UPDATE RULES INACTIVE WHEN BI CONTENT INSTALL

Hi,
When i activating business content update rules are not coming as active.
when i raise OSS note to SAP the following suggession given.
editing the UPDRs, and changing the update method from the Time Ref. tab.
how to edit update rules, from time Ref tab there is routine, for 0cal year/month i need assign source field in time ref. tab.
what is the code for it please let me know/ how to resove the issue.
unless i write the code / assiging the source field the update rules cannot be activated.

Hi,
You can easily edit your update rules by getting into change mode.
Step 1: Double Click on your KF relevant Ty column
Step 2: After doing necessary mappings in KF Calculation Tab, Chars Tab
Step 3: Click on Time Ref Tab and again click on Method of your Time Char
You need to be careful about How you want to map your Time Chars. It depends on your business logic. Discuss with your Functional team or please cross check with your Blue print before you map any fields.

I am stuck while importing transport request of update rules. I am moving transport request of update rules from 1 system to another and stuck while importing it in 2nd system. Only two update rules are stuck among all giving an error of "inactive update rules".

Updates rules inactive after add KF

Hi experts,
we have to add aditional key figures to a infocube that is already in Q and P systems (with data).
Now we are not being able to transport the update rules to those systems.
Correct me if i'm wrong but if you add aditional characteristic's or key figures you don't need to delete data in the infoproviders in the ohter systems.
we have already try to transport:
cube and then update rules;
all together cube and update rules
in both cases it fails.

Varadarajan, our database is in SQL the spaces requirements that you refer are the same for this scenario? The fact table for this infop is 43G in Q system and our database have enough space.
am i making this analysis ok including the Db space?
Praveen the update rules are not datamart's.
The transport ends with a 8 code and for each update rule inlcude gives the message:
Update rules 2237DNCKOFJ13SFIK2PT581MQ read in version M
Error when activating update rule 2237DNCKOFJ13SFIK2PT581MQ
Sadeesh, all necessary objects are in the destiny system and no modifications were made at infosource/data source level.

Update Rules inactive-Log not found in main memory

Hi
I am trying to active update rules but it is failing with log not found in main memory.
I tried update rules syntax check and system says no error when checking the update rules.
What could the reason? How can I dig this further? Please advise ASAP as this is urgent.

Check out if there has been any update error in VA02 using transaction SM13.

0HR_PY_1 Update rules missing in Business Content

Hi All,
In business content update rules from 0HR_PY_1 to Cube 0PY_C02 is missing.
We are on BI_CONT 703 0009 SAPKIBIIP9 Package level. I have checked in other system which is on package level 7 the update rule exists. And in the system with package level 11 the update rule doesn't exists.
Did anybody faced this issue. Any solution/comments on the same.

HT4623 hi when i start updating may iPhone with IOS.6 After the updating bar completed when i pressed install then a verifying update note appears ater awhile i get a note reading( Unable to install updating An error occurred installing iOS.6.)

i whent through the updating proceduer but i still get this not (Unable to Install Update An error occurred installing iso.6) After the note of verifing updated .

Even I got same mesage but after restoring the phone using itunes, it worked for me. First restore and update your phone again using itunes.

is cut off, proceed as follows to get the complete complete error message:
Go into update rule maintenance, choose Extras -> Display Activated Program and perform a syntax check. This allows you to find out what the error is.
If I select the Display Activated Program it says does not exist.

Reg: 0PUR_C01 - Update Rule - Not Getting Installed

Dear friends
I am trying to activate MM Cube (0PUR_C01)
But when collecting dependent objects for 0PUR_C01 with data flow before option, Once collection over, system throws the following message
1.             Object 0DB87SIC1 (InfoObject,IOBJ) could not be collected for object 0PUR_C01 (InfoCube,CUBE)
2.     Object 0DBGUDUNS (InfoObject,IOBJ) could not be collected for object 0PUR_C01 (InfoCube,CUBE)
3.     Object '0DB87SIC1' (IOBJ) of type 'InfoObject' is not available in version 'D'
4.     Object '0DBGUDUNS' (IOBJ) of type 'InfoObject' is not available in version 'D'
And also, I could able to see the following long text error message.
1.     You have collected objects in the BI Metadata Repository. Associated objects for object 0PUR_C01 of type InfoCube, CUBE have also been collected. Object 0DB87SIC1 of type InfoObject,IOBJ was among these objects
2.     However, this object 0DB87SIC1 of type InfoObject,IOBJ is not available in the metadata repository
3.     If this error occurs while you are installing BI Content, an error may have occurred during the delivery. Inform SAP. In all other cases, check that the object has not been deleted by another user during collection.
I tried to install those collected objects, the cube alone gets installed and visible in workbench. Update Rules are not getting installed. Even after,I have collected the update rule separately and tried to install lot of times, no luck for me
eventhough the job has been successful
If anybody came across this type errors, Please guide me to solve that

