  • SEUS update service problem

    Hi all,
I have an Xperia X10 on vodafone australia. vodafone only recently released the updates for the x10, so i ran the update service. Only problem is, the update service doesn't work.
I make it to the screen where SEUS has confirmed that my phone needs to be updated, then proceeds to download the new firmware. only problem is, when the download is 500kb away from being completed (147.1 / 147.7 KB), it will stop and do nothing. when i then cancel the update then start it again, it will resume the download for a DIFFERENT SIZED FILE (131.7 mb) which, if i left the update going after it froze, is already half downloaded (implying that it's still downloading something even though it says it's stopped. i've tried restarting my computer, restarting the program, trying the program on another computer, leaving the battery out of my phone for over 30 seconds, everything that a techy would get you to do.
I'm running SEUS on windows 7 64bit, running as admin. i also tried it on a 32bit vista laptop, but i had the same problem.
does anyone else have this problem? can an admin point me in the right direction to fix this? is there anywhere i can download the necessary files and place them in a folder so that SEUS can update from file instead of from download?
i'm really begging for help here, i'm still stuck on R1FA014, the keyboard is starting to give me the sh!ts.

you beauty, pc companion worked. MY GOD THE PHONE IS SO MUCH FASTER AFTER UPDATE!!!!!!

  • Flash Player Update Service Problem

    Hallo,
I use Firefox, Vers. 13.0.1. and  Adobe Flash Player Vers. 11.3.300.262
According to the new installation of Firefox 13.0.1. and the above version of AFP the problem of AFP crashing after closing Firefox was resolved.
However, I now have the problem when AFP trys to Update. I constantly receive ther error message:
"Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and must end the process."
I receive this message several times per day.
This message may be different in the English language, as I am in Germany and receive naturally the German translation.
    I work under Windows XP.
Can anyone give me a tip?

That's one of the many reported bugs that (hopefully)  Adobe is  working on now -- See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4534831
As a quick fix to the problem, you might try disabling Flash Player's "auto search for updates" feature.
    Go to this page -- http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l
Click on the "globe-checkmark" icon tab.
Click on the check-mark in the box next to "notify me when an update to adobe flash player is available" to clear it.
After you do this, right click on the screen, and in the drop down menu  scroll down to "global settings..." and left-click it.  This will call up the global settings manager, which is located in Windows Control Panel. (You can also access this program directly from your Windows Control Panel, but I don't know what sub folder it's in for Windows XP.)
Click on the Advanced tab, and then click on the box next to  "Never Check for Updates."
The auto update feature can be re-enabled once the problem is fixed.  In the meantime, you can periodically check for updates, and download them, right from this page -- http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  • Update Service Problems

After a 2 hour wait at 90% the service crashed.  Phone now flashes a couple of times and fails to boot. Tried again, now update service
reports that there is 'No new software is available for your phone' and 'Your phone already has the latest available software installed.'
What next?  Return to service centre?

    Hi Trey01
Don't know about that model, I can only give my rough guide to working out what is wrong with my P990.. Not booting, just one flash and blank screen, tried to flash again with the battery fully charged (externally) - the update service now detects the phone but says you have the current version but NO option to re-install. (methinks some data missing from the phone or not written correctly or chip fault)*. Dug out old laptop, used oldish prog XS++4.1 (linux version) to check, reports cannot read GDFS, so copy from old GDFS backup of same model phone still available in software but appears to fail. Tried to restart phone, still same.. Go back to Winbox, now update service says software can be updated, which eventually finishes... Phone starts to boot... Brill, I think, asks for sim code, returns to boot screen and then stops at last pause near end of boot. Blam and Dast - Now notice charging issues and get side tracked into opening it up and testing... (adding png from Sony service manual)  Current situation stands, xcept been reading through update service db folder with hex-editor looking for something like a bootloader to try and workout why it's stopped, best I can see at mo, is ROM (z:\) might not be formed, or not written correctly or chip fault.* (looks like bluetooth is now on at startup and was never much good on this phone).
Hope this is not too much of a ramble, but still smells like a software issue that can be fixed, not gonna let it lie, just fed up at moment.

  • Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are

    I get following message:
Adobe® Flash® Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    How can I solve this?

