Update numbers from version 2.1, App Store shows no update

Hi!
I have numbers '09 version 2.1 installed on my macbook. Now I would like to get an update in order to use it within the icloud. I tried to buy it using the MacAppStore, but I alway get the message : You habe numbers installed, use the Update in the MacAppStore. But there are no possibilities shown to update the program.
Any Ideas what can be done.
Thanks!

H,
Have you run "Software Update" from the Apple menu? It would be quite odd for the Mac App Store to find your copy of Numbers and for Software Update not to find it. Software Update should download the update itself or invoke the updater in the Mac App Store. One way or the other, the program should update to version 2.2 and the update should be free.

I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you.

  • I just installed Yosemite. iPhoto is gone, and Photos does not open.  Instead, I am prompted to update to the latest version. The App Store tells me that is not available in the US.  What do I do?  Cannot access any photos.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Upgrading from cd install to app store for iwork

I'm currently at snow leopard, but preparing to updated to Mavericks (which I still have waiting to update on my MBP). I have the cd installed version of iwork, but software update, after a certain version, stopped offering updates. I know iwork went to the app store instead. Will my 3 iwork apps be recognized by the app store update process after I update to Mavericks, or will I have to delete and repurchase through the Mac App store? Just trying to get a heads up

If you previously downloaded Mavericks from the OS X App Store, you will be able to download it again. If not, it is gone, and no longer available — and you will either need to upgrade to Yosemite, or purchase Mountain Lion from the Apple Online Store. If you choose Yosemite, it is advisable on older hardware that you strongly consider 8GB of RAM. Do a total system backup before you update the OS.
You could also install the newer OS X alongside Snow Leopard in its own partition, and give yourself a dual-boot machine.
Since the iWork '09 DVD installs application dependent Frameworks (libraries) into the operating system, you should assume that these may get purged during any operating system update. I would recommend reinstallation from the iWork '09 DVD, followed by this Apple iWork 9.3 updater, which brings these applications to their last revision. If you install Mountain Lion, the OS X App Store will tell you that new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are available, but not compatible with Mountain Lion, it may then offer to update your iWork '09 applications. If not, then the preceding advice.
The iWork '09 applications (well Pages anyway) sees the iCloud Drive in Yosemite. The Share menu item, Send via Mail, is now inoperable.

  • Mac App Store showing already installed updates

    Hello there,
Mac App Store shows me often, but not always, already installed updates. Downloading them again doesn't help. Checking the version number in these programs, the updates are correctly installed. This is a little bit annoying and the update list gets a little bit crowded. Is there any solution for this problem? I have installed Mac OS 10.7.2. There's just one Apple-ID.
Thanks a lot for your help!

    Try deleting the cache...
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Then restart your Mac.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For LIon:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

  • App Store shows updates that I've already updated.  Why?

The Mac App Store wants me to install updates that I've already installed.  It finds and updates software on my Mac, just as it should, but the next time I return to the App Store, it says I haven't updated that software even though I have.
Example:  Aperture.  The Mac App Store found an update: version 3.4.3.  Great!  I installed it over a week ago.  In fact, when I launch Aperture and go to About Aperture, I see that I'm running version 3.4.3.  So, why does the Mac App Store show the 3.4.3 update listed on my Updates tab?
I see six updates in the updates page, but I've already updated them.  Pixelmator: updated.  Coda 2:  Updated.  Aperture: updated.  But they're still listed as if they haven't been updated at all.  What's going on, and how can I fix it?

OH!!!  Good idea!  I removed the backup from Spotlight indexing.  My backup is a clone, not incimental like Time Machine.  This didn't immediately solve it, I assume because the index already exists, but time will tell if it solves it from this point forward.
I'm in the same boat as Jalupuna in that I have a SuperDuper! clone backup. BUT, as soon as I did as Dah•veedsuggested, the App Store "updates" disappeared!
So thanks to Dah•veed , his suggested solved the issue for me!

  • App Store shows 2 updates but doesn't open

    Mc Book Pro Retina

    OS X Mavericks 10.9.5
After 4 months of non activity (I have been away) I checked for updates. The App Store shows 2 in its icon. When clicking to open it opens but nothing is there - feels like a dead-end. How to make App Store work?

  • App Store shows Twitter update again and again

    Hello boys and girls.
My Mac App Store shows the update 2.0.1 for Twitter again and again. I downloaded it 10 times again and it didn´t go away. Twitter is on 2.0.1 and the MAS shows the update again. On my iMac there wasn´t a problem with this update.
Sorry for my bad english skills. I´m a german guy. I hope you understand my problem.
    Regards
    m1LLo

Without the Twitter app installed the Mac App Store continues to display Twitter as being available to receive an update — this to me sounds like Cached information that is corrupt.
Are you certain that you removed the following files:
Remove all files in the Caches folder from the following 2 locations:
    Macintosh HD/Library/Caches
    System/Library/Caches
You might even want to remove Caches from your home folder but I am certain it's not there because the App Store is a system wide applications and it install app into the Applications folder which is also system wide. As an addendum to this, I am also convinced that if you log into another user account on your mac you will continue to see this update offered.
    Also remove
    ~/Library/Caches
You must restart your mac immediately afterward. There is no point attempting to empty the trash because these cache files are likely active.
    Please confirm

  • I do not have some apps in my mac but still app store shows them as update available

I have a Mac Book Pro. I installed some apps and then deleted them from my mac. All the apps are no longer visible in the launchpad. But still the mac app store shows them as an update available. Kindly tell my either how to uninstall those apps completely or how to get rid of the problem.

