Update on MMS/New issue
I posted the other day about not being able to do MMS on my blackberry. Well, after calling AT&T they told me I would have to pay them $30 extra a month for a data plan even though I didn’t want the email or internet…just MMS texting like on my old phone which is covered under my Unlimited texting!!!! I was rather angry and am not willing to pay that. After 5 hours of upgrading and messing with my phone I now have MMS texting. I do not get charged extra for them as it registers under the texting plan and if I want to I can use the MediaNet as pay per use. So if any of you had this issue with AT&T tryin to charge I am here to tell you that a simple upgrade can take care of it. Granted my phone was rather sluggish at first, once you get goin and use it a bit things speed up. Now on to my issue. Once I got the MMS capabilities on there I started going nuts sending out pictures. I have a lot of friends who rely on their phone as the source of getting pics since they either do not have a computer or they are not computer smart ha ha. Most of the pics went through great and I even received some from people no problem. Now though it suddenly sits in the outbox with a lil clock icon next to it and never goes. Any thoughts on why this is? One sat in there for over 12 hours and didn’t go so I just deleted it.
Try pulling the battery out to reboot.
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Itunes 10.6.3 - Just update to the new Itunes and the album artwork is not sticking anymore... I upload the artwork and when I change songs and go back the art is gone. Anyone with similar issue ?
I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.

Issue with Anonymous Authentication and updating or starting new projects
So 2 weeks ago I had a post about Anonymous Authentication found here:

That issue has been resolved but has created a new issue. We have Anonymous Authentication disabled but when one of our users tries to make a new project she gets the following:
Unexpected response from server. The status code of response is '0'. The status text of response is ''.
When she tries to edit an existing project, she gets the following:
The server was unable to save the form at this time. Please try again.
If I re-enable the Anonymous Auth. everything works for her again, but then we face the issue from the original post with reports not publishing.

When using the camera downloader in Adobe Bridge CS6 with Nikon D5200 we are unable to see previews of the photos and it is very slow to download. The issue occurs under a the users rights, but not under admin level. This is a new issue.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.

4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

Why can't I update or load new apps on my iPhone and iPad. It does not ask me for my password. I tried to sync from my laptop now I am unable to connect to any sites from internet explorer. When I try to update or load any app it tells me it is corrupt
You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

When there is an update to a newer version of a browser like this update to Safari 5.1.4, is there an article that goes over the best way to update to a newer version of a browser that one knows of? Is it best to close all apps, install the update, turn the computer off, turn it on and hold down the shift key until the gear and progress bar are showing, when this is finished, do a restart of the computer. I hav always wondered the best way (if there is a best way) to update to a newer version of a browser so you avoid potential problems. Is there a Support Article that goes over installing and updating to a newer version of one's browser, in this case Safari?

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Later versions of OS X.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

The wife tried to do an update on her new IPhone 5c now it is frozen at an ITunes screen, the screen has a pic of a cable and phone connector pointing to an ITunes symbol with the word ITunes under it. when it tries to do a restore the computer comes up with an error 21.

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. Error 1015 might happen after making unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking." -
IPhone update on my new mac without losing my apps and media
So, I have an iPhone 3gs with software version 4.1 and an old 15" PowerBook G4 running OSX 10.4 Tiger. Ages ago iTunes kept telling me "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version" when I pressed to update my iphone on itunes. I soon found out it was because my iTunes was actually not up to date because I couldn't get the latest iTunes on Tiger. So I couldn't get the latest iOS on my iPhone until I had the latest iTunes, and I couldn't get the latest iTunes until I had a later OSX on my Mac. I didn't want to update to the latest OSX on my PowerBook because it seemed pointless, I was saving for a new computer...
My first gripe is that I couldn't update my iPhone to the latest iOS just because I was running an old OSX on my Mac; my friends with their grubby old PCs have got iOS 5 on their iPhones, I'm a longtime apple computer customer and I don't, how is that fair?
Fast forward to today, my new computer arrived. A shiny great big Mac Pro (I'm a sound engineer/music producer, I know it's still not really necessary, but I wanted it). Once again I've piled thousands of pounds into the Apple corporation. ITunes on the new machine is setup to my iTunes account, I find out I'm gonna have to transfer all my songs manually, there's no way of just getting your libraries to sync? Anyway to my main point... I plug my iPhone into the new Mac Pro and press update on iTunes and I get "Updating to iOS 5.0.1 will delete all of the apps and media, including iTunes Store purchases, on your iPhone. To preserve your content, apply this update on the computer where you sync apps, music, videos, and photos. Updating on this computer will only preserve contacts, calendars, text messages, and other settings". So... you want me to update my iPhone on the computer that can't update my iPhone...
I'm really trying hard not to swear...
Please somebody tell me there's a way I can update AND preserve all my content.
Maybe I can update on the new computer, lose the stuff, then go back and sync with the old computer??? All my media is backed up on there, including apps, surely this should work... But, would the old computer even let me touch the iPhone again after the update? I'm concerned, having experienced Apple's lack of backward compatibility (something I used to think they were quite good at), that it won't (touch wood the powerbook doesn't die before then).

