i have a nokia 3250. i wanted to update my phone and i downloaded the updater from the website. but when i install it to my pc it says vbscript missing and it says fatal installtion error. what can i do.
and is it good to upgrade my phone, i mean will i have any notable changes.
the main reason that i want to install it is to be able to install applications which don't work now. for example kaspersky, symantec anti-viruses.

Well, after being advised by Vodafone Customer Service to take it to a Vodafone shop to get it fixed else they will have to take it away for repairs, so I did.
Vodafone staff says, we don't fix, but we can send it away for u.....
So, back to square one.
1. My phone has lost the bottom 2 touch icons due to a phone update
2. So, I tried using Nokia Software Update on my PC, configutation error - Darn!
3. So I use Nokia Ovi Suite - Cannot update - doubledarn!!
Anyone has a [v40.0.003] file for Nokia 5230 that I can download direct onto my PC then copy to my phone for installation?

Nokia 3250 Software update V 04.14 / no Language s...

i just updated my Nokia 3250 from v3.24 to V 4.14
i found that the text font got bold, and no Arabic Support!
just English/French/Protugues
and among others things, Sound got Weaker, or lower!
and low qaulity, before i hear my phone ringtone allover the house, now just like any other phone!@
the only good thing about this update, is that they give u a free theme, which is c**p :-P

Unable to Update Nokia C5_00 Software

Hi..
I am using Nokia C5_00 phone.On Nokia website latest software for Nokia C5_00 is 101.003(copy enclosed) and software currently installed on my phone is 071.005.When I tried to update my phone software through Nokia Suite 3.8.48 and phone software update application message displayed No updates found.I already contact the Nokia Care center they reinstall the software 071.005.Kindly provide me solution.

@Har_Singh in the Nokia Software Recovery Tool, what is your 7-letter code (Nokia Product Code)? No Windows computer or USB: The same code is printed on your phone. That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. We can check together whether you have the correct variant, only with that code.

Nokia 3250 software update File!

can use DAP or any download accelerator to just download the update file, and then use the updater to update my phone soft?
when i used the updater the connection sometimes stops and there's no Resume!!!
i have to start all over again, and the update file is 61.7MB!

The NSU update will deliver a phone software (firmware) package that has the same languages that were on the device when it left the factory where it was made.
If the language has been changed after that by a "grey market" importer/reseller, then you may loose the language that is on the device now.

Error updating nokia 6300 software

Heloo
I tried o update my nokia 6300 device, I downloaded the program from the net! It was ok, untill i tryed to update my phone! Apperars a screen, which says:Updating software, pls w8:
and then don't panic.Everything happes ok,my screen blanked. But the Estimated time remained 15 min. I dont touch nothing, but 20 minutes later it says taht it cant find my phone, i have to try to reconnect it, pick out my battery an so... bla bla
I tried everything but it couldn't find 2nd time my device, and my device isn't turning on! Please help, what can I do??
NEED HELP URGENT, I don't wanna pay for repairt it, as this device ins't mine ((((((

Look in the "Pool of Knowledge" board. The second topic there is "Recovering from a failed update".
If that doesn't work then you'll have to take the phone into a Nokia Care Point for repairs. The good news is, if the phone is under warranty, that the fix and the update will be free of charge.

Updating Nokia 5800 Software version

I am having difficulty in updating the software version of my Nokia 5800 Express music. I want to install map installer and heard that my software version has to be updated. I tried *#0000# but it asks me of the server profile. Yesterday i tried through the nokia ovi suit but it could not finish. the versio around 51.... was the one i was downloading. My current version is V21.2.025. Please help me, or even tell me how i can get the previous versions of Nokia Map installer other than v3

Can't Update Nokia 515 Software

I've been trying to update the software on my new Nokia 515, the phone has v05.09 and the Nokia website says the latest version is 10.34.
When I try, menu>settings>phone>device updates
I always get the message 'No network connection. Unable to download.' I've got a good internet connection so I don't know why.
I saw a thread on here suggesting the Nokia Recovery Tool to update the software but when I tried that (phone connected in modem mode) it couldn't see the phone.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Mhm, you are the second one reporting issues with AMD USB Host Controllers. Please, note your current version of your driver, update to the latest version, and report success/failure. In case of success, please, mention your old version, so Nokia is able to look into this. Even if you still fail, report, so Nokia is able to create a support-ticket internally to investigate this.

Error code 12017,nokia e66 software updation fails

The following errors occours when i want to update nokia e66 software
i was updating my phone software,during updating something wrong done,due to this
1- My mobile phone files mmssync and contact group ds plugin corrupted.
2- When i update my phone software through nokia suit, nokia suit try to install mmssync and contact group ds plugin but gives error msg files are corrupted.

