Update keep repeating problems

I installed maverick x on my computer and it said a new update was available so I told it to install. Now I get a message there was a error during the process and it keeps cycling over and over

Hello mgolden2509. That would definitely have an effect on my everyday life as well, if my phone did not charge properly. This should definitely not be happening so let's see what we can do. I'm sure you have tried a battery pull by this time, and if that did not help, I honestly recommend a hard reset. Something my have corrupted during the install of KitKat, so a hard reset should definitely help clear things up. http://vz.to/1eHSSNT
Just be sure to backup your data, and remove your SD card after you are done backing up your phone and SD cards content before you go through with the hard reset.

  • Updates keep repeating

Every time I start my computer for nearly a week I get a request to update Adobe Reader.  It seems to be the same update every time.  I run it and it appears to install correctly and gives no error messages.  How can i stop these repeated messages?
I have Windows 7 x64, and help says Adobe Reader v10.1.0. (although it says Adobe Reader X in the heading).
On a separate point why do Adobe insist on putting a shortcut on my desktop?  I do not want one which is why I deleted it initially so for Adobe to keep putting it back every time there is an update is pretty stupid - why can'y they just detect it is not there any more and do nothing?

The file is rather big so I assume the last entry will have what
    you want:

  • Updater keeps repeating update

    Photoshop and Bridge CS2.
Adobe Bridge updater 1.0.3 appears regularly each month; I've updated already - so why does it keep appearing???

Forgot about CS2 versions (it is some years ago...) but I believe the latest
version for Bridge 1 (that comes with CS2) was 1.0.4.
If it does not recognize this update and you have checked the about info in
Bridge showing 1.0.3 and in PS itself the version shows 9.0.2 you might
consider to deselect the auto update for Adobe. (the 1.0.4 update did have
    some minor fixes)
The Adobe Updater application should by in the utilities folder (inside
application folder). Start this by double clicking and it will run a check.
After this you will also see a button with preferences, select this and
deselect auto update so it will not run again.
This is fairly save because there will be no newer updates for CS2. Only the
latest versions of PS (current is CS4) will be provided with newer updates
    if necessary.
And remember that according to new upgrade policy Adobe let you only go 3
version back, so the next version that will be released (probably called
CS5) will be your last chance to upgrade, after this you will need to buy a
    full new license

  • Osx 10.7.3 HP Printer driver UPDATE keeps REPEATING

    Hello everyone,

  • Garageband Instruments and Apple Loops 1.0 update keeps repeating

I have OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 and Garageband 10.0.3. The auto update for Instruments and Apple Loops 1.0 appears and runs as an available update on a daily basis despite the fact that it has previously updated Garageband. Help please.

    Paul,
I think what is happening is, that the update you are trying to install is meant for the new Mavericks compatable version of GarageBand - GarageBand 10.0. When the download finishes, it cannot be installed properly, because GarageBand 10.0 is not present. With GB 10 installed, these instruments download with no problem on my mac.
GB 10.0 is free on Mavericks - so, honestly, download and install GB 10.0 in addition to your current version. Let it download and install additional instruments and loops, launch it once to let it rebuild the loop index, then ignore it. The application does not need much space, and perhaps you may want to use occasionally the automatic drummer or the Arpeggiator. Before downloading GB10.0, make a backup copy of GB '09, just in case the installer should try to overwrite it.
After GB 10 installed the additional instruments, search for all places with installed loops in the system library and rebuild your loop index.

  • Update Keeps Repeating

Everything is working fine with my Mac App Store, except for an update I have. When it first came out, I downloaded the Twitter for Mac app. Everything was fine. Then an update to the app came, I downloaded it, everything was fine. But now, another update came, I download it, it installs, the app marks as running the new version, but when I launch the App Store again, it says I have the same update again. This happens every time I launch the App Store, and I have to re-download.
I followed some instructions that were given to me on another discussion here at Apple Support. The instructions included deleting "com.apple.appstore, com.apple.storeagent" from the Caches folder on my HomeFolder/Library folder. Also, "com.apple.appstore.plist, com.apple.storeagent.plist" from the Preferences folder, and "com.apple.appstore" from the Cookies folder.
I also completely uninstalled the Twitter app, and even when uninstalled, when launching the Mac App Store, it will show the update (even if I am not logged into my account).
I am running Mac OS X v10.6.8. I also installed the Mac OS X v10.6.8 Update Combo from the Apple website, and with no luck. It just keeps showing up.
Is there anything I can do?
    Thank you very much!

