Update problem, Lightroom 5.5, won't run since update

Hi, I did the update for Lightroom 5.5 at the same time as Photoshop cc, and since I updated Lightroom will not run at all. I've even tried running as administrator but it seems to just not point to the program at all. I removed the program and then re-installed from the creative cloud but still have the same problem

160gb ipod classic won't sync since update to 11.2.2, system wants to wipeout all current info on device

same has happened to me,  on and off,   for the last 6 months.   Its an issue with the Mavericks system and ipod classics.    works great for a while -  then one day for no reason - erases the entire iPod.   some days the copmputer will not recognize the iPod and you have to start over.  Apple will tell you that "you" may have a disc problem in the device.  that is all the help I have received.

Problems printing international shipping labels in PayPal since updating to iOS 7. When I press the reprint label button, another tab opens up, which it did in the previous version but instead of the shipping label bring displayed I get a message saying cannot open page as the network connection has been lost. By this point I have already been charged for the shipping. Any ideas why???

I have the same problem, not just with international labels, but with any shipping labels in Paypal.  iPhone 5 and iPad w/ Retina Display using iOS 7.0.2.

  • Lightroom 5.6 won't run on Win 7 6 after upgrade through CC

Upgrading Lightroom to 5.5 stopped it from running. I found a fix on the net and moved on.
Now. Lightroom 5.6 has just upgraded and now it won't run. Also, I cannot find a fix - new or old.
    This is very frustating..
    Please help

Installing the standalone version just postpones the problem until you install the cloud version, again.
The SLCache folder has bad data in it that confused LR 5.5 and again LR 5.6 until it was cleared, via Solution 4 on this page.  Of course there could be other issues, so trying each of the solutions in order could be useful, but Solution 4 is the one that finally worked for me, with LR 5.5 on my home computer, and LR 5.6 on my work computer, where I'd installed the standalone 5.5 to bypass the issue and it came back with LR 5.6:
Lightroom doesn't launch or returns "Develop module is disabled" error after 5.5 update
Once you remove the contents of the SLCache folder other Adobe programs will ask to be relicensed like Elements via a serial number or the cloud programs by logging in, but that is just once after you clear it not each time.

  • Programs won't run after update to 10.6.7

    Hi
I have just inherited an early 2008 iMac following my Dad's death a few months ago. So I have no Mac experience at all. On receiving it, I booted it up and a list of recommended software updates appeared which I ran, and by all accounts successfully installed. One of them was an update to 10.6.7
Previous to the update I could access the installed programs. Now I can access barely any of them.
    Error message reads:
    Application name cannot open.
Check with the developer to ensure this version of application name works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS.
There aren't any further updates needed. Every time I check, I'm advised everything is uptodate. So last night I reinstalled iTunes, downloading the latest version. That won't run. Same error message.
I'm unsure what to do now. I don't have any disks etc at the moment as Mum is still trying to locate them (they had more than one property and this has come out of one that has been boxed up and put onto the market).

This is a typical error report. The section I have bolded out seems to be common in all the errors.

  • Lightroom 5.5 won't open after update

I updated to Lightroom 5.5 using the Creative Cloud app, but the program will not open. I uninstalled and installed again, restarted, and logged on as a different user, but none of these things solved the problem.

Kbqvist_ I would recommend contacting our support team for direct assistance with the solution offered in the KB document in message #1.  For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.  Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you have described.
StevenMGoff thank you for the update.  This solution was published as it has allowed a majority of people affected by this error to utilize Lightroom successfully.  We are continuing to investigate the issue.  I am very happy to hear that directly downloading Ligthroom 5.5 from Product updates allowed you to successfully install Lightroom 5.5.

  • Macbook won't run software updates...11 of them.

I just realized my assistant has not updated her Macbook (my macbook) in a year in a half. Ouch.  I successfully installed 10.6.8 but cannot get the 11 other software updates to run. I'm specifically in need of a java update. Rather than running the 11 updates, it automatically skips to "re-start" screen but never actually runs the updates.  I realize it's likely because it's beens so long and there are too many - what do I do?

If you know what they are, you can download them manually from the Apple download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ . Before applying any, use Disk Utlity (on your hard drive in applications/utilities) and repair permissions, apply the update, and repair permissions afterwards. Do this for each update needed.

  • Java app won't run after updating JavaApplicationStub

Before updating to Lion, I had JDiskReport installed.
After updating to Lion, it says it can't run Power PC app.
I installed Java, and replaced the JavaApplicationStub in the JDiskReport.app/Contents/MacOS with the Lion version.
Still when I try to run JDiskReport, Lion tells me it can run a PowerPC app.
Is there an attribute or something I need to clear so that it will run JDiskReport?

I also can confirm that replacing JavaApplicationStub from where it's located in Lion: (/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/Resources/MacOS/JavaApp licationStub) and copying the file to the package contents of Jdisk report works.
    MPMeyer wrote:
    1.  I redownload the app, and dropped into Applications
    2.  make sure that you have Java installed on Lion, go to  apple site to install it.
    3.  Open the Applications folder in Finder, find the app and choose show package contents.
    4.  Find JavaApplicationStub,
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/Resources/MacOS/JavaAppli cationStub
    5.  Copy it into the Contents/MacOS folder of the Application from step 4.
I had to re-download the app, since there must be some kind of attribute set on the app that does not let it run, even after I updated the JavaApplicationStub.

  • Mail Won't Open Since Updating to Mavericks

Since updating to Maverick's, I've been having trouble opening Mail.  If I restart my computer, I am able to open it one time.  Then if I close it, I can't reopen it without restarting the computer.  If I try to open it, I get the spinning beach ball when I put my cursor on the info bar at the top of the screen and I have to Force Quit to get it to stop.  Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?  I searched the forums and came up empty so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate that too.  I have updated my software to the most recent version, OS 10.9.  I installed the Mail update, version 1.0, back in November.  I am running on a 2.7Ghz Intel Core i5 iMac. Thanks in advance for any help.

    I have the same problem.

  • Itunes won't launch since update

Seems like i have the same problem as a lot of people.
Since last update itunes won't launch
Just get a white screen and the blue circle going around the pointer.
Have tried the complete unistalll and reinstall without success
One thing i noticed is that when it freezes and i open task manager to close it down it says 32 bit next to itunes not 64 bit?
Is the wrong version being downloaded?

Without trying to be funny here, why should the problem be with my user account or my PC!
Without trying to be funny, you've accidentally succeeded in being a bit funny here.
This is a user-to-user troubleshooting forum. Folks come here to troubleshoot their problems. So we, quite naturally assume that's what you were trying to do, and reply to try to help you fix it. The reason why you see so many people here saying there are problems is that this is where people come if they have problems and want to fix them.
If you believe the problem is all at Apple's end, and would like to register a sort of complaint with them (rather than do any troubleshooting of your problem), then it makes a heck of a lot more sense to contact Apple directly via the product feedback pages. (Because this is primarily an user-to-user forum, there's no guarantee an Apple person will see your post here. They will read your feedback via the form, although they also say they will not respond.) Here's a link through to the iTunes product feedback form:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
(Given that you're not here to troubleshoot, I'll bid you adieu, and desubscribe from this particular topic.)

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Does that go through any better for you?

  • Classic won't run since i rebooted my mac

    hi
I don't remember my powermac G5 coming with two discs but i've recently bought a new macbook pro and given my powermac to my dad for using at work, which was all fine until i tried to install photoshop 5 (which i need to install so I can install my upgrades to CS1) and connect the printer which both need Classic to run, i know i've run classic before but since i've deleted everything and rebooted it from scratch it doesn't seem to be there and i can't find an 'additional software' disc anywhere.
is there any way i can download classic or get a new additional software disc? cos at the moment it's a bit like having half a computer. i've searched google and the mac store but can't seem to find anything
    thanks in advance
    James

Is the matter at hand, related to re-installing a Classic system into the
computer you say your dad now has? Or is it related to attempting to
use a third-party software in the replacement computer you now have?
The PowerMac G5 series computer (a tower version) would probably have
shipped with a set of machine-specific install discs, and Classic should
have been on a second disc along with the restore copies of any other
software included with the OS X that were not directly in the System.
You may be able to order a replacement set of original discs for that G5
direct from Apple Sales support at the phone number in the main web site.
For that, the original serial number, model info and method of payment
would be required; and hope such a version is still available from them
that would include the extra software, outside of a main OSX replacement.
Which computer was it, that won't run Classic since it was rebooted?
The only one would be the G5, since a newer Intel-based Mac won't
natively use a Classic system; and I am mentioning the obvious since
your initial question was not so exacting in the matter.
    Good luck & happy computing!
