Update Failure Build 10049

The update from 10041 to 10049 fails, stopping at 30% immediately after a reboot. The failure is NOT related to disk space, greater than 150 GB available...it is also not multiple language packs. The system basically stops functioning at this point in
the update and I have to shut down.  When it restarts, the 10049 watermark appears in the lower right for an instant, then I get windows is restoring the previous version and I'm back to 10041 after a while. Thoughts?

Why not stay with 10041 and change to Slow ring.
Let MS work on it?
Hopefully we will get a better "revised" version when MS releases it in Slow ring.
Personally, and I am not an expert, the advice of deleting language packs does not work. What language packs ?
How do I remove the language packs if only English is on the list when running
Lpksetup /u  ?   
I have only the default  English display language and it took me more than 7 hours. Every operation was slow and it froze if more than 2 apps were opened. I hated it so much I went back to 10041. If the Slow ring release turns out to be just as bad,
I'll remove it from my dual boot and stay with win 8.1 until MS sorts out the bloody mess.
MS has a new OS and wants us to help out by testing and reporting the bugs. I get that.
But don't tell me MS does not know it will take "forever" to install. And we got no warning in advance. Unconscionable.
I apologize for my ranting.

    I've been using the Hulu Plus app in the Windows 10 preview since Build 9926, and it has always launched and worked correctly.  While there was an occasional stutter or random CTD, it was an acceptable level of performance.  Now, since installing
    Build 10049 (and now 10061), the app does not successfully launch.  When the tile is clicked, the app opens for less than 2 seconds before giving the generic (DJ1) error.
    All of my audio and video drivers are up-to-date.  I've removed and re-installed Silverlight.  I've even run the appropriate DISM and SFC commands in order to clean up any residual issues.  Is this problem occurring due to a change in the
    latest Build, or is there something more I can do to resolve the problem?

  • Windows 10 preview build 10049 BIG PROBLEM

    hello,
    i got a very big problem after updating to build 10049. after the installation was complete my laptop restarted and i got a black screen with in the botom right corner the build number 10049. after a couple of hours the laptop restarts itself but it keeps
    getting on this black screen.
    i tried a iso of windows 10 preview latest iso build on a usb stick but with every solution i try: format, repair it keeps getting the same error that there is a problem with unmountable bootdevice.
    even using my official windows 8 dvd gets the same problem
    i'm lost. i dont know how to solve this problem.
    can someone please help me with this?

    This is not a one off, it is repeatable on brand new disks.
    I previously had the original win10 preview build installed on this hard drive = no problems.
    I then did a fresh install of build 9879 from CD. Install completed untill it got to the reboot phase = it would not reboot - the hard drive was not recognized in the bios anymore.
    tested broken hard drive in another computer = works
    tested broken hard drive in 2nd connector on my laptop = fail (still not seen by bios).
    tested a few other sata disks I have laying around on both connectors of my laptop = pass.
    upgrade my bios as there is one version higher than I had. = fail (still not seen by bios).
    boot from broken hard drive on another computer and finish the OOB portion of the win 10 preview install = pass
    So it seems clear that the hard drive is still working, but just not recognized on the original computer. It is only 2 months old so I get it replaced under warranty. Replacement disk is recognized by bios, yeah! I then restore image of broken hard drive
    to this replacement. Disk is still recognized by bios. I boot up from this disk on my laptop. It works OK until first reboot, then is not recognized by bios anymore.
    Computer = Toshiba Satelite P305 PSPC8U-01400Q
    Hard disk = WD blue 1TB  model: WD10JPVX-22JC3T0
    Note: also with windows 8 running on this computer and the broken hard drive installed in second connector, windows also does not see it, neither through disk manager nor through diskpart command line. But if I boot up in Linux from a bootable USB flash
    drive, then I can see the (broken disk) on this same computer. Yes I can see it and I can read and write to the filesystem, even though it is still not seen by the bios.

  • Error while Updating build 10049 to 10074

    Hi,
    currently build 10049 is installed and I want to update to build 10074. While downloading und preparing everything is find, but while installing the new build after the reboot there is an error.
    The installation aborts at 1%. After that, the PC reboots und restores the previous version of Windows 10.
    I have tried serveral times, but always the same error.
    Before updating there are about 30 gigabyte free disk space.
    Any suggestions?

    I suspect you mean 10074 not 71.  You may want to try installing from the ISO'S which can be found here

    My notebook installed the latest update windows 10 preview build 10049. When it was installed, every time after the startscreen the screen turns blue and the notebook restarts. On the screen was a message it had problems with the ??.sys file. After installing

    Yes, pleaes make sure to change to to "Fast", if still no help, then please check the registry, make sure its value shown as below:
    Open regedit.exe
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability
    Ensure the following values exist:
            {value name}, {value type}, {value data}
    BranchName, REG_SZ, fbl_impressive
    ThresholdOptedin, REG_DWORD, 1
    ThresholdRiskLevel, REG_SZ, low
    Delete all other values
    Open Settings > Update & recovery > Windows Update

    The hotfix is to resolve the issue of " You cannot enable Hyper-V after performing a clean install of Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049, nor after upgrading to Build 10049 from a build that did not have Hyper-V enabled."

    My Dell 8 inch tablet is stuck at 98% downloading this update for the last few days. Can you help me understand how I can either push this to 100% and let it install, or else stop the update? I don't think I can move to the latest version of Windows
    10 without fixing the problem with this update first.

  • Windows Preview Build Settings Missing/Unavailable from Build 10049

    The Preview Build settings has been missing from 10049. I have tried doing Windows Update registry change to enable that option in the Windows Update through settings and also through the control panel but still no success. Please tell me how can i look
    upto that?

    The Windows Registry version trick doesnt work in build 10049 and after runnning the registry script also there is no windows update option available. You cant just manually select updates to install. Its really a tough job updating your computer. 
    Moreover, the concept of fast rings and slow rings when a product is under development is useless as the latest updates should be processed simultaneously for everyone and the users should be allowed to download the ISO of the latest builds released on fast
    rings via windows update. The windows update mechanisms should be changed.

    Hi all,
    Here is the list of all what went wrong and where I am now:
    1. My Ipod worked well
    2. I wanted to update it, you know, the normal thing with Itunes
    3. Every time I tried, my computer froze. I was unable to add only one song (both automatically and manually).
    4. I took my external drive (where my music is) at work and tried again: same result.
    5. I decided to run the Updater I have on the CD that came with the Ipod.(2005-02-07; I usually avoid the newer version, having had once a problem when putting a newer version of Updater).
    6. The Updater was unable to operate any action on my Ipode (I don't remember the messages now).
    7. Like I tried what I describe here above like a hundred time. I decided to format the Ipod with Windows (My Computer, right click on the Ipod, format).
    8. It did and now I have only the famous folder with an exclamation mark on my Ipod.
    9. Now when I am running the Updater, it says it cannot Restore the factory settings giving this message "Firmware update failure. Disk write error".
    I would appreciate any help because, during the last 2 hours, I read and tried all I found on the Support Help here on the Apple web side without any result yet.

  • Not able to login with domain account on Win10 Enterprise build 10049

    On my Windows 10 Enterprise technical preview machine (build 10049), it locked out after inactivity and now only offers the option to login with "Other user". On this screen, it only seems to want a Microsoft account, although if I enter a valid
    Microsoft account it says the password is wrong. It won't accept a domain account, and it does not seem to offer any way to switch to the normal domain login screen.
    I am locked out of the PC and unable to use it. When I reboot, it goes back to the same login screen.

    Is the system joined to a domain? If a machine is joined to a domain, then after restart, the domain name should be displayed under "Other User" even though it doesn't display other user accounts. See snapshot below:
    And for domain account, please make sure to type the format as domain\username
    While if you have other local user account, then I recommend you login to that user acocunt (format as .\localusername) check the system info and check the policy below:
    Local Security Policy\Local Policies\Security policies\Interactive logon: Do not display the last user name, it should be "Not configured" or "Disabled".

  • RMMR1MRS-When run in background cause update failure errors looking

          RMMR1MRS report when run in background cause update failure errors .
    There are few  below reason for the error log.
    1.  for the PO invoice already generated -  (its right if already invoice generated. should not happen again)
    2.  In  MIGO,  entire  quantity has been reversed  and also invoice generated with zero value - ( its right , should not happen invoice again )
    3. Particular PO line item deleted -  (its right if the PO line item deleted. ERS settlement not require)
    For the all above reason, the update error occurs.  But the mean time  the program  "RMMR1MRS"  should not through the update error log. 
    Note: The job was not terminated due to this update error and also no harm because of the error log
    can you please help on this update failure why it occurs.

    i get this when i use the ipod Updater after clicking "restore"... this thing is giving me a headache. Also get the previous mentioned "cannot read from or write to disk" error when using itunes after a couple downloads. i followed the steps in the link to those issues and ran some updates on my PC and still the same. HELP

