX automatically map drives to a Windows server/NAS when the user logs in?
Can OSX maintain the shares when users fast switch between accounts on the same iMac?
Will OSX reconnect to the mapped drive when coming out of sleep/suspend mode?
I'm not talking AD (Active Directory) just Windows Work Group authentication.
For me this could be a deal breaker if OSX can't do the above.
    Many thanks

Can OSX automatically map drives to a Windows server/NAS when the user logs in?
We have cifs file servers at work, I have no problem connecting to them. To make an automatic connection at login, first time you connect, check the "remember password" checkbox and then drag the mounted server icon into your login items in System Preferences > Accounts > your account. Personally, I like dragging the connected share icon onto the dock, then I have a single-click user/password-less dynamic mount as needed, when needed, rather than always autoconnecting at login whether I need it or not.
Can OSX maintain the shares when users fast switch between accounts on the same iMac?
    does for me
Will OSX reconnect to the mapped drive when coming out of sleep/suspend mode?
seems to -- I slept my computer when I had a cifs drive mounted -- upon awakening, it was like my cifs mount never left.
I'm not talking AD (Active Directory) just Windows Work Group authentication.
I don't know much about that, my work is a Windoze World and I don't even know if I have to worry about that -- they haven't been by to integrate me into AD, yet, though, although they keep threatening to do so, if they ever get all their other Windows network problems fixed. http://ifelix.net/tech might have some info that might be helpful to you insofar as file sharing between other Windows clients and printing to Windows print servers. Not for the latest OSs of each though, but some of the older OS-pairings are pretty well documented there.

  • Wants Some Help About Package Spec

    Hi Friends,
I developed one package spec in my Report.
It has around 40 Ref Cursors.
I created 40 Functions for those Ref Cursors.
Right now all are in my Report at client end.
At present the performance is very slow.
Can i maintain these Package spec & Functions
in data base side? If possible how ?
If i maintain like that my performance is
    increases or not?

You should be able to move those to the server. Read Chapter 6 in Oracle Report Documentation. Just click on topic "Documentation" on your left to find documentation on report.

  • Ipod updater, i really need some help can no body help?

Everything seems to be working except for the fact that my ipod won't synch with itunes, it keeps saying this ipod needs updating. The problem seems to be that when i load the updater to update my ipod it freezes then falls over. I have reinstalled more than 4 times so its not that, what if anything can i do?

See if you can restore your iPod while it is in disk mode.

    Restoring iPod:

Be advised that restoring the iPod will erase anything that is on it, but as long as you have it on your computer/in iTunes, you'll be able to put everything right back on it.