u just ignore this errors and install. this wont affect.
u just try again colllecting the cube and collect it "befroe and after"

Activate Update Rules from Business Content

Hello,
I am trying to install 0QM_C10 from business content. Every thing works fine except there are no update rules (there are 3 info sources for this cube). I am new to this and it doesn't make sense for me to manually create (ofcourse the system does the proposal) update rules. Since that is lot of work. I was expecting some transaction / tool where I can activate the update rules from the Business Content (since I can see the update rules in the business content under "Display Description". Is there any tool like that?
Or, am I doing some thing wrong so the update rules are not automatically installed from the business content along with Cube and info sources?
Note: I did separate installation for cubes as well as info sources from business content using Grouping by "Only necessary objects" option.

Restrict Update Rule from Re-install

We've modfied SAP delivered update rules to add our own start routines and mapping. Since update rules are non-mergeable objects in business content installation, they gets overwritten with business content delivered version if someone re-installs the update rules. Is there any way we can restrict from allowing user to re-installing the update rule? Is there any BAPI or user exit available throught which I can restrict installation of specifc update rules? Any inputs are appreciated.

Since you have your own routines, the best thing is to keep this as the custom update rules and leaving the content one untouched.

I'm actually having a problem when I'm creating update rules from my cube to my Infosource. This infosource is created by Dierct update of Master data (ZXXXX) Infoobject. the error which is popping up is ,
Data source ZMMOBJ1 not maintained (check your entries)

Diagnosis
The data source is not active
Can some one guide me, How I can resolve this error.??

Hi,
Check the infosource you are using for the cube. you cant use direct update infosource.
'Direct update of master data' infosource updates into the infoobject.
you will not have update rules for this direct update.
you use update rules only when you use flexible update infosource.

Message RSAU466 when update rules activation

I did some corrections in an ABAP routine in update rules. When I try to activate them this message appears :
Message no. RSAU466
Diagnosis
When generating the update program for data target XXXXX, InfoSource YYYYY, a syntax error occured in row 1.980.
System response
The update rules cannot be activated.
Procedure
If the error message Incorrect logical expression. is cut off, do the following to get the complete error message:
Go into the update rule maintenance, choose Extras -> Display Activated Program and carry out a syntax check there. You can then find out what the error was.
I've tried to display the acitvated program but this message occurs : Unable to find a tool to process the request
I don't want to delete and recreate my update rules because thes are very complicated and it's very risky.
Any idea ?

I've already seen these notes but we don't want to import support packages...
I've found the generated program of the update rules (GPxxxxxxxxxxxx) and at the line 1980 that is wrote : S_COB_PRO_PLANT TYPE RSD_S_COB_PRO.
I have no idea what to do now...

update rules are not activating. under the cube when BI content activation. What is the issue in activating the update rules from BI content. From BI content the available version objects only will be activated i think. Please rectify and resolve the same at the earliest friends.

Error in activating the update rules

Hi All
I am getting an error while activating Business Content update rules.
I have activate Cube and corresponding InfoCube and was trying to select update rule for the Cube and installing it.
It however gives an error saying Update Rules (Technical Name) are not found.
Anyone encountered this in the past.
If yes let me know the remedy

This might be a long shot, but I still want to see if I can be of any assistance:
Have you encountered SAP note 789272 and SAP note 787875?
They should be contained in SP 19 for BW 310, and your errors do resemble those we encountered, albeit using a different version of BW. These notes are relevant for both mine and your version.

Having problem with 0liv_dso1 update rules.
Im trying to install the routines for the update rule from content. Everything ele is available apart from the routines. Has anybody had this same problem where one routine hasnt been available.