Answare me as soon as possible.

I doubt that it will fix your firmware installation problem, but I did once have a problem where a "DS Plugin" became corrupt. The fix is to manually delete the bad program(s) in Application Manager (possibly in Control Panel -> Application Manager -> Installed Apps). This is perfectly safe. Delete "Contact Group DS Plugin" and probably "MMSync", too, then reboot the phone and reconnect it to Nokia Suite. The plugins should then install normally. I hope that helps.

Nokia 5800 software update (from V31.0.101 to V40....

Does anybody works for Nokia here? I'm still hopeful to get real answers from real Nokia Support employees.

I purchased your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music mobile phone and I am trying to update the software/driver to improve 1: Touch Screen scrolling, 2: version of OviMaps, 3: Ovi Contacts, 4: SW application, and 5: WLAN performance.
I called technical support for mobile phones, unfortunately it is unavailable according to the recording, i've waited for thinking its a wrong message, but nothing happened the call dropped after the message.
The current software version is V31.0.101 and it does not upgrade. I have tried using my phone options to upgrade/update the software, this did not work, i have tried using the Nokia Software Updater but it can not find the new version of the software, and I have tried searching for the new software version by using my phone code under the battery and still it can not find the new software version.
I need help on resolving this issue.

The phone touch screen is not very responsive.
Limited setting/shortcut you can set on the main screen.
Alarm is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s late.
Clock settings/time zone is not working properly.
The charger port on the phone is a bit loose. Charging gets interrupted even if there is only little movement.
Option is to update NOKIAs 5800 software. Current version is V31.0.101, the latest version is V40.0.005.

My mate has the same mobile NOKIA 5800 on a Virgin Mobile plan; he was able to update the software. I got images of his phone and my phone with different versions, mine was the old version his got the new 40.0.005 His mate has the same phone as well, which they manage to update the software. He tried helping me update the software, but ended up unable to update the software and got frustrated.
Option is to speak with TeleChoice Barrack Street. After TeleChoice checked the phone why it will not upgrade they suggested having the phone serviced/checked by Nokia Care in Morley.
I let Nokia have a look at the mobile/issue, they told me they will be able to update the software for me, I left my mobile with them, and after 3 business days and the going back and forth to Nokia, and they were unable to update the software. Very sadly, they said it’s being locked by Optus.
I am using 3 as my provider, the mobile I bought it outright from TeleChoice, no plan whatsoever. So I don’t understand why Nokia said it is being locked by Optus.
The option provided for me is to patiently wait for updates, which is available now or to return the product.
Now I am processing a replacement of the device from TeleChoice 10/02/03, hoping to have the issue rectified. They should rectify this, or there will be a violation againts fair trading.

Actually, it has nothing to do with locking to their network. That's a totally different problem altogether that's independent from the branding.
What's happening here is altering the firmware so that it contains Three's logo and links to some of their services in the menu. Plus maybe a few alterations to maintain compatibility with the network, although they should be minor since unbranded phones will work on Three.
The trouble with making these alterations to updated firmware is that it takes time and therefore money to do it, and they get nothing in return. That's why it's such a low priority for network operators to approve updates.

problem no.1
i update nokia 3250 RM-38 from v03.21 to v03.24 through using the Nokia software updater.
after updated i found that my Chinese language gone,
it suppose in the v03.21,but now all is gone,i cant even read Chinese words.
*i am looking for downgrade back to v03.21,or any solutions that can get back chinise language to my nokia 3250.

after upgrade v03.21 to v03.24 i found that my pc suite unable to recognize my phone after connect through the usb cable,this made me cant restore what i have backup in my pc,i lost all my contacts and messages now..

Hello, I have as a Cellphone model Nokia 3250 - its operatior is Mexican - "Telcel GSM" I looked for software updated and this site was the only one to have my phone, After Updating my phone I notice some exciting changes, I could now see who was my operator at the time, since I live at a border state its easy to go from Mexico to USA in a jiffy. After updating phone I asked for internet service in my phone and Messaging in my phone. Yet for some reason, It comes out as packet not found. I could not been the phone since in the past I tried to logg into Internet and messages, it would let me but not send, or enter internet it just told me page not availabe. Any help? I waited for another update, but I seems no new Nokia 3250 updates are available. Any Help?

well...i may be an exception but i have no complaints with 4.14. my phone works as smoothly as ever....except for one glitch which has been there since i bought the phone....
sometimes my phone simply restarts after i execute a service command...eg: *456# (checking balance amount on my account)
anyone faces the same problem?

Most of the users here say that 3.18 is the best when it come to sound quality. You might wanna wait before you upgrade. I have 4.14 and it doesn't support arabic either. I suggest you wait
