Update NVIDIA drivers for 9600 GT M?

Hi,
I have a MBP Unibody late 2008 and am trying to update my nvidia drivers in Bootcamp (Win7) but the nvidia site doesn't refer to the cards as 9600 GT, it refers to them as series and I don't know which one is the corresponding one to my card!
Can someone please let me know which to select?
Thanks!
P.S. I have already tried going into the hardware manager and updating the drivers directly there. They appear to update but then games tell me there is an update required from nvidia site.
Cheers!

Here's the link for the Dox release if you are running 32bit windows vista or win 7 http://files.laptopvideo2go.com/Dox/Vista/VistaWin7x86_185.85.exe
Here's the link for the Dox release if your running 64bit windows vista or win 7

Download the file that applies to you and run it in windows and follow the onscreen instructions. When it asks you which configuration you have select hybrid sli, as hardware wise that is what you have despite apple not activating it.
Hope this helps.

  • NVidia Drivers for F10-100

Can anyone tell me if its possible to update the nvidia drivers for the above model beyond that which is currently listed in the toshiba updates section. Those drivers are quite old now, and I tried downloading the MCE specific drivers from nvidia, but just got a stop notice saying the product was not supported.
Can they be updated at all?
I even tried the XP Pro drivers to no avail.

You can have a look at this page:

But if you decide to install one of these drivers, you'll have to do it at your own risks. I have personnaly installed version 77.72 on my Qosmio G20-107 and it's working great ! Here are the benchs i have before/after installing them:

  • CUDA support of nVidia drivers for T61

May be a redundant question, but does the nvidia drivers for T61 available on Lenovo's website contain CUDA support (I know from nVidia's website that nvidia Quadro NVS140M is a CUDA-enabled product)? Just wondering before I go ahead and install the drivers, toolkit and SDK for CUDA on the computer.

The drivers from Microsoft support CUDA and all features of the 570m on Windows 7.  I have not tried installing them on Vista, but it should work there too.
No hack or tweaks required.  Just download, install, and CUDA works right out of the box.  This also boosted my "Experience Index Score" by a few points on Windows 7.
Get them here.  You must use IE to access this site.

Try on Vista and let us know.

I tried your suggestion, and it's been giving me the message "Preparing for Backup" for the past 8 hours.  Does this mean TM is backing up my hard drive?  I'll give it a few more hours, but if nothing else happens, I'm not sure what else to do.  I'm not sure if there are any new external hard drives that are compatible with ML yet.

  • Installing 186.81 Nvidia Drivers for Windows 7 64-bit on Lenovo Laptops 2700M/3700M NVS140M

UPDATE: I removed old 186.03 info and replaced with new driver info. Also I changed the device ID for the 3700m becasue it was not correct. I finally got a w700ds to test it on. Removed pre-edited INF files becsue they are no longer valid.
Here are some instructions on how to get the Nvidia drivers installed instead of waiting for Lenovo to update theirs. I take no responsibility if you break anything. I am a tinkerer and not a expert. It is working fine for me on a w700 with a 2700m.  The NVS140M section may not work I have no means to test it. Let me know if you do it and it works fine. This should also technically work for Vista 64-bit.
    1. Go tohttp://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_winvista_win7_x64_186.81_whql.html and download the drivers.
    2. Run the install package. It will fail to install but it will extract the drivers to C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\186.81\International\Display
    3. Using the below information to edit the appropriate INF files. Just open them with Notepad. There will be 2 instances of each line you need to replace.
    2700M/3700M
    Edit the NVBL.INF file.
    Search for:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.061E.01% = Section009, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_061E&SUBSYS_0539103C
    %NVIDIA_DEV.063A.01% = Section009, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_063A&SUBSYS_30EC103C
    Replace with:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.061E.01% = Section009, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_061E&SUBSYS_212517AA
    %NVIDIA_DEV.063A.01% = Section009, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_063A&SUBSYS_211917AA
    NVS140M
    Edit the NVDM.INF file.
    Search for:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0429.01% = Section002, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0429&SUBSYS_01FE1028
    Replace with:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0429.01% = Section002, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0429&SUBSYS_20D817AA
    5. Save the file and run the Setup.exe in the same directory. It should install fine.

