Update records in adressbook in J2ME(NEW TO J2ME)
Hi all,
I am trying to update the records in an address book in J2ME, but I can't do it, since there is no UpdateRecord( )
How can I do it?
I think the method you're looking for is javax.microedition.pim.Contact.commit() inherited from interface javax.microedition.pim.PIMItem.
{color:#0000ff}http://www.forum.nokia.com/document/Java_ME_Developers_Library_v1/GUID-654A42A3-C453-411A-A153-366C08AEF058/javax/microedition/pim/PIMItem.html#commit(){color}
This method persists the data in the item to its PIM list.
See the code samples available at

In future, j2me questions should be posted in the CLDC and MIDP forum at

How to update the recorded scripts as per the new interface
Hi,
I am using E-tester 8.20 and generating the scripts by record and playback. Here my problem is how to update the scripts when new version of user interface (UI) comes. For example, page1 of UI has recorded with 5 text boxes. In the new version of UI, one more text box (6th text box) has been added and that is mandatory filed. So I have to update my scripts as per the new interface to enter a value in the 6th text box. Is there any way to do it? Any kind of help should be appreciated.
Regards,
VinodHi
Are you talking functional or load scripts?

Check new username on update record
I used the update form wizard to update records.
I am giving the user an option to change his/her username
from this form.
The "check username" server behavior is only valid if I do an
insert record, not an update.
Is there a way to combine them? I've search and found
nothing.David Powers wrote:

Thanks for bringing this up David. Also, this issue is
neither specific to this particular script nor limited to
Dreamweaver generated scripts. Most form processing scripts that
have any server side validation will have this same issue -- how to
limit what the user has to reenter to correct whatever the
particular issue was found. Not that you can't work around it, and
it's fairly easy to work around (as I'm sure the examples in your
book make it), if you know what you're doing.

Update record with check new user
I have a page where the already registered member can create
a username and password to access the secure part of my site. I
need to be able to 1) check for uniqueness of username (no
duplicates) , 2) validate my fields (password, confirm password,
email address)
Is there a way to apply the check new username behavior to
the update record server behavior I have in place?
thanks,
RobIn the server behaviors panel with the submit button
selected, from the (+) button choose User Authentication then Check
New Username. There you can set uniqueness and requirements. From
there, on the behaviors panel (not server behaviors), again with
the submit button selected, select the (+) button and choose
Validate Form. From there you can set requirements and validations.
That should at least help. -

Mapping problem with compressed key update record
Hi, could you please advise?
I'm getting the following problem:
About a week ago replicat abened with "Error in mapping" error. I found in discard file some record looking like:
filed1 = NULL
field2 =
field3 =
field4 =
field5 =
datefield = -04-09 00:00:00
field6 =
field8 =
field9 = NULL
field10 =
Where filed9 = @GETENV("GGHEADER", "COMMITTIMESTAM"), field10 = = @GETENV("GGHEADER", "COMMITTIMESTAM"), others are table fields mapped by USEDEFAULTS
So I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record at 2012-06-01 15:44
I guess I need to mention that extract failed in 5 minuts before it with: VAM function VAMRead returned unexpected result: error 600 - VAM Client Report <[CFileInfo::Read] Timeout expired after 10 retries with 1000 ms delay, waiting to read transaction log or backup files. To increase the number of retries, use SETENV (GGS_CacheRetryCount = n) in Extract parameter file. To control retry delay time, use SETENV (GGS_CacheRetryDelay = n). handle: 0000000000000398 ReadFile GetLastError:997 Wait GetLastError:997>.
I don't know if it has ther same source as data corruption, could you tell me if it is?
Well, I created new extract, starting 2012-06-01 15:30 to check if there was something with extract at the time, but got the same error.
If I run extract beging at 15:52 it starts and works.
But well, I got another one today. Data didn't look that bad, but yet one column came with null value:( And I'm using it as a key column, so I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record again:(
I'm replicating from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11g.
I'm actually using NOCOMPRESSUPDATES in Extract.
CDC is enabled for all tables replicated. The only thing is that it is enabled not by ADD TRANDATA command, but by SQL Server sys.sp_cdc_enable_table, does it matter?
Could you please advise why does it happen?Well, the problem begins somewhere in extract or before extract, may be in transaction log, I don't know:(
Here are extract parameters:

Where is the update records form wizard in dreamweaver cc?
Where is the update record form wizard in dreamweaver cc?
Does anyone know of a website or a reference manual about dreamweaverCC? every example and tutorial online are mostly about older versions of Dreamweaver. Some brainiac at Adobe thought, why don't we change the whole freaking interface around so nobody can figure out where anything is anymore with the new version....&^$@^#$^^Simply choose Server Behaviours --> + --> Update Record

How to change the status of updated record?
Hi All,
how to change the status of updated record?
new record should be active version(X) and old version will be deleted.
Plz suggest..
Thanks in advance...Steve,
In the actual question, you mentioned that the old record needs to be deleted and hence the solution provided.
Now, you are talking about field. May I know which field are you talking about??
Jst get in to ABAP Editor and try debugging the code with the solution provided and let us know if that is working fine or not.
Also, I recommend you to take a look at the transaction ABAPDOCU. There you wil find hell lot of examples explaining all the scenarios. You will get a good idea .
Please check that and try to implement it yourself. You will be able to make it after doing mistakes.
If you stuck up again after many attempts, paste your code here. We will help you out
Hope you got my concern.
Thanks,

Get error ORA-20505 and ORA-01403 when UPDATING record
Hi,
I'm running APEX 3.2.1, on Oracle XE 10.2.0.1, on Sun Ultra20 (Intel-based) running Windows Server 2003.
I created a small, department database - to keep track of contacts, equipment, etc.
Initially, I used a NUMBER as the PRIMARY KEY in both the CONTACTS table and EQUIPMENT tables. I created a CONTACTS interactive report and a CONTACT DETAILS form, where the EDIT button on a row in the CONTACTS report brings up the individual record to modify. Same thing for EQUIPMENT - interactive report page and form page.
This all worked fine!
Then, I decided to change the PRIMARY KEY for the CONTACTS table to a STRING - with CONTACT_FIRST_NAME and CONTACT_LAST_NAME as the primary key. I figured I this would prevent duplicate entries. After the change, inserts work. Updates work, IF a change is made to ANY field EXCEPT first name or last name.
UPDATES fail - if user modifies EITHER the first name or last name - in APEX. But, update SUCCEEDS if done in SQL Developer. Obviously, I missing a subtle nuance in APEX, but I can't figure it out.
I've included DEBUG trace and version information below.
Thanks,
Andy

Unable to update record in web Form
Hi, i am unable to update record in a form. I am building a custom form using forms 6i and putting it on the web in oracle applications 11.5.9
I used template.fmb as a starting point for my form. I have one datablock based on a table. Insert, update and delete properties are set to yes on the property pallete of data block. The table against which i am running the form has a primary key which is a combination of two fields. I am able to update a record with pure SQL running against the table.
My form now brings back a record from the db like it should but whenever I try to update that record either by pressing Action Save or by clicking button that has update statement in it, instead of doing an update, it does an insert and tells me that this record already exists and that i entered value(s) that must be unique for each record. It thinks I want to insert but I want to update. What am i doing wrong???
Update allowed value is set to Yes in all the items in the data block and at the data block level as well. Querly_only is set to no.
What's even more frustratinng is that I've ran the form manually before starting with template.fmb and have been able to update the table but when I put it on the web and used template.fmb it stopped working!
I am very new to forms, can anybody suggest anything? Please help!!!When you populate the 2nd block with a select into query, it's the same as just typing the data into the block. The record is treated as one needing to be inserted, not as one that is queried.
To populate it using a true query, but with data from the LOV, you can do this:
Programmatically set the default_where clause of the block based on the LOV. For example, if a name is chosen from the LOV in an item called LOV1, you could do:
set_block_property('block2','default_where','name='''||:block1.lov1||'''');
or if the LOV is a number, like a department number:
set_block_property('block2','default_where','deptno='||:block1.lov1);
The tricky part when you build your where clause is that you must surround strings with single quotes, and the way to do this is to use two single quotes to represent an actual single quote in the where clause. Otherwise a single quote is interpreted as part of the PL/SQL syntax.
Then, just navigate to block 2 and execute a query:
go_block('block2');
do_key('execute_query');
I hope this works for you. I didn't have time to test this, so I hope I didn't make any syntax errors when typing. -
Informatica failed to update records in target table
Hi,
Recently I converted hourly full load into incremental laod. everything is working good except updating records in target. Informatica not updating any records and I'm trying to understand and troubleshoot the issue. details given below
I ran mapping debugger and came to know Filter transformation is filtering the data instead of passing to next transformation because update flag is X.
ETL_PROC_WID AND LKP_ETL_PROC_WID are same and update flag = X.
I dont understand why ETL_PROC_WID AND LKP_ETL_PROC_WID are same. As per my knowledge Informatica generates new ETL_PROC_WID for every ETL run. If you know anything about it please let me know.
I executed code in SYS_COL_DIFF and UPDATE_FLG manually(on paper for few records) by assuming ETL_PROC_WID AND LKP_ETL_PROC_WID are different and got UPDATE_FLG=U
If you know how MPLT_GET_ETL_PROC_WID mapplet in OOTB works please let me know.
appreciate you for your help
Thanks
Jay.

You can try your hands on MERGE while performing the INSERT operation
Something like this
MERGE INTO Emp_Org eo
USING (
select Empno,deptno,empname,currenttimestamp from Emp
) x
ON (
eo.Empno = x.Empno
WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
INSERT
Empno,
country,
Emporg,
currenttimestamp,
Targettimestamp
VALUES
x.Empno,
'USA', /* Used Constant here */
'Emporg', /* Used Constant here */
x.currenttimestamp,
sysdate /* Used Constant here */
);If you are not ok with the solution, then provide some sample data with expected output -
Trouble updating record w/ attached file.
Hi, Posted in the SQL forum but no response. Hopefully someone here will have an idea. My application has a file upload feature so a file can be attached to every record saved with this INSERT on Submit:<br><br>
if (:P3_Filebrowser is not null) then<br>
insert into DBA_PATCHLOG( PATCH_NUMBER, LINK, FILE_NAME, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE, SHORT_NAME) <br>
select :P3_PATCH_NUMBER,id,:P3_Filebrowser,blob_content,mime_type,filename
<br>from wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br><br>
delete wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br>
end if;<br><br>
The only problem I have, is when I edit/update a record. I don't want to create a new record with a new file. I want to update the existing one with a new file. I have Automatic Row Processing (DML) to edit the record data but it does not submit the "to-be-attached" file info. For this I need another process. With that in mind I would like to add to the INSERT process another WHERE condition to show which record to update:<br><br>
if (:P3_Filebrowser is not null) then<br>
where PATCH_NUMBER = :P3_PATCH_NUMBER;<br>
insert into DBA_PATCHLOG( LINK, FILE_NAME, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE, SHORT_NAME) <br>
select id,:P3_Filebrowser,blob_content,mime_type,filename
<br>from wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br><br>
delete wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br>
end if;<br><br>
Not sure if this is the right logic. Does this make sense?Using HTML DB v1.6. My app is based off the How To Build: File Up/Download application.Thanks..Thanks Warren but I don't think I was very clear on OP.<br>I want to include the " where PATCH_NUMBER = :P3_PATCH_NUMBER; " so that the process knows where in the DBA_PATCHLOG table to insert the data (blob_content, mime_type and so on) coming from wwv_flow_files_table.<br><br>
if (:P3_Filebrowser is not null) then<br>
where PATCH_NUMBER = :P3_PATCH_NUMBER;<br>
insert into DBA_PATCHLOG( LINK, FILE_NAME, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE, SHORT_NAME) <br>
select id,:P3_Filebrowser,blob_content,mime_type,filename
<br>from wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br><br>
delete wwv_flow_files where name = :P3_Filebrowser;<br>
end if;<br><br> -

Hi,
I Understand that with XML save you can insert a row into a database however I am very confused about the ability of using XML to update a record.
Can I use XML save to update a record? Eg if I have a primary key will it update instead of save?
Are there any best practices for updating records when passed an XML record?
Many ThanksA common way to pass data with custom events is to extend the
event class to create a new version which has a reference to a var
of the datatype you are passing, and then in your metadata type the
event to your custom event class. If that makes sense
[Event(name="customEvent", type="events.CustomEvent")] -
SM13 - Error in Collect.Run - Yellow status update records.
Hello,
After some problems with update queues in R/3, we have some update records in yellow status "Error in collective run" in sm13 t-code.
If we run collective run, new records are pushed into rsa7, but this yellow status records won't move, and we actually need them.
Does anyone know how to process this errors?Hi,
There is no problem with background process, the new update records are being processed with no problem.
These update records remain in yellow status since yesterday, but new records are being processed.
