Update Material Availability dates during order creation

Hi,
We have a requirement to update the material availability in the schedule lines of the order when the order is being created.
We want the update to happen after the sales order is in the Data base. We tried calling a Function module in Update task. The function module is written in the EXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT form of sales order user exit.
The FM is getting called on the commit work , but not updating the sales order. We are getting an error " Material availability date should be less than load date". On debugging we noted that the SD_SALES_SCHEDULE_MAINTAIN is called with a load date of 00/00/0000 since the sales order is not in DB.
Is there a way to call the FM after the sales order is in the database.

  • Update Material Availability Date for Sales Order having a Delivery

    Dear Gurus,
We have a bit out of the way scenario. There is a o/b delivery already added to a shipment. And then we receive a IDOC from external MES System (i.e. Production) with new material availability date. This new material availability date is updated on Sales Order. In short the order is delayed.
    Current Solution:
In this case the user has to remove the delivery from the shipment manually. then the IDOC deletes the  delivery and the updates the sales order with new date followed by creation of new delivery.
The business expects to updated the Sales Order material availability date without changing Shipment / delivery. Any solution?
Current solution has to be changed as for Shipment purpose changes are made to delivery which are lost when the delivery is deleted.

    hi
in this case you have to adopt the business process change.
you have to update the EDI first and then you create delivery.

  • Tolling / Sub-Contracting Material Quantity Change During Order Creation

I have created a requisition for 80,000 KG of a tolling material. When converting the requisition into a purchase order, one of the components of the material goes from 45,881.875 KG to 45,881.874 KG, resulting in an overall amount of 79,999.999 KG and a mismatch between my requisition and purchase order.
I have checked the rounding profiles in the MRP 1 view for all the materials, and each is set to 1.000 KG. Why is this material component rounding down?
    Thanks.

so the reduced order quantity is not caused by an component that goes down. it is actually the other way around.
SAP converts the Kg from the requisition into LB in the PO.
    And rounds the decimals.
Using this as basis then for the components.
The leading unit is now the order unit, which is LB. whenever you look at a oder  quantity in KG, then SAP converts the LB quantity back into KG, which causes again a rounding issue.
That is one of the problems when the base unit is not the smallest unit.

  • Sales Order Material Availability Date Data Source

    Hi,
I'm sorry if this information is readily available, but I read ~20 discussions and couldn't find the answer.
Can anyone help me understand how the material availability date is calculated?  Is it just based off the In-House Production or Planned Delivery Time of the material master?  What if the material has a routing?  Is there a way to update the Planned Delivery Time based on the routing?
What about for multiple levels?  (e.g. purchase a part, modify it, then ship it)  If the BoM exists will it perform the explosion and sum the planned delivery time for the raw material and the in-house production time for the finished material?
I'm asking because we are having many problems with Sales Orders for parts that we can not ship in time... so we must have something missing.
    Thanks for any help.
    Timothy

Before that you need to understand the delivery scheduling process.
For example customer requested date is 15.04 2014
Order is created today i.e 28.03.2014.
Here system always does backward scheduling first. If the backward scheduling failed then system does forward scheduling. Backward scheduling failed if the material availability date is going beyond the order creation date. then in that case system does forward scheduling.
Backward scheduling does based on the customer requested date and forward scheduling does based on the order creation date.
when system does forward scheduling it will get two scheduling date in the schedule line tab.
    Suppose Pick/Pack time is 1
    Loading date is 1
    transit time is 1
    transportation time is 1
Here system will do the backward scheduling first for calculating the customer requested date
Delivery date minus transit time (Route) = Goods issue date
Goods issue date minus loading time (shipping point) = Loading date
Loading date minus transportation lead time (Route )= Transportation Planning date
Loading date minus pick/pack time (Shipping point) = Material availability date
here material availability date is 12.04.2014. on that date system will check whether material is available or not. If yes, then system will confirmed the quantity. If not then system will again do forward scheduling.
Suppose material available date is 13.04.2014 then system will add the all the above date to material availability date to calculate the actual customer delivery date
So here the customer requested date is 16.04.2014
Transportation lead time & pick/pack run parallely. system will consider the highest between both.

  • Material Availability Date of Sales Order

    An issue 1  :
There is material which is GATP relevant and stock is available in APO and R3.When GATP check is performed MAD Date is shown as Current Day +1,where as it should be Current Day only. And this issue happens on Friday only i.e GATP returns Current day as MAD day on other than friday.
    An  issue 2 :
There are Sales Order already created for a material sat mat1 with availability check code  "ZF" in MRP3 tab of material master. The MAD has already been calculated with existing settings through GATP functionality.
What is required that change the availability check code in MRP3 tab of material master to "ZB" and re-check the availability of the already created sales orders in R3.
But what we understand since Sales Order already created for Availability check code "ZF",new changed "ZB" will not impact the ATP check.
    An issue 3 ;
What are the settings influence the calulations of MAD in APO and R3.
Is there any way this can be achieved.
    Manish