    Hi Rishu1998,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you dont want to see some purchases in iTiunes store. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • App store shows new update for program I did not purchase

App store shows new update for program I did not purchase. This is "CodeBox". When I push button to download update it shows "uknown error". For normal other updates - "update all" not working anymore.
How to delete this line from updates section now.

The problem was finally solved. I am writing very simple solution for those who may have same issue. I tried 1st solution proposing to exclude HDD from Spotlight search and then to restore it (delete from exceptions). It worked for some time and removed notification, however later it appeared again. Then I has started thinking that it was caused by data inside some installed SW and it has been proved later. I have started excluding from Sportlight not all HDD but by folder, searching for the problem area. I have discovered that folder Games was causing the issue. Then I have started to delete installed games one by one and have found Game with was triggering this notification (for other SW!). Problem was fixed after deleting this game. Other deleted games could be easily restored from recycle been.

  • IOS 7 App Store showing old updates / showing updates and not letting me install

I noticed two issues with the iOS 7 App Store starting last night.  I'm not sure if it's a temporary issue, since the issue seems to be server-side on Apple's part, or if it's a long-term issue.
I am running iOS 7.0.2 on an iPhone 5s.  I do not have automatic updates for apps turned on (I like checking what an app is updating before installing it).  I have tried force quitting the App Store app and restarted my iPhone.
The first thing I noticed last night was that the App Store showed an update for Hulu Plus on my iPhone but wouldn't let me install it.  On my iPad (3rd-gen) running iOS 7, it let me install it.  This morning, it let me install it.  After, I noticed another badge on my App Store app icon with a "1", and it said there was an update for 94 Seconds, but wouldn't let me install it either.  Then when I expanded the details, I noticed the date on it was from July 30, 2013.  I already had that update installed over 2 months ago.  Screenshots for that issue are below.
Is anhyone else experiencing anything similar?  Any solutions?

    Thanks for the quick response.
I do indeed seem to recall that happening with an app previously.
However, this time it was two apps (Google and Tivo).  I figured they'd get flushed out when more updates (for other apps) hit the App Store. However, when that happened just now, while it did show "update" for those old updates instead of "open", I could not select "update all" up top and had to press update next to each of the (now 4) apps.  The real issue though is that it (of course) can't further update Google and Tivo and gets stuck.  So I can't update any of my apps now.
When I went back into App Store I then got the blank screen that shows nothing under updates but the "Purchased" slider up top.  I thus had to reboot.  I can get back into the App Store, and got an error regarding the Tivo update not being available (this was a Jan 10 or so update that had already been installed), but there it still sits in the updates.  Interestingly, Google did "update" and fall off the badge indicator.  I selected only my true/new updates, so now I'm just stuck with a false Tivo update/badge.
I should add that I am on 7.0.4.
EDIT: Tivo "updated" after the reboot too.  So, bottom line is that you're (I'm) stuck with the false updates until a real update comes through, and then I have to go through that song and dance to clear out the false flags.

  • I am getting two different versions of the App Store in iOS 6.

I am getting two different versions of the App Store in iOS 6.  One is the new one and sometimes when I open it it goes to the old one and says cannot connect to the App Store.

I am having the same problem, but I think I might know what's causing it.  I just updated my girlfriend's iPhone 4S (same phone as mine) to iOS 6 and was surprised to find that her app store is working just fine.  When I opened hers, however, I did notice that the "Categories" and "Top 25" buttons are totally different; and those happen to be the two buttons that are not working for me.  Mine shows the same that yours does, while hers has the "Genius" and "Charts" buttons in the place of the two that are not functioning for me.  I believe these old buttons are no longer active and therefor are bombing out when attempting to access them.
Now I said I think I may understand the problem, but unfortunately I have no idea what the solution may be.  Hopefully this tread doesn't fade away and our problem gets addressed.

  • Why my app store shows the update for other account which i don't know

Why my app store shows a Itsy updates for [email protected]? I've no idea about what it is.

That is her standard answer to this known problem. And it is not a bug!
You have a pirated app that is from the MAS and the app has been cracked with the MAS receipt from an app acquired with this person's MAS account. Get rid of your pirated apps to get rid of the issue.
Whichever was that last app that you downloaded for free from somewhere, rather than paying for it in the MAS, is likely the culprit.