Ok, I just found the solution.
If you download a cracked app from outside the Mac App Store, and you use the Twitter files to make it work, the app store will continue to show the update, even though it's not for Twitter technically. So the solution: Delete the cracked app (e.g. Angry Birds).

  • Adobe update keeps repeating

When Adobe Updater activates and one views details, two columns are displayed.
One is "available updates", the other "installed updates". They match.
Is this normal through several auto update cycles?
...or is Acrobat supposed to note that I have already installed what it's saying is available and stop displaying those that are already installed?

Why not simply turn off the autoupdates and check the Adobe site for updates periodically (or manually do the update from Acrobat)?

  • Yosemite iTunes update 12.0.1 keeps repeating the install

Early 2008 Mac Pro running Yosemite.  Update 12.0.1 for iTunes keeps repeating.  I now have 12 instances listed as being installed.  The notification for the update continues to be displayed in the App Store.  Has anyone else had this problem.  Otherwise I will start troubleshooting.

Boot into Recovery and repair the drive.
    Do a safe boot.
Restore from backups and do a clean install of either Yosemite (and save the installer!) or Mavericks for now.
Your system use to be fine, so if you do install whatever you have on TimeMachine or cloned, make a new clone of the system to keep handy for safety net or dual boot.
Install issues with Yosemite have been seen, check Mac OS X forum, have not been over on iTunes forum which would be a good idea but it does not seem common let alone wide-spread. Obviously you want to uninstall iTunes completely so there is no remnant.

  • Updating Firefox 4.0 to 5.0 downloaded from Mozilla Firefox Add-Ons keeps repeating duplicate downloads...

Firefox 5.0 upgrade from Mozilla downloads keeps repeating???

I've since updated manually to 4.0.1, but haven't yet tried the full uninstall version, because I have to export plenty of settings first (and/or manually copy them). Also means I'd have to start from scratch with many customizations in No Script.
That said, I'll try the 'Safe Mode' option tonight, thank you :-)!
If I have to uninstall the whole shebang, I'd be more tempted to go back to 3.6.x until a few more of 4's teething problems (e.g. the messy print dialogues, particularly preview, which regularly doesn't even work) have been tackled.
Thanks-1M! for now - keep you posted.

This is an unsolicited ad for "winning" an I phone. I am very tired of winning all this junk. I certainly do not want ads talking to me now.

This appears above the page, in the toolbar area? That's probably caused by an add-on. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or remove).
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that get rid of the ad?
    Two other things:
    (1) You may want to check the Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, for any undisclosed bundle items. Click the "Installed on" column heading to group by date so they are easier to spot. Remove whatever looks suspicious or unnecessary.
    (2) You may want to supplement your regular security software with some of the scanning/cleaning programs listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].

This software update keeps popping up almost everyday in my iMac 27 although I keep updating. Looks like the either the update is not happening on my machine or some other problem. Anyone else know of this? Everytime I check for updates (I have the setting to manual check), an alert pops up in Apple store with the phrase "Lexmark Printer Software Update 2.11" available for download.
Is there a way I can turn off this notification for Printer updates until it is resolved? It is pretty annoying.
    Thanks

Not sure this will help yet, having just noticed it myself, but you can now get the Lexmark driver 3.0 for download here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1397
I'm going to give that a try to see if I stop getting the constant reminder for 2.11.

  • Why does playlist on iPod keep repeating and repeating even though play count rule is 1

    Hello, everyone!
I have a smart playlist of about 100 songs.  The play count rule is set to play songs with a play count of less than 1.  A few days ago, I reset all of the songs play count to 0.  If you ask me, the way I have it set up, when the iPod is playing with my headphones on, the iPod should automatically update each songs play count to 1 after each song plays.  After I have listened to all 100 songs, the playlist on the iPod should be empty.  The reason is is because since each song was updated from their play count of 0 to 1 after each one played the play count rule in the playlist should show no songs in the playlist.  Like I said before, the rule says to play any songs with a play count of less than 1.  Since all of the play count of the 100 songs are now 1 and not less than 1, the playlist should be empty.
The problem is, when I'm listening to my iPod and the 100 songs have played, the playlist is not empty.  It just keeps repeating songs and it will never stop.  When I go to iTunes, the songs are randomly with play counts of 3 or 2 or 1 or however many times they have been repeated.
Does anyone know why this is?

The reason the songs don't delete themselves after playing from the playlist on the iPod is because your iPod is not smart enough to do that. It's only when you re-sync your iPod to your iTunes library does the smart playlist in your iTunes library delete the played songs. Then the playlist on your iPod will adjust to the number left unplayed in that playlist.
So as long as you don't sync back to your library the number of songs in that playlist will never reduce to zero.
