Update image in Photoshop to LR4

Is this a bug, and if so how/where do I report it? I have given up trying to find somewhere to potentially report this as attempting to report bugs seems a labarinthyn process. If Adobe wants feed back, please make it easier. Not all of us are geeks or have the time for a lot of research.
iMac (OS 10.6.8). Photoshop CS5 latest update. LR4 Beta. Following work on a PSD file in PSCS5 and saving, the updated file does not re-render in LR4. If I conduct the exact same actions on a copy in PSCS5 and then click to LR3, the file re-renders as expected; not so in LR4 beta. Closing and reopening LR4 beta does not properly re-render the updated file as it still looks the same as the raw file. Any links as to where to report a possible bug?

Here's good for bugs Kiwi.  We are tracking them.  I'm pretty sure I've seen that one reported, thanks.

This link shows that ACR 8.3 supports the Nikon D610 and 6.7.1 was the final version for CS5.

So you can upgrade to CS6 and ACR 8.7.1
or using the DNG converter, convert your Nikon raw files to dng format to open in CS5.
Here is the download link: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
or Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1

  • I can not open canon 60d raw images on photoshop CS5.1? can not go to updates either- error?

I can not open canon 60d raw images on photoshop CS5.1? the same program on stationary mac can open the same raw files, whereas new lap top can not? Why?  can not go to updates either- error, why?

Which version of mac os x does your new mac have?

  • Can't open raw images in Photoshop Elements 9

I've just finished doing a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 SP1 onto my desktop PC.  I installed Photoshop Elements 9 but it can't open any raw images (specifically Canon .CR2).  When I open one of the same images with Photoshop CS5.1, it properly opens up the image in Camera Raw (6.6), allows me to pre-process the image, then edits it in Photoshop (as you would expect).
Before installing Photoshop, I did manually install Adobe Camera Raw 6.2, then upgrade it (multiple steps) up to the current v6.6.
I also copied the Camera Raw.8bi into the Plug-Ins\File Formats sub-directory of both C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer and C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9 but there was no change of behavior with Photoshop Elements 9.
This was working prior to the re-install of Windows 7.
Any suggestions on how to get this working?  Thank you, in advance.

When I to to Help>Update, it offers to update Photoshop Elements to v9.0.3 but no mention is made of Camera Raw (any version).  I'm not even sure how to determine what version it thinks is installed since there's no reference to Adobe Camera Raw in the Windows 7 Programs and Feature Control Panel applet.

  • Want to edit iPhoto images in Photoshop 5.1

    I'm using iPhoto '11 (9.2.1).
Updated from Photoshop in CS3 to CS5.1.
I want iPhoto to open images in Photoshop CS5.1, so I went to iPhoto - Preferences - Advanced - Edit Photos: and it only gives me two choices. One is iPhoto, the other is my old choice, Photoshop CS3.
No matter what I try, I cannot get it to show me "In Application," so I can manually choose Photoshop CS5.1.
Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanks in advance!

Choose CS3 again and the window to select your preferred version will open

  • Cannot open multiple images in Photoshop

I recently purchased a new laptop (OS: Windows 7 Enterprise, 32 GB RAM) and installed CS5 on it.  All of the applications work well except for Photoshop.
At first Photoshop would load correctly but crash when I tried to Save As.  I deleted the preference file upon startup and that fixed the problem.
Now every time I open more than one image in photoshop, my screen goes completely black. It doesn't matter whether I try to open them sequentially or all at once.  The most I can have open is 2 images.  When trying to open a 3rd, or when selecting more than one file to open all at once, the screen goes completely black. Eventually the screen does come back on, with the error that my AMD driver stopped responding and recovered.  But now Photoshop is frozen and I have to close Photoshop through the Task Manager. My video card is AMD FirePro M6100 and has been checked for driver updates.
Do we know what could be the source of this problem?  And how can I fix it, I often need >2 images open at once.
    Thanks!

All I coul find is this AMD FirePro M5100 / M6100 Graphics Driver Driver Details | Dell US

  • Display drivers crashing and restarting after opening any image in Photoshop CS6. After that Photoshop CS6 doesn't respond.

I have just purchased Acer Aspire R7 (2nd Genre). I have installed Photoshop CS6 as trial. Now when I open any image or drag any image in Photoshop I get this error in the taskbar "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". After that Photoshop doesnt respont and I have to force close it from task manager.
Can anyone guide me how to solve this issue?

Well, what more do you need to know? Update your graphics drivers and configure them suitably.

  • I just upgraded to a 3ti from a rebel xt. When I try to open my RAW images in photoshop elements 5.

I just upgraded to a 3ti from a rebel xt.  When I try to open my RAW images in photoshop elements 5.0 get an error message.   I installed the camera raw update 4.2 but that didn't work.  Any suggestions.

    Hi,
Elements version 5 was made obsolete by Elements 6 back in 2007.  The T3i was only released 2-3 years ago.  Adobe was up to Elements version 9 or 10 by then.  Every camera has its own particular camera raw software, and Adobe has to write an update for the software to work with each new camera's RAW files.  And Adobe stops updating the old versions to work with new cameras when the next version of Elements/Lightroom come out.
I had to buy Lightroom 4 only 6 months after I had bought Lightroom 3 when I bought a new camera.  The older version would not, and never will, work with the RAW files from my 6D.
You could, I believe, use DPP to convert the RAW files before exporting them into Elements 5, but personally I would just take this as a cue that it is time to get Elements 11.  Or Lightroom 5.  I personally prefer Lightroom.