To simplify things for NVS 140M users:
    Download this file
Replace the copy included with installer in the 'Display' folder
    Run setup.exe
This file includes the fix mentioned in the original post, as well as a registry entry for enabling brightness controls, as they didn't work for me with the nVidia drivers.

  • Latest Release 265 Series Nvidia Drivers for Lenovo T61p?

I ran 3DMark06 this evening on my T9300 T61p and got my usual 4460 Benchmark Score .... however, the benchmark's results page today lists a newer Nvidia Quadro FX notebook series driver available for my WinXP 32-bit system directly from Nvidia.
At the Nvidia site it looks like it's Nvidia's Verde Notebook Release 265 Series v266.58 WQHL Certified display driver, released in January 2011, which claims support for notebooks using Quardro FX 570M graphics.
The Nvidia download site is found here:
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
I selected from the Nvidia Menu:
    Quadro , then
Quadro FX Series (notebooks) , then
    Quardro FX 570M , then
Quardro Graphics Driver , (from a choice of 5 different drivers for different scenarios), then
    Windows XP , then
    English , then
    Search
Anyone tried this driver setup yet?
Two (I used to have Five) - T61p 15.4" WS T9300 2.5Ghz units, August 08/08 Builds with FX570M Nvidia Graphics; ... One W520 i7-2860QM w/2000M Nvidia Graphics (most recent acquisition and stupidly fast); .... One - T42 4:3 15" Flexview 1.8GHz with ATI Graphics (still perfect for traveling); ... Two - T500 15.4" units both with ATI HD3650 Graphics.

My advice is proceed with caution. Latest drivers aren't always the best option. I'd also read the release notes and see what was done to them. Driver updates are often issued for non-issues and won't make any difference. Here is an example of a ficticous update reason.
Bugfix: driver cause BSOD crash on dell XPS model XXX to YYY when entering hibernation
Such an update would never be picked up by Lenovo because it won't matter to any lenovo computer, and if you constantly update to the latest drivers, you're not avoiding problems, your making yourself little more then a beta tester running new code that could turn out to be unstable.
My motto is...    if it's not broke, don't fix it!!!

  • Does HP update Nvidia drivers?

Hi, I have an HP Envy 15, and I noticed that apparently the drivers from Nvidia's website will not work, and I have to download them from HP's website? Does HP update the drivers? It seems that the drivers on HP's website are a much older version than the newest on Nvidia's website. Is there a 3rd party that makes them compatible for HP notebooks? Thanks!

Welcome to the HP forum, General.
    Commentary
HP provides extensive testing, retesting, and more testing for drivers and software used in its consumer and commercial computers.  The drivers must work with HP software, hardware, and in a variety of situations.
The revision process is a long one, and the driver versions that are deemed compatible and tested are those that are available for HP notebook computers and other devices.
This is not only true of the NVIDIA drivers, but for other drivers as well.
This is true for all computer manufacturers -- each provides testing for their own systems so a given version of the software will work on that manufacturer's computer.
Because the drivers and software must be tested and proven to work in a BUNCH of (HP) systems and under a bunch of different situations, the versions available to the customer are might be behind (older) than what is available at the hardware manufacturer's website for the same product line.
I do not know if HP outsources this testing -- at one time, at least, I am pretty sure it was all done in-house.
Disclaimer:  I do not work for HP.
    Kind Regards,

