Update fails msvcr80.dll missing
The latest iTunes update failed to install. The mobile device service does not respond. Error says MSVCR80.dll is missing. When I replace that dll in the System32 directory I get an error that the C library is being improperly accessed. Dead in the water. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with same error. So no iTunes on Windows 7 at this point. Bye Apple...

Update failed msvcr80.dll missing
I tunes tried to update and failed.
Every since I get a missing msvcr80.dll message.
I have tried manually downloading and completely removeing I tunes and replacing.
Same message and failureYes, everything is saved. The order in which things are removed may make a slight difference. (It did for me with an error on reboot until I'd reinstalled.) Try the following proceedure:
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Here is the fix! -
after I-Tunes update I receive an error MSVCR80.DLL missing please reinstall I-Tunes, I did a few times but it is not working
Okay! Thanks for the tip, David. I did what you did too, and that fixed my Apple Software Update thing. I downloaded the latest update using that program and installed using the program, and everything was fixed!
I think it was when I had a problem installing using Apple Updater that began the problems, and installing manually just added fuel to the fire. But now everything's fine! Thanks, man! -
After iTunes update, iTunes.exe System Error - msvcr80.dll missing. Followed the support suggestion & uninstalled then re-installed iTunes 5 times & still no good so followed Apples advice & uninstalled again then went into programme files & manually deleted the files re-installed again & now getting iTunes.exe System Error - icudt49.dll missing. I give up, anyone out there help ?
I've just (finally) managed to fix this problem today. I checked the Apple Support forums, and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
I rang the Apple Support line, and the very helpful man (thanks Alan!) talked me through it stage by stage. If you go to the following page on the internet:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 it takes you through the process. WARNING - it takes a little time! The main purpose of this is to remove any trace of the old version of iTunes from your computer...
Basically, the first thing you have to do is go to your Program Files and double click on your iTunes folder. There'll be a number of files with the suffix .dll - you need to move all the .dll files from that folder to your desktop - you can simply click and drag them on the desktop..
Next, uninstall iTunes - go to Control Panel / Add/Rempve Programs and when the list comes up remove iTunes. This will take a few minutes... Then reboot your computer.
Next, go back to Control Panel / Add Remove and Remove - IN THIS ORDER -
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot again!
Next, check in your Program Files that the iTunes folder is completely gone - if it has, great: if it hasn't, right-click on the folder and press Shift and Delete - it will say "Are you sure you want to completely remove the folder "iTunes"? Click on "Yes".
Reboot!
Then go to the iTunes download page and voila! It should download iTunes without any problems... well it did for me.... Good luck! -
How do I correct Install failed "APS DAEMON.EXE error. MSVCR80.dll missing" and "iTunes not installed correctly. Error 7
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Updating to latest version of i tunes but stopped by this error message MSVCR80.dll missing, what can i do?
This happened to me today as well post installing the latest version of itunes. I did a search on google for the error and came across a recommendation to :
Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the msvcr80.dll error.
If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)
Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
Download the latest version of iTunes from Appleand note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation. -
Attempting to install the latest update, received = this program cannot start "MSVCR80.dll Missing". What should I do?