My Macs:
1.67 GHz PowerPC G4, 1.5 GB Ram with OS X 10.4.11
2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 6 GB Ram with OS X 10.7.2First off...should have built your own Mac or have gotten a better Mac (the Mac Pro is outdated for the most part), but that is for a separate discussion and if you're happy, then that's what matters.
Second, you should be able to restore your media via Time Machine. Be careful with this next part.
Note that you do not HAVE to install iOS 5, unless you want iCloud and the new interfaces that come along with it (certain apps may also require iOS 5). iOS 5 is completely optional (except Apple will nag you to update). Just don't update the phone, you'll be able to sync as normal. You might lose your app data if you don't have iOS 4.3, but hopefully that isn't an issue. Since you have iTunes 9.2 on your Powerbook, you should be able to sync between both devices. -

To everyone that is having this problem:
I just ended a 2 hour session with Apple Tech Support. We had to take it to a level 2 support person, but finally got it running. Here's what she had me do. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall ALL Apple products on the Computer. This inccluded Apple Mobile Device Itunes, Bonjour and Quicktime. I doubt if we would have had to but she had me download a fresh copy of iTunessetup.exe and run it. iTunes came up and ran on version 11.1.4. Then I reinstalled Quicktime.
It is my personal opinion that there is a flaw in version 11.1.4. You shouldn't have to go through all of these hoops just to update a single application that was working fine proir to the update attempt.
That's what worked for me. Hope this helps you. Any questions, get back to me.

OS X 10.8.3 - Should I keep my heads up in regards to any new issues?

Since OS X 10.8.3 has been released to the general public, I am wondering if there's any new issue that this update may be bringing to the table when compared to OS X 10.8.2 (build 12C60)? Honestly, my 10.8.2 installation has not been problematic in my system. What worries me about this new update is that Apple apparently changed some graphics drivers for Nvidia cards along other major changes.
On my end, I am trying to mitigate any issues by installing the Combo update instead of the Mac App Store Software Update version and Delta updater.

Thanks Again!As I can see, OS X 10.8.3 updates near all OS X applications and drivers, including the graphic card ones, but always for better.
I installed OS X 10.8.3 from the Mac App Store (249 MB, much smaller than other OS X updates), and at the moment, I haven't noticed any problem. Furthermore, I feel my Mac faster, and the big difference is with Safari. Before upgrading, Safari was terrible, and now, it works properly without any problem. Now, with OS X 10.8.3, it looks like there are some problems with the Boot Camp drivers download, that could be related to the fact that some Macs aren't compatible with Windows 8, so they can only download the Boot Camp drivers for Windows 7.
You should make a Time Machine backup of your system and update to 10.8.3 from the Mac App Store. That's the best way to install an update, always making a backup before updating, to prevent problems -
Itunes won't update nano with new software version
Since the new software update has become available (which I'm hoping might fix my multiples in cover flow issue) I've tried on multiple occasions over a few days to download and install the update on my new nano 4th Gen.
It goes through the licence agreement bit and says it's downloading and will instal when it's done. However after a few minutes it gives an error message that the connection with the itunes server has timed out. It says check your connections and such but all is fine, even itunes own diagnostic connection test is all fine.
I've even tried the restore option but that just dies on it's attempt to get new software too and doesn't get anywhere.
I'm pretty good with computers but this one's now got me stumped.
Anyone got any ideas?Are you using a dial-up or broadband internet connection? If your using a dial-up connection, that might be your problem. If your using a broadband connectin and your getting this problem, you might just want to contact technical support.
