Update my Apple ID information without changing my Password

i need to update some expired  information in my Apple ID. My password contains upper and lower case letters, symbols and numerals. However, when I log on to the apple id page, I'm accosted with a form that is forcing me to change my password. I DONT WANT TO CHANGE IT. How in the world do I bypass that page and continue on to my Apple ID information?

If you are getting a prompt to change the password then it's unlikely that you will be able to do so - depending upon what info that you are trying to change, then you've tried logging in via a different way e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone, the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, and the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com (you can't change payment details via that site)

    Did you go on-line and fix your billing information? You probably need to do this from iTunes on your computer, not your phone.
    If you've double checked your credit card info and it still won't take it, contact your card issuer.

  • HT201303 How do I change the security questions without changing my password?

    When I am trying to buy something from the iTunes store it askes me two security questions. I know what the answers should be but they do not seem to match what Apple has. So, I tried to change the questions but now it also wants me to change teh password. I don't want to change the password. How can I eitehr find out my answers or change the questions without changing a password I obviously know!?!?!

    Reset Security Questions
    Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    Manage My Apple ID
    Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
    If all else fails:
      1. Go to: Apple Express Lane;
      2. Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
      3. Then choose iTunes Store;
      4. Then choose Account Management;
      5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
          Continue;
      6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
      7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
          like your security/challenge questions reset;
      8. Click Send/Continue.
    You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
    In the event you are unsuccessful then contact AppleCare - Contacting Apple for support and service.
    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

    If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
    to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
    version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
    likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
    G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
    which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
    The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
    A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.
    {With the correct disc installer, you can use it to change a password and other
    things including re-install, and perform disk utility functions, etc.}
    There is a chance you may be able to get a white-label Replacement 10.4 DVD
    or Replacement 10.5 DVD from AppleCare or the online Apple Store (800myapple)
    from a Mac OS X system specialist; these have been available yet hard to get
    as not all persons involved with them seem to know if they still exist until someone
    is asking. These aren't retail stock, are special discs for computers who could use
    a system later than original old discs; these are complete install discs not for one
    specific series of Mac. Generally they'd work in supported PowerPC G4/G5; but
    do not replace specialized original install DVD, such as an early Intel mac requires.
    You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
    when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
    and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
    labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
    sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
    or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
    that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.
    Good luck!

    Someone used my email address to create an Apple ID. I logged in to appleid.apple.com and I changed the password because it is freaking me out. I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that? Is there also a way to ensure that the email address wont be used again by this person to create another Apple ID?
    This is compounded actually by a Gmail issue. I have had this email address for ages, since the start of the beta. But lately in the last year or so, I am getting mail that seems to be intended for other people but it is using my email address. It is probably one of them who created the Apple ID.

  • I have been trying to update my software and since I changed my password, nothing works. I am now updating again and don't know what to do.

    I have been trying to update my software and since I changed my password, nothing works. I am now updating again and don't know what to do. I am prompted to contact the Itune store and get this song and dance to get here and still the software such as purchased apps hang but don't update or mount.

    What password?
    What update?
    Step by step, specifically what are you attempting to do?

  • How can i see how many people are using my apple id without changing the password ?

    how can i see how many people are using my apple id without changing because some people have it

    I'm not sure that you can. Why have so many people got your password? So many in fact, that you don't know how many.
    You can see how many computers are authorised to play any songs you have purchased from the iTunes Store, but that isn't quite the same thing.
    Perhaps a better idea would be to change the password and not let anyone else know what it is. That would at least prevent anyone else from changing it and locking you out of your own account.

    Reset iPad and continue with update
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    Note: Data will not be affected.

  • With the new updates, why do I need to change my password

    Today, 2/16/12, I tried to log into my apple id account and was forced to change my password, has anyone else had to do this and does anyone know why this is happening, as dumb as it sounds I was used to my old password and would like to keep using it

    When did you set up your old password?
    A while back, Apple updated the requirements so passwords must contain 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and have 8 characters minimum.

  • I have an older version of iTunes on my office computer and it will not let me update to the current version without an administrative password. How can I get around this??

    I have an older version of iTunes on my office computer and it will not allow me to upgrade to the newer version without an administrative password. How can I get around this???

    If you have an iBook G4, (PPC) you can't do much.
    But if that is a MacBook (intel) you may be able to
    upgrade the OS X, if the hardware is up to it...
    Since there were about nine different build models
    of MacBook (not powerpc iBook) to identify what
    one you have would be the first step to knowing
    what OS X and RAM upgrades it could use.
    If the computer is not already at OS X 10.6.8,
    it can't go online to get or use OS X 10.7.5. So,
    when you more accurately describe the 'Book,
    detailed information is available.
    When you find the serial number, there is a web
    page that can be used to identify by serial no.
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com/identify-mac-serial.php
    That'd be a first step. Or even the Model number
    which should be visible on the outer case by hinge.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Apple wanted me to change my password

    look... first time using this... apple wanted me to change my password

    Yes change the password for your Apple ID. It sounds like somebody tried/was successful in setting up an iOS device or new Mac computer's FaceTime and Messages.
    Thus someone seems to know your Apple ID password.
    Who else knows the password? It is trival to find the ID email address
