Update of Office Pro 2013 causing reboot
ZCM 11.2.3 monthly update 1. Windows 7 computer with Office 2013 installed. My computer is receiveing the same updates every day for Office Professional version 2013 (about 25 updates) and then asking to reboot. I'm not associated with any updates, policy's or bundles. It is the same updates reinstalling themselves.

Is Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5 Incompatible With Microsoft Office Pro 2013?
I have Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5 and recently upgraded from Microsoft Office Pro 2007 to 2013. I no longer have the option to save e-mails to PDF format. When I go into Outlook> File> Options> Add-Ins> Manage COM Add-Ins and place a check mark next to PDFM Outlook, I get "Load Behavior: Not loaded. A run time error occurred during the loading of the COM add-in." Does this indicate that Acrobat 9.5.5 is not compatible with Office Pro 2013?
Hi there p-eleven,
Support for Office 2013 was first added with the Acrobat 11.0.1 update. Please see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html

Unable to completely install Office Pro 2013 in Windows 8.1
I had Windows 8 on my computer and purchased Office Pro 2013 and tried to install it. It completed part way and then it kept asking me for a password. Then it displayed the Letters and numbers I was to retype and tried that 4 times with no avail. To make
a long story short I never was able to install Office completely. I have none of the programs such as Word, etc. What should I do?Hi
What did you mean by asking for password? Were you saying the product key code?
Multiple versions of Office installed in one computer can cause unexpected problems, we recommend you completely remove your old suites in your machine:

I ignored this for sometime but today I lost my patience and decided to fix this nagging problem. The update prevented me from using the shutdown option as then it would download the updates and then fail over and over again.
None of the steps helped however they set me on a path. I uninstalled all unwanted programs but that was not what fixed the issue. I noticed other than Office 2007 I also had installed Word viewer 2007 , Excel viewer, Powerpoint viewer. I uninstalled these
voila!! Windows update said I don't need these updates on which the install was failing, I checked for updates again and the above updates never appeared in the list of updates found.
I thought I will put this out there just incase someone else runs into similar situation as me. Good Luck. -
I'm running Windows 7 and use Office Professional 2013. With the most recent auto update, now when I attempt to double click a Word or Excel file to open it, Office Small Business 2007 attempts to open and configure. Although I had Office SB 2007 on a previous
laptop, I don't believe it was ever on this laptop. If so, it was before I was provided this as a replacement by Dell for the previous laptop.
If I first open Word or Excel with a blank document or recent file, it opens fine. Then if I double click a Word or Excel file from Windows Explorer while Word/Excel 2013 is still open, the document opens without a problem.
How do I go about correcting the default settings so that when I double click a Word or Excel document it uses my Office Pro 2013 applications to open the file? Thanks for your help!Hi,
Probably Office Small Business 2007 is pre-installed on this computer, and somehow Outlook Professional 2013 lost it's file association.
Please have a check in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and see if you can find Office Small Business 2007 instance in the list.
To correct this, I would suggest you run
Microsoft Fix It tool to remove any previous version of Office from this computer, repair Office 2013 from control panel to re-create the file association, then verify result.
Hope this helps.

I am going to buy either a Mac Air or Mac Pro Retina 8GB RAM and 256GB. And as I have to still run Windows programs I will install Parallels 9. As the Mac are both 64bit machines does that mean I need to install Windows 7 64bit or just install 32 bit? (Going with Win7 as I hate Win8). And I will install Office Pro 2013 64 bit too or 32 bit or is that automatically selected by the underlying OS (I use Word, Excel and Access mainly for a membership database of a local club) ? I am not a power user so would appreciate advice on way to go
Again thank you. If I only use word, excel and access in the Win environment and Mac OS for email and safari for internet do I need anti virus software . Ie my connection to the world is mac only and I use office pro only to ruin the club, newsletters, membership database etc. and of course anything I do there can drag/drop to the mac environ to email. That's my understanding anyway. Next will my existing .pst file copy directly into mac mail or do I have to runs translator as I recall reading something about that ages ago when I started thinking Mac

Office Pro 2013 installing in wrong language
I started downloading Office Pro 2013 and the screens are in French. I did not continue the download, but I cannot figure out how to re-start it in English.
Hi,
How did you download Office Pro 2013?
If you are downloading Office from MY account page, you will have an option to choose
Language and install options to change the language and choose between the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Office:
https://office.microsoft.com/MyAccount.aspx
If you are downloading Office using Office Deployment Tool (ODT), you can specify Language ID="en-us" in the Click-To-Run Configuration.xml file. For example:
<Configuration>
<Add SourcePath="\\server\share" OfficeClientEdition="32">
<Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail" >
<Language ID="en-us" />
</Product>
</Add>
</Configuration>

Office pro 2013 download: setup.exe "module could not be found"
Have downloaded Microsoft Office Professional 2013 4 times. Takes about 7 minutes. Then when I click on setup.exe, the computer (windows 8.1) asks if I want to let Microsoft make changes to my computer (this is normal for a software download). I say yes
and I get a popup that says "the specified module could not be found". You have other threads with this same notation but none seem to be with a software download so I am starting a new thread.
This was downloaded from Microsoft Volume Licensing. There was a note that I would need to download the Microsoft webapps something or other and I tried downloading that as well, but the download name was the same as the other download, and the
outcome and resulting error message also were the same.
Concerned because no where was I asked for any license key or setup key or anything else.
Any advice would be greatl welcomed.
Thank you
EljayfHi,
A similar issue is addressed here, you can follow SpeakPeace’s reply to check if helpful.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-office_install/the-specified-module-could-not-be-found/92971d00-b54a-435d-829c-8b8d651f70c4
When you download Office 2013 from the Volume License Service Center, it comes down as .ISO files.
.ISO is not a file format that Windows can open natively.
There are several possible options you can use to install the software:
Use .ISO image file software to download and save the .ISO image file to a CD-R or a DVD-R.
Virtually mount and access ISO files as a virtual device.
Extract the .ISO files to your hard drive.
For more detail reference:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2011/04/19/how-to-extract-the-contents-from-an-iso-file-without-burning-the-iso-to-disc.aspx
You can run setup.exe as administrator then try the install.

Visio Pro 2013 killing Outlook/Office Pro 2013
I have a new Dell Latitude E6530 laptop that came with Office 2013 Pro - which worked just fine. I recently added Visio 2013 Pro via a PC card download. It would not allow for an automatic activation (which concerned me) but would allow for a telephone
activation. As soon as I did that, Outlook would take forever to launch. When I launch Outlook in Safe mode, it works fine. I have tried disabling all of the add-ins in Outlook - it still not take forever to launch (45 minutes +) but also locks-up
while in-use. It seems to communicate with Exchange fine - no issues with downloading new email messages, but when I select a new folder or after viewing an email it locks up. I have removed and reinstalled Outlook - no joy. The latest step: I have removed
Visio (again) and tried to re-launch Outlook and it still is deathly slow.
All of the other Office products work just fine: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint have no issues. The worst part is Dell blames Microsoft for Visio causing the problem and Microsoft blames Dell for Office/Outlook causing the problem.
Can someone help? THANKS!
Cheers, JayHi,
Do you install the Visio viewer? If you have it, please go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and uninstall it.
If you don't install it, please try to rename the NormalEmail.dotm. It is the default template that opens when creating a new mail message. When you start Outlook in Safe Mode, it is not loaded.
Please go to the following location:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
Find the NormalEmail.dotm file, rename it to ".old". Outlook then will create a new one, check if this issue persist with the new NormalEmail.dotm file.
If the issue still exists, please upload the event log to do further research.

Any update on Mac Pro 2013 ssd upgrade?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on weather an SSD upgrade for the current 2013 Mac Pro will be available soon. I bought a new Mac Pro 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 12GB RAM for my music production for my studio, however I'm now finding the small SSD a limitation to working with software that needs a lot of space available on the hard drive to install. As far as space for files, I use a external hard drive so that doesn't really matter. I've been constantly checking the web ever so often to see if there is any updated news on pcie ssd upgrades for the new mac pro but can't find anything. OWC did make a prototype SSD for this machine and rumours were that in the 4th quarter on this year they would be available for the public, however that doesn't seem to be the case...
I really wish I went for the 500gb version now even if it was a bit more expensive.
If anyone has any information on when aftermarket pcie based ssds for this machine will be available it will be much appreciated.

Microsoft Exchange 2010 / Office Pro 2013 - Contact Issues
Good Morning Everyone.
We are running MS Exchange 2010 and have recently upgraded all our clients to MS Office 2013 Pro from Office 2007.
We've had problems with people being able to access previously accessible share folders etc. but we've managed to resolve them. What we are having problems with are peoples personal contacts....
Within Outlook If we click "New Email", then we click "To", choose address book and select "Contacts" (Personal contacts) we receive the error:
"The Address list cannot be displayed. The contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove this folder from
the outlook address book, see Microsoft Outlook Help"
The unusual thing is, if we go to the people tabs at the bottom (Mail, Calender, People etc") Then we can access the address book without issue?
Any help would be appreciated, this problem is on every single client...
Regards
Steve SkingleHi,
Please make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book in Outlook. We can check this by right-clicking on the personal contact folder, select
Properties, then Outlook Address Book tab.
Check if the “Show this folder as an email Address Book” option is ticked. If not, tick it and restart Outlook to check the result.
Please let me know the result.

Visio 2010 Stardard install error on Windows 8.1 with Office Pro 2013 already installed
Both Visio and Office are 64bit. Visio gives "The language of this installation package is not supported by your system". Tried the LIS "CacheOnly" suggested on a few sites. Causes Installer boot segment fault. Any ideas? Suppose we have
to uninstall Office, install Visio, re-install office? Afraid that will jack up my activations count. Assuming the issue is newer Office is causing the problem.Hi,
For the error message, the issue may be caused by some reasons.
The Visio 2010 installation source was damaged.
The installation source for the language pack did not contain all the necessary files.
Please try the following methods:
1.Change an installation source.(Click
here to re-download)
2.Extract all sv-se files necessary for the language pack installation and installed the language pack successfully.
3.Unzip the installation source and double-click the setup.exe to install.
If we had tried the all above methods, we need to try that uninstall Office, install Visio, re-install office. It’s important to always install earlier versions of Office first.

Have just installed - apparently error-free - Office 2013Pro Plus. Can't open Outlook because it's missing the dataset C:\users\xyz...\documents\outlook-data\OUTLOOK.PST.
There is NO outlook.pst on the entire computer, in other words it seems that the install didn't create any.
An attempted "repair" in System control worked fine, but didn't handle the outlook.pst issue.
Any idea what to do? Many thanks and kind regards
Happy 2014!Was this a fresh installation or a re-install / recovery, as on a fresh install there wouldn't already be a .pst configured until you'd done the initial account setup process and configured a mailbox. If it's a fresh install are you sure it's a legitimate
installation?
When you first start Outlook you should be presented with the account setup wizard, which then configures your first account and creates any required data files for your mailbox.
If that's already been done but isn't working, the simplest thing to try initially is to remove the configured profile(s) from Outlook and then start from fresh. Run "Mail (32-bit)" and on the window that appears click Show Profiles. Remove any and all profiles
listed on that screen, and then click OK. Now open Outlook again and since there's no profiles configured you should be taken to the initial setup wizard where you can configure the mailbox and the relevant files will be created. -
Remote Desktop Service activation of Office Pro Plus 2013
The Activation of Office Pro Plus 2013 is not "sticking" in a 2008 R2 RDP Session. Office Pro Plus 2013 is installed on the RDS Host. Users authorized to access via their Office 365 Pro Plus Subscriptions.
Office Pro+ 2013 is installed and activated with appropriate MAK. Every few days or so a handful of RDS users are requested to activate the Office they are using during their sessions.
Any guidance would be phenomenal!