    Yesterday I built my first computer and I installed Windows 8.1 on it, everything was running perfectly fine until today. This morning I had an update notification and I installed it, about half way through the update an error occurred and it said it couldn't

    The update failure might be caused by a variety of reasons such as connection issues, incomplete Components and firewall. For troubleshooting, specific error code of the failure update will be helpful.
    You also could find installation failure events and error code in log files, such as WindowsUpdate.log (C:\Windows\ WindowsUpdate.log) and CBS.log(C:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log). Here you first want to search for “error” in your logs. This will search for
    Error entries. Focus on the day the installation attempt occurred. Refer to your time line of update log, find what error happened. Of course you could post your log content and we’d like to give it a look.
    How to collect the specific error code of failure update:
    We can do this by viewing your update history.

  • Photoshop CS6 Update Failures  -  absolutely frustrated

    Once again, after completely removing the Web / Creative suite and re-installing (because we could not update when the last revision of PS came out)    we   have gotten an update failure on Photoshop CS6 Extended when the updater tried to apply the latest update - 13.0.4
    We examined the log files - once again its apparently looking  for PS language files that are not there ?    Seriously Adobe  WTH ?
    This insanity really needs to stop.    For one,  if Photoshop can only be licenseed in one language (in our case, English) why does the update look for all these other languages ? 
    1>   We've never uninstalled any OSX language or used any utility to remove languages or fonts 
    2>   We installed the  CS6 "fresh" - on a new machine and  fresh install of OSX
    3>   This happens on every machine we have, every time there is an update, it is absolutely infuriating we have to go through this every time.
    4>    It ONLY effects Photoshop - all the other Adobe apps update fine.  
    Is there ANY fix for this besides wasting another 2 hours re-installing and re-insalling all plug-ins ?

    Interesting...  I rebooted the computer,   killed the installer / updater process  and manually installed the update and it took. 
    Computer #2 
    I deleted the installer,  and re-installed it (the installer) and it  still produced the language errors  but it also took, update successful.

    Conclusion =  Installer is buggy and has been for the past 3 releases of PS.    Make note to self,  manual install PS update from now on and save a lot of time....

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 Update failure- "Error Applying Transforms, verify that the specified...

    I have ignored this issue for long enough.  I have Adobe CS4, with Acrobat Pro version 9.3.4.  Windows 7.  Acrobat updater pops up on my machine, and when I execute the update requested, the updater gives me the update failure message, with code 1604, "error applying transforms."
    I have seen solutions posted for this tranforms message, but it was a problem with Acrobat 8.  I have seen no solutions as of yet for Acrobat 9, so I thought I would post.
    I also tried opening Acrobat 9 Pro, and under the help tab, I initiated "repair".  I get the same transform error message as above.  Any advice anyone?  Should I just uninstall Acrobat 9 Pro and reinstall using my CS4 disk?

    If you have original CD with Acrobat installation, copy all files with extension .mst from this CD to the following location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 64bit system
    or
    C:\Program Files\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 32bit system
    where [ProductCode] is a unique value which identifies your language version of Acrobat 9 Pro.
    If this is EFG version, it should be {AC76BA86-1033-F400-7760-000000000004}
    If location does not exist, create it.
    2. If you do not have original CD and cannot find .mst files, provide the exact Product name including language and I will provide further instructions.

    I'm having the same issues regarding windows update failures as many documented in this forum. I have run the repairs recommended, drive scans, etc. with no success. I'm at the point that I think that it would be better to cut off the update notice. I have

    You may be right.  Try eliminating WU from a symptom description.  E.g. pick one of the updates which is available as a download and try installing it that way.  Just use WU as a guide for what you should download and install manually. 
    I imagine that if that works eventually WU will repair itself and realize that it doesn't need to do anything else for you.

    Another suggestion which could be implied by your diagnostics would be to uninstall your Norton package (and any of the other interferers which are mentioned that would be suspect).  Norton is notorious for interference with updating and is also known
    to interfere even when it is supposedly disabled and is also known interfere even when it has supposedly been uninstalled, so who knows what the cause of the problem is, corruption or blocking, you could at least change your POQexec.log by taking such
    manual action.
    BTW what have you done exactly about trying to repair WU?  You could save yourself a lot of manual effort if you could get it working properly.  
    Otherwise, on the manual update tack I would try doing first the ones which arrive in pieces.  Search WindowsUpdate.log for  Downloading  for clues that way.