    People,
Listen. This service is, has been and seemingly will be: FREE. So while emotions are running on the hot side of the guage, let's remember; it is FREE. Adobe owes no one anything. Now who's to blame, really? We, the people are to blame. Why? Because everyone has been ok with the fact that one company essentially designed and released a technology for streaming from the net. One company. And almost all of us are using this one company's technology to stream; for FREE.
But now we are not ok with it when, after we are prompted to update, we have the issue of it not working? We all never saw the ridiculously high potential for this one company to screw things up, intentionally or otherwise? What the ramifications, that we are now experiencing, might be? Nah, we just took it for granted that we would continue to be served. Well the serve came, everyone. Mistake or otherwise.
It's like this country [US], up until four-years ago. Everyone was either running around with snow shovels and hefty garbage bags to gather all the money they were making or sailing the seas of expectation and an, 'I am out there to get mine' attitude, and then the sh*t hits the fan and now people are complaining? About the very system until four years ago was spoon feeding them poolside with mai-tai's? While it was crushing everyone else in the known world?
No doubt it seems incredulous that a multi-billion dollar company has an IT department that would include in an update, for their own software, that would be inconducive to working. No doubt. But keep in mind: we are all either using browsers by Apple or MS. Anything happens to these browsers, including a virus or anything else that threatens our use of them and...?
So climb off the haughty, 'I deserve' crap and walk on the solid ground of trying to resolve this issue here at Adobe and around the net. If we were to band together, as the 99%, we could solve this, no problem. But then that holds true with resolving this fictitious economic downturn nonsense, that we solidly take for truth at face value, because our mainstream media says so. But no other species on this rock flying through space would know what the f*ck we were talking about.

  • Problems with Lion Software Update service

I just recently upgraded our Xserve to Lion server so we could start deploying Lion clients.  The upgrade seemed to go fine, but the Software Update service may end up being a deal breaker.  I can get Lion clients to connect to the server for updates, that is not a problem.  The problem is when Lion client says it needs to download additional software to run a program, in our case a Java runtime environment.  When it looks on the software update server it says "The software is currently unavailable, please try again later."  If I point it back to Apple it works just fine.  We need to have our clients recieving updates locally for bamdwisth reasons, but if they cant get the software that they need then it makes having a local SU server useless.  Anyone know how to fix that?  And on a side note the new Server app that is supplied with Lion doesn't list SU as a service, and I can't figure out how to add or remove the services.  Am I missing something?  Thanks.

To access many of the Server Tools in Lion Server you'll have to go to apple's website and download the Server Admin for 10.7 Server. This is the familar to 10.6.x server admin tool that apple does not include as the standard set of tools. Once you download it you'll have access to these additional services via the GUI:
    DHCP
    DNS
    Firewall
    Mail
    NAT
    NetBoot
    Open Directory
    Podcast Producer
    RADIUS
    Software Update Xgrid

I get the following message as soon as I boot up my PC:
"Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
According to Adobe, this is the first time they've heard of this issue.

    RE:
    23. jbacinti, --Jul 22, 2012 2:30 PM    in reply to Carolo43
Unchecking auto updates does not stop the message for me.
Sorry to hear that too.  I actually recommended this to a few friends who were having the same issue, and it worked for them.
But, I'm wondering....  Have you tried disabling the check for updates settings in both the (Window's Control Panel's) Global settings manager and the (online) Global Notifications Settings panel?  (That's the one on this page -- http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l )  On that page, click on the "Globe with the Check Mark" tab and make sure that the box is blank.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems with Microsoft Server Update Service (WSUS)

    Hi,
    Anyone experienced similar?
The Microsoft Server Update Service (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/updateservices/default.mspx) can be set up to use an ordinary proxy server.
But it cannot connect through Web Proxy Server 4.0.2. If I shift to a Squid Proxy Server everything is just fine and patches are downloaded right away!
Seems like a Sun Proxy problem?
    Regards,
    Kasper Lvschall
BTW: Any news on the release date of version 4.0.3?

