Update to 7.8 in Romania
Hi ! When will be available the update 7.8 for lumia 800 in Romania?
Hi,
The update has started rolling out but dates for any country are neither provided in this forum nor can we provide the information to you.
The Windows Phone 7.8 update is now rolling out for Nokia Lumia smartphones through February. Delivery of the update is operator dependent, meaning you will receive a notification in the coming weeks if you have an unlocked phone or if your operator has approved the update. If you don’t receive the update notification within the next three weeks, please contact your operator for more information.
You may read more here: http://conversations.nokia.com/2013/01/30/get-even-more-from-your-nokia-lumia-with-windows-phone-7-8...
You may also check the below link from the global website for the Availability in Europe.

Nokia 5230 dont update to 51.x.002
Hi all,
I have a 5230 and if i try to update to latest software, dont update to 51.x.002.
I use Nokia Suite 3.8.48 > Sofware Update > Refresh or on phone
Menu -> Applications -> SW updates.
More info from Nokia Suite:
Model :5230
Type: RM-588
From phone:
Software version: 50.0.001
Date: 28-04-2011
Personalized version: 50.0.001.315.02
Date of personal version: 22-07-2011
Language set: 05
Model: 5230
Type: RM-588
Last update: not updated.
Buy from Vodafone Romania as new.
Is a chance to get latest software update, and if, HOW?
Solved!
Go to Solution.The map data for all Symbian phones was not updated since July 2013. You have the latest version.
The HERE team thinks, if you need newer map data, you have to switch to Windows Phone 8 or Android.
To get v3.09 of the map application, you need a Symbian^3 device like a Nokia 700. You have the latest version of Nokia Maps for a Nokia 5230. Even with the latest firmware-version for your hardware-type (RM-588) which is not available for your firmware-variant (0597862), there would be no newer map application.
Do you face any concrete issues with Nokia Maps? -

Critical Irish Update needed to solve black and white tv problem on G20!
I recently had trouble with setting up tv on my Qosmio G20, I was pointed in the direction of a black and white problem that affects earlier models. The solution to the problem was to use the g20's drivers and run 2 reg files.
Having done that to no success i tried every irish combination possible, with still black and white, I then tried UK and got colour.
I mucked about with the registration files and found that in the file, there was no irish setting, So when a user puts ireland in as their location they will always get black and white.
Ireland uses the exact same settings for tv as the UK does, However if a person choses UK they will not get irish guides or irish channels to pick from (ireland isnt part of the uk)
i found the settings for the UK -
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ttv200x\Parameters\44]
@="United Kingdom"
"FreqBoundary"=dword:000493e0
"LB_VideoStandard"=dword:20000080
"LB_AudioStandard"=dword:00020000
"LB_ShiftFreq"=dword:00000abe
"HB_VideoStandard"=dword:20000080
"HB_AudioStandard"=dword:00020000
"HB_ShiftFreq"=dword:00000abe
Figuring the 44, was the dial code for UK (that took a while to figure) i added a registry entry with exactly the same settings, but with ireland and 353 at the top.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ttv200x\Parameters\353]
@="Ireland"
"FreqBoundary"=dword:000493e0
"LB_VideoStandard"=dword:20000080
"LB_AudioStandard"=dword:00020000
"LB_ShiftFreq"=dword:00000abe
"HB_VideoStandard"=dword:20000080
"HB_AudioStandard"=dword:00020000
"HB_ShiftFreq"=dword:00000abe
I now have colour tv under the irish settings in media centre, i also have sound now, where before i didnt. Hopefully the above code will be added to the registry file named ttv2_regdata_20050111.reg that comes as part of the http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB5800V20000R01.htm driver fix for the problem..
thanks to jimi in the following post http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=42&threadID=11145 for pointing me in the right direction.
Hope it helps someone..
laters taters...I can confirm the problem isnt to do with win dvd creator 2 for toshiba. My registry setting was at 0.
Its bascially a known problem that was fixed, however it wasnt fixed for irish people.
When windows wants to play tv it looks in the registry to find out what settings to use. There are no irish ones. Our signal is technically the same as the UK, so using UK settings fixes the problem, However the UK guide doesnt work for irish channels. For the tv to work in colour windows needs the 353 settings.
I think the guy on this thread was having the exact same problem that is fixed with the registry entry.
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2488&tstart=75
This problem will only affect a small amount of users, The fix that comes with the toshiba drivers needs the irish settings added, Then the problem will be solved by updating the drivers.
until then any irish people can fix their black and white tv signal by adding the above registry entrys.
for trouble shooting purposes here is a list of countries where the bug is fixed... If someone complains of black and white tv on the qosmio series, this list can be checked, and if the persons country is absent, it could be the problem. To fix the problem you need to find out their country call code (+353 is ireland, +44 is UK) You also need to know the settings to add, i did this by looking at the UK settings in the file ttv2_regdata_20050111.reg that comes in the "reg" folder that comes for the qosmio tv driver.
here is the list of countries that an update of driver will work for...

N73 software update problem- Be ware
After updating my N73 to ver,3.070 , Nothing seems to work.
delay proplem , cant access my calnder , cant open my text messages.I tried many times to re install in vain.
How can I go back to the older software ?
HelpI don't know if your phone supports Firmware over the air, but you can check here anyway: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
I've also no overview if there are any more recent update that you already have. But I guess you know there is a more recent one since youre asking...
If it is released a more recent fw for the n73 and you cannot download it:
It's likely because your phone is branded from Orange Romania and they haven't approved the most recent update yet.
So what you can do is call Orange romania and ask if or when they will release the most recent update. -

After a month of inactivity, pacman says there is nothing to update
Hi all,
I have a computer that I am using for a project here at university which has Arch x86 installed. Because I myself run Arch on my laptop, I have not needed to use this other computer for a while (I have been writing code that will eventually be run on the other computer). Anyway, after about a month of inactivity, I booted up this other computer and attempted to perform an update with pacman -Syu, and to my surprise pacman was unable to sync with the server (ibiblio). After changing the mirror twice in my mirrorlist, I finally was able to sync with the package database, however pacman continued by stating "There is nothing to be done." I know for a fact that this is incorrect since the computer has not been touched in at least a month.
Any idea why it would update the package database, but neglect to update any of the actual packages? Trying additional mirrors did not help (although I was rather curious as to why half the mirrors that I selected were incapable of syncing) and I am currently out of other ideas.
Regards,

Does -Q actually list packages?
Also, paste your pacman.conf and mirrorlist
-Q does list packages, in the case of wine it is the 1.3.16 version. 1.3.17 came out on the 2nd, so surely it would be up to date in all the mirrors by now?

Hi everyone,
I have had arch on my laptop for a while now, 3 months i think, and two days on my desktop pc. For some reason I can not update either. It just said that there is nothing to do.
I tried loads of things like just doing
pacman -Syy
and changing the mirrorlist so random mirrors are at the top.
The only difference is that when running pacman -Syu on my laptop, it updates the repos and then says that there is nothing to do rather than on the desktop it says that repos are up to date. Here is my pacman.conf, it is the same on both systems:
# /etc/pacman.conf

I want to give a Nokia software update available but says version is V50. Why do I look like. If I want to give updates on the phone sw update the application so I want to give out .if i update with * # 0000 * error. Please help .sorry for my bad english
As you posted elsewhere this device is a product code 0577189: RM-356 Vodafone Romania RO Red V1 - MR which network provider no longer supports, since as no longer marketed there is no incentive to do so.
Happy to have helped forum with a Support Ratio = 42.5 -
I think that given the current alternatives:- Zonga- Deezer- Apple Music (in the not-so-distant future) Spotify would be wasting a chance to get further into the eastern market if it does not launch in Romania as well. There are already a lot of musicians from Romania on Spotify, which means that securing licensing agreements couldn't have been that hard. Furthermore, following the example of deezer which comes bundled with Orange voice contracts, respectively zonga and vodafone, I think that Spotify could seize this opportunity to secure a deal with Telekom and either bundle their services or just outright open here as well. It makes a lot of sense especially since Spotify opened in Hungary and Bulgaria as well. The expansion would only be natural and it would also further drive down the hated piracy phenomenon in the balkans and eastern europe. In the 21th century on a competing market, spotify's ease of use, multiplatform, streaming quality and array of artists would ensure a switch over from the other services to spotify. I was told by a Spotify support representative, a few months back that it is planned to launch Spotify in Romania as well, however, somehow, those plans changed, and the "official facebook page" was taken down, and now, the official position is that nobody knows when this is happening. I only want to know the truth, and use this service without resorting to all sorts of loopholes to enjoy it. I think it's time people in my country are treated the same way others are all over europe. There's bad seeds everywhere, but I don't think everyone has to be held accountable for the actions of the few. If you demand respect, you should show respect.

Sim not valid after update to IOS 8.1.1
Hello,
I have an iPhone 5 and I have update it yesterday from iOS 6 to iOS 8.1.1 and after update I can`t activate it.
My iPhone has been purchased from SFR France and has been sim locked by SFR.
I have official unlock it last month and it worked well on Orange Romania until yesterday.
On all servers it look like unlocked but I can`t activate it.
iTunes say that sim card is not compatible.
Now It have iOS 8.1.
Please help me.I haven't contacted SFR directly, I have used a service like "apple official unlock. com/ apple-official-imei-iphone-unlock" to do that and I verified the simlock status on other site like this. I think that site contacted SFR for unlock.
The iPhone has been unlocked after I connected it to iTunes and I think that is official unlocked. -
Hello all, it may sound a bit... stupid my question, but here I go... Does anybody know when the Nokia 6300 Firmaware will be released in Romania?
Some recent firmware updates have been known to break access to the life timer on certain models
Unfortunately there is no way for you to get it back yourself.
A nokia care point may be able to help you by performing a full reset and flash on your phone.
Care points/service centres and repair info:
UK • Europe • Asia-Pacific • USA •
Canada • Middle East and Africa

[SOLVED]Pacman doesn't update
Hi.
I'm having a problem with Pacman. It seems like it doesn't update the database. A few days ago I updated my system with a "pacman -Syu", and (I don't know when exactly) It just stopped.
Trying a "pacman -Syu":
sudo pacman -Syu
