Update Repeating

Everything is working fine with my Mac App Store, except for an update I have. When it first came out, I downloaded the Twitter for Mac app. Everything was fine. Then an update to the app came, I downloaded it, everything was fine. But now, another update came, I download it, it installs, the app marks as running the new version, but when I launch the App Store again, it says I have the same update again. This happens every time I launch the App Store and I don't know what to do. Is there anything I can do to solve this?
Thanks!

Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS.

    Hi Daniel
I have done an RSOP on a VM I am testing and only have the user policy :
Remove Access To All Windows Update Features which is set to
0 - Do not show any notifications.
    And the machine policy :
Specify intranet Microsoft update service location which is set to
Enabled The GPO Name is Local Group Policy
    The policies look OK.
As a test I have deployed some updates and set the user experience to
Display all notifications and set the Suppress restarts
for both Servers and Workstations.  When I deploy the updates, I get notifications that the updates are installing (when the deadline is met) and then I get a prompt telling me that a restart is required.  I also get a windo letting me restart now
or I can ask to be reminded in x number of hours.  This seems like expected behaviour.  It does not force a restart.  However if I leave the VM on over night I come in the following day and can see it has restarted.  looking at the WindowsUpdate.log I
can see that at 3:15am the line AUInvoking reboot system.  It looks like Windows Updates and not SCCM is forcing the restart.
    Thanks

  • App Store updates repeating

I'm experiencing an issue where the App Store shows updates available for programs repeatedly, even if they just received the update that is available. These aren't new updates, it is running the update for the same version, over and over.
    For example:
I run the updates, and iMovie receives an update to v 10.0.3.
Afterwards I check the version of the program on the disk, and it is 10.0.3.
The following day, I receive the notification that "Application updates are available" including the same update for iMovie, 10.0.3.
I can run the updates repeatedly, one-after-the-other, and it will endlessly continue to download and install the same versions. Clearly the App Store isn't correctly checking that the programs on the disk match the version of the available updates.
Currently, this seems to only occur with Apple's programs (iMovie, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, GarageBand) but also Evernote. I have other programs installed via the App Store which don't have this problem. Also OS system updates do correctly install only once.
    I'm on Mavericks, OS X 10.9.2, MacBook Air 1.7 GHz i7.
Any ideas how to solve this problem? My guess is there is a local cache file that determines which program versions are installed, and this file is corrupt or has incorrect permissions. I wonder if my disabling Spotlight has caused this.
    Thanks,
    Quinn

I have this problem and it is not consistant. Some updates keep asking to be repeated and others perform normally.
In my case the cure is to boot the Mac into "Safe Boot" by holding down the shift key when turning on until the Apple logo appears, then release it. Be patient as safe boot can take a while. Select yourself as the "user".
When settled go into the App store and the items requiring update go away.
    Now restart the Mac normally.
All repeated updates have gone away.
In my case this has cured the problem for a while until more updates come along but not all cause the problem.
I know this is not a complete cure but it helps me.
I have been in contact with Apple (under my Apple care) several times but they have not been able to solve it.

  • Aurora update repeating endlessly.

Same 8.0a2 update Aurora repeating endlessly. Automatic update has been applied several times and the Manual Update has even been downloaded applied once. I am still being asked to update Aurora with the same 8.0a2 update. Browser is currently showing version 8.0a2.

If the updates were working correctly, you would get updates every day or few or more days whenever there are checkins. Currently you are using a old September 5th build.
The more unstable Nightly updates works the same way also but because there is almost always checkins each day there are 1 update (sometimes a respin build) each day.
This forum tends to see posts more on the stable Firefox releases so if you want to do testing and get help with such builds then http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23 may be better.

  • HT1338 App Store updates:  Repeated Error message saying I must sign in, though I already did.  , I click on update, Error message that I need to sign in to the same account I already signed in.

