Update fails and Embedded Youtube videos doesn't load

Problem 1: All update (beta, RC) fails in my computer. After download, when I click in apply button, Firefox closes and a process "firefox.exe"starts with (~2.800 kB) and nothing happens. Every time and every versions in my 2 computers (Vista and Seven). It occurs since ~10 version (9, 10, 11... i don't remember.
When I download the exe from Mozilla, the update works.
Problem 2: Since the ~10 version or flash version, mostly embedded youtube videos doesn't load in firefox (in all pcs again). In youtube site it works, but embedded only shows a black square. In Google Reader it occurs all the time.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
See:
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Firewalls
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version of the Firefox installer.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
*Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • AirPlay fails on embeded youtube video (livestream) from New iPad to Latest gen AppleTV.

    Hello,
I just purchased a new Apple Tv (03/24/2014) and tried to airplay an embeded youtube video from Safari and Chrome on my iPad and received an error. Airplay is working fine from the youtube app, and other apps as well. I've done some poking around and wasn't able to find any concrete answers as to why it's not working. Apparently this used to work prior to sometime in August (not sure exactly when) of 2013. Any helo would be much appreciated are this is one of the main reasons I purchased the Apple Tv.

    Hi IntroMike.
Take a look at this URL in the XBMC forum.
    http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=179961&page=36
This discusses the issue you are seeing. It seems to be specific to the Youtube app and some embeded videos.
There is no known solution at this time apparently.

  • My Embedded YouTube Video Doesn't Work in Safari

    Hi everyone,
I have a YouTube video in my site that works in Firefox but does not in Safari. I have been searching everywhere for an answer. I upgraded my Flash, changed the tags, title and description of my video... still nothing. The message I get when I try to play my video is "Sorry this video is no longer available." The strange thing is, the video works in Safari when I play it through YouTube.
What is going on here? Any help is appreciated!!
    Bettina

We got this worked out via email.
For anyone reading this and experiencing the same problem, it turns out that the issue has to do with private YouTube videos, which won't play when embedded in a web page unless it's your video (or you have permission to view that particular video) and you happen to be logged into your YouTube account in that web browser.

  • Satellite P200-1B6: Sound Driver update fails and HD-DVD Player doesn't work

I have just bought a Satellite P200-1B6 laptop and spent the day installing the updates recommended by the TEMPO program. One of these was a Sound Driver update from RealTek but on running this it fails about 80% of the way through with an error: 'Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !!'.
Now the Toshiba HD DVD player fails to start with an error 'Unable to output the video to an external device.
Please switch your display device by pressing the Fn + F5 keys after ending the application'. I've tried this but it seems to have no effect.
I'm now regretting starting to update the installed drivers. Should I try to rebuild the machine using the recovery discs or is there another solution that someone has found? Or have others found the upgrade works?
    Any advice welcome

Last month I upgraded my PC Satellite P200 (BIOS, Driver ATI HD2600, Package VAP and HD-DVD Player).
But after this update, I was no longer be able to read my HD-DVDs
Error message was: "Unable to send the video to an external device. Please turn off the display device."
The problem was much of the update Realtek R1.76 (Realtek Sound Driver - 6.0.1.547 - 20/11/07) currently proposed on the site toshiba.
Indeed, the P200-1DE is equipped with Realtek ALC268 Audio Codec.
The latest update of this codec is R1.89. I downloaded from the site Realtek and it has allowed me to solve the problem.
    [http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level= 4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false]
I have no problem since that last update

  • Embedded YouTube videos won't load on sites.

Hello. For the past month or so, maybe more, embedded videos from YouTube have not displayed on any site in which I visit where they may be embedded. I am upgraded and currently using Firefox 24.0 and I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit desktop computer. Every time I go to a site with an embedded video, this error shows up where the embedded video would normally be: http://oi40.tinypic.com/2a4skzp.jpg (the picture shows a screenshot of one such site where an embedded video from YouTube was included). I'm already upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, and even downloaded Flash Player -again- but to no such avail in fixing this problem. Can someone please tell me what's wrong?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back soon.