Thanks! Looking forward to the release...
    Regards

  • Remote update service on sony ericsson G502 does not work

I have a Sony Ericsson G502.  The phone has a problem  which causes it to restart when I am on a call.  Sometimes it just restarts on its own.  I searched on the net and found that other people have also seen the same issue and I believe a software upgrade will fix the problem.
I dont have the usb cable of the phone so I cannot do the upgrade using the 'Update Service' software from the pc.  I tried doing a 'remote update service' from the phone in Menu-->Update Service-->Search for Update, but it just says that your phone is running the latest software.  The current software version on my phone is 1203-8254 R1FA031 080512.  Is this the latest software available?  I have bought the phone 2 years back (but used it sparingly), and I am not convinced that there is no update to this software.
Please suggest a way I can upgrade this phone?  I like the phone, but this restart problem makes the phone very unreliable for everyday use.   Kindly help.

Your best bet is to get a USB cable and update the software with SEUS on your PC.If, as the remote update service tells you, you already have the latest software, you can only re-install the software via PC anyway.Alternatively, you can perform a master reset on the phone and see if that fixes the problem.Hope this helps.

  • Software Update Service house cleaning

What controls house cleaning for the Software Update Service? If I ask it to stop mirroring updates that have long since been applied, the files still hide in /usr/share/swupd/.
Deselecting the mirroring of an update doesn't help.
The normal house keeping tasks don't seem to clear it out.
I could just navigate to the directory and delete by hand, but that just doesn't seem The MacWay™...

This is probably because you had it set to copy everything automatically in the first place and then you switched that option off. We run into the same problem and, unfortunately, you just have to bear the huge download of the last 4 years worth of Apple updates... Once that has been downloaded SUS will obey new settings. You may need to manually enable the updates if you changed that setting since the download started.
Mind it, since you would have everything there anyway there would be less of an issue leaving on the automatic download option...

  • Can't re-add printer after removing from eprint center - 'Web Services Problem'

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C310 series printer (Model Number CN503B) which I have been using with ePrint for about 18 months. Aside from intermittent issues it has worked, I use a chromebook most of the time so rely on the ePrint option via Google Cloud Print.
Last week it stopped working, with every job in the list showing as cancelled. Following advice on the forum I removed the email address of the printer from the eprint center. I thought it would then be simple to add the printer back. However, I have been unable to connect the printer to the web service so I cannot create the code I need to add the printer back.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Factory reset printer settings
    2. Factory reset network settings
    3. Restart printer and Reboot router
    3. Settings -> Network -> Wireless Setup Wizard
    4. Choose correct SSID, enter password for WPA
    5. ‘Connected to Network’
    6. Settings -> Web -> Enable Web Services
    7. ‘Accept terms’ screen -> Accept
    8. ‘Checking for product updates’ screen shows briefly then returns to 'accept terms' screen
    9. Next it makes a ping sound and shows ‘Web Services Problem’ ‘Problem connecting to Web Services Server’, it then pings again a few seconds later (which ties in with what I see in the network logs as a second attempt)
    10. Log on to printer via web interface and set IP address of printer to manual IP outside DHCP range (as advice on other threads in this forum). Check DNS setting valid (same as gateway server which all other devices on network are also using successfully as DNS)
    11. Repeat steps 6 and 7 - still same error message
I consider myself technically savvy and have followed all advice I can find on this forum including the following:
    1. reverting to printer and network defaults
    2. rebooting router
    3. assigning static IP address to printer outside of DHCP range of router
    4. connecting to printer via web interface and setting DNS to variously: same as gateway, google DNS (8.8.8.8), ISP DNS
    5. adjusting firewall settings on router to explicitly allow and log outbound connection on the HP ports (already had a rule allowing all outbound connections)
As mentioned, the printer worked fine with ePrint previously so I suspect the ePrint server is rejecting a request from my printer for some reason, maybe because there is old / corrupt  data on the server regarding my specific printer.
I’m logging outbound traffic from the printer and here are what the router logs show me (printer IP replaced with 192.168.x.x below, even though it is not public )

Looks like both are HP sites: first is 'g4t2674.houston.hp.com' and the second secure one is ‘registration-pro-site2eprint.houston.hp.com’ which sound likely to be correct. That suggests the DNS is working but that the registration server doesn’t like the request for some reason.
I had the printer registered for Google Cloud Print but I have now deleted that also and it doesn’t seem to have made any difference (assume it just formats and forwards to the HP ePrint email anyway).
One hack that sheds some further light is to switch off wifi on the printer and then switch on ePrint. Eprint gives an error but stays set as 'on'. When I then switch wifi back on I can then at least check for product updates (it tells me I have the latest product updates). However, web services are still a 'no go'. Network traffic for that product update exchange looks like this:

So clearly the printer can communicate to those servers well enough to find it has the latest firmware.
I realise this is a lot of information but hopefully some of it is helpful for troubleshooting.
Thank you in advance for any help!