    Manish,
First, you will always get better responses in this forum if you enter one issue per post.  Many people are unwilling to respond to a multi-question posting.
Issue 1.  There are dozens of factors that can contribute to a Material Availability date in APO. Are you using RBA?  Allocation? ATP against a forecast? CTP?  Transportation Scheduling? etc etc etc......
The most likely reason is that you have an issue with with valid workdays in one of the calendars that affect your GATP check.
Issue 2 - This is mostly an R/3 issue.  The practice you call out (change the MM ATP checking group and re-atp the order) is only supported by SAP in a limited way.  The easiest way I have found to do this is to open the sales order, remove the plant from the item, and then save the order.  Make your changes to the MM.  Wait until the MM changes get to SCM.  Now, re-open the sales order, and re-enter the plant.  If you are lucky, the sales order will re-read the updated MM data, and re-atp the order in SCM using the updated SCM data.  Now, re-save the sales order.
By the way, don't think that you can now blithely change the ATP checking group in R/3 back to the old value.  You will face additional problems in delivering and shipping the order later. The process I described should only be used to correct an existing MM error.
Also, be aware that any ATP checking group beginning with a 'Z' has been customized for your company.  You should contact the local SD expert to see what changes your company had made for these ZD and ZB groups.
Issue 3 - GATP is a large module in SCM.  There are many types of checks.  Each one has it's own items that can affect MAD (generation of MAD is the prime output of GATP).  I couldn't possibly cover them all in a single posting.  The standard SAP overview class for GATP is 3 days, and this class doesn't go into much detail.  I strongly recommend that you consult with your local GATP functional expert, or consider hiring an expert GATP consultant if you wish to proceed with your development of APO GATP.
    Good luck!

    DB49.

  • Creditreport that displays Sales Orders with Material Availability Date as

    Hi
I need input if the following requirement can be met in FSCM credit mgmnt.
Currently In FDK43 there is a total sales figure that represents the Sales that are consuming the Credit Limit assigned to the customer, unfortunately there is no drill down on this number to see which sales orders are responsible for the consumption of credit
Do we have any sales report that displays Sales Orders with Material Availability Date as an output in conjunction with Credit limit .

Not in standard provided. Custom program is required.

  • Difference in Material availability date for ECC ATP check & for APO ATP check in the same order

    Hi Gurus,
I have a question: on what basis material availability date is calculated in forward scheduling?
    Eg:
For a customer GR hours are maintained in unloading point calendar in customer master and Customers are not CIF'ed across to APO.
GR hours are maintained for weekdays from 8:00 to 12:00 & 1:00 to 6:00.
In a sales order with two line items with Requested date today & plenty of stock on hand for two products( ECC & APO) where line 10 (product 1) triggers ECC ATP check & line 20 (product 2) triggers APO ATP check at same location (loc1).
RDD is today, material availability date for ECC ATP check (line 10) is today (working as expected) but where as the material availability date for APO ATP check (line 20)is pushed to next day by which for the same customer there are different delivery dates. And two delivery notes will be created & truck will be on road at different times for the same customer which is unacceptable.
What am I missing here to get the material availability date as today for forward scheduling? Please guide me on this.
    Thanks,
    Nihar

    Hi Nihar
Though the logic you mentioned makes sense. I am confused here with the data you have provided:

In the first row, the difference in RDD in UTC and UTC+6 is 6 hours. However, in the last three rows I can see the difference between UTC time and UTC+6 time is 7 hours. Would you know the reason to this? Also, in the first four rows, CET time = 7:24 which should had been 19:24. Please correct me if I am missing something here.

  • For Dynamic Credit Check replacing Material Availability date with Delivery date

    Hi All,
Our client has this requirement, where they want to change the standard SAP functionality which Checks whether a schedule line item in a sales order is with in horizon or not based on "Material Availability Date" VBEP-MBDAT. They want in place of this Delivery date of schedule line should be used i.e. VBEP-EDATU. I did some research and found out that this could be done technically by updating the BADI "BADI_SD_CM".
Now we are stuck as to what needs to be changed? has anybody worked on this kind of requirement before?
    Please share your past experience.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Prateek Maheshwari.

As you know, VBELN-Currency-POSNR-ETENR-MBDAT is standard exposure key of sales order but my ex-colleague changed it into VBELN-Currency-POSNR to compress exposure data for certain CCA.
In this case, of course, that CCA should meet some biz requirements(User-exit. etc) like no partial delivery. etc.... for integrity of exposures..
This case is different because you want to change value of key....and it's Date!!!!
Anyway I think it's techinically possible but it's very risky in live system because existing exposures would be not removed even if delivered, changed, deleted or blocked.
So you have to delete all exposures and rebuild after program changed.
I'm writing it's possible now but I refused when my customer want to change it because I don't have any way to rebuild huge data in live system.