  • Embedded Youtube video is not playing in PDF while it is playing in Adobe Content Viewer - Indesign CC

    Hi,
as a newby to DPS with Indesign CC, I'm currently working on a catalog that contains internal jumlinks and embedded youtube video's.
All works fine in preview (Folio Overlay > Preview on desktop).
Then I export to Adobe PDF (Interactive).
When I open the PDF the internal links work just fint.
But the Youtube video is not popping up.
    To embed the video I've inserted this code: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6EXxtnTOnqA?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" ></iframe>
And I've selected 'autoplay' in the Folio Overlays
So what am I missing here?
    Thanks for you help,
    Dimitri

    Hi Bob,
Like I said I'm a Newby, I even don't really understand what you mean with this.
I'm working in de Digital Publishing toolset (I thought that was DPS).
I use Folio Overlays over the embedded youtube code, with autoplay on.
Than I export to PDF interactive, but neither Adobe reader, nor Preview is showing the vid.

  • Embedded Youtube videos stopped working...

    hi all
i've got a problem with a Flash website that has been driving me crazy.
i have a Flash website that was built for us in late 2009, it uses ActionScript 2 and i have been maintaining it in CS3 on a Mac.
the site is structured as a heirarchy of swf files, and loads XML files to specify text content, image locations, and Youtube videos.
all this has worked fine until sometime in the past month or two. the problem now is that the embedded Youtube videos no longer load, although nothing has changed in the code. unfortunately i don't know exactly when the videos stopped loading.
in the Activity Window of Safari i can see the URLs for the Youtube crossdomain file (http://i1.ytimg.com/crossdomain.xml), Youtube still for the video, and the Youtube player (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swfbin/cps-vfl2P81QA.swf). however neither the still frame nor the player skin load.
if i run the site directly from my hard drive (with my Flash Player security preferences set to allow the swf to access the internet), the videos do load and play, so i am guessing that it is some kind of security domain issue.
if i run the site in Flash CS3 in debug mode, when i navigate to a video page, although the video loads and plays, i get lots of these warnings (i've edited the path and file name):
    *** Security Sandbox Violation ***
SecurityDomain 'http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swfbin/cps-vfl2P81QA.swf' tried to access incompatible context 'file:///pathname/site.swf'
i think the solution is probably fairly simple, however i don't know enough about ActionScript to figure it out...
any help would be much appreciated!

i should add that the same thing happens on three different servers, on Safari or Firefox, and on Windows or Macs, so it seems pretty likely that it is a change in either Youtube embedding or Flash Player that has broken the embedding...
it's been doing my nut in that i can't find any reports of similar problems on the interwebs...

  • Embedded YouTube videos not working

    Hello,
Embedded YouTube videos used to work fine up until a few days ago but they have stopped working in all browsers. I use Safari, Firefox and Netscape Navigator.
I am using Mac OS X (10.6.3) and have just conducted a software update and installed a fresh version of flash. This can't be a browser problem because it is not working on any of the browsers. I am having problems viewing embedded YouTube videos on such sights as Blip.fm, Facebook, etc but they used to work fine a couple of weeks ago.
Is this a problem with flash? or Mac OS X?

Another me too. In particular the symptoms are this:
+ any YouTube video embedded within a webpage loads the poster frame and the controls, but after clicking the play button only shows the progress indicator briefly before showing "An error occurred, please try again later." within the video frame.
+ the same YouTube videos play fine on the YouTube site.
+ other Internet video plays fine, embedded or not.
+ when the error occurs Safari reports "One error in opening the page. For more information, choose Window > Activity".
    + the Activity window shows "forbidden" for http://v13.lscache4.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2 Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Calgorithm%2Cburst%2Cfactor%2Coc%3AU0dWSVhMVV9FSkNNNl9QRllH &fexp=900028&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=34&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&expire=1 274817600&key=yt1&signature=C15947474FA80C9A1B9DA597103C5FF7D621A478.0C1490DE456 5D519F602B0043A4E1F9D800417A0&factor=1.25&id=c3e8886e8b459334
+ the same URL downloads fine when visiting YouTube directly, except the signature value is different.
    I have tested the following:
+ the same computer worked fine a week or so ago
+ other computers on the same shared ADSL connection work fine
+ Firefox works fine (contrary to other's experiences)
    + deleting com.apple.Safari.plist doesn't help
    + disabling/enabling the "Enable Plug-ins" preference doesn't help
    + deleting Preferences/Macromedia folder doesn't help
    + reinstalling Flash doesn't help
    + empty cache doesn't help
    Tis quite perplexing.

