Update problems & still more problems.

When my itunes automatically updated last week it failed. I then got all the error messages everyone else is getting. I followed a link on here and moved certain files onto my desktop and rebooted. No luck. I then followed the next step it suggested and uninstalled itunes. When I go to reinstall it the download never happens. It goes as far as save to file then never really downloads. My other friends who've had the same issues went straight to download and it worked. I'm so frustrated plus the same time all of this happened my sound disappeared. I've checked all my wires and went into the control panel to check all the settings and everything seems fine. Don't know what to do now.

Is Live Update helpful yet, or still more problems than fixes?

my 180 has been running decently for a while now. The only thing that still makes me want to hang myself is this asinine problem with the sound card occasionally disappearing, requiring an unplugged reboot.
I shut off live update a while back because it seemed to create more problems than it fixed. can anyone confirm whether there is anything in there that addresses the sound card issue?
Also, there appears to be a new BIOS featuring an option to "Enable USB Keyboard Latency". I am currently using a wireless USB keyboard and mouse with no problems. Do I care about the new BIOS?
Here's my current version info (mine on the left, MSI's on the right)
BIOS- 3.3 3.5
Live VGA Driver- 4467 6681
all other are up to date with live update. I have been very gun shy about letting it update these, since it seemed to cause so much trouble over the summer. Can anyojne shed some light on whether these updates are necessary?

okay, i guess it is a deluxe model. i initially thought the deluxes were the ones that could run dvds in hifi mode.
anywho, it finally lost the sound card again. it was an interesting feeling being excited about it for once, because i could continue this thread.
the speaker icon in the taskbar disappeared, and the nvidia drivers vanished from "sound, video, and game controllers" device manager (both nforce codec and nforce processor). msi live update doesn't find anything new, but just for giggles i clicked "update driver" from the properties tab on both, and windows was able to find new drivers.
at this point, i assume that noone has found a solution, so I'll keep updating this thread for those who are fellow sufferers.
Another thought on the heat issue, the outside temps hit 66 degrees fahrenheit today (who said january?), so i wonder if that raised the temp in the cabinet just enough?

Follow up on UA-25 and still more problems

When connecting a UA-25 pre-amp to your eMac have the UA-25 switches set correctly in order for GarageBand to allow you to set your sound preferences. For me, I had to have the sample rate set to 44.1, the rec/play button on play and the advance switch set to on.
BUT I STILL HAVE LEVEL PROBLEMS. My acoustic still won't record a robust signal. What is going on? I have all my levels jacked to eleven and I can barely get a good recording. Help?
Once again, within the past week I recorded one song with hot levels and now I am scraping the bottom instead of have a full, wide signal showing itself to me in GarageBand.

Clearly you're going through the mill here ....
If you've studied enough information on the various forums and what other people have told you....
You will have learned this much...
That the broadband is line adaptive ... in other words the linespeed and throughput depend on the condition of the connection.
Your attenuation (loop loss) governs the maximum throughput ... but as well as that you need a quiet line.
You line has 15db+ of SNRm applied to it ... when in fact it should be around 6db if the line was noise free.
Noise comes from 2 places ... on the network (line) ... and in the home.
Seeing that you've had numerous engineer visits ... let's assume the line is quiet.
You can test it yourself to some degree by dialling 17070 option 2 .... a quiet line test. It needs to be quiet.
If the line is quiet ... the induced noise has to be coming from stuff at home .... things like power supplies, crt monitors, hub too close to TV sets, speakers... and so on.
You have to try and segregate things and get as much power away from the hub and hub line as possible.
Think about what's data .... and what's power ... and seperate them as best you can.
You will have already seen posts about the test socket ... and benefits of it .... if the noise is in the home, the test socket will prove it ... you will see improvement, and if it does you know you have work to do.
If you then after all that find nothing ... you have to think about what's close by outside .... sodium street lamps next to.. or on ... the telephone pole, transformers, substations, overhead high voltage cables ... ans so on.
The fact is ... you do have noise, and it's strangling the broadband.
Cure that ... your problems go away.

Software update issues - made more problems for me

My Q10 just downloaded a new Software release 10.1.0.4189
I was excited because I had hoped it would solve the issue of the ring tones NOT working for TEXT messages.
NOT ONLY did it not correct that...
1. BUT I lost all of my videos and pictures in the Media Hide APP...
2. It duplicated several contacts... not all but some... so that is weird... and honestly it seems to duplicate contacts that are listed by a Business Name.... those were the majority of duplicates.
3. The little pictures I assign to contacts and the logos for businesses... are messed up... at least the LOGOS for businesses are not self sizing so you can not tell what it is in the contact screen (none of these were issues yesterday)
4. When I try to delete the duplicates from the contacts... the trash icon jumps to the left when I touch it... and it will NOT let me delete the duplicates... so I am forced to do it thru my OUTLOOK on the computer
I just downloaded the software update 2 hours ago... so I have no idea what else may have gone WRONG with it...
I do not even know what this update was supposed to be fixing... because the text ring tones are all I am MOST upset about loosing and it looks like the wording on the contacts changed to say EMAIL ring tones... instead of text... and I do NOT have one single BBM contact.... so TEXT and BBM should share that feature... since EMAIL is now a stand alone contact ringtone... so many features center around BBM and I have no blackberry friends...

