Update from 10.3.9 to new 10.5 will not work.

trying to update my G4 iMac 2003 with panther 10.3.9 OS. I put my new leopard OS X disc into the drive and read everything i need to on the disc. I press the install button, then the restart button on the instalation window. The system reboots and stays on a grey screen with the color waiting wheel for hours and hours on end. There is no end to the waiting. After a good few hours of waiting, i decide to quit. Do i need to buy tiger OS X because my panther OS is too old to update all the way to 10.5? Or, is my iMac not compatible with the new 10.5 Leopard OS X? Is Mac trying to scam me into buying a newer system?

Need to know your Mac model. If it's a PowerPC, the max OS is Leopard 10.5.x. If it's an Intel procesor, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (for $29) & later to Lion.

Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! click on the Java pane in System Preferences. When the Java Control Panel window opens, click on the Security tab, and set your Security Level to Medium — that will allow “untrusted” applications (i.e. those without certificates from a trusted authority) to run. Press the Apply button in the lower-right corner to confirm the change, then press the OK button to close the window.
Apparently your Yahoo! card games don’t have certificates associated with them, which is why the default security setting of Java SE 7 Update 51 didn’t allow them to run.

I upgraded from leopard to lion and my Epson printer will not work. I get a error message comunication error. What can Ido to fix this I bought a new USB cord and it did no good.

I suddenly had the same thing happen. I've had my new iMac for 3 months and at first my Epson Artisan 50 worked okay then yesterday I started getting the same error message other people on this support site have gotten. I tried ALL the advice given (deleating the Epson files from the library folder, etc. reinstalling older software) and nothing worked. With the newest iMac (and operating system) you cannot pick and choose which version of Epson software you want. You must use the 10.8 version or it simply will not open when you've downloaded it. Finally I found the comment above by den.thed and tried the OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system suggested. As much as I hated to lose all my printing presets that took a lot of expiermentation to set up, I was desperate. I tried it and it worked. Now I just have to consult my old computer and try to recreate all my printing set ups. So to others with Epson / Apple 10.8 issues this may help when everything else fails. Thanks den.thed for your advice.

Are you saying that you bought the game from the App store and made another copy onto a dvd so you can play it on another computer too? If so, you can not do that, you have to buy it again for the other computer.

I loaded the photos onto my tablet and images are fine, so do not feel it is the memory card. Any thoughts?

The error message probably said "unsupported or damaged"
The T3 requires Lightroom 3.4.1 or later. You can either upgrade to a more current version of Lightroom (version 5.6 is the most recent) or you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAWs to DNG, which should import into Lightroom properly.

Have you tried the following troubleshooting document?
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
If you end up using the If the iTunes Store opens successfully section of the document, and the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox is already checked, try unchecking and rechecking it and clicking OK.

I updated my software for the Time Machine and it will not work properly now.

I updated my Time Machine's Software and now it flashes amber all of the time and will not let me "into" it. I used to have a wireless network through it and now it does not work. I have hard reset it several times and it is flashing amber again.

I have done this on several occassions. This works for 1 time then it stops. It "connects" allows me to set it up and then flashes amber. It did backup 1 time today, but now it says it is delayed and there is no back up. It worked fine until I updated the software and tried to extend my network. After this, it will NOT work at all, for any length of time. i just reset it, and was able to set it up, but it gave me an error message, is flashing amber and is not being recognized. Very frustrating.

Since I have updated to the newest version 5 My Yahoo toolbar will not work or allow the settings to be loaded to toolbar. I have reinstalled the toolbar to the Version 2 didn't help

I have tried updating plugins and have tried updating the Yahoo Toolbar as a plugin and that has not fixed it yet. I get an error code saying that it could not be downloaded or updated because Firefox cannot find the proper file or something to that. I really need that toolbar because all of my bookmarks are there. I have tried to download the Firefox Bookmarks plugin and I get the same error message.

I have the exact same issue. I havent found our what is causing it either. Multaple re-install attempts with no success. I have to use Windows Media Center to burn audio discs. Any other advice?

Airport Utility windows update from 5.1.0 to 5.2.1 will not update

I have airport utility installed. whenever I open it, I get a message that tells me an update 5.2.1 is avail. I do so but I receive a message that just states that I must have 5.1 installed (which I do) and just errors out. I am running win XP pro. I wouldn't care so much except this happens every time I run the program, and it is annoying. What gives anyhow?

I solved my problem by reinstalling 5.0 from the CD that came with Airport Extreme. Updates ok now.
