Update to IOS 5 and lost voicemail & paid apps

Hi All,
Just updated to IOS 5 and I lost voicemails that I saved and wanted and some apps that I also had and paid for.  I synced my phone before beginning the update and now have lost the information.  Any idea how to get it back? Anyone?

If you failed to transfer your apps to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload:

If your back up was successful, then just resync.  The books are there.  If they are not, simply go back to the bookstore and redownload them for free.

  • I upgraded to iOS 5 and lost all my apps on my iPad. They are in iTunes, but iTunes will not sync because "the pairing record is missing." HELP!

I upgraded to iOS 5 and lost all my apps on my iPad. They are in iTunes, but will not sync "because the pairing record is missing." Please help!

On your iPad and iPod touch tap Settings > Store
Make sure Music is switched On under Automatic Downloads.
Now restart your iPad and your iPod touch.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

By the way, this is not a jail broken phone.  It is an AT & T phone using a no conract service that uses AT & T towers.

  • Updated to ios 6 and lost photos

i uptaded my ipod to ios 6 and i lost my pictures i dont have them backed up to icloud and i dont have a mac! what do i do!?

Not sure what having a mac has to do with anything.
You should be importing pics taken with your ipod to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before attempting any update or restore.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone.  You can try restoring from backup.

  • HT1766 Having updated to IOS 6 and lost all music

Having updated to IOS 6 on my phone all my music and pods are gone and I, or rather iTunes, fail to sync new ones. It is with sadness I see that the VERY handy gadget I had is gone. What options do I have? At the moment, buy another phone with Android? Sync with Linux? Since the WiFi and other net facilities work lousy where I am, I cannot use iCloud and with this experience I doubt I would like to.

  • Updated to IOS 6 and lost many apps. No backups available on itunes. What to do???

Just restored itunes on my computer and upgraded to ios 6. When I synch'd my iphone 4, most all of my apps
got wiped out!!! Literally everything I downloaded from istore is gone. Went to itunes and re-synched thinking
everything might be restored automatically. WRONG! So, I right clicked on my iphone and selected "restore from backup"
There was only one backup to chose from, the one that was just done a few mins prior... no other backups from days or weeks
before were there anymore!!! They apparently got wpied out when I upgraded to ios 6!
    WHAT HAPPENED?????
HOW DO I RECOVER MY APPS???
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP... I'M NOT HAPPY.........
    Thx,
    Ron -Man

I agree with ron-man...they are pushing the updates.  I've got tons of books on iTunes, iPad, iPhone, etc., but none of them can tell me an easy way to resotre my devices.  How hard would it be to have a button that says "Restore "device" (being iPhone, iPad, iTouch, etc.) with original apps, etc.? Basically put the apps and what not back on it? I don't have the extra time to go and find EACH and every app I had on it...
On another note, I'm not too sure that I want to stick with Apple products if this is what we have to go through each time it downloads a NEW UPDATE!!! I'm plenty busy without having to take extra time out of my schedule to try and fix all my apps.
    Thanks

  • IPAD 2, I updated to IOS 6 and lost data from EA app

I uploaded data from The Sims Freeplay prior to upgrading to IOS 6 and when I went to downoad the data, icloud states that it is not there, lost of lot of money, and fun,
How can I get it back?
How ever all photos and music are now lost also, very strange.
I also has issues when upgrading, it had to be done twice and then i lost every app that i had, thank god for itunes and app world!
PS Itunes says it is my loss, really?

If the iPad has not been backed up - how can you expect to retain the photos if you restore to factory destroys go via Recovery Mode.
To answer your question, if you have to restore the iPad using recovery mode and you have nothing backed up anywhere, you are out of luck regarding the photos. You will lose them when you restore the iPad.
BTW ... You don't have to restore the iPad, but you will not be able to use it any more. You will have a rather expensive door stop on your hands.

  • I have updated my iPad 2 with iOS 5 and lost all my apps.

When updating my iPad 2 evey single app was lost. I am wondering if there is anyway to recover them, and all the info that was held in them. My photos were kept, but that was all (no music was available to be lost).
I have tried syncing to iTunes, but apparently the backup was never done/completed, or it just didn't work.  This angers me greatly, and it is something that Apple HAS to fix. I have seen that this has been happening to many other people with their iPads as well, and when I talked to support about it, I was blown off.
Time to step it up Apple. If you want to keep going without Jobs, you HAVE to live up to your own reputation.

It sounds as if you were using iTunes for sync/backup, not iCloud. Presumably you had noticed the device being backed up in the past? When was your most recent backup from? In my case, the iOS upgrade process triggered its own backup, so when the new OS was installed, my iPad looked exactly as it did prior to the upgrade.
I'm not sure the problem is Apple's to fix, as you put it: it may simply be terrible luck that your backup file happened to be corrupted. :^< It's never any fun to be the outlier, I know that for sure.

  • Updated to iOS 5 and lost my ringtones. Lost calendar data. Lost tones of settings.

My ringtones are in Itune but will not sync to my phone with iOS 5. Any suggestions?
I was using a calendar app Calendar Skin and the update removed this app from my phone. I downloaded the app back and each time I try to set an alert on a new calendar item, it bumps me out of the app and delete the entry I was just finishing.

Same thing happened to me. Never got the information back. I didn't try overly hard to find a solution, so hopefully someone replies with one.
From what I could tell, that "backup" that happens when installing IOS 5 doesn't actually back anything up. My only option was a backup from 9 months prior.

  • I updated to iOS 5 and lost my documents

I backed up first, then got the update to work, then did Restore from Backup from the correct backup, and synced to get my apps and photos etc. back.  All my documents and other settings have disappeared.  Has anyone solved this problem?  I have a PC not a Mac.  Is there a directory on the PC where documents were supposed to be stored?  Thanks.

If you backup your iPad you can restore from the backup. The iPad app data is retained in the backup.
Did you update over the air or with iTunes on your computer?

  • Updates are not installing and lost the cloud app

I cannot download anything - says downloading, but I get nothing.  my cloud disappeared yesterday.  today I cannot save any files in InDesignCC  HELP.

    1) Uninstall Creative Cloud
    2) Go to Free Creative Cloud | Download Adobe Creative Cloud free trial and install again.
    3) Restart your computer after the installation and the problem will be fixed.
I was on a phone couple minute ago with a tech support from Adobe and by doing those steps the problem was fixed.

  • Updated to iOS 8 and now I can't get my apps to open

I Recently updated to iOS 8 and now ALL my apps open and freeze or just quit out instantly I've let it run flat, restarted it and shut it down for a few hours andit doesn't change anything. And my iPod is really slow unresponsive music plays randomly issue stars randomly clicks lagg out for a few minutes.
the only apps that do work are the default ones that come with iOS 8.
how can I fix this issue ASAP.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