  • Windows 7 RTM drivers and native nVidia Drivers for T61p here, supports CUDA

Since this seems scattered, I thought I would post these links to see if they help anyone.
Get your Windows 7 RTM drivers here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html
Get your nVidia 570M Windows 7 drivers, supports CUDA, x32 and x64 here:
    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=nvidia%20quadro%20570M%20Windows%207
I have updated my T61p with all the RTM drivers and have been using this nVidia driver for about 2 weeks. Flawless.
There are many nVidia cards on this Microsoft site, I have only tested the 570M drivers. Feel free to search for your model of driver if you have something else.
My be old news for people, but if it helps anyone, then great.
    -Paul

I wasn't aware that Microsoft had this sort of thing available.  Now that I installed Microsoft's 570m driver, my NVIDIA Control Panel actually works.  I previously did an install by manually selecting the file after downloading and extracting the driver from NVIDIA's website.
On a side note, both the Microsoft site driver and the slightly newer NVIDIA driver give me the same performance index scores (5.8 `graphics` and 6.1 `gaming graphics`) so I would reccomend using the Microsoft one since the Control Panel works with it.

  • Cannot update nvidia drivers after installing bootcamp drivers

    Hi everyone,
I'm sorry to start again a topic that in my view has been treated many times, in many forums but HAS NOT been solved so far...I looked over many forums over the week end and tried a number of "tricks"
I'm running Windows 7 Pro Sp1 32bits on a MacbookPro 17 - intel core duo with two graphic cards but for better performance running the Nvidia GeForce 9600m GT
I have installed Windows 7 this week and then Bootcamp 4.0 - thus i have now Bootcamp drivers, ie 261.41
I have installed Battlefield 3 which asked me to update drivers to at least 285.27
I downloaded them from Nvidia site 285.27 AND 285.38 (m version - notebook) but when i start the indatllation i get the message "hardware not comptatible"
    So far i have tried 1) to install non-beta older versions but higher than 261.41 (which is by the way only available on bootcamp) - it does not work 2) uninstall nvidia drivers, restarting windows with VGA driver and install newest nvidia drivers - it does not work;
What i have not tried (as it was not clear on other forum): 1) replace an INF file? - i did not understand what i have to do here 2) update other drivers? mobility? ATA? - i'm not sure what people were talking about here?
SORRY MY MESSAGE IS LONG BUT I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP - and want to play battlefield 3 that i pre bought by the way... ;-)

    Hi,
I make this post as I found a way to solve my issue and this could be interesting to other people:
    1. Download the latest nvidia drivers (285.38) on nvidia website: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?
    2. Launch the .exe it will unpack the package in one folder: most likely NVIDIA/DisplayDriver/285.38/WinVista_Win7/International
    3. Your installation will be cancelled through "hardware not compatible" - no worries you still have the unpacked stuff.
    4. Go to http://laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/win7x32/285.38/disclaimer and click on "Click here to download the modified INF file." on the bottom - this will download a file called nvwi.inf - copy it
    5. Go to the unpacked folder and go to the folder named Display.Driver - paste the nvwi.inf - it will replace the actual one
    6. On the root folder (International) click on setup and you will be allowed to install the drivers - note that i have accepted during installation two times that it install drivers not "allowed by windows" (different topic)
    Hope this helps.

  • Wrong nvidia drivers for Satellite A100 (PSAA9)

I downloaded nvidia drivers 97.45 but this driver recognizes my GeForce Go 7600 card as NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M. Is there something wrong with the drivers?
At nvco.inf I found that there is only support for the latter card. What is happening?

I wrote here last week but nobody answer me. I have Satellite A100-PSAA9 and driver doesnt work on Windows Vista. It says "This driver compatible with Wista Vista" so I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate also Turkish language. I was thinking maybe problem is Turkish version but I see it is not.
I called Toshiba Turkey customer support but they said "We didnt test yet Vista driver, please bring your laptop here. Maybe we will report this Toshiba Europe and they will release new driver soon". I dont want to bring it anywhere, I want some solution.
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 doesnt work with Windows Vista Ultimate. Nvidia.com on web sites not release yet any GeForce Go Vista Driver. What does it mean?

  • Pavillion dv6 2144 tx Nvidia drivers for xp

I recently purchased a Pavillion dv6 2144 tx which came with Windows 7 Home Premium. I replaced the 500 gb drive with another drive and installed XP Pro (after much slipstreaming of SATA drivers) and have been able to find most of the other drivers apart from a Video driver for the Nvidia GEFORCE 230M graphics.
I have downloaded and installed all sort of drivers from the Nvidia site but thus far have not had any succes in getting them to load. Invariably end with a message saying that I have the wrong OS - even when using the XP drivers....

  • Solaris 10 nvidia drivers for w2100z

Subject says it all really. Does anyone (from within Sun I guess) have an ETA for the Sol 10 nvidia drivers? I think the W2100z is a great machine, but it's a disappointment that we don't yet have proper drivers for its graphics card.

Yes, Solaris 10 provides the Nvidia open source drivers from XFree86/Xorg which work with almost all Nvidia graphics cards. Additionally Sun & Nvidia are working on porting Nvidia's closed source accelerated drivers, and it was recently announced that those should be available in June.

  • Can I update the drivers for my MBP ?

    Hi,
I' m having big troubles connecting to the internet at my work. I can log on to the net and load some pages - but not google and many others. This is really strange.
I'm thinking/hoping that maybe i can update my drivers. Can this be done on a MBP ? Where can I see what driver I'm using ?
    Sincerely
    Christian

Hmmmm....where to begin? First off, 'drivers' are controllers for external devices (or internal ones, technically) but would have nothing to do with internet access +to selected web pages+, and would only affect general internet access if you are using some non-standard way of accessing the network (e.g. an ExpressCard WAN or a USB wireless device).
It smells more like a DNS or proxy server issue. Is there an IT department that can help? You caould also try an alternate browser like FireFox (but any browser should load google!).
    Hope this helps...

  • Updating graphics drivers for m6-1158ca

I've had a crazy hard time finding the solution for a switchable graphics driver issue that's been ongoing since I updated to Windows 8.1 in November. I've had recurrent Display 4101 errors, stating:
"Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
Basically about once to twice a week, I see this error when I wake up my computer from its sleep.
I tried installing the updated HP driver for my notebook's Intel Graphics 4000, updated for Windows 8.1, to be met with the error "This system does not meet the minimum requirements." I consulted with Leshcat's support forums and determined that an Intel driver was necessary, but I just didn't have the right one. I heard that AMD now supports switchable graphics, but I thought that simply meant it does once both drivers are installed.
I have already tried Leshcat's 13.12 drivers, an attempt that ended in failure. The Intel driver installed but the system never used it: it lay dormant in Device Manager while the Microsoft Basic Display Device was in use. I was told by Leshcat community support that installing AMD's driver over top would not work if the Intel driver was not ebabled. Anyway, I was frustrated by that and restored from a system image.
Now Intel's Driver Update Utility gives me this message, unlike before:
"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."
This goes against Leshcat's instructions for finding an appropriate driver.
After months of looking for solutions, I came across this thread just an hour ago in which DavidPK states that the single AMD driver will cover both integrated and discrete graphics. I was pretty surprised, after posting on several forums and probably a hundred articles, that this was the first time I saw this information.
My question is, though, what driver do I actually need to use? If I go to the support page for my system, then the latest AMD driver is the one I currently have and was preinstalled, version 8.982.10.6000. Since there is strong evidence of a compatibility issue with Windows 8.1, I doubt a reinstall of this driver will fix this problem. In the link above, DavidPK suggests this driver from January 2013 that is supposedly compatible with Windows 8.1, despite only being four months newer than mine and nine months shy of the public Windows 8.1 release.
If AMD does support switchable graphics now, would it be so horrible to use their latest 14.4 driver?
Another thing: do I uninstall my current drivers, as Leshcat advises, or do I follow Cloud_Strider's instructions and install a new graphics driver package over top what is already on my system?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Help, please! I've been putting up with these errors for a year now. I've tried everything.
HP, please help a customer out.
