This month's Windows Updates shows an optional update for me to update the Intel HD Graphics card. It says released by Intel January 2015 and released by Microsoft 3/12/2015. It looks like a more up to date driver but it will not install, instead I get that
error 80070103.
I googled the error and it seems to indicate that the version of my driver is more recent than the version Windows Update wants to give me. I don't think that's right though, based on the dates. In the Device Manager when I click on the display adapter and
update driver it says the driver is already the most recent version. But it's not.
Any ideas?

Hi farai, welcome to the HP Forums. If your computer appears to be powering on, but you cannot see the screen it may be a recoverable situation.
This document will help you diagnose the issue, it looks like you have already done Step 1 (hard reset):
Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 8)
If you get to Step 3, the options listed won't work since you indicated you cannot get into your BIOS. In place of Step 3 in that document, you can try to restore your BIOS using this method: Restoring the BIOS
If you get to the end, it says to call HP. If so, it is most likely a hardware issue and you should call support for more options: HP Technical Support, North America 1-800-474-6836. For all other regions click here.

HP Envy 17 Notebook - USB Ports Not Working

Product: HP Envy 17 Notebook PC
Operating System: Windows 8.1
When I try and use the USB ports on my laptop, the system does not acknowledge the device is plugged in, nor allows the device to operate. There are no error messages and the safetly remove hardware icon does not appear. This problem began after I ran a couple of Windows Updates before shutting my computer down for the night.
The devices worked properly before but have since stopped. Multiple devices have been tried, but to no avail.

I would kindly request with you to perform REFRESH on your Notebook to take it back to an earlier state
when everything was working fine and normal
Step 01. Please go to PC Settings on your Notebook
Step 02. Please select General Tab on the left side
Step 03. Click on "Refresh your PC without affecting your files"
Step 04. Follow the On-Screen prompts to complete the Refresh/System Restore

HP Envy 17 Notebook PC Product# G6U47UA#ABL Wifi Not working

Good Morning,
I have a HP Envy 17 Notebook PC Product# G6U47UA#ABL
Processor name: Intel Core i7-4710HQ
I bought this computer 2 weeks ago. All was well until yesterday, when the Wi-Fi stopped working.
All of my other devices are working fine, iPhone my other HP Pavilion laptop, my wireless desktops.
When I click on the Wi-Fi symbol at the bottom it says no networks available. I unplugged the router and connected directly to the HP envy and it said Limited.
**side note.. I restarted the computer and the Wi-Fi came on for all of10 seconds and then reverted back nothing.
I do not have Norton’s or anything like that installed on this computer.

i Just completed going through the list. I did pretty much everything expect for the master reset prior to posting on the forum.
4 mins ago I updated the network adapters and it said the best possible software for your device is already installed.
however now the network icon says limited, but a list of networks are now showing up.
I opened up Firefox and IE and clicked on troubleshoot.
It fixed 1 error and I had internet for 10 seconds.
I clicked on troubleshoot again by pressing the wireless network icon and as it was re-running its diagnostic a message came up on the computer and said "your PC ran into a problem and needs to be restarted. we are collecting some information and we will restart"
The computer restarted it showed full bars in the wireless icon and said I had internet access. I opened up IE and it went back to no internet access.
I opened up the network and it said limited access.
I will try to reset the wireless router again but what's with that error message?

ITunes update error 7 (windows error 1114) on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

I have been trying to update iTunes for the past month. I admit that I had not been keeping up with the updates for about a year but now that I want to update it, I am getting an error.

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2
iTunes update error 7 (Windows error 1114)

R6034 Application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime Library incorrectly. Please contact applications support (that is Apples iTunes) team for information.
I am also getting C Runtime Library error message about once a day since I tried to update iTunes.
What do I do?

I'm getting this Windows update errorError 80070490 (details below)when i try to install the update for my HP Envy 5530 All HP drivers and software are up to date, wifi is connected to printer and working and 1. Ran Windows 7 System File Checker and it came back clean stating: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. 2. Ran Windows System Update Readiness Tool (Hotfix for Windows (KB947821) and it came back with no errors but I cannot get this update to install. Full Error details are shown below. Do I need this update? If so, how do i fix? Thank you for this information. Running the DISM tool is from the Microsoft document I provided from my previous post: Windows Update error 0x80070490. Click on Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 steps. You can still perform this on a Windows 7 computer. I also noticed from your previous post, you downloaded the Hewlett-Packard - Enterprise Multi-Function Printer- HP ENVY 5530 driver. Another step I am going to recommend is uninstalling the HP Envy 5530 software. I want you to get the correct software on your computer. Also, this could help with the Windows error message. Please follow this HP document on Uninstalling the Printer Software from the Control Panel. Next, clean out your Temp folder on your computer by following this document here to help you. Please perform another clean boot before you install the full feature software. Once this is complete, here is the correct download here. Choose your correct operating system; Either 32 bit or 64 bit. Please post your results again!

IPod Updater 2005-09-23 Update error

I have recently used the Apple iPod updater to update my click-wheel 40gig iPod, that is - I tried!
After pressing the update buttom everything went ok until I got a casual 'update error' message. Now I get the neat folder with an exclamation mark on my screen when I start the iPod and it is recognized by neither Windows nor Mac notebooks (or recognized as unformatted)!
I only have the option of 'restoring' i.e. formatting the drive. My Problem with this is that I have quite a few photos I took during a recent holiday in the Middle East on there (apart from the music I collected during the last year :-&.), because until Tuesday I only had notebook with a meagerly 10GB HDD.
Is there any way I can recover my files / revert to the previous software version?
The 'Geniuses' in the Apple Store London were pretty clueless behind their 'Genius-Bar' and looked like they could really use a drink (sadly not on offer at this bar...)
I upgraded from software version 3.0.2 if I remember correctly.
I really appreciate any help I can get!

It's a click wheel 40 GB iPod (b&w) and I updated from software version 3.0.2 - I think if it wasn't supported, the updater should not have started updating it!
What I am essentially looking for is a way to recover the data on my iPod...

Windows Vista Update Error 80072EFD

got Vista Home Premium 32bit and updates were running smooth till January. In Feb- March updates just stopped to work due error code 80072EFD. Have tried with Fixit ( doesn't work as well ) got an error 8004FE2C, and Win Defender got the same error
as updates 80072EFD. My laptop is without viruses ( have ESET Smart Security ) and no maleware ( have Malewerebytes ). Already had checked all Win Update services were they running, then resetting them and added the links of microsoftupdates.com in ESET
and Explorer ( preventing form blocking the site) even closed all firewalls and security.....without any success. Still got the same error 80072EFD!!
