For 10.2.0.3 upgrade patch number is Patchset 5337014 .
However 10.2.0.4 Patchset 6810189 is available on metalink... May be you can try to upgrade to 10.2.0.4.
Regarding 10.2.0.3 patchset for 32bit solaris, please raise SR with OSS

  • Problem with updating oracle DB with java date thru resultset.updateDate()

    URGENT Please
    I am facing problem in updating oracle database with java date through resultset.updateDate() method. Can anybody help me please
    following code is saving wrong date value (dec 4, 2006 instead of java date jul 4, 2007) in database:
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT myDate FROM myTable");
    rs.first();
    SimpleDateFormat sqlFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-mm-dd");
    java.util.Date myDate = new Date();
    rs.updateDate("myDate", java.sql.Date.valueOf(sqlFormat.format(myDate)));
    rs.updateRow();

    I believe you should use yyyy-MM-dd instead of yyyy-mm-dd. I think MM stands for month while mm stands for minute as per
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html
    (If this works, after spending so much of your time trying to solve it, don't hit yourself in the head too hard. I find running out of the room laughing hysterically feels better).
    Here is a more standard(?) way of updating:
    String sqlStatement=
    "update myTable set myDate=? where personID=?"
    PreparedStatement p1= connection.prepareStatement(sqlStatement);
    p1.setDate(1,new java.sqlDate());
    p1.setInt(2, personID);
    p1.executeUpdate();

  • Update Oracle with timestamp

    How do I go about updating oracle DB table with timestamp from XI using JDBC receiver?

    Hi SSG,
    1) Generate a string in message mapping for the datetimestamp. You could also do this in the SQL statement by using the oracle SYSDATE function.
    2) In the JDBC receiver channel SQL statement you have 2 choices:
    - If the string is in the default datetimestamp format for your oracle DB, then you can insert it directly.
    - Use the to_date function to convert the string to an Oracle date. I'd recommend this approach. Here's some documentation for this function:
    http://www.techonthenet.com/oracle/functions/to_date.php

  • Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit fails when invoked from InstallShield

    I'm trying to install the Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit on Windows 2008 SP1 from the InstallShield 2010.
    The installation is silent. Invoked by command line:
    J:\Oracle_11.2.0_x64\OracleServer_11.2.0.1_x64\setup.exe ORACLE_HOME_NAME="ARAXI_11" -silent -nowelcome -force -nowait -noconsole -loglevel fine -noconfig -ignoreSysPrereqs use_prereq_checker=false -responseFile C:\Oracle\11.2.0\installation\scripts\SVRCUSTOM11.2.0.rsp
    The problem is that when the command is invoked from command line (cmd), the installation is successful.
    However, when the same command is invoked from under the InstallShield, the installation fails on Architecture requirement check:

    The questions:
    1. Why the requirement checks give different results when installation is invoked from CMD and from InstallShield?
    2. Why the requirement checks are done despite the parameters "-ignoreSysPrereqs" and "use_prereq_checker=false"?
    3. What should I do to get the installation pass (either remove the check or make it satisfying)?
    PS. The 32 bit Oracle Server installation on Windows 2003 works without problem when invoked from InstallShield.

    Please use 2008R2 if you want to install 11gR2 versionThank you for that update. Possibly it will help me to solve another trouble.
    Regarding the problem I described, the issue is that I install Oracle Client 32 bit prior to trying to install Oracle Servier 64 bit.
    The Oracle Client setup had started RemoteExecService.exe 32 bit process. And the process remained running after the installation completed.
    The Oracle Server setup utilizes the running RemoteExecService.exe process. Since the process is 32 bit, the architecture requirement check had failed.
    I've added to my script killing the process
    taskkill /F /IM RemoteExecService.exe
    before invoking the Oracle Server installation.
    That way the Oracle Server setup starts another RemoteExecService.exe process and the new process is 64 bit.
    The architecture requirement succeed.

  • Parameters maintenance for Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Solaris 10 zone

    Hi!
    We use SAP Solution Manager 7.0 on Solaris 10 Zone with Oracle.
    We have updated Oracle from 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4.
    What are the parameter recommendation for Oracle 10.2.4?
    What is the approach to do this?

    Thom

    > Does the SAP installation usually include the setup of oracle parameters?
    partly.
    > Is there some automatic report that check and set up the valeus to the rigtht values, e.g. according to SAP note 830576?
    No. Many of those parameters (the events mainly) depend on specific patches that need to be installed to activate them. Did you apply all the interim patches for 10.2.0.4 or just that patch?
    > What are the crucial/important parameters?
    all of them are more or less important. Oracle is a complex beast.
    > If not, what are the technical steps to do this manually?
    You can use brtools to change them one by one - or write a script like the following. However, this implies that all single/interim/cumulative patches are installed, not only 10.2.0.4.
    Check note 1137346 - Oracle Database 10g: Patches for Release 10.2.0.4 for the single patches and read all the linked notes to the patches so you can built your own script to set the parameters.
    This is an example script for HP-UX but you could use a likewise one for Solaris:
    alter system set
    event='10027 trace name context forever, level 1',
          '10028 trace name context forever, level 1',
          '10183 trace name context forever, level 1',

  • Configuration assistant error with Oracle 10g 10.2.02 with Solaris 10 6/06

    Hi all,
    As anyone seen this a fix for this error?
    I have installed Solaris 10 6/06 x86 on VMWare 5.2 which works fine.
    When I attempt to install Oracle 10g 10.2.02 for Solaris x86 (released in Sept 06), the install goes fine until I get to the configuration assistant stage.
    The first Net based configuration assistant fails with a Java exception which seems to be related to a Sig 11 in the libc library.
    This looks like an error fixed by a patch mentioned in the release notes but the patch does not seem to be available for this version of Solaris.
    Any comments would be greatly appreciated...

  • Oracle 11g R2 Instance Caging on Linux 64-bit? Good, Bad, Ugly.

    Hello everyone
    I hope this is the correct forum, if not please advise best place to post this question.
    I am thinking of using Oracle 11g R2 Enterprise Edition running on 64-bit Linux server (Oracle Linux 6.x or Red Hat Linux 6.x) with Resource Manager Instance Caging feature enabled to consolidate about 20 databases on one larger Intel-X64 server (40 cores, 512RB RAM, SAN). RAC is not needed but RAC One Node may be one other possible option as will also be Data Guard 11g R2 for HA/DR.
    I am looking for opinions from those who have used and implemented Instance Caging feature in production on 11g R1 or 11g R2 on Linux/UNIX 64-bit OS - please share your experiences - good, bad, ugly ?
    Any recent whitepapers and studies on 11g R2? I have seen some information dating back to 11g R1 (~2009), hoping there are some 11g R2 updates on this topic for 2010-2012.
    Please provide pointers if you know of any.
    Has anyone implemented Instance Caging on RAC One Node (or full RAC)? Opinions?
    thanks.

    It is because of UNIX shell. I also faced this error during installation.
    First check your shell by the following command.
    $ echo $SHELL
    Then select the below.
    For csh shell
    $ setenv DISPLAY 192.168.1.128:0.0
    $ export DISPLAY
    For sh,ksh and bash
    $ DISPLAY=192.168.1.128:0.0
    $ export DISPLAY
    After you do this check the value of DISPLAY variable.
    $ echo $DISPLAY
    If the DISPLAY variable is set then run ./runInstaller.
    One advice: Keep a complete log of your terminal session. This will help you in future :)

    Should ai just install the db using scripts and run the neccessary .sql scripts instead of going through dbca?

    This appears to be because of low semaphores setting. Did you reboot your server after making the /etc/system parameter changes ?
