Update NEW Itunes Library on new pc from I-Pod
HI all,
I just moved from NYC and changed laptops, living in Amsterdam now.
I updated my account from US to NL. Now I need want to transfer the songs on my Ipod to Itunes which I downloaded on my new laptop.
Itunes automatically asks if I would like to tranfer all bought songs to my laptop once I attached the Ipod to the laptop - on which I replied "yes". THe transfer started perfectly but stops on one particular song and it does not seem to be able to get "over" this song. I have to say, it is not the best song ever
I tried unplugging, restarting etc. Does anyone have any idea how I can "push" this song through or push the Ipod over this hurdle so it does download all my other songs??? Thank you in advance and have a great weekend!!

There are a couple options available to you to transfer purchased media to your computer. Below, I have included a couple articles that outline this process.

Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod to the iTunes library.

Ok, so I have a new computer and wanted to transfer my itunes library from my old computer. I could not get the files to transfer. I downloaded the newest version of itunes and see that I can download my previously purchased music to the new computer. I have mp3's that I can add in on my own so I don't have a problem starting over in itunes.
My question is what happens when I plug in my 1st gen ipod touch and try to sync??? Will it erase what is on my ipod or will I be able to move the stuff from my ipod into my new itunes library?? Any info would be great...I'm happy with how my ipod is set up so I really don't want to mess with a good thing. Also, will I need to update and of my software on my ipod since it's 1st generation??
Thanks for the help!!You can only sync to one iTunes library/computer. If you do sync the iPod is erases and its contents replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the second computer.

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases -
I cannot update my iTunes library with new apps.
I bought several apps directly from my iPhone. If I update my iTunes library, I receive a warning that I might lose all my purchased apps. It never happened to me before. HELP!
The picture of my iphone in the iTunes' library looks foggy, as they are not activated to be moved into the library listing.I've got it to work. If that's the same error you received, then I have to assume you're using Windows 64-bit (as all the people I found with the same problem do). Go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", right-click "Programs" and select "Properties".
On the Security Tab, Click "Advanced".
Go to the Owner tab, and Click "Edit".
Change the owner to yourself, Check "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects", and Click OK.
And then re-run the installation. Hope that works! -

I'm not sure how the Purchased Playlist decides what to put into it, but if you want to see all of your purchased items, then you need to go to the iTunes Store, and on the right side, under Quick Links, click on Purchased.
Then, click on the Music (or whatever other purchased items tab you want to look at). If you are looking at Music, click on All Songs, and then on "All" or "Not on this Computer" (depending on what you want to see).

Hi, I have an iphone 4 with my itunes library on a Windows XP computer. My spouse (who has now passed away) had an itouch with an itunes library on an IMac. here is the problem, I bought an new iphone 6 and wanted to sync with my windows xp library and of course my itunes version is out of date and I need to update it...well I try and update the version and it will not update the Itunes library and when I researched it I would have to upgrade from XP to Windows 7...r they kidding me...first of all my computer is old and a pain in the *** but I have my itunes library on it. Sp to get my phone working I sync'd it on the IMac and my spouses Itunes library has been sync'd to my iphone and I don't know how to get my library on it...After thinking about it I want to combine the libraries after all there are some purchases on each one.
I have done some research and you have to buy a 3rd party piece of software...this is not the way I want to go...I do not think i should have to buy one and also when I do a goole search there are a ton of them out there and I am sorry i do not trust the comments as some of them do identify that they will get a kick back.
Can someone help, i should be able to export my itunes library from my iphone 4 to the itunes library by appending/importing it...it is not rocked science on what I want to do and I cannot find out any process...

I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me how to get the music from my old ipod mini into the new itunes library on my new laptop.
The mini was previously sync'd with my old PC which died so my files are only present on the ipod. Upon loading itunes, the software is only letting my sync the ipod providing I wipe it (obviously not desirable...)

I'm trying to update my iPhone4 to version 6.0. I've already done a back up and transferred my purchases. I don't have my original iTunes with all of my music so I had to download new iTunes; is there any way for me to transfer my music from my iPhone to my new iTunes Library? (If not, will the back up I did save my music?)
Please help!!!!???!!!!If you transferred you purchases, any music purchased from the iTunes store that was on your phone should have been transferred to your iTunes library (and will appear in the Purchased folder). However iTunes will not transfer music from other sources from your phone to your iTunes library. This can only be done using 3rd party software such as Touch Copy (pc or mac) or PhoneView (mac only). Otherwise you'll have to import it to iTunes from the original sources (such as your CDs).

Receiving error new itunes library after update
just updated itunes and can not open itunes. Receiving error message 'new itunes library'
how can i fix ?I had the same problem. I simply uninstalled 11 completely off my computer. Then went to itunes.com and re-downloaded it. In your music folder there is a folder "iTunes" and in there a sub folder named "Previous iTunes Library." When you uninstall iTunes from your computer this folder remains put and is what retains your music library when you re download and install iTunes.
I never use playlists so I wouldnt know if your playlists are saved.
This is how it worked for me, I'm sure there are other solutions to the problem but this is the route I took. Hope this helps! -

I was concerned about this when I got my new iMac last year and had to say goodbye to my old emac (sob!) In the end I had to copy all my tunes etc onto an external hard drive and transfer to the iMac. I think I had to do that in this scenario, but now I have a new iPad when I connect to iTunes on iMac it shows that I can sync and transfer the iTunes stuff if I wanted. I would be extra safe and back up the old tunes first on an external disk, esp if you have loads. I back up my stuff even now from my iMac iTunes as I don't even want to think about how much the stuff is worth!!

After PC crash, can I load info from IPod to new ITunes library?

Hello: following computer malfunction,I purchased a new computer and downloaded itunes. when I try to sync my purchased data on my ipad I am asked to delete data from previous library. The first library has all of my stored data. How do I transfer this data to my new itunes library? . I cannot use the cloud as my data plan has a limited band width cap ( I live in rural Alberta , northern).My library may be on my tera drive, but then how do i delete this library once I transfer the files, that is if i am able to locate them ? this is a question for all itunes lovers, I love it when i know how to use it, so far not computer literate to loving it! thanks so very much for considering this problem.

I transfered music from my ipod to a new itunes library (new PC). The music plays in itunes but when I sync my ipod and try to drag songs from the itunes library to the ipod it wont load. It shows a circle with aline through it.
