Update on Vista Support?

Hello all,
Is there any update on a timeline (even a statement saying, "go away, not for a while yet") on the SOA Suite certification on Vista? I'm using VMWare for my development now, and would like to install it on the base OS - not for production, just development.

Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
2. If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using theMicrosoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Hi
Does anyone know if there will be an update to Robohelp that
will allow us to generate Microsoft Vista-style help centres?
My company are moving towards developing Vista-style GUIs and
the Help is going to look too different. (I wanted a word that was
the opposite of integrated, but I don't think 'disintegrated' is
what I mean!)

The question I was asking was more along the lines of: Will
the interface of help files be different to match a vista gui, as
Colum said.
If you look at the help for Office 2007, the style of it is
different mainly in that it no longer seems to use frames (although
I personally like the WebHelp frames). I assume from what Rick said
then that whatever Microsoft used to produce this help they aren't
yet releasing so we can all do it...
I will wait with anticipation for the all new Robohelp
then... I will certainly have a go at creating a skin to match the
Vista colour scheme in the meantime - if anyone else develops a
good Vista-like skin, please share!

Does 1.5 update 11 is supported on Windows Vista?
I went through release notes and found there are few bug fixes related to Vista!!
But the system configuration i not updated for Vista support.

But there so such official announcment/document/link that says 1.5 update 11 works well with Vista. Atleast i have not came across.

Creative's Vista support is so bad - My horrible experience

All,?Have used Creative products for years, but how they are handling Vista is bordering on criminal. I do not understand how they basically tell good customers to take a hike with such terribly bad Vista support. Here is my story:?Using my SB Li've card in XP. Works GREAT!? Fantastic card, no problems. Not that old of a card either. Seems Creative will not be making Vista drivers for it. WHY??So go and buy a Audigy SE card. Plug in, can not get to work. Find there is no Vista driver.
Go out and buy a X-Fi Extreme Audio card, as I saw there was a Vista driver for it. Get home, find out that is not true, only for 32bit, not 64bit.
Wait, find this section. Find the Audigy SE has a beta Vista driver, whoops only 32bit again.
Vista (released version) has been out for several months (I have had my Microsoft Developers Network Release Canidate running now for well over a month). And beta's have been out forever.
There is NO excuse for a company as big as Creative not to have drivers working and ready for all current cards, and fairly recent cards (like SB Li've) by at least the public release date. None at all.
Funny thing, plugged in the built in sound module on my DFI nF4 SLI-DR motherboard (I kept it unplugged while I used the SB Li've card). Booted Vista, and drivers loaded without my doing a thing!? Works fine...

I'm on the side of Creative Labs here, and I'll say what they're probably thinking as they desperately work to get things up to speed for us. For starters, I assumed that if you chose to be one of the first to purchase Windows Vista (like myself), you were prepared to undergo a rocky compatibility period with some of your hardware, and were willing to wait it out. After numerous new versions of Windows....well hell, I figured?we all have come to expect this kind of thing at first launch. I guess I was wrong.
Secondly, I assumed that if you chose to be one of the first to purchase Windows Vista, but you were NOT prepared to undergo a rocky compatibility period with some of your hardware, than you would have perused this website's news, forums, drivers page, etc. for a little while?after the Vista release date to verify that everything?is?going to work?the way you "need" it to before you even put that Vista installation DVD in your dri've. And third....you consumers aren't working in the Creative Labs office. You've never attended their meetings. You've never been in on exactly how much work goes into keeping communication going with Microsoft, and you?dam sure don't know exactly what has to go into making these sound cards work with the types of Directsound changes that Microsoft has made. Don't sit there remotely from your apartment and tell a Creative Labs employee what they've been doing with THEIR time since they got the final info from Microsoft they needed to get to work on the new drivers. You say "fix it!" They say "we're working on it." What the hell else do you want?Fourth....don't forget that there are plenty of Creative Labs employees who have home computers with creative labs hardware in them, and those employees want their stuff working just as much as you. So here's your solution if this compatibility issue is really slowing down your life. Uninstall Vista. Put your XP back on. Enjoy your fully functional sound just the way you had it and meanwhile, keep checking back here periodically for updates on their progress. CL and CL mods.... I trust you. You've been around for years and you've offered up excellent hardware and software for as many OS's as I can remember. I'm not an expert in your field, so I'm not going to sit here, like some, and conjure up some self-gratifying scenario in my head of you guys doing piss poor work when I don't know jack about what it takes to get up to speed, especially if Microsoft has had you switching gears up until November. Your track record speaks for itself. You've always provided the best in sound. Guys, give CL a break. They've earned their stripes. In the meantime, go back to XP or thank them for the beta drivers and the EAX workaround. They did it for YOU. P.S. But Creative...just one thing. For now on, could you try to make your list of drivers and software updates for each card a little less confusing on the drivers pages? Microsoft Updates to VISTA ULTIMATE clobbered audio

Why is my audio getting clobbered when I install MS Vista updates?
The first time this happened was when auto update installed .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 back on 2/26/09. I deinstalled this update and the audio worked again. Now on 4/15/09 I installed selected updates (1 Defender update, 6 Vista Security updates, 1 Windows Mail Junk email Filter, and 1 Security update for 2007 MS Office, and1 Security update for 2007 MS Office Excel). Don't know which update clobbered my audio.
I'm getting tired of this! Is there something I can do to restore my audio and stop this from happining in the future?

