Update to iOS 5.0 got error 14

Hi y'all,
So I tried to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0 and got error 14... So I thought it can be because it had iOS 5.0b7 (I've got a dev acc) on it, but I think it wasn't.
I tried it on 3 different computers (Mac Mini (Lion 10.7.2), MBP(Lion 10.7.2),  Windows 7) and used 5 different iPhone cables, so... I also have/had a problem with downloading iOS 5.0 trough iTunes because on the end it says that the file has been corrupted like everything (again 3 different computers), so I tried it alot. Eventually I went crazy because I couldn't get my iPhone out of restore mode after 6 hours...!(Bricked) Then I thought about installing iOSb6 that worked but the software was expired he said so I now have iOS 5.0GM on it.
I tried the same with my dad's iPhone (4.3.3) on his laptop and got the same error... So his was also bricked.... I restored his also to iOS 5.0GM but I know it will eventually expire...
So my question was what do I do about this can I do an OTA from iOS 5.0GM to for example a future release like iOS 5.0.1 (or something like that). Or is there another solution?
Thank you in advance,
Kind regards,
Delano

Hello there I just thought I would let you know that iOS 5 GM is the final version, that is the same software everyone is running... It should be build number 9A334... Yes as soon as 5.0.1 comes out you will be able to update OTA.... Hope this helps

  • Just updated my iphone 3gs but got error 3194?

    hi
i have just gone to update my iphone 3gs and got error code 3194 and now it seems as if it stuck in recovery mode

The ONLY reason that gs.apple.com would be in your hosts file is if the computer was ever used to hack, jailbreak or otherwise mod ANY iPhone (not just the one you are having a problem with now).
The specific description of this error is:
Error 3194: Resolve error 3194 by updating to the latest version of iTunes.   "This device is not eligible for the requested build" in the updater logs confirms this is the root of the issue.
You can also get this error if you have ever installed a version of iOS that was obtained other than through iTunes.

  • Even with 10.5.2 my ipad is not getting update to ios 5 .its showing error while downloading.

even with 10.5.2 itunes version ,my ipad is not getting update to ios 5 .its showing error while downloading.

If you are getting a network timeout error then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

  • HT201210 my i phone wont update to ios 7 keeps saying error 29

my iphone wont let me update ios 7 keeps saying error 29

From the article that the question was posted from:
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • IPad will not update to iOS 4.2.1 - Error 1645. Help please?

I have managed to download the 4.2.1 software but in the actual updating phase, my iPad reboots and it is after this reboot that an error message pops up "1645- unknown error". I have tried several times to update my iPad but the error message always comes up. I have also tried restoring, which gives the same error message and I have tried using a different computer- once again giving the error message. Thanks for your help in advance!

I got the error 1645 with my iPad2 trying to upgrade to iOS6. I did everything that was described on http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529?viewlocale=en_US, but nothing helped. Every time I tried to recover I got error 1645 or -1. So I talked with Apple Support and they told me to extend my
attempts to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529?viewlocale=en_US - but that didn't helped. They were realy
amazed because error 1645 isn't documented in their KB. I then tried to downgrade (download the firmware from Apple and select the file after pressing "recover" with option key) - same error again.
They now told me to try it on a different network with a different mac - but that produced the same error again and again.
Apple support finaly told me to send the iPad to them, because that seems to be a hardware defect. We will see …
    I'll keep you informed.

  • Fehlermeldung 3014 beim Update auf IOS 7 von Iphone - error message 3014 when trying to update my iPhone to IOS 7

    Danke!
    Now in English:
I have tried to update my Iphone 5 to IOS 7 today - grave mistake, now I keep getting error message 3014 (once I got 21, but that was on try 3 - and since then I keep only getting 3014). My iPhone is now in "support mode"? - sorry, I don't know what "Wartungszustand" is in Englisch - however, the iphone is not usable anymore and when I connect it to iTunes it tells me that it detected that the iPhone is in "Wartungszustand" and I need to restore it to the settings with which I bought it - which is not working because it keeps giving me the 3014 error message.
I have tried everything that the website the error message sent me to has listed - except for the following:
    - the stuff with the internet router, because in the settings it is not possible to switch of the firewall, and I have no clue how to tell it to allow access to gs.apple.com - there is no option where I can put in an address like that!
    - deinstalling my Norton 360 firewall - I have switched it off, but I am not willing to deinstall it, because I have no clue if I get it up and running again - and how...
    - using another person's computer - because it is midnight and I can not run down the only person's door, who I know has an iPhone at this time of the night...
Does anyone have an idea how I can find out which programm is causing the trouble? Or if it is really only related to the "Wartungszustand"?  - All software is up to date - that which wasn't I already updated earlier this evening.
Oh - and itunes works fine otherwise (downloading and playing freshly bought music...)
    Thanks,

  • Updating to iOS 5.1 - Unknown Error (11)

    Hi,
I have a 3GS Factory Unlocked running on iOS 4.1.
I went for 5.1 update for the device but it stopped with the following error message:
"The iPhone could not be updated. An unknown error occured (11)."
On clicking more information tab in the error message was directed to the following page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
    I had updated my iTunes to 10.6 prior to connecting the device. In DFU Mode, got the following message on connecting to iTunes;
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Got out of DFU Mode & the device rebooted to normal. On again updating the device got the same error message.
    Pls assist resolving the issue.

    Thanks neukyhm for your reply.
As stated earlier, I exited DFU Mode & the device has rebooted to its normal self.
My main problem is that, I am unable to update the device to 5.1.
Getting the unknown error (11) message again on updating.

  • IPhone 4 will not update to iOS 5, keeps showing error 3194.

    Hey all,
I have an iPhone 4 running 4.3.5. However when i plugged it in and tried to update through iTunes it gets to the verifying software stage and then pops error 3194. I have tried googling this and everything points towards my hosts file. However I have tried this on several other laptops (one MacBook and one Windows laptop) and it shows the same error each time (well an error that said 'This device is not eligable...' on the MBP).
Does this point to a problem with the phone? How can i upgrade to iOS 5?
    Thanks for your help!

...I've done that.  I've tried disabling antivirus, redownloading iTunes, and downloading from another website.
None of the common answers have worked, thus the reason I posted.

  • HT4623 Unable to update to iOS 7.0. Error displayed "Software Update Unavailable"

I have an iPhone 4. I was able to download iOS 7 but it did not install. Now when I try to install it and error is displayed "Software Update Unavailable"

Have you tried to update via iTunes or via Wifi?  Here is the article on how to do both - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623
Tell us what it's telling you when you try if you are having issues.
Some common things to try if you are having issues doing it over wifi:
    1) Turn on Airplane Mode in Settings.
    2) Turn the iPhone off completely for about 2 minutes by holding the power button and sliding the red bar.
    3) Turn the iPhone back on and turn off Airplane mode from Step #1. Try to update again.
    4) Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then reconnect to your Wifi and try to update again.
If you are getting an error about space, you can delete some apps or information to free up space on your iPhone (You can view what's taking up space in Settings > General > Usage) or you can update via iTunes on the computer. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623

  • My Ipod touch 3g won't update to ios 5, i get error code 3194, and i checked what that meant. It said i needed to update Itunes, and when i tried, it was already updated. My Ipod is running 4.3.5 HELP!

    Please Help!

iTunes only allows you to update to the latest iOS which is 5.0.1.
Disabling the computer's security software (firewall and antivirus) during the download and update usually resolves the problem.
