Update from 3.1.3 to 4.x CORRUPTED WITHOUT BACKUP! How to recover data

My screen stays in recovery mode. Cannot switch to normal boot mode.
I cannot restore from iTune, since I need the photo data in my phone.
Anybody know how do I recover the data?

Most likely, you will lose everything. Data, photos, installed apps (they still are in iTunes, btw), etc.
Unless you had flagged to sync your photos on iTunes: you can found them (at least, the last synced ones) in the folder you told to store photo data.
If you using a Mac, check your iPhoto app, or Pictures folder. If windows, check your Images folder, to see if they were in. Good luck!

I have tried the printer with my laptop (not updated) and everything is fine. It's just the beautiful 27" Imac that can no longer print.

Might be a corrupted printer preference file ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move the com.apple.PrinterPrefs.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac, restart the printer...

That's because 10.7 is not an update, it is an upgrade that you have to buy by using the App Store app, not by using the Software Update.

First, see if your system can run Lion:

If you have any PPC apps, none of them will work under Lion.
If you meet the requirements for Lion, you can go to Snow Leopard(US $29), then update to 10.6.8, then update to Lion(US $29).
Apple says 2GB's of memory minimum. I wouldn't update to Lion unless you can run at least 4GB's.

How to recover data from corrupt redo

I have one qurey regarding redo file. My database is in Noarchive mode and all redo files size is 1G, there are 3 groups and all group having 1 member each.
Now in case my all redo corrupt/dropped then can I recover my data from corrupt redo? does it mean that I can have loss of 3G data? is it?

Yes, it's true that a lost or corrupted redo log can put your entire database at risk. Please read Re: How can I get around recovering a data file that doesn't need to be?? for a recent thread on the same issue.
To summarize the options you have, in roughly descending order of desirability:
1. If you have one, restore the database from a recent cold backup.
2. If you have a recent export, rebuild your database and import your data from the export.
3. If you have no sort of backup whatsoever, attempt to open your database without the redo logs, using an undocumented startup parameter. This option is risky. It may not work at all and it may further damage your database. It's best to do this under the supervision of Oracle Support, if you have a valid support contract. Don't try this without first taking a cold backup of your database. If it does work, you must immediately take an export and then proceed to option 2 (rebuild your database and import data from export).
4. Buy a license for DUDE, or some similar product, which may allow you to recover your data from the remaining data files. This option will probably be very expensive.
5. Accept the loss of your entire database.

I formatted my computer without backup all of my favourites in Firefox. I have Firefox sync account set up before that between the 2 computers but both of them have formatted. Now, how do I get the data out from my Sync account? Did Firefox save my data on their server and how can I check that?

Once a hard drive goes bad (cannot get into the computer), is there any hope of recovering any data from it? If so, how?

Do you mean the hard drive is mechanically broken for sure? It's not a data corruption issue that is causing a problem with starting up the Mac, but maybe not be a bad mechanism?

If you don't know for sure that the hard drive is physically broken, you can try starting up using your Mac OS X installation disc. Insert disc in optical drive and start up with the C key held down. When you get to Installer's screen, go up to the menu bar and run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Does the internal drive appear in the Disk Utility sidebar?
Alternately, if you have another Mac (that has FireWire), you can try starting the Mac with the problem in FireWire Target Disk Mode,

Connect the "target" Mac to the other Mac (running normally) using a FireWire cable. Run Disk Utility on that Mac. Does the hard drive of the Mac in FireWire Target Disk Mode appear in the sidebar?
If you can get the internal drive to appear in Disk Utility, you may be able to run Repair Disk on the First Aid tab. How to recover data from a hard drive with bad blocks?

An external hard drive, 4TB Iomega...connected via eSATA cable...had a power outage and the drive won't be read by OSX now. (Yes, it was on a surge protector and no I did not have a backup. Basics of File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

There are very less options . You can contact some third party companies who does these kind of corruption stuffs, but not sure whether it will be successfull.
You can also try this but not sure how far it will work out.
Create a new database with the same name, physical file name etc.
Offline the new database.
Replace database files with the copy of .mdf and .ldf files that you already have.
Try to bring the database online.
If it goes into suspect, put it into emergency mode and run DBCC Checkdb. and try.

Cannot update from 10.1.2 to 10.1.1 without cd-rom

When trying to update to 10.1.2 it asks for a cd-rom but as I downloaded from the internet I do not have it. I tried downloading 10.1.2 from the internet but received the same message. It also referenced a file from the disk but when I searched my computer for the file it doesn't exist.

You can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases.

Updated from Lotus Notes 7 to 8, PDFMaker is now gone, how do I get it back?

My company moved from Lotusnotes 7 to Lotusnotes 8, when I upgraded to 8 the PDFMaker that allowed me to convert emails into PDF files was gone. I went to File, Preferences, Toolbar preferences, Toolbar and you can not make PDFMaker visable because it is not there. While reading the help in Acrobat it says that a toolbar is added to Lotusnotes when installed (which it did when I bought it while using Lotusnotes 7), but when I upgraded to Lotusnotes 8 it is gone. Adobe Acrobat can be opened and used, I just lost the ability to convert email in Lotusnotes to a pdf file. How do I get it back? Do I have to uninstall Acrobat and then reinstall it all over again or ??????????

Can I.. update from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 without going past to 4?

My topic pretty much says it all. I've got a iPod Touch 2G and for a few obvious reasons don't want to update my software all the way to iOS4. I would however like to upgrade to 3.1.3, since I'm still on 3.1.2. However, I don't see a way to do this. Can I manage this, or does this option simply just not exist?

Why not go to 4.0, but if you want, I guess I can tell you. Please Apple don't get mad. Get a 3.1.3 firmware file (*.ipsw) that is for the iPod touch 2G and is 3.1.3. Then in iTunes hold shift (in windows, it may be "Option" on mac) and click on update. Then find the ipsw file you downloaded and let it upgrade to that.