Tecra S3: BIOS update for Vista

I have a Tecra S3 notebook and I tried to install vista but it says i need to update my BIOS. Well I already have the latest version (v1.3) and no vista support.

There is no much to say. If your unit has sticker Vista capable Toshiba will support it for Vista upgrade. When not I dont believe you will find Vista BIOS update in the future.
My Satellite M70 is also not Vista capable but I am really lucky and have preinstalled Vista on second partition.

I really think this sucks pretty much. - This is bad customer service. Of course softwareissues will show up once in a while, this is fragile technology and we have to accept that, but when something like this happens, I expect Nokia to come with some sort of statement Asap.

Yes, my N95 8 gb device "died" while updating the firmware a little while ago, and guess what? - there where no warnings from nokia anywhere even though i red in different forums outside nokia that this issue had been known for a while. And that they had called nokia servicedesk and sent mails...
pfff... this is just great.

Just wondering how I update the bios for my P6N SLI Platinum in Vista x64? When I d/l the bios all the stuff is for 2000/me/xp. Why is there no vista support under anything?

I have an iLife 11 disc that doesn't work very well so I tried creating a disk image of it with Disk Utility. It took two tries but finally got a disk image that I could use to install the iLife 11 applications. Give it a try.

First of all, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues that may prevent reinstallation on machines running a 64bit OS.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page.

Is Raw update 2.4 supported on Aperture 1.5.6?
I have Raw update 2.4 installed, but get "unsupported format" message when I try to import raw files from Canon 5D Mk-II. Import works fine on raw files from Canon 20D.

I actually published an interactive Arabic textbook with iBooks Author - there were a lot of annoying formatting bugs, and more of it was in english than Arabic, as it was for beginners. I submitted it to see how much interest there was for doing more in Arabic, but I haven't had much demand so far.

Status update on TrayIcon support on Linux

I am hoping that somebody can give me a brief summary of the plans and expectations for improved support -- if any -- for the TrayIcon support in Linux. Specifically, support for the Gnome 3.6+, Unity and KDE environments.
I'm very cognizant of the difficulties that this support presents. I've had a number of discussions on the Gnome lists on this topic as the latest changes to Gnome in release 3.6 have completely broken the TrayIcon support in OpenJDK and the Oracle JDK. Not to surprising as they completely rewrote the notification manager support in the Gnome shell. I've spent some time trolling around on the bug lists and see that there is some work scheduled for release 8 but it is unclear to me how that work is prioritized or what the approach is going to be to support the multitude of Linux window managers. That is, the existing bug reports and supporting comments do not include any detail on planning or approach.
For my part, I would be quite willing to pick up some of the work to get this going properly. We have a number of "Systray" Java applications that are quite dependent on the functionality, so I'm reasonably motivated to help sort this out. I'm new to JVM development of course, but don't think it is all that challenging from a technical point of view to update the existing support. The biggest challenge is getting the other parties to stabilize their interfaces so there some hope of continuing support through future versions of the JVM and the window managers.

The ILM Assistant is current out in early adopter release and we hope to have it released before Oracle OpenWorld which is late October. I plan to announce here when it is available.
There is already extensive functionality in the Oracle Database which can be used for ILM and we plan to continue adding features which will be useful for building ILM systems.

Detection/Monitoring of major/minor FlashPlayer version updates across all supported platforms

Is there any API we can use to call against or is there
another way of polling to monitor when new updates are released for
any/all platforms that FlashPlayer is published and maintained for?
I run a very large multinational consumer facing website with a ton
of Flash/Flex applications deployed on it and desperately need a
way of automating the process of making sure all of our apps work
between version updates to the player.
I see that in the client configuration settings for the
player, there is a way to configure the client to check for server
updates for itself periodically, the shortest interval being 7
days. Is the API it calls exposed in any public way that I could
use the same mechanism but also poll for updates for all supported
FlashPlayer versions? I tried to detect what it was using as an
endpoint on the Adobe.com with no success. Ideally I'd love to have
a daemon (I write myself obviously) on my end check the version
numbers periodically and send me messages when any of them change
so that way I can initiate the QA and any resulting development
updates to ensure that everything stay working nicely.

Thanks. Being able to do this would solve a ton of problems
for us as we get killed by version updates occasionally and I'd
rather be able to handle this as proactively as possible as opposed
to purely reactively. I was headed down the path of writing a cron
job to run some CURL code to just sniff at

until I realized that I was going to introduce two points of future
failure by hand-parsing the generated HTML to extract the version
string as well as having to seed the request header since the page
is dynamically generated based on the client browser. An external
API or at least a supported method of getting the same information
that I could rely on would help a TON.