  • Open image in Photoshop

I want my images to open in Photoshop CS when I double click on the file, but even when I've been working on them, and saved them as Photoshop files they just open the application, not the image. There's a brief flash of an image but it never opens. I don't appear to have iPhoto, so a previously suggested answer appears not to help, and have just loaded Tiger and its latest updates (prior to re-loading Photoshop). The only way I can currently open images in Photoshop is thru the tedious "Open" menu within Photoshop, followed by a trawl through the file structure, or via the application's own file browser.

    Hi Fearless,
How did you reload PS? do you reinstall it?
If you didn't reinstall it then might have to install it again.
Here is some old information I had copied and pasted
Try this suggestion I copied and pasted from MacFixIt first
"Photoshop CS: Fix for file opening problem Yesterday we reported that since installing Mac OS X 10.4, Photoshop CS refuses to open any new files or create any new documents, reporting a "program error" when one tries to do so. Our previously reported workaround involved re-installing Photoshop CS, but MacFixIt reader Bryan Schappel now offers a faster solution:
"This happens because the Archive and Install option does not copy over a necessary folder for Photoshop. The critical folder is called 'ScriptingAdditions' and is stored in the main Library folder. This folder contains one file 'Adobe Unit Types' that makes Photoshop open files that have been double-clicked or dragged to the PS icon in the Dock.
"Simply move this folder (and file) from the 'Previous System' backup to the Library folder, relaunch Photoshop and all is well again. No need to completely re-install.""
I copied an pasted instead of putting the link in because it is not on the front page and you would have to search around to find it. Hope it is ok to do that here.

  • DW CS4 doesn't display updated images edited in PS

    Old way with DW8:
I would change/update an image in PhotoShop – save
over the old image – and DW would automatically
    display the new version.
    New way (DW CS4):
I do the same as above, and DW does NOT automatically display
the new image. I’ve tried hitting F5 (refresh) in the Files
column, which oddly, works once in awhile – but not usually.
I’ve tried closing out the page and re-opeing and that
doesn’t work. And I’ve tried re-inserting the image; no
luck. Stranger still – if I upload the new image to the
server, the new image will show up in a live view of the page
    – yet DW continues to display the old image.
I’m on a PC, running Windows XP (SP3)
    Any help would be appreciated…

    Just a long shot since I don't have CS4.
Does it help to rebuild the site cache? In CS3 it's
    Site->Advanced->Recreate Site Cache

  • Edit Library Image  in Photoshop Elements

It seems to be a hit or miss problem with updating images in
Captivate Library. I am retrofitting files some one else created. I
use Edit with... option and open in Photoshop Elements Edit exe.
The edits in Photoshop goes as planned.
I use Save from drop-down menu and then keyboard to Enter
default entries... sometimes the update Captivate screen flies
across the screen and update occurs in the Library. The majority of
the time the Photoshop file (saved in Temp) never updates in
Library. When I export again to Photoshop I can view changes ...
will not update slide background (with same name).
How can I streamline the edit images in Library feature?
Why doesn't Update option permit browsing?
    Thank You!

Hi Tam D. and welcome to our community
I would think that PhotoShop may present an issue when
editing in this fashion. Why? I think this because the native
format for PhotoShop is .PSD file extension I believe. So I'm
wondering if it's even feasible to expect PhotoShop to make an edit
to something in .GIF, .JPG, .PNG or other type and save changes
directly to this type. I'm thinking you could hit a snag when
    attempting this.
As for the Update option not allowing browsing, I suspect
it's because Captivate knows where it pulled an image from. So the
update function would probably only allow you to change the file
externally, then inside Captivate, update to ensure the copy stored
inside the Captivate .CP file matched what was on the hard drive.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Can't open CS2 image with photoshop

I had this camera, Canon 50d, for little more than two years.
Now it is time to start working with Raw image and can't open the image with Photoshop.
But I could open with EOS utility but want to work with Photoshop.
thanks for reading and advice pleae

Photoshop CS2 will never directly open a Canon EOS-50D raw file.  The raw files from every camera are different and your camera was designed after the Photoshop CS2 Camera Raw application stopped receiving updates.
    This list is pertinent:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
That said, there is a free solution that will allow you to open your images indirectly.
Download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5388 (Mac)
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5389 (PC)
Whenever you have a folder full of raw 50D images run the DNG Converter on the folder to convert all the files to DNG format.  You will have to select the proper compatibility setting.
You can now open the DNG files with Photoshop CS2's Camera Raw converter.
Just as an aside, the Camera Raw converter from the latest version of Photoshop delivers images of higher quality, so you may want to consider moving up to Photoshop CS6.  Unfortunately you will have to pay full price; there's no Photoshop CS2 -> CS6 upgrade discount.

  • How can I remove speckles that appear in images in Photoshop CC?

When I open an image in photoshop cc I get speckles of pinks and purples all over the image.  When I turn on the View Gamut Warning, the speckles disappear.  Also when I save an image as a file like jpg they do not appear.  How can I get rid of the speckles that appear when I'm working on an image in photoshop?

Looks like you have a video card driver problem causing the color management shaders to return bad results.
You can either set the GPU mode to Basic, or update the video card drivers from the GPU maker's website.

    Good day!
    What is your OS?
    Can you open the images?
    Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by pressing command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift while starting Photoshop until the appropriate dialog appears after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)
