Update photos in iWeb

I was wondering if changes made in iPhoto to iPhoto albums which were included in an iWeb project (added on an Albums page by dragging the album name from the Media inspector to the web canvas) would be automatically reflected the next time iWeb was launched (i.e. are they linked somehow so that the most recent version in iPhoto is reflected in iWeb). Over the course of time I am sure albums could have photos added or deleted and I'd like to have iWeb reflect the current iPhoto album content.
What is the best way to do that? Thanks for any input.

You can easily determine if iWeb updates the photoalbum page in iWeb.
1) Add a image to an album in iPhoto. Or change the order of the images.
2) Start iWeb and see if the changes are made.
Answer: iWeb does not update the page.
The reverse question could be: Can you prevent iWeb updating the photoalbum page when you add images to an album in iPhoto?
Answer: No need for prevention. iWeb does not update the page.
Besides that, a photoalbum in iWeb can be a random collection of images from all sources such as the desktop. Or even images dragged from a browserwindow.

  • IWeb not updating photos

When I update photos on iWeb (I have a Photos page with 9 albums), sometimes the published website "ignores" the updates.  Although I save and update a new photo, it just doesn't appear on the website.  This doesn't happen every time, or with every album.  And sometimes even if I rearrange the albums, to try to give iWeb an extra "push", it doesn't see that change either.  Forced updating of the entire website doesn't fix the problem.  Any ideas?  Updates work fine on other pages, and on some photo albums.  I'm running iWeb 3.0.4 on Lion, and the website is not hosted on mobileme.  The url is http://www.hsvbrushstrokes.com/HSVBS/Home.html

First you need to make sure you are emptying the browser cache before visiting the published site.
To make sure that iWeb is actually adding the images, publish you site to a local folder...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWebMusicWebsite/MusicWebsiteBuilding.html
... and launch it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file. Are the photos present in this version of your site?

  • Cannot see Aperture 3 photos in iWeb

I have a huge problem... I am a photographer and am constantly updating my website, however, I cannot see my Aperture 3 photos in iWeb (the folders that I have created over the past few months don't show up at all). I have had to transfer photos from Aperture 3 to my iPhoto library in order to use them in iWeb, which is such a waste of time (and space). Can someone please assist???

If you have not found any problems using DiskUtility, I would suggest that you might try deleting your Aperture preferences file (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2945) then re-open Aperture and set your preferences up again. That may resolve the iWeb issue as well as your Export difficulties.
    Let us know what happens.
    Cheers!

  • Photos and iweb

    Hello
I use iweb for my website and with the migration from Iphoto to Photos, i can't acces anymore to my pictures in Photos in Iweb !!! Do you have a good idea to integrate Photos in Iweb.
    Thanks for your help
    Best regards
    Denis

    Not so.
iWeb has actually been around since the first edition came out in 2006 and it started with iWeb 06, then iWeb 08 and finally iWeb 09.
It was primarily designed to go with dot Mac and then MobileMe, which were accounts that enabled you to publish websites.  Unfortunately, after this things seemed to be cloud based, which is why Apple developed iCloud, but they decided not to offer web hosting, hence why both dot Mac and MobileMe disappeared and there was then no need for iWeb because iCloud does not offer web hosting and there are lots of companies out there that do offer this and as Apple are primarily a company that sells products - computers and phones etc., they decided to leave the software to other than know better, which is why it became unsupported and they do not sell it any longer and why iWeb has not been updated for the last six years.
It is time to move onto other products which are better and up-to-date.  There are lots out there and Rage Software has developed EverWeb.  Take a look.  It is very like iWeb in look and feel and you can do lots more things from inside the application, that you could not do in iWeb.
As far as Flip For Mac goes, you may just have to wait a while whilst Flip catches up with the new OS and it will become compatible eventually.  Things just need time to catch up.
You have come to Macs late, so it is time to move on from iWeb and use other software that is supported and will work.  There is plenty of it out there and you just have to look around and take a look at EverWeb - I have provided a link for you.

  • How can you Copyright your photos in iWeb

Does anyone know how to copyright your photos in iWeb so that others can download your images and claim them as their own?? thanks

Press: Option+"G" and you will have this "©" after it put your name as:
    ©Fito Pardo 2007
In photoshop or a program like this put your copyright notice on top of your photos like I did it:
    http://www.cinematograf.com/Links/Clientes/Pages/Belinda.html
If you like no one to download your pictures I recomend to you to put your images like here:
    http://www.cinematograf.com/Media/StillPortfolio/StillPortfolio.html
So is more dificult for others to use them as their own as this pictures are in way less resolution than prints and is very difficult to use video images on a catalog, it look like crap.
    And there is another way
Put your images like I did in video, then place a box layer on top of the video and make that box transparent:
Under the "Inspector" window, go to "Graphic", then go to "Opacity" and make the square "0%", make shure is on top of your whole video so no one can download your video.
This is actually the best way, but then again if you don't put a copyright notice like the "Belinda" pictures I did (she is a Latin Pop Star, That is why I put that copyright notice on top of every shot, there is a lot of fans who like to have some of those pictures) you will still have to worry about:
    "Shift" + "Command" (Or Apple) + "4"
That one is the command to copy what ever you want on the screen
I hope this works for you

  • How do I Add Music to the Slideshow in photos in Iweb

How do I add a song from my itunes library to play while viewing the slideshow portion of my photos in Iweb'09? I have tried this numerous times throughout the day today but am getting nowhere.
Also, can I add a video portion of the Letterman Top Ten list to a page in my Iweb?
    Thanks

That's not an option with iWeb. You can add a song to the photos page that will play automatically (and loop if desired) that would continue to play when the viewer clicks on the slideshow button. This demo page has such a setup.
I don't remember if Cyclosaurus (our resident javascript expert) had posted a solution via javascript and an HTML snippet. You might search the entire iWeb forums for posts by Cyclosaurus with a topic of slideshow music or something similar.

  • How do I reinstall iWeb 3.0.3?  I inadvertently opened an html file of my website and tried to open it with iWeb '09. I get a message saying "Can't open file" etc., etc. I've tried reinstalling the updated version. Iweb will not open.

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iWeb and see if it opens.
What happened was trying to open the html file reset the file path that iWeb saves in its preference file to tell it where to go when you launch iWeb.  Deleting the pref file and launching iWeb creates a new file and iWeb looks in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for the Domain.sites2 file it uses to create your site.

  • I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

What were you running before you updated? 10.10.2, or an earlier version of OS X (10.9 or earlier)?
If 10.10.2, then iPhoto should still be on your machine. If not, then go to the App Store, purchased tab, and look for iPhoto, and download it (you'll need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run on Yosemite).
If you never installed iPhoto from the Mac App Store, then you should contact AppleCare, who can probably help you out. That's the only option in this case; upgrading from 10.9 or earlier straight to 10.10.3 is a bad incidence of timing.

  • Publication of photos from iweb to mobile me produce an error

I am no longer able to publish photos from iweb to my mobile me site
The process starts well; but some minutes after, it stops at a file (not always the same) as if the time was up or the size too large (I have plenty of room in Mobile me).
It has worked some months ago for the first set of photos ...
    thanks for you help

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password. This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
    If that doesn't help continue:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
    3 - reboot.
4 - launch iWeb and see if you can publish.
    If that doesn't help:
5 - move the domain file from your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
6 - launch iWeb, create a new test site and save.
7 - go to the your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
8 - move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
9 - launch iWeb and try again.

  • HT201317 How come my photo stream no longer updates photos automotically?

My phone no longer updates photos which I take automotically and the settings have not changed. I've also deleted many photos in my photostream so there's definitely enough room. My phone and laptop are also connected to wifi and icloud is on.. Can't figure out why this isn't working..

You might have to go to Settings>iCloud and turn photo stream off, then back on to get it working again.  To avoid losing any photos in the process, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos you want to keep, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  When you turn photo stream back on, you will only get photos added in the last 30 days.  Older photos are removed from your photo stream (even though they will remain on your device until deleted or you turn photo stream off).
Also, photos are only added to photo stream when you are connected to wifi, the camera app is closed and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.

  • Problem updating photo library

I just upgraded my eMac to Leopard, and now am trying to upgrade it to iLife 08. It seems to go fine, but when I open iPhoto, it says it needs to "update photo library." I have about 9,000 photos. It runs for several hours, and the blue bar hits about 80% complete, and the screen says I have 44 minutes left, and it sticks there. For hours. Any suggestions on what I should do?
    Jeff KC

    Jeff
I am wondering if I should go in to my iPhoto Library and move most of the files to another location,
Under no circumstances should you do that - all that will achieve is corrupt your library.
Try Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    Then try update that library.
    Regards

  • IPhoto on iPhone never completes Updating Photo Library

    Tried about 10 times.
After opening iPhoto, it attempts to Update Photo Library. It gets about 3/4 way done and then quits.
(I do have a LOT of photos, probably about 20,000 on my phone)
    iPhone 4S 64GB, IOS 5.1

I guess I simply had to many photos.
They were all from my iPhoto library on my computer. I synced my my iPhone to my computer and deleted most of them. I can put the photos back on later.
    Iphoto is working now.

  • Photos on iWeb (closer looks)

    Hello!
How do you set up photos on iWeb so that when they are published, you can click on them and they open a separate window and show you a close up?
    Thanks!
    bg

    bg:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. They do that already. Publish them to a photos page and when published and clicked on they will open in a larger window with a tray of thumbnails across the top. The slideshow also opens up to a larger size that can be paused to view more at leisure. Here's an example.
To get larger images that what's there you would have to upload a larger version, pixel wise, and then do a text link to each. That's not a good alternative. There may be other 3rd party slidehshow java file add on packages for the slideshow that might produce a larger size.
NOTE: Didn't notice you were using iWeb 1 so the example I gave is from iWeb 2.

How do I updating photos (not updating the library) after I have installed the Aperture 3 if I did not check the updating photo box during the installation.....thx...

If you mean Reprocess Masters with the new Aperture 3 feature set you will find that under the the Photos menu. Its the 4th from the bottom.
Or you can do this on a Project by Project basis using the right click contextual menu.
