Update later. Update failed. Downloaded manually. No Install button.

I got a dialog box that an update was available. I clicked "Update later". Later, tried to open Mozilla. No hourglass. Would not open. Double clicked again, No hourglass, Double clicked again. Waited 5 minutes. 3 Mozilla boxes appeared at bottom, plus Software Update Download button. Message, Update Failed. Unable to do anything. Shut off computer. Waited overnight. Turned on. Message, Update filed. Opened Download box. Downloaded. No "Install" button. WTF.

  • OS X 10.10.3 update thru' iTunes fails to load and install

Having already tries SMC and PRAM resets, and having to wait 12 to 15 hours to download it, the OS X 10.10.3 update thru' iTunes fails to complete.  Reasons cited include possible corruption and/or incomplete download.

Download the 10.10.3 update from Apple Support Downloads, faster and more reliable.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update
    Good luck.

  • ITunes will not install any (downloaded) apps: the install buttons are grey.

I have installed iTunes 12.0.1.26 on my (up-to-date) Windows 7 64 bit machine. I have successfully downloaded several apps from the app store. Now I would really like to install those apps on my iPhone 4s iOS 8.1.2, but iTunes wil not allow me to do so (nor on my iPod). It recognizes my iPhone, it shows me my apps, but the 'install' buttons are grey (i.e. they are not clickable). I have authorized my computer and installed iTunes as an administrator.
I searched this site and found a solution to a similar problem, but unfortunately that solution will not work here. The solution was to double click on one of the apps in 'my apps' and then authorize my computer, but when I double click on an app nothing happens at all. Well, it gets selected (blue), but that is all. So iTunes just isn't working properly, but I don't know how to correct it.
I really hope to get some help with this problem. Thanks in advance!

Ah, not sure what I was thinking at time.
You may want to try some of the troubleshooting steps in iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases. It may help to deauthorize and then reauthorize the computer. I suspect the double-click the app advice doesn't work with iTunes 12. Nothing interesting happened when I tried. If you have any protected media it might be worth confirming that it will play.
Is this a new library with respect to the device? If so see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

    Hi,
I have tried downloading Yosemite multiple times, after the 5GB download I dont get the option to "install" i just get "Downloaded" which is grayed out and non clickable.
I am not sure how to procede from there...
Many one had this issue before... using a 2013 retina MBP..

Have you tried searching for the install file using spotlight or looking in the applications folder? When downloaded it creates and install file called 'INSTALLOSXYOSEMITE' in your applications folder.
    Hope this helps

    OS Version: 10.1.0.1720
    Carrier: Beeline KZ

    1. Update for BlackBerry Maps downloaded but not installed. What may be the problem?
    2. Maps are not available for Kazakhstan now. When do you plan to run the support of this country?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Recently there was a problem with an update of Maps.  Maybe they haven't sorted yet.  It would install and then crash.  I always end up buying an after-market map system that runs on GPS using maps on board the SD card.  Interesting, I'm going to Kazakhstan next month. How's the weather in September?

  • Leopard Snow - Update: Install button doesn't work

Software update and 10.6.1 pack: the Install button is enabled, I click it but nothing happens...
    I'd appreciate some help.
    Thanks,

If you are using a custom keyboard, then set your keyboard to the standard US layout. Then, delete this file: /users/username/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolbox. Next, log out and back in. Then try installing whatever you have been having problems with.

  • Can't install Adobe Flashplayer 11. Uninstalled old version. enabled Java. Allowed cookies. Install button grey.

Can anyone help me with this problem of installing Adobe Flashdrive 11, the latest version ? I'm bashing my head against the wall. Started when iPhoto would not load to Facebook and was advised it could be Flashplayer update after troubleshooting other options including deleting extraneous iPhoto files. I uninstalled older version, enabled Java, allowed cookies, downloaded installer but when I try to download it, the install button is grey and won't work. (This is, coindcidentally the same problem that suddenly began today with iPhoto which always worked fine before....grey button for "publish") It is ALWAYS a problem installing Adobe anything, and usually this same problem. All my software updates are current. Now I have NO Flashplayer and can't use YouTube at all, much less iPhoto.

Also, sounds like others are having this problem. Read other posts, didn't find an answer. OBVIOUSLY did not solve my problem. No delete ? First time here, sorry.

  • Downloading and installing updates later

    Hi there.
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before.
Did try searching but didn't really know what to look for.
    Anyway.
With Software Update, I decided to do the download option and leave the installing till later.
    I downloaded the updates.
And then later went into Software Update to do the installing of them. I clicked 'Install' the items but then it started redownloading all the updates again. I stopped it and tryed again, but it happened again.
I decided to install the updates by just loading the package files in the library folder.
This seemed to work, and itunes has been updated...but now wenever I load Software Update, it still wants to redownload the updates.
Does anybody know what to do?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks so much.
    Phil.

If you use the download only option of Software Update the downloaded packages are place in the /Library/Packages/ folder. Software Update does not then install those packages at a later time. You have to manually install the packages. After they are installed a receipt should be saved in the /Library/Receipts/ folder which is used by Software Update to determine what is currently installed on the computer. If a receipt for a package is found then Software Update will not attempt to download the update.

  • HT1349 I have tried repeatedly to update from iTunes 10.2.1.1 to 10.6.3. Everytime it fails and says to go to Tools and Download manually - then that fails.  HELP!

I ultimately want to update my iPhone4 to the lastest IOS and it says that I first have to update iTunes. I am stuck.

You might want to try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components first by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923, then try installing the latest version of iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Right after i click ok i then get this error: "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)." I tried to uninstall Itunes and then reinstall the 11.03 version but that didnt work either. I want to know if i copy all of the music in my itunes folder to an external without consolidating can i still transfer all my itunes music from my current windows xp pc to a brand new one and have my current itunes library in my new pc? Basically i just want to know 3 things: What exactly does consolidating the itunes library do? Can i copy, paste, and transfer my itunes library to an external and from there to a new pc? Will i be able to transfer my itunes library without consolidating the files?

I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.

  • I have Photoshop CS5, and I am re-installing it on a new hard drive. Every time I try to install the updates, it says download failed, and won't install any updates.

I have tried installing one update at a time, several together, and all at once. I have tried yesterday and today.
What can I do to get the updates to download correctly and install?

This is what I am seeing when I try to install an update:
"There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later"

You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14).    And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update.   The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily.

  • IOS Update - Download now and install later?

When I was offered the newest iOS 5.0.1 update, I was also offered to only download it and not (yet?) update my iPhone. After all, it takes a while during which I can't use the phone.
So I thought it would be a good idea to just do the download (75 minutes!) and update my iPhone later.
However, when I came back today, I was offered an iTunes update. Okay.
Later today I connected my iPhone to the computer and clicked "update", but the previously downloaded iOS update was gone. Download started again. What did I do wrong? Or - what is a download-only function good for, if I can't continue later?
    Cheers
    Hinrich

What are we talking about, an OS upgrade (like to Mavericks?)
Yes you can download and quite the installer.  It will be located in your application folder.

  • I am trying to update from 10.2 to 10.5, and this message keeps appearing. It also appeared when I tried to update to 10.3: "Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools Download Only and try installing manually"

...but I don't know where to find Tools in iTunes, and I really want to update.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:
