How can i Update my itouch 1g to iOS 4, because Nancy Apps doesn't work under iOS 3.1.3

Only by getting a newer model iPod. A 2G can go to 4.2.1
A 3G to 5.1.1
and a 4G and 5G to the latest which is 6.0.1

I updated my itouch to the iOS 5. and now most of my songs arent playing on my itouch nor are they playing if its plugged into the computer and i go to "my itouch" tab. but if i go onto the computer and go to the main library, they will play. How do i get my songs to play?!

Yes, Apple has caused people to go through massive panic, anxiety and wasted time by not coming out and telling us about this problem. They must know about it. How can we tell them? Now I understand why it took me 50 tries to upgrade to OS5. We all got the same crazy errors that caused us to reinstall iTunes, turn off our firewalls, buy new USB cables and basically waste tons of time and energy, when the solution was very simple. Plug your device into a USB port on your computer.
After years of using a peripheral USB hub successfully it's no wonder we all started freaking out and thinking it was a major problem. Yes, I'm blowing off some steam, but I've been an Apple fanatic for a long time and I'm not happy about their lack of response to this issue.

Try ensuring that your firewall isn't blocking iTunes, you can test this by trying to connect to the iTunes store...if you can connect then I would suggest trying a different computer to update? Back it up on your original computer and then take it to another computer to update it, good luck :)

I replaced my ipod touch 2g for a 3g and update it to iOS 5.1.1. I had no problem updating but I also discovered I lost some of my music from reseting my computer. Is there a way I can get my music back? also is there a way I can get my third-party music back?

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If the non-iTunes purchases are on the old iPod you can copy them to your computer by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
and then sync them to your new iPod.

As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

3.1.3 Update for iTouch 1g

I have a first generation itouch. I've not downloaded apps in a while, but when I do now, it says i need the 3.0 os. Currently i have 2.2.1. or something. Unfortunally, when i go to search for upgrades, itunes (which is the current version) says I have the most up to date update. If you have everything already in iTunes and you have synced with iTunes at least twice (to assure you have backup) then you should not lose anything. Upon completion of the update you will have an option to restore the device from a backup.
But, the update process will erase everything until you restore your backup.

i bought the update 3.1 and every time i try to download and install it tells me that my internet connection timed out and there was an error-3259. does anyone know how to fix this?

You can get a "timeout" on the download from either a really slow network connection or, more likely, your anti-virus software. Turn that off and try the download again.
When you go to install, turn off your firewall unless you know how to open the ports needed for the update process.

i tried downloading it thrice n got network errors all three times.

Are you sure your iPod is a 2G? a 1G can only go to 3.1.3

Installing signature update for IDSM-2 on AIP-SSM

Hi every one,im not sure about this question but i think its beter to ask you experts.i want to know that if i have signature update for example for my IDSM-2 can i instal this sig update on my AIP-SSM --> suppose that IPS software on both devices are same and also i have installed valid license key on AIP-SSM.now can i do this or no? and i know that if you have not valid license installed on IDSM-2 you cant instal any sig update on IDSM-2 but what about AIP-SSM?i mean can i instal sig update on AIP-SSM without installed valid license key on AIP-SSM? thanks

There are 3 main types of Signature Updates.
1) IPS Sensor Signature Updates
2) CSM Signature Updates for IPS Sensors
3) IOS IPS Signature Updates
The IPS Signature Update filename is in the form: IPS-sig-Sxxx-req-Ey.pkg
This is most likely what you are referrnig to in your post. This file can be installed on ANY IDS/IPS Appliance or Module.
The Requirement here is not the platform but rather the Engine Level. The "req-Ey" portion of the filename tells you that the sensor must already be running the "y" Engine level of software.
So an IPS-sig-S436-req-E3.pkg file can be installed on any IDS/IPS Appliance or Module so long as the software on that sensor is an "E3" version.
The CSM updates, are signature updates for the Cisco Security Manager. They contain special files that CSM uses to update itself, and then also included within the CSM update is the actual sensor update described above. CSM unpackages the CSM update, updates itself, and then uses that embedded file to upgrade the actual sensor.
The third type of file is for IOS Routers loaded with special IOS software that has the special IOS IPS features where the Router itself (instead of a separate IDS/IPS module) does the signature monitoring.
These IOS IPS Signature Updates get installed on the actual router, and are not installed on the IDS/IPS Sensor Appliances or Modules.
So in answer to your question, yes the same Signature Update for your IDSM-2 is the exact same Signature Update for your SSM modules.
The exact same file is available through multiple different paths on cisco.com. But it doesn't matter through which cisco.com path you downloaded the file you can still install it on all IDS/IPS Appliances and Modules.
As for licensing, the license works the same on all IDS/IPS Appliances and Modules. A license must be on the sensor for the Signature Update to be applied.
NOTE: A Trial License is available from cisco.com for new sensors to allow you time to get everything setup correctly for your sensor to be covered by a service contract, and get the standard license from the service contract.
