Update mac OS X from 10.8.1 on my new Mini i 7?
Hello. I cant update my apps because i dont have 10.8.2 on my 2 day old macmini i 7. Why hav they removed 10.8.2 update? Seams like amature misstake?!
Yeah im glad I got lucky. I installed 10.8.2 supplemental update when it came out. I just happened to be on my computer that day I guess. Heres a link to it: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1611

That will get photos from your Camera Roll album.
For photos synced to the device you need a third-party app like PhoneView or TouchCopy

facetime stopped working on mad. says "failed". works fine on phone and new mini. tried all the troubleshooting, added a unique email to the mac facetime, nothing seems to work. just keeps saying "facetime failed". any ideas???
I Got the same problem. When you change the output to internal speakers again facetime works again in the mac.
I think it may be some kind of incompatibility with the current driver. I used in the past the old tascam Us-122 and worked well but its driver don't work more for the mountain lion system so i bought this newest one.
When i used the old one I could use the volume keys on the mac keyboard to control output volume; now with the us-322 when hearing music you can control volume just from the tascam. -
I have a new ipad mini that I need to activate but I need to get the data from my old ipad 1 and install on the new mini. I have a itunes acct and also icloud acct. How do I back up the ipad 1 data and then activate the mini. I assume I will need to transfer the sim from the ipad 1 to the mini.

I am starting my new Mac Mini for the first time. (My first Mac was a classic 128K that I upgraded myself to 512K back in 1985. My most recent Mac is a G4 466 Mhz unit that I am eventually replacing with the new Mac Mini.)
I hit a snag when I got to the point where the Mini wants to connect to my home network. The network has my G4 and a MacBook on it. I have my linksys WRT54G Router set to accept only those MAC Addresses that I have authorized. This is because there are several neighborhood networks that are within range of mine.
At this point I can either disable this filtering for a short time or find the MAC address of my new Mini before I initialize it.
Can I find the MAC address before I initialize the Mini?

-JoeThe serial number and the part number were on the outside of the shipping container. Nothing on the bottom of the unit at all. I worked around this problem by temporarily disabling the MAC Address or hardware address filter on my router until I was able to look up the MAC Address on the machine, entered it to the MAC Address list then I re-enabled the MAC Address filter on the router.

Did you attempt to update with Software Update? Try this instead: download the combo updater here:

Once downloaded, unplug all peripherals except keyboard and mouse
Verify disk as outlined previously
install update
repair permissions (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility)
restart Mac
run Software Update
if there are many updates available, install a few at a time
repair permissions after the install
restart Mac -

I can't update my Ipad2 ios, from 4.3.5 to the new version
After 2 hours downloading appears a message saying that the download failed and I don't know why, I tried several times and nothing.
I had the same problem. It was driving me crazy. Finally I read somewhere in an itunes blog to try turning off my antivirus program while doing the download. It worked.

Updated mac book from 10.4 to 10.6, downloaded updates, now just have blank screen
Updated Mac Book (intel) from 10.4 to 10.6.3 using Mac Box set. This worked. Downloaded software updates from "software update", installation failed, restarted computer and now have only the 1st white screen with the wheel going round - cant do anything!
You could try some basic troubleshooting, and if that doesn't work, you could always do a complete uninstall / reinstall.
For basic troubleshooting, try throwing out *all* GB preference files from the preference folder. Also, I'd try tossing any GB files in the cache folder. Then, rebuild disk permissions using disk utility. -

If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it -
How to get songs from my old ipod to my new hard drive then to my new ipod?
Recently my computer crash and in order to fix it I had to get a new hard drive which means all my songs' files is gone! I had over 2,000! So I was wondering if there is a way in which I can take all the songs from my ipod and transfer it back to my computer now that it is fixed?? Also, my situation is a bit more complex because I am planning to get a newer ipod.
My old one is a ipod photo (I believe it is the 4th generation) and I am getting the 5th generation ipod video. Is there a way where I can transfer my songs from my old ipod back to my computer or itunes first then plug in my new one so it can update my old songs from my old ipod and my new songs' files in my computer all into my new ipod.
I reinstall itunes because I still use the program to listen to new songs that I have on my computer so I don't know if this information is useful or make things more confusing. I don't know if I should delete this version itune and reinstall the disk that comes with the ipod video? Or is it the same itunes version?

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