App Store updates:  I sign in, my password is accepted, I click on update, and still get the error message that I need to sign in to the same account I already signed in at.  What do I have to do to get my app updates?

Please try each of the following steps you haven't already taken, until the issue is resolved. After each step, relaunch the App Store and try again.
    1. Follow the instructions in the Apple Support article linked below:
Mac App Store: Cannot update App Store purchases or updates do not seem available
    2. If any App Store purchases were made under a different Apple ID, or if the bundled iLife applications were accepted under a different ID, sign in to the App Store with that ID to update.
    3. Alternatively, delete the probem applications and re-download them with the ID you're using now. If you haven't already purchased them with that ID, you'll have to do that first, because purchases can't be transferred from one account to another.
    4. Select the Purchased tab in the App Store window. If you see an item in the list marked "You have 3 apps to accept," click Accept.
    5. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window may open with a file selected. If it does, delete the selected file. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Then repeat step 4.
    6. Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. If you're trying to update any hidden purchases, unhide them.
    7. Launch iTunes and select
    Store ▹ Authorize This Computer
    from the menu bar.
    8. If you've moved any App Store apps out of the applications folder, or into a subfolder, put them back. Never move or copy those applications.

  • System Update Repeats Driver Download

Hi, I've searched on the Boards for a solution to this problem and haven't been able to find it.
    I hope someone can help.
I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit on an ancient 3000 N100. Model number 0768-E5U. System Update version 3.14.0024.
My problem is that I recently had to wipe my system and start over. System update is repeatedly telling me that I need to update the driver for my Intel PROWireless 3945ABG connection ver: 12.4.3.9. Even if I accept the download and install, when I restart, it still brings it up.
I already have that driver installed.
Did I miss a driver for System Update ?
    Please help!

  • Why do my updates repeat?

It seems that I'll do an update successfully, then a couple of days later the same update comes up. WTH? I thought the Appstore kept track of my stuff.
I have a rather slow 'net connection, so these repeated downloads are a pain.

Carolyn Samit, Thanks for letting me know that it is a "known issue" -- (I would have expected Apple to make that known---   ).
I will verify "release date" in the future and abort.
My slow connection is DSL at the far limits of servicability, as far as wire length from the telco equipment station goes.

  • Updates repeated error: 1303

Error 1303 in spite of uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe.  Also OSX 10.8.3 does not let me complete edit root when I jumped through all the hoops.  The last step cannot be completed because root does not show in window where 'root enable' should be.  Maybe when I am uninstalling Adobe I am not totally into the trash with Adobe Reader and/or Adobe Flash Player?  Not withstanding that, still the Mac solution is not available since last step is not observable in selection window.  Kindly advise.  Thank you

  • Premiere Pro CC2014.2 update repeated fail

I have tried to update Premiere to CC2014.2 via the CC updater on my iMac (OSX 10.8.5), which gets to 100% in the progress bar and then says update failed. I have also downloaded the updater from ProDesignTools, which also failed. Please could anyone advise on how to proceed.

    Hi,
In that case i would suggest you to use the CC cleaner tool to uninstall Adobe programs and reinstall.

  • Why does Acrobat Pro 11.0.7 updates repeatedly fail to install?

Why am I suddenly getting the error every time autoupdate runs? This just started. I tried uninstalling as directed. When I try to download my previously purchased COMPLETE application, nothing happens. Downloading from the Adobe site gives me an application that Adobe wants me to spend $14 on EVERY month. I've already paid for this application once - I'll be damned if I will pay again. I run Mavericks 10.9.5. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

Try http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC). With XI, you just go ahead and install the latest. It indicates the update applies to any previous updates. For previous versions of Acrobat. most of the updates had to be installed in order. When you do the installation, be sure to be logged in as the administrator (as when you installed the original XI) and have anti-virus disabled.

