I tried to update solution center but I get a window message saying that "solutioncenter.msi" is not on the available network and that I should provide a path where the solution.msi is located".  I looked in program files and the solution center folder was empty - not sure where this file is.  do you know what the problem is or where this file is located.  everytime i turn on my computer the Install shield wizard appears looking for the file.  I cancel it, but I want to either update it or cancel the update permanently.   the model no. is C309a and I use win 8.1

    Hi @Dzien6
I would be happy to help you with this solutioncenter.msi error.
What printer model do you have?  How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
While I wait to hear back from you, you can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.

Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor >>>>> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • HP Solution Center Disappeared

My updated HP Solution Center software which allowed me to scan documents as .pdf files with my Officejet Pro L7590 has somehow disappeared.  I've updated the drivers after upgrading from Vista to Windows 7.  I had been using the Solution Center for quite some time after the upgrade.  I tried to used the software disc for windows Vista to reload it. I'm getting an error message which seem to say that my 32 bit system is not supported.  How do I get the Solution Center back?

Hey there SIfatunji, welcome to the forums!
I understand you have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and are no longer able to use Solution Center. I am hoping to help you fix this issue!
First of all, uninstall the printer altogether: Uninstalling the Printer Software
    Restart your PC
Reinstall the printer by downloading the Windows 7 compatible driver here: HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver
Please write back with the outcome, I hope to hear some good news!

  • 'Unknown device' in Lenovo Solution Center, but not in Device Manager

Even with all the latest updates installed, I still get this annoying warning from Lenovo Solution Center
'Unknown device' - status 'not installed'
Control Panel / Device Manager gives no signals something is wrong.
    why?!
    Details:
    Computer: Thinkpad Yoga (TPY)
    OS: Windows 8.1 all updated
Lenovo Solution Center version: 2.2002 / revision 17630
External device attached to TPY:  OneLink Pro  (also has latest driver = Realtek 8.10.1009.2013)
    Thanks in advance

It seems to me you are missing some update from Lenovo. I had the same issue, however just recently after updating any available software/drivers for the TPY the message has disappeared.
Glad to hear the problem is solvable. Regarding missing updates, I honestly would not know which one.
Lenovo's own update programs ('L-Update and Drivers' & 'L-System Health and Diagnostics') inform me that all drivers are up to date.

  • ISSUE: Lenovo Solution Center update resets all Settings!

Longstanding problem continues with update to 2.0.020: When Lenovo Solution Center (LSC) updates, all Settings are reset, wiping out options to suppress certain screens and alerts. While not a functionality issue, it's very annoying to have to configure LSC all over again after evey update, so much so that some of my clients stop updating (one client called it the Lenovo Annoyance Center, and removed it entirely), so please fix this issue. Thank you.
    Hope that helps,

We're aware of this issue and agree it is very annoying, especially since LSC updates itself so often.  LSC team tells me fixing it is a priority for an upcoming release (either 2.1 or 2.2).  Sorry for this inconvenience caused by LSC.

  • Solution Center for W7/64 Update Install Fails

I have a T420 running W7/64 bit.  During the last ThinkVantage System Update it downloaded Lenovo Solution Center.  During the install it pops up an error accessing /Program Files/Lenovo/ Lenovo Solution Center.  Something about requiring admin access (my account is an admin account).  Any ideas on how to resolve?

Odds are its a bug in the update and/or server. Give it a day or two and it will likely work fine.

  • T440S corrupted after solution center update, no start menu

My T440S has corrupt files and various problems which all seem to have started (maybe) with an update of lenovo solution center. I have Windows 8.1, model number 20AQ-CTO1WW. Problems: - Windows "start" menu does nothing when clicked. - Trying to start solution center gets error "this application requires a version of adobe air which cannot be found". - Trying to update or reinstall adobe air gets the same error shown above. - Trying to uninstall adobe air gets the same error shown above. - I cannot start Norton Internet Security UI. I tried to return to a system repair point before this all started, and the return seemed to work, except the problems are all still there. I tried to reinstall solution center, downloaded version 2.4.003, the down load page says T440S is supported. However when I try to install it I get the error "this version of lenovo solution center program can only be installed on select lenovo computers. this setup cannot continue." I cannot find a download of 2.4.002 on the lenovo site. I cannot start the UI for solution center, I get the adobe air error. I ran sfc /scannow and got the "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." I see several file in the log that need to be replaced but I don't know how to replace them. I don't have win 8.1 installation media. And when I try to create recovery media from the recovery partition I get an error that files are missing (or something like that, sorry, failed to capture exact error). Soo...suggestions welcome! I am not positive it all started with the solution center update but that is my best guess. Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just to wrap this up, I have my system working again. Whether it actually occurred during the solution center update or not I cannot be sure, but whatever caused it, the repeated error seen afterwards was "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)", appearing in a dialog box, for many applications (when I tried to get the start menu, when I tried to start some applications (but not others), when I tried to install anything new. The steps that finally cleared things up were:
    - ran "sfc /scannow" in an administrative prompt. sfc found errors but could not repair them.
    - Ran chkdsk, some disk errors were found and fixed.
    - ran "sfc /scannow" in an administrative prompt again, same errors still there, could not be repaired.
    - ran "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" in an administrative prompt., it found errors and said they were repairable.
    - ran "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" in an administrative prompt., it said it was able to repair the windows image. However, the problems still occurred.
    - ran "sfc /scannow" in an administrative prompt again, and this time, it was able to repair the corrupted files. And after that, all working again.