  • Material Availability date differs in R/3 & APO

    Hi,
We are facing Issue with Material Avaialbility date for Planner order/Manufacturing Order in R/3 and APO.
We are using a Master Recipe for PDS Creation in APO which consists on 9-10 different operations, out of which only inbetween operation 4-5-6 is scheduled in APO.
So in APO Other Operations are not availble in PDS and hence not considered for scheduling as required. Also GR Processing Time is maintained on Product Master for which infinite Capcity Handling resource in created in APO.
When we schedule Operations in APO, the Scheduled dates for Operation 4-5-6 is sent back to R/3 and for other Operations based on relationship maintained takes addistional 1-2 Days.
In R/3 Availability Date for Planner Order/Manufacturing Order is calculating by adding a GR time after Operation 10 end time, while in APO as ony operation 4-5-6 is available a GR time is added after Operation 6, which is resulting in Differnet availability date for Order in R/3 and APO.
Kindly suggets a way to same date in R/3 and APO, if anyone has faced same Issue.
    Thanks for your Help !!!

    Hi Senthil,
I completly understand, that APO Material Availability date is GR end Date while in R/3 its a Process Order end date.
    But Problem is not that.
Problem is not all operation of Process order are in APO, so assume u have 5 operations in Process order out of which only first 3 are relevant for schedulilng in APO. So APO schedules these 3 Operation and adds the GR time to Show the avaiablity date.
While in R/3 GR Time is added after end of Operation 5 which is right, so GR end date in R/3 and APO dont match.
Let me know if you think some more on this...!!!
    Thanks and Appreciated !!!

  • Material availability date issue

    Hello,
I am trying to create a sales order with 100 Kg of one material listed. Unrestricted stock for this material is 780 Kg in the system. When I save the order however, material availability date shows as one day forward from the current date, i.e. tomorrow's date shows if order was made today. This affects the posting of the dispatch advise (Outbound delivery). It does not let me post the DA until I change the selection date in VL01N to a date that is the same or later than the material availability date. This is fine. What I want to know is why is the material availability date showing as one day after the order date on the sales document? If stock is on hand and we want to dispatch the same day as the order it can't be done at present. Please help.
    Regards

    Dear Khan
Go to OVLZ, select your shipping point and check in "Pick/pack time wrkdys" whether any value is maintained.  If so, remove that and now retry.  Bcoz, for example, if 2 is given in this field, even if stock is available on the same day of order creation, system will allow to do PGI only after 2 days from the date of order created
    thanks

  • Material Availability Date and Corresponding Basic finish date

    Hi experts,
I have one requirement from my Business for updating Basic Finish date based on the Material availability date
Requirement goes like this, When we enter a Component of 100 qty  in the service order , if stock is not available we get system status as MSPT and IWBK we can see how much quantity confirmed
But i dont see any table or report which shows when this material can be available for further delivery. Based on the next available material date i have to change the basic finish date in the service Order
Please let me know if you any report available for this or any standard approach. I want to know if any exist to leverage this functionality and logic how to get this accomplished
    thanks
    sarvan

    Sarvan,
You would need to perform this check when saving the work order as there could be multiple components all with differing ATP dates.
But a development could do something like:
Read all active/open components/materials on the work order
Determine the availability data for each component/material
Determine the latest of the above dates
Apply this date to the order Basic Finish Date
You would need to ensure your scheduling parameters do not set this date back to its original value (OPU7).
You could achiev the above through user-exit IWO10009 (SMOD) or BADI WORKORDER_UPDATE (SE18).

  • Manual selection production version during order creation

    hello!
i have setup production orders that during order creation the production version has to be selected manually. this works fine in CO01 and CO40. but in CO41 the production version is determined automatically - where would i change that setting?
    best regards,
    matthias

    Dear Matthias,
In my understanding it is not possible in standard SAP.
If you have manual selection of production version and if you have set the BOM selection method as 2 in
MRP 4 view of the material master then,
1.If you create a production order manually then the system displays the pop up to select a production
    version.
2.If you are converting the planned order into a production order then it picks up the one which is
present in the planned order. So obviously if 2 production versions are there with same lot size and
validity dates, then the system picksup the first one only during MRP run.
Even if it picks up the first prod.version in planned order, but while converting click on master data and
change the production version if required.
3.Otherwise what you can do is set the production version in MD61 itself ,so that its going to be
considered during MRP run and same will be included in the planned order.
    Check and revert back.

    hi,
KALSM is the pricing procedure and it will be same for the document during creation and re-pricing, how dose it help in determining if user pressed update button.

  • MRP is not considering material availability dates for sorting customer ord

    Hello Experts,
MRP is not considering material availability dates for sorting customer order/ sales order in sequence (thatu2019s is oldest from newest in order) in MD04.
    Please suggest.

    Om,
No.  Aside from my obvious desire to preserve my privacy, it would be a disservice to the other forum members.  No-one else but you and I would understand your problem, and no-one else but you would be able to benefit from any solutions.