Via youtube and your preferred browser, search for any video file (eg rubik's cube), select a video and start to watch it.  Choose Share, Embed and copy the link information (eg <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/MaltgJGz-dU"

    kb2817636 & kb2837627
As i said at the start, members of the Power Uses or Administrators group don't have this issue - but as 99% of our users are "users" and not really an option to make them all members of PU group.
Same also happens if the computer is removed from the domain.  Admin & power users work, standard users crash IE.
Uninstall and reinstall of Office 2013 and IE11 has no apparent difference.
    Assistance in this is appreciated.
    Thanks

hi Jon, do you have all available updates installed for your PowerPoint? Install the two KB in the links below, then test again:

  • Firefox no longer plays embedded YouTube videos - message "An error occured, please try later"

I've updated FireFox, cleared cache etc., but continue to experience this issue on several different sites where I have embedded YouTube videos. This issue has only just started happening - all was well a few days ago. They play fine with Chrome and Safari and I can also play the un-embeded version on YouTube in Firefox.

Yes, unfortunately, another user reported this a few days ago on his website.
Currently the only workaround is to click the YouTube button in the player to launch the video in a new window, and then manually edit the -nocookie out of the address and press Enter to load it on the real YouTube site.
Hopefully someone at Google/YouTube will figure out why this suddenly broke and fix it.
The other thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1050925 youtube-nocookie domain has problems in Firefox, but not in Google Chrome]

  • Embedded YouTube videos do not play on my Mac Mini

Embedded YouTube videos don't play in non-YouTube web pages.  I can click the link in the top of the video to be taken directly to YouTube, and I can watch the video there, but when I click the big Play button in the middle of the video window, I just get a black rectangle.
I tried uninstalling Flash player as suggested in another thread, rebooted my machine, and reinstalled Flash player, but that did not fix the problem.  This is a non-Flash player problem that Apple should look into.  I have not tried this on other browsers to see if I have the same problem there or not, as I do not use other browsers besides Firefox.  I would rather not have to use another browser just so that I can watch embedded YouTube videos.  I would prefer if Apple (or another knowledgeable user) can post the solution to the problem.  Thanks!

In Firefox, click Tools>Add-ons. Make sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled and "Always activated".
If that fails, see: How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X  in the Adobe Forums. That will clear out the pluigins and allow a fresh install with the new plugin.

  • Cannot see embedded Youtube videos; I get a black screen

So, embedded Youtube videos suddenly stopped working. I can still watch videos on the Youtube website just fine. Making an embedded video fullscreen also allows me to see it. I have seen an answer on another thread asking to try Safe Mode. Interestingly, disabling every add-on and plugin (besides Flash and Shockwave) does not fix the issue, but using Safe Mode, which theoretically does the same thing, fixes it :S
The embeds are black screen, and when I hover the mouse over them I see the Refresh and HD buttons, but not the Youtube icon on the lower right. Clicking the lower right area still brings me to the Youtube website, so the button still works, just isn't visible. Reinstalling Waterfox and using a new profile do not fix the issue.
I can't test the issue on Firefox because it has a long-standing problem of the Flash Player crashing constantly every second, which rendered it unusable and is the reason I switched to Waterfox in the first place (in which Flash does not crash).
The troubleshoot information with all Waterfox add-ons disabled (which again, doesn't fix the issue, despite Safe Mode fixing it) can be seen by navigating to the "More system details" on the menu to the right.
    Thanks!

I had disabled hardware accel in Waterfox and it didn't fix the embeds, but doing so in Firefox fixed them for Waterfox! Odd. It didn't fix the constant Flash Player crashing, though. Thanks for solving the embeds!

  • Can't see embedded youtube videos, just a blank space where the video should be

As question says embedded youtube videos do not show outside of youtube. I'm using firefox 23.01, have cleared my cookies, seen if my flashplayer is up to date etc and still no luck.
I've put up with it for a few months now but its really starting to get annoying
any help would be appreciated cheers

    Hi.
I know this sounds stupidly simple - but it worked for me.
Sometimes, when you copy and paste the embed link from a YouTube video, the actual link to the video DOES NOT START WIth.....
    http:
If this is not there it will fail.
For example THIS WILL NOT WORK
    <pre><nowiki><iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/sCsjfE6Mabs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></nowiki></pre>
    BUT THIS WILL
    <pre><nowiki><iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sCsjfE6Mabs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></nowiki></pre>
Took me ages to figure this out.
    hope it helps.

  • Embedded Youtube Video's not Playing in Web Viewer

I have several YouTube videos embedded in my folios. They all play fine when being viewed in the app, but if the folio is shared (by any channel) and viewed in the web viewer these videos won't play. Instead the user is greeted by this error:
    Not found
    Invalid character in path
I know that other apps using embedded youtube videos are playing just fine in the web viewer (I check out Wired) so I'm curious why mine are broken.
    Any thoughts?

This streaming YouTube example works fine in DPS Tips web viewer:
