Update to 10.9.1 and restart again and again

Hi, I want to update my MBP 13" 2012, i5 2.6G, 8G to 10.9.1 from 10.9.
When I clicked UPDATE button, it told me I need to restart. After restarting there is a message says I have successfully updated but the system is still 10.9. There is still a message in my App Store. I could click UPDATE and then restart again and again but still can not update tp 10.9.1. Maybe it didn't download the whole package to update?
How could I solve the problem? Could you help me?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Instead of updating to OS X 10.9.1 from the Apple website, download and install it from the Apple website > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1707
If it does not work, try the same but after starting up in safe mode (hold the Shift key while your computer is starting up)

My game center won't load and shows up blank when I try to open it. I've already closed all of my apps and restarted it and it still won't work. Is their anyway to fix it without restoring it and starting over??

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - sign out and the sign back into Game Center
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Installed latest update and restarted computer and iTunes wont open!

I have just installed the latest update to iTunes and restarted the computer when told to and went to open iTunes to sync my latest songs and it says:
"iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missed.
    Please reinstall iTunes."
This would result in me loosing all my music so I hope you have a solution.

A simple thing to try is a repair install. You can do this from programs on Control panel, or you can download the iTunes installer and save in on your PC. When you run it it will give the option to repair if it is the same version as the one you have installed.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Otherwise, in the past this has been associated with Spyware Terminator blocking things, but that was a while ago.
The other thing to check for is malware. You can download a free version of malwarebytes to do the scan:

  • Problem receiving message. 1 of 3 indicated but only receive first and restart Thunderbird and it will resend the first of 3 again.

Have been having trouble receiving messages. An indication of 1 of 3 messages being loaded. The first message comes up and that's the end. I'll restart Thunderbird and the same indication happens - the same first message returns and then that is it. If you send me an email, I doubt whether I will be able to receive it.

  • Firefox 5.0 stalls while watching videos (at least) and the only way to get it back working is to close it and restart it, and this is not right !

I have been using Firefox 5.0 for the past few days. I have been experiencing the following error : I watch videos and suddenly, the video stops. From that point, it becomes impossible to open new tabs, especially, I tried to use the search box (with Google or Yahoo) on the top right of the page and got no result.
However, if I close the browser and restart it, Firefox works again, until it drops again. I therefore have to close it and open it again every 5 minutes to read a video (the problem also appears when not using the video). The only thing that might cause this that is not Firefox could be my latest upgrade from Xmarks, however I disabled the thing and still got the issue.
I would like to uninstall Firefox 5.0 from now and put Firefox 4 at least until the browser is more stable, but how do I do that ?

    Hey ppgg,

  • Commando sensors dead at times and restarts over and over

In Dec my commando did an update which wasnt the gingerbread update. since then my phone hasnt worked right. All my sensors have stopped working unless i restart the phone but then they stop working after a bit. Due to the Prox sensor not working properly i drop calls all the time. And its restarts over and over about ever 20 min. Did a master reset and didnt help at all. Went to a verizon store and they said i had to go to a Corporate Store. Now I have to drive an hour out of my way to get to one.

    Hello dmmcallister26
Wow that's not how the Commando should be responding. The problems you described are very upsetting. Let's get this resolved immediately and save you a trip.
What software version is on the Commando? To check the software version:
From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch About Phone
View Information under Baseband Version & Build Number
When you completed the master reset did any third party applications reload? Were there any anti-virus or task killer applications loaded on the device? If so please remove and retest.
Please Let me know the answers to these questions. So we can get this resolved quickly.
    Thank you

  • Windows loads and restarts loads and restarts!!!

recently I had a problem where I could not increase the partition size on my boot camp disc. I had to re format my entire hard drive and reinstall osx and then boot camp.
When I installed bootcamp everything worked fine well I thought. under boot camp... windows loads up. and within a few seconds of it finished loading, it automatically restarts and does it over and over again. I can't stop this from happening.
FYI... it did this one time and I reloaded windows and the same thing happened again!
    Please help!

Hi! I had read about your problem before I installed so I was waiting for it! I have just installed a licensed full OEM version of Windows XP with SP3 included on the single disc. Sure enough it started reloading everything as you noted. Rather than stop it I waited until it asked me where I wanted to install it and I chose my previously formatted 60 GB NTFS partition. It then told me there was something already installed on that. I had the open of reinstalling or quitting. I chose Quit and restarted the computer. Seems all OK. I have since connected to the internet and mail and have "Activated" Windows. I guess you have sorted this out by now but if not hope it helps! (Please note I have not downloaded Bootcamp 2.1!!

  • Apple options like Shut Down and Restart duping, and other problems.

When I click the apple and go to shut down, I have two shut down, restart, logout, and empty trash options, and I'm getting a black box that sort of frames different elements of windows that're open or were open. This box stays there even after the windows are closed.
I took some screen shots to show what I'm talking about.

    http://gauntlet.ucalgary.ca/box.png

For the repeating text: you probably have a messed up font. Open font book, and be sure Helvetica is there, and activated. It is necessary for the system.
As to the box, that is much easier. Go to >System Preferences...>Universal Access>Seeing>Zoom>Options, and UNcheck "Show preview rectangle when zoomed out". Ignore that, I was wrong, and iBod was right.
    Good luck!

Uninstalled everything PA, also uninstalled mangler which was the only thing that depended on PA. It didn't work anyway.
No pulseaudio --kill command so I couldn't run.
Checked systemd journal and there is no mention of PA this time.
Checked top, and grepped ps aux and there is no PA there either.
I also rebooted the machine completely just to make sure. However VLC and HTML5 have the same incompatibilities.