  • HP solution center windows 8.1 update for C8180

I just updated from windows 7 til windows 8.1 and my solution center for HP C8180 dissapeared.  The printer is working well but the scanner quality is pretty poor.
Please advise how I can download HP Solution Center for Windows 8.1?

Hello Keld, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are looking for the Solution Center software.  I would like to try and help.
I would recommend downloading and running the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers. Once the software is launched it will allow you to install any missing software.
Please let me know how that goes.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Lenovo Solution Center says Windows Update needed Windows 10

Thanks for your help, I have the Lenovo B50-30 AIO and recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Everything seemed to go flawlessly with the exception of one small problem. I am constantly being nagged by the Lenovo Solution Center to Update my Operating System. When I run Windows update, it says 'No Available Updates', yet LSC still nags me with that screen. When I go into LSC and click on the Launch button to fix the problem, nothing happens. Is this a problem with LSC or is there something that I am doing wrong?

    All,
I've shared this conversation with our LSC development team and here is how I understand the siutation...
LSC 2.8 was tested with Windows 10, but this situation occurs because Windows 10 does not fill in the update date after the OS install.   After 1 day, and the date changes, the symptoms should go away.
We are working on improving this in the next version fo LSC 3.1 which is a few weeks away...
    Edit:
Speedwell, I've also noted the launch button issues with the team to re-test and make sure works properly.
Update 8/5/15 - confirmed launch button issue on 2.8.5 and lower.  This is going to be addressed in a new version.
An interrim support tip is being released on our support site to explain the work around:
    1) Navigate to taskbar
    2) Type "Windows update" in teh search the web and windows field
    3) Select "Check for Updates" at the top of the search results
    4) The Windows update will appear
    5) Select check for updates button
Apologies that this did not work as intended, and I appreciate your patience as we release an updated version.
    Best regards,
    Mark

  • Lenovo Solution Center does not sense or allow Windows Update after Windows 10 upgrade

Also see: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-A-B-C-N-S-Flex-and/Lenovo-Solution-Center-says-Windows-Update-needed-Windows-10/m-p/2136161#M6832 I'm having exactly the same issue as the user who started the thread linked above. After installing Windows 10 (and having no particular issues with the installation), LSC won't leave me alone about needing to run Windows Update. But when I click the Launch button provided, nothing happens. LSC is also recommending I update drivers and things, but the link provided to the Lenovo website also doesn't work. I had to run Windows Update and find the updated drivers on the Lenovo site myself. I happen to have a G505s, but the issue is obviously not restricted to one model.

Maybe a Lenovo server is down. Check again later or tomorrow.
Of course it might be that your firewall or other protection software is blocking the application from communicating with the Lenovo server...

  • Lenovo solution center won't install update

    Hi,
I've got a rather high spec Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga, which I love. However, the Lenovo Solution Center keeps popping up saying "A new version of Lenovo Solution Center is available. Do you want to update now? <Update now> <Later>
When I click on update now, it downloads the ~35mb download for "2.4.002", but then doesn't install it. I'm concluding it doesn't install it by the fact that it remains on 2.2.002, the next day it'll ask me to download it again, and it does nothing after completing the download that would indicate that it has indeed updated the software.
    I'm running Windows 8.1
According to the splash screen for Lenovo Solution Center, it is currently on version 2.2.002, revision 17630.
    Thanks!
    Andrew

I know this is an old post but for anyone else having this problem...
Once you download the update via Lenovo Solution Center and it doesn't automatically install:
    1.  Close the Lenovo Solution Center
    2.  Go to the folder "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\LSC\Local Store"
    3.  Right-Click on the LSCSetup64.exe file (or whatever your LSCSetupXX.exe file is) an choose "Run as Administrator".
Be sure to check the date of the LSCSetupXX.exe file to make sure it is current so you know it is what you just downloaded.
This will install the new version.
Once complete, open the Lenovo Solution Center as normal.
    Enjoy!
    Frank

  • Solutions Center not showing software updates

After installing driver updates that were suggested by the solutions center,, the solution center is not aware that the updates were installed. It keeps asking me to install updates. Very frustrating. I spoke with a software person who offered to fix my 2 week old machine for a fee
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi woofer,
AFAIK, you can remove the Lenovo Solutions Center if you manually update your drivers from the lenovo website and windows update but you could also keep it to benefit from its additional features like the system security and hardware checkup.
I'm unsure why the H520 isn't on the list of supported models but perhaps it isn't updated. Try to uninstall LSC and install the latest version below and observe:
    Lenovo Solution Center for Windows 8 (64-bit), 7 (64-bit)
    v2.2.002
    lscsetup_x64_22002.exe
    32.4 MB