  • Software Updates Repeat

Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion and its new Software Update process I have exprienced some programs that Software Update wants to update again and again.  Currently, the three that the software wants to install multiple times are:  Angry Birds, 3.0; Growl 2.0.1; and Pimp your Screen 1.6.   Previously  software installed BusyCal 2.0.2 three times.  This problem occurs on my iMac and MacBook Pro.  They both run Mountain Lion.
I don't know if Apple is having problems with third party apps in its store or there is something on my Macs that is not right, like a plist, that is causing Software Update not to recognize that it previously installed the programs.
Has anyone else experience this issue?  If so, what was the fix?   I called Apple once about it but the problem seems to go away for awhile.  It is back now.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

  • A recent PSE9 update repeatedly has download errors. What's wrong?

Yesterday, 11-Jun-2014, and again today, an automatic updater app (on my Win7/64 PC) indicated an update was available. Several times yesterday, and again several times today, I initiated the update to PSE9.0.3 (which came bundled with Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 update) the download process apparently completes but then an error message showing "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." appears. I've been running PSE5 for several years and just recently installed PSE9 (PSe5 is still installed). This is the first unannounced update for PSE9 that has appeared. What's going on with the erroneous download??

    Hi,
The last updates for PSE 9 was the 9.0.3 patch and ACR 6.5.
In the editor, if you go to Help -> About Photoshop Elements, does it say version 9.0.3?
Again, in the editor, go to Help -> About Plug-ins -> Camera raw, does it say 6.5.0.216?
If both are as above, then you are up to date. If one needs updating, try downloading the update and apply it manually.

  • Same updates repeatedly offered by Apple Software Update in Windows 7

Apple Software Update constantly offers installed updates unless I tell it to ignore them.
    Windows 7 SP1 x64
    Apple Software Update v2.1.3

After a month of waiting & having same problem as you, today when I turned on my computer an Apple Software Update appeared right on my desktop telling me to download the new update.  I did & it downloaded just fine.  I assume it should be coming to your computer soon also.
Yeah ... it's a bit "patchy" though, Sassy. It can come right for some people and yet not for others ... and there's been a few reports in some of the bigger threads of it coming right for some folks and then going silly again (for the same folks).
A good rule of thumb with this one is that if you do get a "window" where ASU seems to work fine, get as many updates done as you can (just in case the window closes again).

  • My iOS6 update repeatedly stalls.

The G4 won't update by either WiFi or hardwired to PowerBook. It starts to download and then just stalls--no error messages--a very unsatisfactory result. Why is this, Apple? This updating is behaving as not-ready-for-primetime.

    Hi randers4 -- thanks for the follow-up.
In regard to your question, I keep updated to the most recent versions of all Apple iTunes on both PC and iPhone.
The phone iOS6 finally loaded on about two hours after I posted.  I started out by keeping it connected to my MacBookPro, but finally unhooked the phone and left it on a charge and logged into the WiFi. An operation that the iPhone said at the start would take 46 minutes actually took over four and a half hours, so my experience indicated that one should not believe the information that comes at the start. In the midst of this--about an hour and a half in, a "remaining two minutes" came on and then the download stalled again. That's when I posted my query that you answered.  This was on a home high-speed cable connection that did not change connection speeds nor was there any firewall to foul the connection. It appears the download problem is now solved, but my advice to others is to upgrade during overnight hours.

  • IMovie and iPhoto updating repeatedly?

A few weeks ago I installed iMovie update 10.0.7. As far as I could tell there was nothing wrong with the update but later on the exact same update came back up as available in app store. I installed it again and yet again the same thing happened. I've installed it 10 times now but it still comes up as available. It's really annoying and the same thing started happening with iPhoto when 9.6.1 of that came out. Was wondering if the same has happened to anyone else and if there's anything I can do to fix it? I've installed other updates like the most recent Safari and security update without this issue, and tried uninstalling both programs but they still came up as available updates when they weren't on my computer.

Okay. Is there information there that would allow anyone to help you?
