Update fail nokia 6125

everythin goes on normally til the update file has been downloaded,my phone gets into test mode ,and the update just hangs there,after few minutes i get a message on the pc update fail ,try again...

I have the same problem. My 6125 was connected via a CA-53 USB cable that seems to be OK because I have been able to back up my phone contents with it. Bluetooth was off and Nokia PC Suite was closed.
The software update process initiates all right, the current firmware version is 3.71 and the update 3.72, but after a while the software update program shows a message saying "Connection to phone lost. Your phone could not be detected. Please reconnect the USB cable. Click 'Retry' to continue with software update."
When I click "Retry" the program retries but ends up showing the same message again.
At this point, my phone screen shows "Test Mode". It won't turn off, so I remove the battery and turn it on again.
A *#0000# check shows that the software hasn't been updated.
Please let me know if you have any further suggestion.

i recently updated my nokia 6125 software from 3.50 to 3.72.
but after updation i am facing following problems:
- i lost the calculator as that being an application, could not be stored in back up. & now my phone is with a calculator. & all the J2ME calculator i could find on internet were below expectations. so would anyone please tell me the solution that i may get the original nokia calculator as download or link to some other user friendly calculator (J2ME).
- the customised wallpaper & tone settings are lost after every switch-off.

Well i am afraid now only way to get back calculator application is to go to the Nokia authorized service center.

No, i installed PC Suite after Blue Soleil. PC Suite on 1st PC was fixed by Cleaner of Nokia, the 2nd still having error. I think i should send a letter to Nokia developers to solve the problem.

i went to a nokia care center and they told me the phone was not under warrenty and that i would have to pay for it to be fixed. Nokia 6125 Accept Software Update (firmware)?

Hi, my nokia 6125 has present a blank screen by 5 at 10 seconds and go back to main screen while I use the phone. Other things how cannot select a profile (only General profile can be use) and aleatory alarm. Using *#0000# I see Nokia Cougar RM-178 Vp 03.05. I was thinking about software update (firmware) can resolve this trouble? I'm sorry about my english... Fabricio

If it says "Nokia Prototype" and "Nokia Property", then it could be a prototype phone that was sold illegally (whomever gets them are supposed to return them to Nokia in order for the device to be destroyed after testing and after final devices become available).
A Nokia repair center will not fix or support prototypes. They also do not have any kind of warranty.
Or, someone might have just changed the startup message as a joke and it is not an actual prototype at all.
You can see if it is a prototype, also if the serial number (so called IMEI, International Mobile Equipment Identifier) starts with zeros (0). Type *#06# on the standby screen and the phone will display the IMEI.
If it really is a prototype, then you should go back to whomever sold it and request a refund of your money, and then go and buy a supported, released device, instead.

Nokia N86 8MP software update failed.Any1 can help...

I just bought Nokia N86 8MP,my phone cant update to latest firmware version.It say software update failed, for optimum connectivity,your USB cable should be connected directly to the pc,and not via USB hub,USB keyboard orl aptop docking station.My USB cable is fine and ok.I closed my antivirus and turn off the firewall,but it still failed.I also uninstall the Nokia Pc suite and software updater, and download the latest version from nokia.com.my but it still failed.Any1 can help me?I am using Window XP service pack 2.

Why installing Nokia software updater fail ?

There come some error message when i try install Nokia software updater on my pc.
I use Win XP pro FIN with latest updates.
Ill try install latest software updater for a few times but all same error message.
Because i cant copy what its prompt ill cant put it this.
Before all things work properly but latest updater wont work.
Same think comes when try update from nokia pc suite,,,Sucks...

Installer failing could be a corrupt download redownload .
Could try new Beta updater .

N82 Nokia Maps update fail

Hi,
I have a problem with my phone. The phone was turned off by mistake during Nokia Maps update. Nokia Maps do not work at all now. When i push button "Maps", I don't get any reaction. Nothing happens. Could you please give me a piece of advice, how i can to reinstall Nokia Maps or something else? I was trying Nokia Maps Loader, but it did not help me...

Try reinstalling it using the same procedure you used whe updating. If this works fine but if it doesn't then you have to reinstall the previous version and then try updating again.
Because Nokia Maps is embeded in the firmware, to reinstall the original Nokia Maps version, you have to reinstall the firmware. To do this, you have to use the *#7370# reformat phone code. Before reformatting you need to backup all data in your phone because your phone will be wiped.
After reinstalling the firmware, you will find that you are back to the previous version of Nokia Maps. Now try updating again. After you successfully update, delete the "Cities" folder on the memory card, use Nokia Maps at least once. Now finally you can use Map Loader to download latest maps.

