Update iPad from beta 7 to the full release?

My iPad is saying that it is up to date in iTunes as well as the over the air Software Update section on the iPad itself. How do I get it to download and install the final release version of iOS5?

b7 won't go to PR...
You should have already downloaded the GM from the Dev Center, studied the release notes and followed the process - use the resources you paid for as a registered Developer. _If_ you're registered...

updated ipad mini last night with the ios 7.6 and now am unable to restart the pad, we have tried charging it completely and have had no luck in restarting it

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • HT4437 how  can i stream audio to ipad from video playing on the apple tv using air play?

how  can i stream audio to ipad from video playing on the apple tv using air play?

I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

  • How do i store for playing NOT STOLEN music files on ipad, from any computer in the world, at any time?

I concluded that with buying an Apple ipad2, I made the worst investment. Unfortunately, I realized that the philosophy that you build the software for these devices is to extort money from clients without providing them the right to choice. Specifically, at this point I am feeling frustrated that I can not copy .mp3 files to iPad from my home computer, as any device can do. These files do not contain stolen music and, yes, is a certain reason to be unhappy client! I am very sorry that I don't bought a Samsung Android device and I will share my experience all those who need it.

I can not copy .mp3 files to iPad from my home computer
Er, yes you can - I have thousands of MP3 on mine. It appears you have not have bothered to read the User Guide before coming here to make yourself look rather foolish with your blatently incorrect beliefs.

  • I have purchased an ipad from a house clearance, the previos owner has passed away, can i reset it?

i have purchased an ipd mini from a house sale, the previous owner has passed away, i need to reset it, can I?

you can ask the family to remove it from the iCloud account
I believe that would be presuming the family even knows the owner's password or has access to the owner's email account where they could receive an e-mail responding to a password reset request.

  • When I import files (copy from jpeg or copy as DNG from raw, where is the full size original stored?

I have the photos go here file, does LR5 put the untouched original there? Do I need my own file for originals and if so, how does LR5 know where to find the full size original? I have everything working but don't understand where my untouched originals go after import. Say I import off my card to My Pictures/Lightroom Catalog/ Photos go here ..... are my originals there? What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically? I don't understand why LR5 didnt put in an originals do here file that imports the full photo to a stock folder. I am so confused I am about ready to throw out LR5. I even bought your instructional DVD and it doesnt make where the original files location clear, it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions, where is the program getting the photo when I double click to open it , or am I only seeing a lower resolution version of the photo and the full res is now gone because I formatted the card?

When you import photos, you can choose "Copy" or "Move" or "Copy as DNG", and then select a destination folder on your hard disk. This happens on the right hand side of the Import dialog box. So your original files go to this destination folder.
Alternatively, if your photos are already on your hard disk, you can import by choosing "Add" and the original photos remain in the existing location.
If you're not sure where the photos are, open Lightroom, go to the Library Module, and on the right hand side is the Metadata Panel. Set the dropdown to "Default", and it will show you where your photos are stored. Alternatively, you can right-click on any photo and select "Show In Finder"/"Show in Explorer" and Lightroom will take you to the exact folder where the photo is located.
So, bottom line, you are in total control of where the originals go, and if your forgot where you put them, or made a mistake, you can always find out where they are.
What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically?
If your import was successful, then the photos are now stored on your hard disk. So you have the full size original for Lightroom to work with.
it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions
Lightroom does import the original, which means, in Lightroom jargon, that it records the location and metadata about the photo; in other words, Lightroom knows where the photo is, but Lightroom NEVER contains your photo, your photo is ALWAYS stored on the hard disk.
Because Lightroom now knows where your photo is located, it is important that you not manage your photos (move, edit, rename, delete) outside of Lightroom. Photo managements tasks now must be done in Lightroom. (There are advanced methods that let you manage your photos outside of Lightroom, but these would be NOT RECOMMENDED for beginners)

  • How can i access my iPad from my macbook if the display is out?  i would like to  back up all my information but i cannot "allow" access on the iPad if i cannot see the iPad display.  Suggestions?

Just found out that my display is hosed on my iPad 2.  Connecting it to my macbook prompts me to "allow' access on the iPad 2.  I cannot do so because this information is on the iPad 2 display.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Updating iPad from iOS 4.3.2 to current OS

I have a set of ipad 2's for educational purposes. They haven't been updated in ages and are currently running iOS 4.3.2 (capacity says 29 GB with 28.7 available). I'm trying to update iOS, which requires connection to a computer. I'm using the iMac they were originally configured with (which is running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.6.3, which it says is the latest).
When I plug in the ipads, they are recognized in iTunes. The screen says "A newer version of iPad software is available (Version 7.0). ..." but when I click the Update button next to that in iTunes, a message pops up that says "This version of iTunes (10.6.3) is the current version." I've restarted the iMac, and iTunes, and the iPad. Same messages.
When I try to do Restore in iTunes, it processes for a while ("Extracting software") and then says "The iPad could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
But shouldn't an iPad 2 be able to handle an iOS upgrade? Maybe the issue is too many upgrades have gone by without these iPads being updated.
For what it's worth, I don't have any apps or data (files, media)  on these iPads that I need. I'm happy to do a full reboot and get the iOS upgraded.
Any guidance is welcome. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help, which clarifies that a more recent version of iTunes is needed (and thus a more recent of OS on the iMac is needed). Because I have nothing that needs to be saved or backed up from the ipads. I've just connected them to a newer iMac running the latest OS and iTunes. And I'm then prompted to restore/update the ipads, which gives them the latest OS.
    Thanks for helping.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • HT4623 Update Ipad from a version before ios 5

How to update an iPad 2 from the iOS 4.3.3 to the newest one? Is there a way to do it without a computer?

The iOS 5 update must be installed from iTunes on a computer, as it introduced the capability to update further on the iPad itself.