The issue disappeared this weekend. I didn't change anything so it must have been something server side. I notice others with the same issue have also seen it resolved.
Thanks to all those who contributed and tried to help out. Although disappointed I went for a long time without ePrint I'm glad that action was apparently taken to resolve in the end.

  • Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\Update Services\Schema\

    clean SC 2012 R2 RTM.
    1. had problems with WSUS installation/post configuration
    2. found a blog with an identical problem where the problem was solved with the call to Microsoft. Tools directory was missing.
I followed the suggestion: reinstalled WSUS using ps and wsusutil.
I canceled WSUS configuration at recommended step. Everything looked fine.
But after SUP creation I found SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER warning.
I checked WCM.log and found Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\Update Services\Schema\baseapplicabilityrules.xsd'.
When checked there was no Schema folder in the path above. So it's just missing as folder TOOLS before troubleshooting.
    Any suggestions for fixing this.
    Thanks.
Here is partial WCM that could help to find the issue, I clearly see that there is no Schema directory in C:\Program Files\Update Services:

  • [Oracle BPM 6.0.2 - formerly ALBPM 6.0.2] Error using BAM Updater Service

    Hi All -
I'm getting a similar error to the one below (posted byFabricio Soares) when the BAM updates service is working. We are using ALBPM 6.0.2 alongwith Oracle OID / LDAP (integrated using a custom FDI plugin).
Any idea what could cause this problem? I've verified the BAM configuration - and the database tables exist (though are empty...).
    Thanks in advance -

I've received a reply from the support guys at BEA:
I just got notified from several other engineers , here at the labs , that there’s an issue on the installer itself . The BUG report has been already filed .
In the meantime the only alternative is to install ALBPM Studio 6.02 from scratch , with the following considerations :
    - Uninstall
    - Make sure that the directory had been fully erased
    - Reboot the machine
    - Install ALBPM 6.02
    - Apply the latest Hotfix

  • Flash Update Service Crashing

    I get the following frequently...
Adobe® Flash® Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience
    Error Signature
    szAppName : FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe     szAppVer : 11.3.300.265
    szModName : ntdll.dll     szModVer : 5.1.2600.6055     offset : 000113c0

I will post what I found out myself and it has been now 4 days now since I have had the "FlaahPlayertUpdateService.exe" error pop up.
I'm Betty A Knight, 90-year old retired Mainframe Computer Programmer and retired Independent Internet Contractor for Compuserve and Microsoft (MSN) and also a Beta Tesater for "Windows 95." I received the two or three emails from you and just before I received them, something happened which I will tell you about which I did before I received your emails so that I have not tried them yet but I have not received the "FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe" errors for two days now.
I have been trying to debug this myself just but really only thinking logically.
So, everytime I tried to update the Flash download it would download it but then stop when it hit the install part telling me I had another version of Flash and the install couldn't continue. I searched every way I knew possibly to the find the Flash program that the system claimed I was running. So in trying something else (I have my system set to show "hidden" files and Ia tried this:
C:/Document and Settings/Betty A Knight/Local Settings/Application Data  and I found an icon for Flash. The problem is (which happens to the memory of 90-year old people) I can't remember if it was in Local Settings or Application Data but I deleted that Flash icon from which ever place I found it. Then I tried to download a new copy of Flash from your website and it downloaded and finished correctly.
Now for four (4) days, I have not received the "FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe" error. As I said the normal searching for a duplicate Flash turned up nothing. Only looking in the "hidden" files did I find a copy of Flash.
I  hope I have written this so that you can understand what I have written. If I start to get this error again then I will follow all of your emails and help to debug for tis error (if it continues). So in essence, I had to find and delete a current version of Flash, install a new one to so far not get this error.
Thank you and take good care.
    Sincerely,
    Betty A Knight