1) Date/time of update.
2) Device IMEI or serial number (enter *#06# from the phone display, or copy the long number from the battery compartment label.)
3) Logs from C:\users\All Users\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\Logs
4) adl_flash.log from your Temp folder (Goto Start > Run > Enter %temp% )

The log files should not be more than a few hundred KB, and if there is any other information you wish to share with us, we welcome your feedback.

I wrote all my posts from 2005-2011 as an "Admin" for this community. I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".

if nsu bricks phones then nokia should completly take NSU off there site n stop people from updating. its a product from nokia that should be up to standards. im just saying when vista released they had problems with NSU and took there time to prepare a fix and now a year later that same problem exists on n82 n 6220c.
also look at how many users have had there phone go through recovery mode or blinking screen. nokia are so advance with there phones n they cant be bothered to implement FOTA in all there new nseries, eseries devices were this reduces the phone bricking as FOTA are little updates.
Nokia need to stop the NSU and prepare a ultimate fix for it. They make to many new applications and they cant even fix the problems that exist with there PC suite, Nokia Music Manager etc.

Nokia n73 update fail

This is the story: I wanted to update my firmware with nokia software updater, i did it before, and i know how to do it... it started ok, but a like 30% i think, i accidently disconected the cable with my leg... how can i get software on my phone now? it seems like its dead, even when i disconect, recconect, put charger, reinsert the batery, remove memory card, remove sim card, it dont give any signs... help me plz...

Hi, I did some searching here at the forum and found this post. Seems that a possible way to update could be using the stand alone program "Nokia software updater" and if it fails too, like the post linked to below, you can run it in compatibility mode, and as an admin.

3500 update failed and now off

i tried to update my nokia 3500 by nsu to the latest firmware 7.00 the dowloading completed but when its start updating and the phone driver change to
1-Nokia BB5 ADL Loader USB Phone Parent
2-Nokia BB5 ADL Loader USB Genric
an error apeare
sofware update failed
1-for optimum connectivity ......etc (((check the usb)))
2-nsu has attempted ......etc (((check the net or firewall))
and the phone now stop working but still the driver on the computer as
1-Nokia BB5 ADL Loader USB Phone Parent
2-Nokia BB5 ADL Loader USB Genric
1-i remove the battery and return it back and
2-re install nsu
3- restart the computer
nsu detect the mobile and start updating again but stop in the same point
please help

If the phone will no longer turn on or complete the update then all you can do is take it to a nokia care point.

Update failed on my N73

A few days ago I attempted an update of my firmware using the NSU and it failed miserably. The download was a success but at about 80% of the installation the NSU prompted me that my phone had to be recovered. I was told to remove all power (including the battery), wait for a while then put it back in. I did this but obviously that severed my connection with the NSU and thus it reported the update had failed.
The current state of my phone: It does not even power on. I'm guessing the main BIOS and power management was where the update failed because there is absolutely no power flowing in my phone even just on charge.
I've contacted Nokia and was pointed towards a service centre which I have yet to visit. However, on the phone to them, I was told it may take up to 8 weeks to repair my phone. Obviously I'm not happy with that as I require my phone for business purposes. Has anyone else encountered this error? Does anyone have any advise for me?

I've been trying to do the same thing. Actually- it's been less than a month since this dilemma happened to my phone. And it frustrates me. The laptop does detect the phone- but as an unknown device. Isn't there any way? I've suggested to my dad to just bring the phone to the service center of Nokia. But he wants me to try and fix it on my own. But the thing is that I can't. And I'm on the verge of tears because of this.
I updated the phone to a newer version- since the phone was sorta lagging, I thought, why not? I'll just update it and maybe it'll work better. But then in the middle of the update..I really didn't know it at first since the phone was flipped, with the back facing up, and the updater said something like trying to reconnect with the phone. And then when it didn't..It shut down and now the phone won't turn on- no nothing. It's black. (

Update failed on E71 Please help me

Some hours ago I decided to update the software my Nokia e71. I downloaded OVI, and it said that a new software was available for my phone (v 500.x.x.x), and i clicked to install it. After OVI downloaded the update it started to update (al least thats what was written there) but after 5 minutes it said it could not connect to the phone (but the connection was OK) and i clicked retry but after 5 min. the same thing happened again, so i clicked cancel and it said that the phone will not be updated, i clicked yes and now nokia wont turn anymore on (it just vibrates went i push the power button + black screen and after 5 sec it turns off).
