Update of  windows sever 2003

which Service pack of windows server 2003 can supported by SBO 2005 ?
Advance thanks

Hi akilam,
Latest information on supported platforms can always be found on
[http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms|http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms]
Some good news you'll find on the bottom of that page:
"Effective immediately, SAP will test only major versions of Microsoft's operating systems, databases and Office software products. Service Packs delivered by Microsoft in the course of a product's lifecycle will no longer be tested separately, but will automatically be officially supported for SAP Business One.
If a customer or partner encounters an issue with any of the Microsoft product Service Packs, SAP will solve this issue on a case-by-case basis as a bug (historically low rate of occurrence)."
So if major version of Windows 2003 is supported, any SP will be as well ...
Kind regards
Mario

  • Can not find windows sever 2003 file sever on a windows 8 pro laptop

I can not find my windows sever 2003 file sever on my windows 8 pro laptop. I have tried over wireless and over ethernet. can some one please help me!

    Hi,
Assuming this Windows 8 Enterprise machine isn't locked down with Group Policy.
This type of problem usually requires that you change the lanman server parameters in order to get Windows 8 working with older servers. Do these adjustments on the Windows 8 machines that needs to connect to the server.
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy
    Local Policies - Security Options
Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Set to Send LM & NTLM responses only
Set the Minimum session security for NTLM SSP
    Disable Require 128-bit encryption
Reboot all machines after making the adjustment.

  • How to install Windows updates for Windows server 2003 SP2 Manualy

    Hi All,
We have 10 machines running Windows server 2003 SP2. These machines are ISA servers kept in DMZ.
So these servers do not have internet access any any means. We are receiving Non compliance for not patching them for specific .NET framework patches. We have installed them but still the Scanning tools says it is not installed.
We have planned to check it through Windows update but as it is in DMZ there is no Internet connection and we also cannot push through WSUS server as well.
Is there any way we can get the update package in Bulk so we can manually patch them rather than manually downloading them 1 by one and installing them ?
    Gautam.75801

    Hi Gautam,
To achieve your goal, I suggest you set up a WSUS server on the disconnected network, then exporting updates and metadata from a
WSUS server on a connected network and importing all that information into the WSUS server on the disconnected network.
For more detailed steps, please refer to this article below:

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2 never finishes searching for updates and use 100% of CPU.

Hi everyone, I am having issues updating a clean Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2, so any help with be appreciated cause I've already tried all my cards for the past 5 days in this particular issue without success.
All I did so far is installing Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 2, open IE to update, it keeps searching for updates and never stop, after 20mn to 30mn the process svchost.exe start using 100% of my CPU.
I already tried the following scenarios:
1-  Install IE8, install the update KB927891 and the Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I already had this one installed). Reboot and run windows update trough IE8 and the problem did not solved.
2- Install those 2 software "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run" and "MicrosoftFixit50777", open IE to update, it still hangs and continues eating my CPU. This is the output of "MicrosoftFixit".
Windows Update error 0x8007000D(2014-01-06-T-06_06_34A) --> Not Fixed
Cryptographic service components are not registered (This service is actually running successfully) --> Not Fixed
3- I found the following script that would register some DLL, deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" and forcing windows update to solve the problem and nothing happened either.
    Link to script:

Thank you in advance for helping.

Herein is the root cause of your issue. A topic that's been discussed in several blogs, forums, and even in the media since September regards a known issue with attempting to patch IE6 RTM via Windows Update.
Aside from that particular issue... browsing the Internet with an unpatched instance of IE6, especially from a Windows Server system, is also asking for a world of hurt.
    Might I suggest the following:
Download the IE8 for Windows Server 2003 installer to a thumb drive.
Download the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Server 2003 to a thumb drive.
Reinstall Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Upgrade to IE8 from the thumb drive installer and apply the
    Cumulative Security Update.
Now your machine is capable of safely browsing to Windows Update to install the rest of the updates (well, maybe, there's also all those other Security Updates from the past seven years that your machine still has vulnerabilites for -- even those seven
years of updates are going to take a Very Long Time to scan for, download, and install).
Why don't you have a WSUS server? -- noting, wryly, that you've posted in the *WSUS* forum.

  • DPM 2012 R2 agent update on Windows 2003 server x64 - Exchange

According to the release notes on http://blogs.technet.com/b/dpm/archive/2014/04/23/now-available-update-rollup-2-for-system-center-2012-r2-data-protection-manager.aspx the following workloads are supported on Win2K3 with DPM2012 R2 UR2:
    SQL 2005
    SQL 2008
    SQL 2008 R2
    SharePoint 2007
Does that mean protecting Exchange 2007 on Win2K3 is no longer an option after upgrading to DPM 2012 R2 (UR2)? It works on DPM 2012 SP1 but I need to know if it will continue to work after upgrading.
(This question follows on from this thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c425421b-b726-4125-82fc-beae8947722c/dpm-2012-r2-agent-update-on-windows-2003-server-x64?forum=dpmsetup which was marked as 'answered')

    Hi,
Yes, Exchange 2007 backup will continue to work. I think that due to the timeframe of the UR2 release not all workloads were able to be re-certified, thus the limit in supported workloads.

From the logfiles you supplied, it appears that SP1 for .NET FW 1.1 is missing.
These security updates will not install if you don't have SP1 for .NET FW 1.1 installed.
Check this KB article on information about how to verify if SP1 for .NET FW 1.1 is installed, how to get SP1 for .NET FW 1.1, etc

  • IPhone 3G - updated to v3.0 - iTunes 8.2  and Windows server 2003 problems!

Argh! I just lost an ability to sync my iphone with my Windows laptop/Outlook running Windows Server 2003.
Everything worked fine until I upgraded iPhone 3G to version 3.0
That forced me to iTunes version 8.2 update.
The AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi which comes with the latest version of iTunes requires Windows XP SP2 or newer and installation fails.
    Is there any workaround available?

    Hello

Currently all versions of F-Secure Internet Security / SAFE will bluescreen with Windows 10 starting from Windows 10 build 10130. Only the beta version of F-Secure SAFE ("fs protection") is compatible.
We know what is causing the problem and are working on maintenance releases. The products will be updated before Windows 10 launches.

  • Printing problems on Windows server 2003

    Hi All,
I was printing perfectly on my shared printer (HP Laserjet 1000) on my Windows server 2003 with a domain.
Since this week I can't print anymore. I keeps failing with failed authentification. Nothing changed on my server or iMac except the latest security patches on the iMac.
The event log shows up user _lp that is trying to access the printer... not the user that I'm using...
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer on the iMac without success.
Anyone has an idea how to fix this ?
    Thanks,
    Pascal

I'm having the same problem now with printers on Windows 2000 systems. The print queue (which worked forever on 10.4 and initially on 10.5) now gets access denied from the SMB server. The "add authentication" thread doesn't fix it as the latest update seems to send user ID "_lp" to the SMB server rather than the user credentials set up in CUPS.
I tried "smb://user:password@server/printer" and it still doesn't work.
Again, it's worked for a long while and just recently broke due to Leopard or an update.

  • /3 Gb switch, Windows Server 2003 and no imagecfg.exe!

The Imagecfg tool is not provided in the support toolkit for Windows Server 2003. How do I then implement the /3 Gb switch for oracle.exe and tnslsnr.exe as has been recommended in Metalink notes 116076.1 and 46001.1?
Also does this not appear a bit confusing:
    Note 1036312.6 states:
On Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition 4.0, Microsoft provides the 4GT (4GB
RAM Tuning) support so an application can utilize up to 3GB virtual memory
instead of the 2GB limit as it used to be.
The Windows NT service pack 3 provides the same feature but is not officially
    claimed in the SP3 readme.txt.
The Oracle 8.0.3 release and higher have already been enabled to take
    advantage of the new feature.
However a more recently updated note (46001.1) states:
    d) Configuring the Oracle process to make allocations greater than 2GB
The Oracle database supports the 4GT tuning feature of Windows NT Server,
Enterprise Edition from release 7.3 onwards, allowing it to access up to 3GB
of virtual address space per instance. It may be the case that certain
releases / patch sets do not have the 4GT flag set even though the release
does support the feature. To check the executable has been correctly enabled
    run :
    imagecfg oracle.exe
oracle.exe contains the following configuration information:
    Subsystem Version of 4.0
Image can handle large (>2GB) addresses
    Stack Reserve Size: 0x100000
    Stack Commit Size: 0x1000
For executables that do not have the flag set, run :
    imagecfg -l oracle.exe
The above settings will only take affect if the boot.ini has been set up as
    described in Note 46053.1.
So, do we really require to run the imagecfg utility (which is no longer provided in 2003 server support tool package) for versions higher than 8.1.7? Which tool should I then use instead of imagecfg for Windows Server 2003?

I think one of the reasons behind those Notes is that in older releases support for the feature existed and despite 7.3.4 or 8.0.3 and onwards had the capabilities, some patch sets or patches "forgot" this. The first Note you references says
"There may be a case where you are running 8.0.4.3.7 on NT and the 3gig address issue required the use of imagecfg to access the larger address space. One major reason might be the fact that patch sets may have brought in an executeable without the flag being set."
Sometimes it can be really hard to get notes on metalink to add upp, maybe mostly because there is so much info to maintain and cope with...
I dont think you should worry much about it. In any case, the developer/vendor who controls the code need to make sure the program is in reality large address aware and set flags accordingly.
If you want to check, to report something back to Oracle Support, there is dumpbin.exe to verify image header available in Visual Studio. Dont know of a public alternative.

  • Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Assessment and Planning tool (MAP)

Preparing for the end of support for Windows Server 2003 (4/2015) and the need to migrate from Windows Server 2003, I have been directed on several sites run the Microsoft Assessment
and Planning tool (MAP) to aid in identifying any software and hardware issues.   Apparently this tool has been recently updated (7/2014) and cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 system.  As it requires .NET Framework 4.5 to run.  Unfortunately,
.NET Framework 4.5 cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 as it only supports .NET 4.0.x versions.  All older version links to the MAP tool have been updated to link directly to version 9.1.  Where can I get a MAP tool version that will run
    on Windows Server 2003?

    Hi,
Yes, i would agree with arnavsharma
After the environment scan has been completed in Windows Server 2008r2 or another supported OS, MAP looks at computers running earlier versions of Windows.

Meanwhile, for the MAP related issue, you'd better ask in MAP forums:
