Update to 3.3 back again
hello everyone
i updated to 4.0 on 3g 3 months back but ithas been working very slow and now i cant take it any more so i want to degrade it back to 3.3 or whatever latest update on 3.0
my iphone 3g in locked with airtel and i havent unlocked or jailbroken it
so want to know how to degrade it officially
any help would be highly appreciated

Sorry, but Apple won't let you downgrade. There are way though that we can't discuss here. Do a Google or YouTube search for help.

I understand it can be frustrating and concerning when your iPhone will not startup as you would expect. I know that you have tried restarting the iPhone as well and the issue continues. IMovie 4 to iMovie HD and back again
I have read countless threads on issues related to choppy video in iMovieHD, but I haven't yet discovered a solution to my situation. I'm also dizzy with all the options, iMovie 4 vs iMovie HD, QT 7 vs QT 6.5.2, QT Cache Size, etc...
In years past, I have used iMovie 4 successfully on a number of big projects. These movies were usually from 60 to 90 minutes, with tons of video clips, audio clips, stills, transitions and effects. I never had a problem. This is work repeating. I never had a problem.
Then enter stage iMovie HD, and Quicktime 7. Neither seemed to have new features that I needed, but I figured, what the heck, maybe it improves performance. This is where my nightmare begins. I honestly do not know which software it the culprit, but I was in the middle of one of the most important video projects yet (and one of the biggest). Perhaps I deserve my fate since I didn't save the iMovie 4 project file, but I'm hoping some of you will be forgiving. Yes, I converted my iMovie 4 project to iMovie HD, and did not save the old project file. I didn't notice (or don't remember noticing) at first, so maybe the problem didn't start until I upgraded to QT 7. But at some point in time, I noticed a big problem in my project. I would start playing the movie to see how things were coming together, and my video would just freeze at arbitrary points (after a minute or so of playing okay). It starts getting choppy first, then the frame just freezes. The playhead continues to movie, and choppy audio is heard, but the video just seems to die.
I wiped the drive, and reinstalled iLife 04. I'm running OS X 10.3.9, and software update updated me to Quicktime 7 again. So I have a number of questions, all hopefully leading to resolution of this issue. I've lost weeks of time on this project, and I need to get it back on track.
1. I have the iMovie HD project, but I want to work on it in iMovie 4 instead (had better luck with iMovie 4). Is there any way to mod the iMovie HD project file, or any utility, so that I can open it with iMovie 4 (and have all my clips and transitions, etc., restored)?
2. Was downgrading from iMovie HD to iMovie 4 the wrong solution completely? Is the culprit really Quicktime 7?
3. Does the latest Quicktime resolve this issue? I'm trying to decide whether I should upgrade to iMovie HD again. I really don't know what to do at this point. There's so much at stake, but lately my productivity has been zero, so something has to happen.
I guess I'm looking for a direction to go, and I currently feel very lost. Reading the past threads made me dizzy. I just want things to be the way they were: working. Can someone push me in the right direction?Now I know how you equated donmerlin with Bill... I got so flustered with this problem, I ended up forgetting which Apple ID I posted under. Here is an update to the problem.
I really wanted to stay with QT 7.0.3 because the latest DVD Studio Pro requires it (as does iTunes for video playing). I tried to stay with QT 7 and revert back to iMovie 4, but because the old iMovie 4 project file was converted to iMovie HD (and there's not way to go back), I basically had to recreate the iMovie project from scratch. I started to do this, by first creating a new iMovie 4 project, then copying all of the 100's of media files from the other project into this one. Once I realized the magnitude of work involved, figuring out what's what, and which clips are transitions and effects, I knew this was a bad way to go. And chances are, it would have still been a problem, since most of what I've read has to do with QT 7 being the problem. So I changed directions.
I am fortunate enough to have two G4's, so I left QT 7.0.3 on this one, and decided to downgrade QT on my other G4. First I ran the QT 7.0.1 Reinstaller (had to use Pacifist, since the Apple installer refused to let it run). Then I ran the QT 6.5.2 Reinstaller. After that, I opened up the iMovie HD project, and lo and behold, the freezing and staggering playback issues were gone! Words cannot express the feeling of relief I had. In retrospect, I am still quite disappointed that Apple introduced an upgrade to QT that caused this horrible problem, and appears to have done nothing to resolve it. The good news is that I found my way around the problem via the QT downgrade path, and I'll never upgrade QT on this other G4 again. Thanks to everyone in sharing in my grief and posting suggestions (both in response to my post and others). -
My iPod Nano 7th Generation couldn't be detected by iTunes when I plugged in. I tried resolving the issue by uninstalling the iTunes and then install it back again but yet still the same problem exist. Can you please help me to solve this issue? I have already updated to the latest version of iTunes on my Windows 8 and I cannot synchronize my iPod for the time being. Please do help me to solve this problem. Thank You.

