when the recommended update is downloading it asks for the editor to be closed when it is not open and then just end up in a loop of download /close

Having trouble updating Elements Organizer 11

Having trouble updating Elements Organizer 11. I started it using Administrator priveleges, disabled firewall but keep getting "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline". I am using Windows 8.1 x64. My current version is 11.0.0.0. I read that you may need to go into Adapter Settings and disable:
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter
Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter
but I didn't see those listed! Help!

Very frustrated! What do you mean by "focusing on my host files"? Every other reputable software company I know of has direct downloadable updates in case their "update manager" doesn't work, so I'm not sure why Version 11 of PSE doesn't have this capability. I need to get my software updated! Please help me (and I'm not the only one) get this working so I can move on to greater things. Please be specific (I'm pretty good with computers so don't be shy).

Cannot view RAW pics or update Elements, help please!

Hi, I have a new Panasonic Lumix FZ28 and I just bought and installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac. I just returned from vacation where I used my new camera, but when I tried to view my pics, only my jpeg files show up. So, I tried to update Elements which installed normally, but it will not update. It says, "The updater is unable to locate the product to be updated"! What?? It's trying to update the RAW 4.6 update. I don't know what to do.
iPhoto won't upload my RAW pics either. It shows them on the screen, but won't import them. I also tried copying the memory card to my external hard drive, which it did, but it also doesn't show my RAW pics. Why is this so difficult!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is all new to me.

Perhaps true, but no other application I know of will completely manage an accurate transfer of data from one computer to another. Indeed, given the complexity inherent in data transfer a 100% transfer in every respect may well have success odds greater than that of Powerball which, I'm told, would give the ticket purchaser a much better chance of getting struck by lightning twice before receiving a winning number.
In any case, I have learned from participation in other forums that too much information is usually more damaging in the quest for the "magic" logic process that delivers solution. Hence my restriction to information I felt was not only application specific, but relevant.
I thank you in no small amount. There was no way I could have figured out Adobe was leading me on a wild goose chase for the holy grail. Not their fault. A big company with lots of products can't help but miss a few links here and there. Your attention to forum posts and willingness to help has been extremely informative and hugely appreciated. I hope this discussion thread will be of value to others.

You have two alternatives:
(1) Upgrade to PSE 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Updating Elements 9 with Camera Raw 6.5

I updated Elements version 9 with camera raw 6.5 but it still won't open NEF files from my Nikon D7100. The read me file says it should support this camera.

Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 was the first to support D7100 RAW files

Your other option is to convert your NEF files to DNGs using the free DNG converter then edit the DNGs in Elements 9

Is it possible to use BAPI_NETWORK_MAINTAIN for "creating activity element" as well as "updation of activity element" both at a same time.
As i am getting error in the creation part of element.
Please do suggest me the way for CREATE/UPDATE element using BAPI_NETWORK_MAINTAIN one time in the program.

After downloading the ".zip" file, use the operating system or a utility such as WinZip or PKZIP to access the file's contents.
- Extract contents from the ZIP file.
- Double-click the EXE file to start the installation process.
- You should get a "Successfully Installed" message at the end of the installation.

Cannot update Elements 9

I keep getting an error that the server is busy when I try to update Elements 9. Have tried this at several times of the day, from several different locations. the problem is on my Windows 7 laptop 64 (HP). No problems updating the Vista 64 machine.

After being on phone hold with Adobe help for an hour, I finally got someone who I think had the answer. The 6.4 update has not officially been released yet for Elements.
If you go here, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows, you can see that 6.4 isnt available for elements (although if you go there now, I see they released a 6.4.1 just recently, so that may in fact work. I havent tried it yet.)

The value of an element is stored in a child node of that element. For example, let's say that "e" references the node <Description> then:
e.getFirstChild().getNodeValue() => "My Test Case"

Updated elements 12.1 with Mavericks 10.9.2 STILL has SIGNIFICANT problems

I have updated BOTH the Mac OS and Photoshop Elements to their latest levels. I am using a Nikon D5100 running RAW + JPEG, and have approximately 25k photos. Before the upgrade of Photoshop I would crash at random times. Now I am experiencing freezing when I download new photos. I always use a card reader, never the camera, to download the photos. I am informed, by the software, that the photo downloader has stopped responding. I can restart the process by forcing the downloader to close. Then I freeze AGAIN when it appears the downloading has completed and NEF photos are starting to be processed. At that point I have to force elements. Upon restart the photos SEEM to all be there. BUT the latest problem is a message that the index could not be updated.
As you can see I am VERY willing to try and get all this to work, but it is becoming increasingly frustrating. The 12.1 update has most definitely made improvements. BUT, there is A LOT to go! I would LOVE to hear some constructive help. At this point, how to revert back to Elements 11 would be very helpful. Unless there is VERY SIGNIFICANT improvement Elements 12 is just not worth the effort.

Can I update elements 11 to import olympus RAW files from my new OM-D M5 mk 2?

I have bought a new Olympus OMD E-M mark 2. Great, but my copy of Elements 11 won't import its RAW files. I have tried to instal RAW 6.4.1 and RAW 7.1 patches but the installer just says it's the wrong version even though I downloaded from a Elements page. I've just re-installed the Application Manager and that didn't help. Please can you help me find the right patch and get it working?

Unable to update Elements 6 for Mac

Am having problems updating my program. Adobe updater in Elements 6 indicates that I need to update and download "Adobe Camera Raw 4.6" Once I download the progran and try to install it, I get an installer message that says "The update is unable to locate the product to be updated" and that "Adobe Camera RAW 4.6 update failed to install." I am on a trial version and am wondering if that is my problem. Any ideas?

You should always use the latest ACR for your version of Photoshop; there maybe changes under the hood from earlier versions, not just added cameras.