It just seems bizarre that the text/ringtone issue would not immediately be resolved. Text is the way more people communicate today over vocal calls...and..the feature existed in previous systems. How could it not exist in their newest product??
You had mentioned u downloaded the newest update with the hope the text issue was resolved. Why did you think it would be? Did they ..BB..say they had a fix?
Another issue..that perhaps someone could help me with on same issue is that when I text using the q10...the text space is two lines....and if that a text happens to run three lines ...i can no longer see what I am texting...until..it is sent. Thus makes no sense..as this too was not part of the previous sysems where you were ALWAYS on last letter typed. Anyone else that that issue and perhaps know the fix?

Css copy paste problem still a problem in Dreamweaver CS4

Hi all, I know this one has been discussed before, but this is still a major usability issues with the product with no practical solution available.
For some reason no one seems to be able to mark http://forums.adobe.com/thread/209290?start=50&tstart=0 as unanswered, yet numerous posts stating it isn't resolved.
Therefore, I'm starting this request to see if there is a solution.
For those of you unaware, the issue affects Dreamweaver CS4 code view. After editing in code view (usually with CSS files though others have reported other code types) for a little while (sometimes within seconds, sometimes after many minutes of use) and then when you copy (Ctrl-C) the application selects all text and copies that. Usability wise, you've just lost your place in the code (which you may have spent some time finding in a complex file) and what you wanted to copy is not what's in the clipboard. So frustrating.
The issue is similarly repeated with pasting (i.e. you select some text or a place to paste and the system selects all before pasting from clipboard).
So does anyone know of a patch to fix this yet?

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller? Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones. The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
Try these steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

Two problems with my iPhone: screen doesn't light up at notifications & iPhone says updated apps still need to be updated

Alright, I'm having two annoying problems with my iPhone. It's an iPhone 4.
I'm using the latest iOS.
The first problem is that when I get a notification (a mail, text message, whatever), I hear the sound that it makes, but the screen doesn't light up. Then, when I click the home or the turn-on / off button (basically when I'm in the lock menu), it doesn't show the notification either. Yet, in the notification settings, I've set up to show them. For example mails. I just received a few mails. For mail, I've selected the banner in the notification center. But I see no banner. I see nothing in fact. I can unlock my phone and go in mail, and see the mail there.
What could be the reason for this? I've recently done some changes on it, I mean, not exactly on the iPhone, but in iTunes. I removed all photos from my iPhone (over 3000) and all songs that were on it. I decided to sync only the latest 3 months of photos and 3 months of music. I don't think it's related but it's the last thing I've done with it, and since then this has been happening, so I thought I'd mention it.
My second problem is that, while I was updating my music and photo library on my iPhone, I also synced all app updates. I have around 6 or 7 of them, lurking there for a while, and I never got the time to download them in iTunes and sync them with my iPhone. So that's what I did as well. Strangely enough, when I visit the App Store app, under Updates, it still tells me I have 5 apps to update. I remember one I updated on the iPhone itself.
They're all listed there with the little bar that shows up when it's loading, except it isn't loading. It's just stuck there, at the very beginning. No, not even at the beginning, because the blue little bar that moves forward isn't even present.The also show up this way on my iPhone "desktop" (Home), and it says "Waiting..." below them.
I've tried syncing again, and also restarting the iPhone, but it didn't help. Anyone know what's wrong here?

Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder before installing the new copy? If not then do so and delete the new application also.

As for question #2, you call tell how iTunes is sorting songs by the up or down arrow next to a header name.
Even the original order that the songs were entered or date added or last played can be sorted.
Much easier with a mouse or touch pad.

Make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) if you don't already have a currnet backup of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Restore as New (no backup)... then Re-Sync your Content.
Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer

Hello.
Today I got the opportunity to work with a Muse user with the same issue after performing the troubleshooting steps in the post above we decided to contact the host.
Later i came to know that host took Muse user's IP and they were able to unblock it and muse started connecting to FTP host.
I another scenario Host suggested Muse user to add :21 to the FTP address and then Muse was able to connect.
Eg ftp.domain.com:21
Please try the 2 suggestion above and let me know if it works.