I updated my iphone 5 to ios7 on Sunday and have been having m?ajor problems with my phone since. It keeps freezing and I have to constantly press the home and on/off switch to get it to restart. I had updated my itunes and backed up the phone before doing the update. I'm getting very frustrated at this stage as the phone is practically useless. Is it worth doing a restore? Bearing in mind that I just tried to do that and got a message to turn off the 'find phone' feature in settings and when I tried to get into settings the phone froze again.
I don't have a good answer for you but reading these forums, it seems that network drives can often cause problems with iTunes like you describe.

how can i say yes to automatic updates when they stop my wireless dlink to Virgin home broadband from getting on the internet and then i have to do a system restore to the day before the update to get it back to normal?!? Frustrated

Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

As I understand it, your Settings app installing an update correctly that it downloaded. I would start by quitting the Settings app:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, use this part of the article about troubleshooting updating in this manner:

If the issue persists, try updating your device in another network or use iTunes to update your device. Learn more about iOS updates.

My iPhone apps wouldn't open they just blink for a second and the home screen comes back again...i tried installing a free app from the AppStore but it didn't work and also tried resetting the iPhone but ddnt work as well please help what do i do??
Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Patience and try, try again. It worked for me after trying 50+ times for 30 minutes.. felt like forever but really not that bad. It's updating as we speak.

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

Songs I deleted are suddenly back again.
A long time ago (I mean three or four years ago) I deleted a lot of songs from my parent's computer when I moved out. I did more than just remove them from the Itunes library: I had gone into the users menu, under music, and carefully deleted each specific folder or song.
Now, after several years I have come to find that the music is mysteriously back again. The only major thing I have done is update their computer to Snow Leopard.
Why is the music back? I would like to know before I spend more time deleting music that will inevitably raise from the dead.I'm having the same problem. It seems like rebooting the phone can help to some degree. But I have a lot of albums where it shows duplicates for every song. If I delete the whole album and redownload it, it seems to work. But deleting one of the two songs leaves just one bogus copy behind, which isn't actually on the device.
I would try first rebooting your phone. Then if the 'dead' tracks are still there, delete the albums and see if it prompts you to download them again.
I must say, iTunes Match has been a buggy mess for me from the start. I hoped iOS 8 would fix it. Being able to delete albums helps, but I feel like I spend more time trying to manage my music than listening to it. Once my year is up, I think I'll just go back to syncing a playlist, old-school though that may be. -
I recently updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, and lost 1200 odd contacts. I recently sold my macbook air and also my mac book pro, so have no recent backups avaiable. I have a backup from about 4-5 months ago available on an external hdd as a time machine backup. Can I add/update contacts from the back up rather than restore? The reason i wish to do this is because in the update i didnt lose any messages, so all of the people i have met and networked with since that last update those many months ago, i have in my messages listings. They are all unidentified numbers at present but over time i will be able to work through the messages and based on the conversation recall who each was with. Also, yesterday, some two weeks after the update had left my contacts list entirely empty... a vast majority just reappeard, though all of them are without any phone numbers, all just emails or facebook contacts. This is the work of facebook not mac/ios6 isnt it...? Any help here would be greatly apprecaited. I am about 2 days from flying to canada and having those contacts would make life a lot easier.
You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.
